Author's Response to Reviewers' Questions:
1) Sakura is a magician and not a healer, so she won't be able to heal princess Kasumi.
2) Yue will be in the story but he won't be appearing anytime soon.
Chapter 8: Seimei
Sakura walked quietly and stopped next to Faust. It did not seem like a good time to talk to Ty about their arrival so she said nothing.
The doctor put Kasumi's arm inside the blanket and pulled the cover up to her neck.
"May I talk to you outside?" He asked Lady Izumi and both of them went out. Faust nudge Sakura on the arm so that she would follow them. Sakura closed the door behind her and went beside Izumi to listen to Kasumi's condition.
"It looks like it's a regular fever to me. You should not worry too much. Remember to give her enough water to drink and keep her body cool. These are ointments for the scratches on her body. If her body recovers, her fever should go away." He explained.
Izumi did not seem to surprise when the doctor told her it was a regular fever. That may be the case but the abnormal thing about it is that the rate of her recovery is super slow. The doctor also does not know about the unknown disease, so like every other doctors, they conclude that it is just a simple fever.
"Thank you." Izumi forced a smile as she paid him. She returned inside without saying anything else.
Sakura chased after the doctor and brought him to Syaoran's room.
Syaoran was laying on the bed casually. He had one of his knees up with both of his hand behind his head,
He opened one of his eyes and saw them walk in.
The doctor bandaged his wounds properly and instructed him to drink medicine and do not let his wounds touch water.
"You must have heard these instructions thousands of times before." The doctor smiled.
Syaoran grinned, "That's right."
"This is why I like treating warriors more. They have a tough body and aren't afraid of pain. If only that girl has a bit of your physical condition then I would not feel so bad."
"What happened?" Syaoran asked. Sakura sat at the edge of the bed and watched the two of them chat.
"The little girl I was tending to at first had many wounds on her body. It looked like cat scratches. People normally wouldn't get a fever from a light wound like that. I don't understand why she has such a high fever. Your wounds are much more serious than hers and you don't even look like you have a fever at all!"
Syaoran smiled and glanced over at Sakura as he spoke, "That's because I have a very good caregiver."
The doctor saw Syaoran look at her and laughed. He turned to Sakura and said to her, "Don't worry. Your husband will get better really quickly."
"H...Husband?!" Sakura's face instantly turned red. Even Syaoran seem to be embarrassed about it.
The doctor saw both of their expression, "You guys are not married? That's a pity. Both of you will make a good couple."
Syaoran laughed, "Thanks man! I'll try my best to make her mine!"
The doctor patted him on the shoulder, "That's the spirit young man! I'll be cheering for you! Such young love." He laughed along with Syaoran.
Sakura kept her mouth shut throughout the conversation and she could not help but turn red from all the teasing.
"You guys are mercenaries right?" The doctor asked and continued, "You should stay here for the week. The city is hosting a festival name Ai No Matsuri. We celebrate this once every year so you guys came by at a very good time."
"Ohhh festival?" Sakura's face lit up, "That sounds fun. What is the celebration for?"
"Do you know Seimei of the five gods?" He asked.
Sakura thought to herself. Seimei? Does he mean Ito?
She nodded pretending to know.
"Legend says, in the Era of Chaos, all people thought of was to live, live, and live. Within the turmoil, they eventually forgot what was most important to them, love. The five gods manage to stick together throughout the hard times because they had each other. And one of them called Seimei, the goddess of life, fell in love with a black elf called the Reaper. Through many hardships, they managed to get together, and this city is the place where they confessed their love to each other. Before going off to fight Reiton, Seimei promised the Reaper that she will return. Of course that never happened. Some people say that the death of Seimei was too overwhelming and the Reaper took his own life to follow her. Other says that the Reaper is still living today and is searching for Seimei."
Sakura was stunned and speechless.
The doctor continued, "This festival is our prayers to Seimei, hoping that she will hear our voice and let us guide her to him. This is also the time where we remember that no matter what kind of situation we are in, we will be able to get through it as long as we have family and friends supporting us. The five gods are comrades that support one another and this is the lesson, we as the future generations, need to learn."
"So this festival is to celebrate love and friendship." Syaoran commented.
"That is so touching…" Sakura murmured.
Syaoran chuckled," Are you so touched that you are actually crying?"
She wiped the corner of her eyes. It was not the way the doctor said it that made Sakura cry. It was the fact that she witness the romance between the two and it have become their legacy. She never thought that it would become a romantic story that girls wish to have.
