I don't own The Hunger Games or Sucker Punch
BTW sorry this chapter is short
Chapter 8
I awaken to the smell of break fast. I put on a beige off the shoulder top and black leather pants. I fix my hair and put on my locket and go to find Devlin and Percy. They are already at the table eating.
"Mari, come join us", Insists Devlin who is pointing at a chair.
"Were having eggs benedict".
"Egg What?" I ask as a servant puts a plate in front of me. It has egg on top of bacon, which is on top of bread.
"So for the games", Percy begins.
"I think we should both give each other tips on survival since we don't have a victor".
As much as I would want to help him, I won't. I don't want him to win. I want to win.
"I don't really have any survival tips", I lie.
I could tell him to first find water or to not show off when training, but I think I'll keep those to myself.
"A hunter like you has got to have ways to survive".
Instead of replying I stare at the ground.
Percy looks really sympathetic, I think he feels bad for saying that.
"Well I thought of some, want to hear them?" He asks.
"Sure".
"Well first things first don't make fires at night, especially on the first one".
"It leads the carriers straight to you" I mention.
"Also when the games start, don't go for a bag. You'll most likely die in the blood bath".
Clearly Percy is trying to help. The least I can do is give him a little advise too.
"Find a source of water", I contribute. "Dehydration can easily kill you".
"Also don't have too many allies. You never know who will stab you in the back when they have the chance", I say harshly, thinking of Sweet Pea.
"You two don't have to worry about the games just yet", says Devlin, who cuts into the conversation.
"There still lots of time to indulge in Panem. Trust me, you will love it."
Suddenly the train enters a tunnel and everything gets dark. Percy and I pause for a moment in confusion. When the train gets out of the tunnel I get a glimpse of Panem.
"It's beautiful", I compliment.
"Indeed it is", says Devlin, looking out the window.
The train comes to a stop. People dressed in all sort of vibrant colours are lined up outside the train. I wave shyly and do me best to smile. After a brief moment, Devlin rushed us inside a very tall building.
"Come along, now" says Devlin, leading us into an elevator.
"They says district 1 is fortunate, but we get something they don't", begins Devlin.
"And that is?" Percy asks.
The elevator stops and the doors open to a very elegant room.
"The penthouse", she says walking out.
"I will show you your rooms and your schedule", says Devlin.
"Schedule for what?" I ask.
"Well you have to meet your designers and go to train, but don't worry, it will all fly by pretty quickly", She answers.
She brings us to a beautiful room with red walls and furniture.
"This room is for you, Mari" Mentions Devlin.
I leap over to the bed.
"Make yourself at home, but get ready to meet your stylist in an hour".
She closes the door and lead Percy to his room. I lie down to get some rest. I will need it for the long days of training that await me.
