A/N I'm getting really tired of writing these at the beginning of each chapter, but oh well. As usual I don't own anything except the OC's and even then they are not entirely my creation. As I have stated many times before, this chapter in all honesty is not that good. I haven't been in much of a mood to write lately, but I figured why the hell not sit down and try. I honestly do not know if I should continue this story or not so let me know what you think.

"Since when exactly did my life turn into a bad soap opera?"

"It's not a bad soap opera…okay it's a little bit of a soap opera." Ryan said as he took the seat next to her. He turned towards her, just taking in her appearance. He could tell she was tired, not just physically. 'Why is it that we end up damaging the people we care about?' He thought to himself. 'I always wanted to be a father, but I missed out on so much of her life. I honestly don't know how to make it up to her. Will she call me dad or will I just be Ryan to her. And Mick, I can already tell H is going to have his hands full with her. She seems like a good kid, her and Rob both, but all this danger I don't know how H handles this.' "Mick, I don't want to scare you in the least bit, you seem to have a good head on your shoulder. And I can see how much you and Rob trust and rely on each other. Our life is full of bad people, so sometimes we have to work even harder to protect the people that we care about the most. So that means that we cannot always be there, even when that's all we want to do. I shouldn't be telling you this, but Kyle and H only met a little while ago. Even then it took some convincing from all of us and a kidnapping for H to finally tell Kyle the truth. H is a good guy, one of the best. "

"The thing that I'm most afraid of is how will our lives change? I mean are we allowed to go out in public, go to school or do we have to constantly look over our shoulders. You guys really never asked if we even wanted to come live with you." She saw his face fall. She held out her hands in a pleading gesture. "I'm not saying that we don't want to live here, it's just we're used to the simple life, with simple problems. We have enough trouble that inadvertently is our fault, but still normal problems. I just don't want us to be there, like trophies. Where people can look at us, but never touch or interact." Ryan nodded; he could understand where she was coming from. Her life was drastically changing before she could even get a grip on one thing, something else happened. Before they could say anything else the door opened and Dr. Lam walked out.

"She's all good to go. She just needs to have someone remove the stitches in two weeks." Dr. Lam said as Rob wheeled herself out of the room. She rolled her eyes. "Robin, I just put those in you. No strenuous activity please. Have fun with these two." She said shaking her head as she walked past Horatio who was rounding the corner.

"So what's the plan there Mr. Caine? Back to the hotel or what?" Rob said as she tried to get out of the wheelchair. Ryan held her in place with a small glare. "What? I'm not doing anything strenuous as she put it. All I want to do is walk out of here. I'm a citizen, I have rights." She pouted even though she knew fully well that it was every hospital's policy to have patients who are being discharged leave via a wheelchair. Robin looked at all three of them, her eyes locking onto Mick. She gave her a smile and held out her good arm for a small fist bump. Mick laughed and shook her head.

"You're such a nerd." Rob could tell what she really meant behind that single sentence.

"Takes one to know one." She said back with a smirk. Mick smiled and looked at Horatio. He had a small smile on his face as well, but was doing a good job of hiding it.

"You two are coming with us for now. Mrs. Warner will meet us at the Crime Lab and we will hash everything else out when we get there." Horatio said calmly. He waited a few seconds until a nurse came and handed him the paperwork.

"Before we do anything, I need something to eat." Rob said from the wheelchair. Ryan stopped pushing her and just looked down at her. "What? I got shot, can I get a little nourishment here or what? Mick, don't look at me like that! Remember you're the one who made me buy you 2 hamburgers after you broke your leg last year." Rob said attempting to cross her arms. She made it only a few inches before stopping. Mick stared at her friend and just burst out laughing. After nearly being killed and finding out all these secrets about themselves; she half expected that Rob would freak out at something sooner or later. She just didn't think it was going to be about food. "Stop laughing at me you traitor. It's your fault I'm in this mess!"

Mick stopped and put her hands on her hips. Glaring at her best friend, "How is this my fault?! You got yourself shot, don't blame me for that."

"You're the one who freaked out! Little miss I never freak out!"

"You're the one that followed me! Fine! We'll split the blame 50/50 deal?" She stuck out her hand, and Rob shook it.

"Deal." Rob said. She turned back to look at Ryan and Horatio who had stopped and just stared at the two. "Are you two okay? We didn't break you or anything right?"

"She's right. We are going to have fun with you two, aren't we?" Ryan said with a sigh, rubbing his face. "Food first and then we will go and sort out all the arrangements. Anywhere in particular?" He said as he pushed her out the front hospital doors. Robin stood up, Mick on her good side for good measure.

"Fast food. I really don't want anyone to stare at me."

"What she means is that she doesn't want any witnesses as she stuffs her face full of greasy goodness." Mick said with a smile. She had the feeling that it was going to be a long time before any real trust was going to be there, but it was a start.