The doctor laughed, "This festival is more for girls since the main theme is romance. Even my daughter is trying to find a husband this week. She tells me that if she finds one in this festival, her relationship will be blessed by Seimei."
"I'll definitely check it out!" She said happily.
After the doctor left, Faust came barging in with a small jar of ointment in his hand. Sakura recognize that it was the same one the doctor gave to Lady Izumi.
The room Syaoran stayed in was spacious and had two windows next to the beds. There are two single sized bed placed on opposite ends of the room, so the room was divided like a symmetry.
Faust climbed on the other bed and asked Sakura to put the ointment for him.
He took off his shirt nonchalantly and laid on the bed.
Sakura frowned when she saw the scratches. He is a prince. He must've never thought that this would happen to him.
"Do you...want to go back?" Sakura asked him. He knew Sakura meant the kingdom, but Syaoran thought she meant going back to her abusive husband.
Syaoran got up and walked over to them.
"No. I don't want to go back in this state." Faust buried his face in the pillow and continued, "When I saw the princess get hurt, I felt so hopeless and pitiful. I really want to protect her."
She smiled, "It is nice that you have the desire to protect. Next, you need to learn how to fight."
"I can teach him." Syaoran said. He did not want them to leave.
Faust turned around with a huge grin on his face. "Yes, please! Let's start as soon as possible!"
Sakura shook her head, "Syaoran needs to rest up and heal up his injuries. You can at least wait that much."
He pouted, "Fine."
Syaoran chuckled and ruffled his hair, "You taught him well."
Sakura and Faust looked at each other and bursted into laughter.
"Is that something that is suppose to be funny?" Syaoran raised a brow.
Sakura answered between laughters, "Ahh no. It is just some inside joke."
It seems like the lie about them being mother and son has become flawless.
"I see." Syaoran said.
"Are you sleeping here tonight?" She asked Faust. Sakura only got one room to save money. If Faust were to sleep in the same room then both of them would need to squeeze into a single sized bed.
He shook his head. "I want to stay with Kasumi."
She noticed that he did not refer to her as princess and just called her name. "Don't you think it is not good if you stay around her too much?"
"Why?" He sat up and stared at her. It has never crossed his mind about the differences between commoner and royalties. They are pretending to be commoners now and Lady Izumi might not like it if Kasumi fell in love with him. Even Sakura could see that Kasumi is starting to show her affection toward Faust and it worried her a bit. But it should not matter since in reality, Faust is really a prince. If they actually got together, it will be good for both of their kingdoms.
"Never mind." She said.
"Are you going to be staying here then?" Faust asked her.
She took a quick glance at Syaoran before responding, "We only got one room. So yes, I will be staying here."
"Ok. I will come here to look for you tomorrow." He wore his top and ran to the door.
"Don't do anything to my mother!" Faust said jokingly before disappearing behind the door.
Syaoran chuckled, "If I were to do something, it would have happened already."
She blushed, "Stop joking and go rest. We walked for the whole day today and didn't even get to rest. You must be exhausted."
"I'm not tired." He stretched his arms.
Sakura grabbed his hand and dragged him to his bed. Syaoran was very conscious about her touch but she did not seem to notice.
He sighed and plopped onto the bed.
"Jeez, don't you take off your shoes when you go to bed?" She asked and went to help him.
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "How nice would this be if I was actually your husband?"
"I'm only doing this because you're injured, don't think that I'll help you do this all the time!" She exclaimed.
"Darn," He looked away with a small pout.
She giggled at his childish side, "I see you have a cute side too."
"Whaaat?" His face turned red, "I've never thought that I would be described as cute."
"There's always a first." She winked. "I'll get you some food so stay in the room."
She left before he could say anything.
Sakura went down and ordered the food at the counter. She waited at the corner of the room, but suddenly someone grabbed her wrist.
She turned around and saw a drunk man with two friends behind him, snickering. The drunk man was pretty buff and had a small stache. He looked like an old pervert.
"Let go of me!" Sakura yelled.
He pushed her against the wall and leaned forward. A stranger grabbed his shoulder and he turned around.
"Whaddya want kid?" His words slurred.
"Don't touch a woman if she doesn't like it." The stranger stood up to him.
It was surprising because the stranger is a very thin man that does not know how to fight at all. His blonde hair was neatly gel to the side. His coat had a fancy design with a four leaf clover symbol on it.
