Another chapter in Uriel's pov. (Forgot to mention that most BC's will be in Uriel's pov.) Please enjoy.
Irritated, and tired, I continued to drive to Indigo's in silence. The only thing that seemed to keep me focused, and alert was her. I still couldn't believe Harmony was my soulfinder. As soon as I entered her mind last night, it was as if something amazing had just given to me. Like I was breathing fresh air for the first time. Then came her memories, all the pain and sadness that was there. My chest felt like it was being ripped when I saw all of her suffering. Then we opened our eyes, and looked at each other, her eyes looked alive. She kissed me feverishly, and I returned it with equal passion. It wasn't until she reached for my shirt, straddling me, that my reason took control. It was a contradicting moment, feeling right and wrong at the same time. Safe to say, I didn't a second of sleep, and by the looks of it, neither did Harmony. I peeked at her through my peripherals. She was still looking out the window, dark circles under her slightly red eyes.
"You know, people are going to ask what happened." Specifically Indigo, and Vick. Harmony just sighed.
"Is this a subtle way of saying that I should tell someone? 'Cause if it is, I'd just like to remind you that I already have." Recalling her memories, she never told anyone the truth, even lied to Indigo.
"Indigo doesn't count. You haven't told her everything."
"What my secrets are, and who I tell them to is none of your business! You gave me your word that you wouldn't tell anyone what you saw, and that's all that matters." She snapped. The problem was that I knew her secrets, which made me involved whether I wanted to or not. I caught her pulling her phone, and earbuds out of her pocket. "Besides could you tell your brothers about something so horrific, and watch the guilt build in their eyes as you tell them?"
My hands tightened around the wheel. The truth was that I would tell my brothers. She murmured something I didn't catch, then I caught her putting in the earbuds and press play.
When we finally arrived at Indigo's mansion, I was ready to drop dead. I leaned back in my seat, closed my eyes, and sighed. Harmony had already exited the car, and was most likely inside by now, but two nights without sleep made me not care. I heard a tentative knock on the window, and peeked my eye open. I got out of the car, and stood under the umbrella Indigo held up, and gave her a tired look.
"I take it you're also not going to tell me anything, are you?" Saying nothing, I turned, and walked through the door, and up the stairs, into the first room I saw. Closing the door, I took off my shirt, and walked over to the bed, collapsing onto it. Hoping to automatically fall asleep, my mind at that moment decided not to cooperate. I heard the shower turn on, and groaned. Like this can't get any worse. A soothing angelic voice suddenly appeared, singing.
"My heart goes boom boom boom, every time I think of you. Inside it's boom boom boom, lost control, what shall I do? 'cause I wanna be your lover, till the end of our lives. I could never miss again, these loving eyes. Oh, boom boom boom." The soothing voice continued to lull me to sleep, until finally my body gave in.
I slowly returned to consciousness, vaguely noticing the warm spot next to me, and a pressure on my shoulder. I peeked open my eyes, and looked up to see Ms. Kavanagh, trying to wake me up.
"I brought in your suitcase, you and Harmony can discuss room arrangements later." I nodded tiredly, and attempted to go back to sleep, but then jolted awake by my mind. Why did she say Harmony and I could discuss sleeping arrangements? My eyes suddenly fell upon a suitcase, that wasn't mine. Groaning, I let head drop back onto the pillow. I didn't understand what was going on with me. Why wasn't I going to Harmony, and telling her the truth right now? I mentally kicked myself in the head, I knew the reason why. If I told Harmony right now, with all that's going on, that she was my soulfinder, there was a good chance that she'd runaway. On top of that, I have now outlived my usefulness. Sighing, I got up, and put on a new shirt. Hopefully, I could tell her when this was all over, and there was time. I exited the room, and headed downstairs for some food to eat. When I reached the base, I turned to head for the kitchen, but stopped when I saw Harmony. It took all of my self-control to not go to her, and show her who I really was. She crossed her arms, and glared at me, as if in defiance. Okay, that was it, if she was going to be stubborn, then I would to be as well. I strode towards her, and grabbed her arm.
"We need to talk." I pulled her into the study, and closed the door behind us. I reminded myself to be stubborn, then looked at her. "Okay here's the deal. I'm helping you find Adrian Black."
"You're funny." She replied sarcastically.
"I'm serious."
"So am I. You have no reason to do this, so why?" Because I'm your soulfinder. Somehow, I knew that now was really not the right time to say that. I went with the easiest response.
"Because you need it." She scoffed, and went past me. Be stubborn. Before the thought registered, I turned and slammed my hands on either side of her, just as she grabbed the knob. My heart was beating so hard, I could hear it pounding in my ears. She was so close, I could smell her hair, which reminded me of a forest. Ignoring the many thoughts of her going through my head, I continued with my conviction, being very careful with my words. "I know how you feel. I felt that through your memories, but if you keep doing things like this you're going to end up dead. I can sympathize with your goals, and that's why I want to help."
"Alright, I'll let you help me." She replied after a minute of silence. "But you cannot tell your family what you're doing. I don't want anymore people to accept this risk." She had turned around to look me in the eyes. I could see an underlying of fear in her own. My imagination kicked up again, and I barely resisted acting upon it. I focussed my mind on what she said.
"I gave you my word I wouldn't tell anyone right?" I asked disgruntled, she nodded. "Then trust me." I took my hands off the door, and left the room. I wasn't happy about this situation, but it was the only option left, and I would do whatever it took to protect her.
