Chapter 8: Because she didn't realize
To the tree house
Fiona's pov:
I was just standing by the latter and all I could hear was Cake yelling about how prince Gumball needs us ASAP. "Who is it Cake?" I managed to yell as I moved to the couch. There was no reply so I decided I should probably go to the door. When I got to it I found Cake talking to a banana guard who seemed quite out of breath. The banana guard looked at me and gasped as if words were coming but at the same time they weren't.
Cake turned to me and rolled her eyes towards the guard. "He was sent by Gumball to get us. Apparently it's urgent…." Cake turned fully towards the banana guard who had seemed to have caught most of his breath.
"Well is there anything else?" The banana guard shook his head and then stared at us.
"Okay then I guess Cake and I should get going…" I turned to Cake and shrugged.
Cake ran back into the house and came out with my backpack. She stretched so that she could get us to the Candy Kingdom faster and then suddenly I remembered how out of breath the guard was. "Hey banana guard come on we got to go." He gladly hopped onto Cake. "So what's so urgent anyway?"
The banana guard only smiled secretively and said to me, in a whisper of some sort. "The prince has a surprise for you and Cake…. It's really going to …. Be math."
I looked at the banana guard sideways so confused by what he had just said. For some reason it hit something inside of me but I wasn't sure what. But while I was thinking of what the answer to my own question was I once again didn't realize something. I didn't realized Cake yelling "Fiona c'mon girl, what are you waiting for!" and I certainly didn't realize Cake instantly transforming into a somewhat scary monster to defeat what was in our path. I didn't realize she had done it so quickly that in the same instant I was quickly falling. And all because of me oddly being in deep thought - about everything at that moment. Because of me not realizing. I had technically killed someone. And I had put my life and everyone else's in danger. But like I said I didn't know. When it mattered, I didn't realize.
Now to the prince and Diamond
Diamonds pov:
I sat on the fluffy cotton candy smelling bed with pale pink and dark pink pillows. Then I kicked my shoes off to reveal two very light pink socks and smiled at the thought of me matching almost of the kingdom. Without thinking I rubbed both my big toes in circular motion on the floor making a slightly squeaky sound. Deciding to lay back on the bed I noticed a beautiful chandelier of white and pink crystals. "This room is lovely." I said out loud and then rubbed my hands on a close by ebony wood desk. Feeling something I sat up. And I opened up a drawer that was filled with photos. I glanced at them and the closed the drawer. "Probably not a good idea to snoop." Just as I was closing the drawer the Prince Gumball slowly walked into the room.
"I've been looking for you for an hour." He smiled and looked around." So you really think this is lovely?"
I and gave small smiled back. "Totally! And this room is just amazing." I stood up and looked around again. "So are they here yet?" I tried to put my shoes back on but somehow one of them managed to slide on the floor and go right under the bed. Without thinking I got on my knees and bent down to find my other shoe and leaned under the bed only to find that I wasn't going to be able to reach it if I was just kneeling. So I put the upper half of my body underneath the bed and continued to attempt to grab my run away shoe. Suddenly on the other side of the bed a hand shot out and nearly scared me to death. When I saw the hand I forgot I was under a bed and tried to sit up. And I just ended up banging my head pretty badly on the beds framing underneath.
Prince Gumball's pov:
When she bent down to retrieve her shoe I thought she looked rather funny. It took everything I me not to laugh at how she approached the situation. But my thought of laughing changed when she changed position after realizing how far back shoe must have really been. My will power was tested once again but this time on not staring at her, I doubt she thought about it though. But after five minutes of the shoe being just barely out of her grasp and my voice inside my mind saying how can you not stare I decided I should end that moment. So I simply walked over and grabbed the shoe and as soon as I did a heard a loud thump followed by a pained "great, that felt just awesome." Before I could ask Diamond if she was okay a banana guard knocked on the door. Which oddly was closed. I walked over to Diamond to help her up "come in its not locked." The banana guard busted through the doors huffing and puffing.
Diamond grunted as she put her shoe back on. "What's wrong?" Diamond and I said in unison as we both walked towards the guard. She was still adjusting her shoe onto her foot. He caught his breath and looked up at me worried like and said slowly "Fiona and Cake are half way here….. but they're fighting something…. Something big." I looked over at Diamond who had one hand on her bag and another balled into a fist.
"Oh dear…. where are our guards?"
As soon as the banana guard opened his mouth Diamond opened hers. "Can I see the thing they're fighting?" The banana guard looked up at me waiting for my okay. So I nodded and he grabbed her hand and ran off. And all you could hear was fast paced footsteps.
"Guess I'll join them." I walked back to the bed to pick up something I had noticed there once I helped Diamond up, a silver earing in the shape of a cross. I bent down next to the little dresser and picked up the earing and taped the drawer. "I should get a lock for that." I placed the earring in my lab coat pocket and then walked off into the hall and followed the sounds of footsteps and now squeaking sounds.