The drunk man laughed, "Come back and be a hero after you've grown into a man, You look like a boy who have just came out from your mother's womb."
"My apologies but I am not trying to be a hero. I am merely trying to stop you from doing something you are going to regret later." The gentleman responded.
He guffawed, "This kid is teaching me a lesson."
His friend stopped him when he was about to punch the gentleman, "Hey don't do it. He's from the Shika family."
"Tsk." The drunk man withdrew his fist and pulled Sakura forward. "Either way this woman will be sleeping in my bed tonight."
Sakura tripped and fell on the floor when he pulled her. Her hood fell off and all of them fell silent. Even the gentleman was allured by her beauty.
"Ouch." Sakura winced and looked at her hand. It was bleeding.
"Hey, guys help me!" The drunk man said to his friends. His friends nodded, they were motivated by her appearance.
"Hurry up and move!" One of the friends yelled at her and grabbed her arm.
"HEEEY!" The gentleman exclaimed and tried to stop them again but they shoved him to the ground.
Suddenly, someone grabbed their wrist. The grip was so strong that they instantly let go of her.
"Syaoran!" Sakura cried out and he pulled her into a hug.
"Move out of the way before I hit you. We got our eyes on the girl first." The drunk man said angrily.
"You get out before I get serious." Syaoran warned in a dangerous tone and glared at them.
The drunk man did not hesitate to attack and punched Syaoran on the chest. It was like he just punched a wall. The man cringe from the pain on his fingers.
"One last time." Syaoran's voice lowered, "Fuck off before you anger me."
One of the friend launched a punch and Syaoran ducked.
Syaoran kicked him on the side of the head and he flew back. After spinning at least three times in mid-air, his body crashed into a table and fell on the floor.
The other friend took out a small dagger and charged at Syaoran.
Syaoran grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm.
"Ahhhh!" The man cried out in pain.
Syaoran used his other hand to grab his shoulder. His fingers dug into his flesh and into his bones. It felt like his bones was literally crushed. The man could not stand the pain and fell on his knees.
Syaoran did not let go and bent down so his mouth was near his ear.
"Well are you going to stay here or are you going to leave?" Syaoran asked.
"We'll leave! We'll leave!" He cried out painful.
The drunk man ran away and his two friends quickly crawled to the nearest door and got away.
"Syaoran are you hurt?" Sakura asked worriedly and clung onto his arm.
He grabbed her shoulder and yelled at her, "Why did you come down here alone?! You should have at least brought Faust with you!"
She was surprised at his outburst, "...Sorry."
He sighed, "Good thing I came down here in time."
The owner came to them, "You guys need to pay for all the things that are broken."
Syaoran sighed from annoyance.
"Excuse me." We turned our attention to the gentleman, "I am Sachi. The third son of the Shika family. Please let me pay for the expenses since I was unable to protect the lady."
Before they could answer, Sachi already handed the owner a bag of coins.
"Thank you." Sakura smiled, "How can we ever repay you?"
"This is nothing." He said embarrassingly, "It is a man's duty to protect a woman."
Syaoran frowned when he saw him glancing at her.
Syaoran pulled her hood over her head and place one of his hand around her waist to hug her.
Sachi looked at Syaoran and quickly looked away, "Sorry." He mumbled to Syaoran.
Sakura had a question look on her face but did not say anything.
"Why don't you guys stay over at my house. There will be less problems." He offered.
"I don't think that's a good idea. We have about fifteen other people with us." Sakura responded.
He smiled, "Worry not. We have plenty of rooms."
"We need to ask Ty first." Syaoran said.
"What happened?" Ty asked as he walked down the stairs. He saw the broken chairs and tables beside them.
They introduced Sachi to Ty and told him about staying at his place.
Ty hesitated for a moment, but after knowing that there was a family doctor that can look over Kasumi 24 hours a day, he instantly accepted.
The Shika family is the richest in the city. The house was more like a mansion. It only had one floor but it was spread out, taking up the whole block. The outside was a concrete wall with at least four guards standing at each door. When they entered the house, they were greeted by a garden with a statue of a horse in the middle. The horse was standing on his back two legs and around it is a small pond, where many small fish swam in.
"Master Sachi." The servants bowed as they walked pass.
"Prepare some rooms for my guests." He ordered.
"Yes sir." The servants said simultaneously.
All the rooms were built by wood that have a rich brown color. In the middle of the room, there is a circle table with a teapot and few cups. There are also four matching chairs that comes with the table. A king size bed is at the end of the room. There are two night stands beside the bed and each had fake plant on it. The stem of the plant twirled around a small pole and at the middle of the flower, there was a magic rock used for lighting up the room.
Ty carried Kasumi on the bed and slowly placed her down.
Lady Izumi left Faust and Prince Kiyoshi in the room and went out.
She bowed to Sachi. "Thank you for helping us."
"No problem." He smiled, "It is more fun with many people. This is a very big house, so many rooms are unused. Feel free to tell your friends to come here when they arrive. The doctor also lives with us. If anything happens, just tell the servants to get him.
"Thank you again." Izumi said and entered the room.
Conveniently, their rooms were next to the one Lady Izumi was staying in so it was easier to protect them.
Since Ty is the main guard, his room was directly next to hers. Next to his was Yamato, Syaoran, and then Sakura's room.
Ty and Yamato stayed with the Lady while Syaoran and Sachi took Sakura to her room.
"Yay we get separate rooms!" Sakura cheered and plopped onto the bed.
The two men near the door chuckled.
She turned around to sit on her bed and pouted, "What's so funny? It was so tiring always being together with men! There were so many things I had to look out for when I was with you guys."
"Hahaha." Syaoran laughed," We weren't that bad okay?"
"You guys just don't know!" Sakura giggled.
"Miss Sakura, will you be resting now?" Sachi asked.
"Yup! I want to have enough energy to go to the festival tomorrow!" She responded cheerfully.
"Then please rest well. A servant will tell you when food is ready." He smiled.
"Thank you!" She said as they closed the door behind them.
Right when the door closed, Kero poked his head out.
"Jeez, this is so bothersome. I don't even know why I'm hiding from them anyway." He groaned.
"You're hiding because Ty saw your true form. If he sees you know, there's no doubt that he will know that you are related to me." Sakura exclaimed.
He sighed, "This is sooooo dumb. If it was before, we would just walk in a populated city and not care about what others think."
"That's because our situation is very different. I'm warning you don't suddenly transform or else you're going to scare everyone!"
He laughed, "You just read my mind!"
"Noo!" She was about to grab him but he dodged and flew into the air.
"Hmph." She put her hands on her hips, "If you do it, at least do it outside the city walls so no one would see you."
"Yea. Yea." He said annoyingly.
"Can you stay at the gate and tell me when you see the others tomorrow?" She asked.
Kero looked at her dubiously, "You're kidding right?"
"Pleaseeeeee! It will take a while for the others to find us in such a big city." She begged.
"That's like telling me to be a guard dog…" He muttered under his breath.
She giggled, "You know that's not what I mean. Plus I really can't imagine you doing that."
He sighed, "Whatever. You better come visit me or I'll be bored to death."
"I have one more thing to talk to you about."
"What is it?" He wondered.
She told him about what happened with Masuo and how he might be related to the group that is trying to unseal Reiton.
He thought for a big before responding, "I'll try to gather some information and see if I can find a friend to follow him."
She smiled and grabbed him for a hug.
"You are crushing me!" He wiggled out, "Did you forget I'm in my weaker form?"
"Oopsies." She laughed.
Not long after, she went to eat dinner and came back into her room to sleep.
At the middle of the night, she woke up and went outside. She sat on the stairs in front of her door and looked up at the starry night skies.
"Beautiful…" She whispered.
"I agree."
Sakura jumped when she heard a voice. She turned around and saw Syaoran standing behind her.
"Shouldn't you be resting? It is really late." She asked.
He chuckled, "I can ask you the same thing."
"I couldn't go to sleep. There's so many things I'm worrying about now."
He patted her head, "You can tell me anything. I'll listen to you."
"Thank you, but I think I'll manage."
"Aren't you a strong one?"
She smiled without looking at him, "I've been through things that are much more serious than this. If I can handle that, I'll definitely be able to get through this."
"You know." He said and went beside her. She looked up from her seat. "I've always noticed that you like to look up at the skies."
"Really?" She was surprised herself, "I guess I unconsciously look up when I'm thinking."
"If you want a better look at the sky, you can always ask me." He grinned.
"What do you mean?"
"Stand up." He told her and she did what he said.
She was instantly lifted off the ground.
"Whaa...What are you doing?" She exclaimed when he carried her bridal style.
He leaped onto the roof and landed softly. He placed her down but held onto her arm incase she fell.
She smiled happily," Looking at it up here really is different."
Both of them sat down.
"There are so many things happening in my life. I never bothered to stop and look up. I never knew that the sky was so fascinating." Syaoran stopped for a few seconds and continued, "But I guess the most important thing is who you're watching with.
A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips when he said that.
"Do you know…" He looked at her when she started speaking, "Where I came from, no one would sit on the roof so leisurely in the middle of the night. Even during the day, we would prefer staying indoors since we were afraid of halves invading."
His eyes were full of wonder, "If you fear halves so much, why do you still stand up for them?"
"Because the more I traveled and the more I fought against them, I realize that their instincts override their will power. Even though attacking villages was not what they desired to do, they still couldn't stop themselves. After they regain conscious, they were consumed with guilt. Therefore instead of hate, I only feel pity."
"That's just what you feel right?" He asked.
She laughed knowing that he doesn't believe her, "I know because I've seen it with my own eyes and talked with them. But of course this does not apply to all halves."
"Everytime you tell me something about yourself, it is very different from what I have in mind. It just makes me want to know more about you." He said softly as he gazed at her.
She tried to look down but he pushed her chin up and her eyes met his.
His thumb traced her lip and he unconsciously caressed her cheeks.
"Syaoran…?" She whispered.
His gaze dropped down to her lips as his face inched closer.
Her heart beat increased drastically.
His hand traveled to the back of her neck and pushed her closer.
"Mother!"
Sakura gasped and both of them pulled away. It was so sudden that she lost her balance and Syaoran instantly held onto her as they fell, He pushed his feet against the edge of the roof, made a flip in the air, and landed safely on the ground.
"Faust!" Sakura exclaimed and pushed Syaoran away.
"What were you guys doing on the roof?" Faust asked.
"Let's go into the room first, "She pushed Faust inside as she ignored his question and quickly said goodnight to Syaoran before they entered.
"Why are you up so late? Aren't you suppose to be with the princess?" She asked when they closed the door.
"She just fell asleep so Lady Izumi told me to go sleep too." He responded, "Good thing I left. I saw a good scene at the garden."
She instantly turned red, "N...Nothing happened."
Faust smirked, "It really does not matter to me. I would feel really bad if you're holding back your feelings because of me. We are acting as mother and son, but in reality we are not. So if you really like him, don't hold back."
She ruffled his hair, "I have other reasons why I cannot start a relationship."
He yawned, "I'm sure you'll get out of the situation or else I will feel really bad for Syaoran."
"This is adults' business! Kids should not interfere!" She exclaimed.
He clicked his tongue from annoyance, "Adults stuff… even I understand what is going on. I don't get what is so complicated. If you like each other then just be together."
"If I can do that then I would. BUt there are more important things I must do now. Anyways, do you want to go to the festival with me?"
"What festival?"
"It's a festival about Seimei and the Reaper."
"Ohh! I know that. I should tell that story to Kasumi. She is going to like it." He smiled to himself.
Sakura giggled, "You must really care about her. I guess you'll be staying with her instead of coming with me right?"
"Yup." He nodded.
They fell asleep after chatting, and when morning came, Sakura went to the festival herself.
~ Sakura's P.O.V ~
"Wow. There's a lot of people even though it's so early." I whispered.
The streets were packed with people. Many small shops were opened at the side of the road. They were mostly food, accessories, clothing, and toys.
There were so many people that I felt like I was getting squished in the crowed. Everyone moved to the side when they saw a parade coming through. The people in the parade was marching through and the thing that caught the people's attention was a big stage that was carried by ten men. And on top of the stage, was a woman dancing on it.
The dancer's undergarments were visible since her clothings were almost transparent.
Her hips swing to the left and right as she danced seductively. She winked at the crowd and everyone cheered.
As I was watching, I suddenly caught sight of someone looked very familiar. I pondered for a bit and realized who it was. It was Dachi, the man who guarded my room while I stayed in the Castanea kingdom.
Another man approached Dachi. That man was Arata, the other guard.
Daichi pointed toward my direction as he spoke with Arata. I pulled my hood down and walked to the opposite direction.
I glanced back quickly and saw them following me.
I gasped and pushed against the crowd as I speed up my pace.
Did they see me at first? I had my hood on so they shouldn't have saw my face.
I also never interacted with them face to face before. So I hope they think they got the wrong person.
I groaned softly when they continued to follow me. I need to quickly get away before they catch me. I also can't head back to the mansion or else they'll know where I am staying.
When they were about a yard away, I broke into a run.
Darn. Faust is a prince so it is not surprising that they will send guards to find him, but I was hoping that they wouldn't find us this quick. As long as they don't see me after this, I will be pretty safe. There are a lot of people here so they will lose sight of me easily. They also won't openly look for Faust because if people found out that the prince is gone, the people will be uneasy. Publicly looking for him also increases the chance of him getting kidnapped so they will definitely look for him secretly.
I hid in a dark alley and watched as they ran past me. I sighed when I finally lost them.
This ruined my mood for the festival but it will be a shame if I just go back like this. I guess I'll just walk around more.
I bought some cut up pork that was on a stick and began eating it as I walked.
"Hmmm… So yummy." I squealed. I stopped by a shop when a necklace caught my eye. It was a shape of a flower with five petals. There was a pink gem in the middle and the stem of the flower curved down like a crescent moon.
The shopkeeper probably saw me staring at it for a long time and came up to me.
"This necklace is beautiful right?" He asked.
"Yea." I smiled as I responded.
"The pink gem in the middle is a lacrima." He explained.
"It's a crystal the enhances magic? That must be really expensive then." I commented.
He nodded his head, "Low level magicians and warriors uses magic rocks or magic stones. Higher level ones uses lacrima because the crystal is the strongest magic enhancer in the world and it will not crack under pressure if the user exerts too much power."
"Are you perhaps a magician?" I asked.
He laughed embarrassingly and scratched his head, "No, I only know them because my son tells me about them. He's only twelve years old but his dream is to be knight."
When he spoke of his son, it was obvious that he adores him. I could not help myself but smile.
"Your son must work hard to become a dark knight then!" I exclaimed.
He grinned happily, "Becoming a dark knight might be an impossible task seeing how strong they are. I am already happy if he would be able to summon a 6 layered magic circle."
"Do you know Shugojin of the five gods?"
"Yes, of course. Everyone knows about the five gods. Shugojin is the youngest out of the five. He is also one who can see spirits." He responded.
I smiled, "Did you know that he was only twelve years old when he started to fight against Sicarius?"
His eyes widened, "That young? I thought he was eighteen or nineteen."
I giggled, "That is why I believe anyone can become a dark knight as long as they put their effort in it."
He laughed, "That will definitely motivate my son to get even stronger!"
After talking for a little bit more, I headed to Kero.
Talking about the other 4 makes me miss them more. Eiyu is the youngest one out of all five of us. When we first met him, he was getting bullied because of his ability to see spirits. It was good that his weakness became his strength.
I've also notice that the people know us by our alias and not our real name. I think that is why the others haven't realize who I am yet.
The alias was given to us by the soldiers during our debut in the battlefield. It was not our purpose to become well known, but before we knew it, the people started to call us gods. But I guess it is not so bad afterall. Our appearance alone in the battlefield gave strength to the soldiers.
Not knowing if they will live or die, it is nice to have something to believe in. And we became the figure that gave them hope.
I can not even stress enough about what kind of danger the people in my era went though. If I told other people about someone wanting to unseal Reiton, they will probably laugh it off as a joke.
I never knew that doing things by myself is so hard. I guess Sora and Tadao spoiled me too much.
After visiting Kero, I headed back to the mansion. And by the time I got back, it was already late evening and supper time. Kero also did a good job helping me because most of the other mercenary have arrived.
While I was away, Princess Kasumi's condition worsened. I frowned when I heard the news from Faust. She started sweating since the afternoon and it hasn't stopped. She also seemed to be restless since she keeps tossing, turning, and groaning in pain.
This made me want to tell Lady Izumi about who I am so she can help me find Ito. If we do end up finding Ito, then perhaps she can heal the twins.
What held me back from saying it was that I have no idea how I can prove my identity. My powers are not fully recovered yet and I know that just telling Izumi that I am Maho no Megami will sound ridiculous. Even I wouldn't believe it someone told me that they were a god.
Scene Change. ~ Somewhere else in the city ~
A man sat on top of the city's brick wall. The city's wall acts as a defense to prevent enemies and demons from the forest. It is built with magic rocks with a thin layer of lacrima, which estimates to be at least 1500 meters tall. One must guess that he is a warrior or a magician in order to get up there because there were no stairs.
The man was covered in a black cloak with his hood over his head. He sat there alone and let the sunset hover over his figure. His heart ached as he stared at the ring on his finger. He closed his eyes and frowned from the pain.
He whispered to himself,"Where are you...my beloved Ito?"
