New Chptr!

people on my pole have stated they want this updated more so that's what I'm a doin'.

Again, My bud BigLover is helping me with ideas.

Thanks are going out to her!

You wanna know something. I was looking back at the past chptrs and i never did say where the Cons and Bots had their symbols on them.

To clarify that, they are on the back of their jackets and shirts and they also have a small one on their back between their shoulders. But that last one will be seen later.

Okay,

On With Story!

As Birdy sat in the waiting room, she watched as the four drones rest around her with Kyle snoring so loudly that the rest of them had their arms wrapped around their heads except Derek who was using his new guitar. Birdy didn't mind the noise but she did mind how the doctors and nurses weren't telling them a thing about Starscream or just Star as they had put on his papers.

She and the rest of the Cons had stayed in the hospital for the night, against the governments wishes but Birdy could care less what they thought. Even though she had her reason for not liking the Cons, Birdy could stop herself from helping someone when they were hurt. She had seen enough hurt and pain that she didn't want to deal with anymore of it but trouble just seemed to follow her wherever she went against her wishes.

If she had her way, these Cons could go fall in a ditch but Birdy had promised William that she would look after them and that entitled that she treat them like she would with normal humans... which was a harder act to pull off then one would think.

But no matter how much her secrets kept her distant from the Cons she could hate these Drones that followed her around like ducklings. They kind of reminded of her brothers. And she really missed them, especially when...

Shaking her head, Birdy didn't want to think about that time. It was so long ago and things were different, she was different and nothing was going to bring back the good old days she had. Looking up, Birdy saw a nurse walk by and quickly moving Steve's legs off her she rushed over to the nurse.

"Miss, can I ask you a question?" Birdy said as she placed her gloved hand on the woman's shoulder. "Of course dear. What is it?" the nurse asked as she put her folder she had down on a table. "The man in that room," Birdy pointed to the room where Starscream was, "When will be able to leave?"

Looking through her folder again, the nurse pulled out a file and handed it to Birdy. "he will be able to leave today. I am surprised that he didn't break a bone when he was shot at. He will need to rest and allow his wounds to heal but aside from that if you want to leave now you can take him out." The nurse said as Birdy looked over the paper. "That's good. I'll give my friend a call and tell him to pick us all up."

Looking behind Birdy, the nurse saw all the drones still asleep and the two other men sitting in the waiting room but were staring out the windows. "Did you all really stay here last night?" The nurse asked and Birdy nodded. "Meg's really didn't want to but I said we were." Birdy said and the nurse raised an eyebrow. "Meg's?"

Seeing her error, Birdy quickly thought of something to come up with. "His middle name is Megan! We tease him about it by calling him Meg." Birdy fibbed and luckily the nurse fell for it with a smile. "That is some middle name for a man like him. My own son's middle name is nothing like that."

"What's your son's name?" Birdy asked. "Jackson but everyone calls him Jack." the nurse said with a smile. "He was staying at his friends house last night and hasn't called me yet. That's why I'm leaving early to go see him today." The nurse said as she looked to the clock. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go now if I am ever going to leave." Nodding her head, Birdy shook the nurses hand. "It was nice talking to miss?"

"June, June Darby. I would say I hope to see you again but this is a hospital and the people i normally see aren't in the best of shape." June joked and Birdy laughed lightly. "I understand. Have a nice day." And with that the nurse left and Birdy went back to the Cons she was watching over.

"So what did that femme have to say about our wounded seeker?" Knock Out said as he quickly shoved something into his pocket at seeing Birdy come over. "She said that Star can leave right now. I just have to get a hold of William and have him bridge us back to my house." Birdy responded as she pulled out her cell.

"Better wake them up while we're at it." Birdy said as she pointed to the four sleeping drones. Looking at them with a blank look, Megatron walked over to them and crossed his thick arms over his chest. "Wake up you worthless pieces of scrap!" he yelled out and it made each of the four men fall to the floor on top each other; Kyle on the bottom and Derek on the top.

Shaking her head, Birdy turned away when the other end of her call was answered. "William, the hospital says Star can leave today. Once we are outside can you bridge us home?" Birdy spoke into her cell. "Sure can do Birdy, But you're not going to like-"

"Thanks William. Talk to you soon." Birdy said before the man could finish and hung up on him. "I'll go get Star. Wait for me at the front desk so we can sign him out." Birdy said as she walked off. The drones went to follow her but when a growl came from deep inside Megatron's throat they all remained on the floor shaking wildly to the point that the strings on Derek's were making little tones.

As Birdy walked into the room where she knew Starscream was staying in, she was welcomed with no one in the bed and the sheets were pulled back. "Starscream?" Birdy called and when she heard a click she looked over to the bathroom door to see the seeker coming out with his clothes on but with a clean shirt and the blood was washed off his jacket. He still had a black eye and his lips were cut but for the rest of his injuries they were covered up.

"What are you doing up?" Birdy asked as she walked over to the seeker. "I am leaving. I cannot stand this place another minute!" Starscream said as he made to push aside Birdy but was stopped when his chest gave a painful lurch. Placing a hand on his chest, Starscream was about to fall if it wasn't for Birdy stepping in and holding him up."The doctors said to not push yourself too much. You're still healing and if you keep at it you will break something."

Snarling at the human, Starscream looked down at her with his hazel eyes but Birdy could see them change to a bright red for a minute. "I don't care human! I have had it with being treated like a weakling. If running away from all this mess is the only way to show that I am not, I will find a new life for myself." Starscream said as he shoved the human off him and it caused her to fall to the floor and crash into the wall.

Hitting her head on the wall, Birdy let out a loud 'OW' and placed her hand over the spot where her skin was tender. Seeing what he had done, Starscream went wide eyed and he didn't know why but he felt bad for doing this to the human. Bending down, Starscream held out his hand for Birdy to take and when she saw the open hand Birdy took it.

Helping her back to her feet, Starscream tried to say something but couldn't find his words. Watching Birdy rub her sore head, Starscream slowly placed his hand on Birdy's shoulder. "Are you alright?" Starscream asked. "Been better. It's not fun to be shoved into a wall." Birdy said angrily.

"...Sorry." Looking up at the seeker, Birdy gave him a confused look. "What?" Birdy asked and it made Starscream roll his eyes with a agitated sigh. "You heard me human. You wont be getting any more out of me." Starscream said as he stepped into the open doorway. "So are we leaving this horrible place or am I forsaken by Primus to stay here?"

Nodding her head, Birdy followed Starscream out and soon found themselves with the waiting group by the front desk. "About time you got here. What took you so long?" Knock Out asked as he placed his hands on his hips. "Nothing happened! Let's just get out of here already." Starscream shouted and Birdy walked up to the desk.

"Just sign here and he can leave." the desk lady said and Birdy did just that. "Alright than, have a nice day Miss Rejtély." The desk lady said and Birdy nodded before turning to leave with the Cons following behind her. "Rejtély? That's you last name?" Knock Out asked. "It is. It's Swedish, when translated it means Mystery." Birdy answered the red head as the exited the hospital through the doors. "Come on, we can walk to the back and William should have a ground bridge ready for us."

Walking to the back of the hospital, the group only needed to take four steps before a bridge appeared before them and blinded them with the light it had. "Well, lets head back than." Birdy said as she and the Cons walked in and unknown to her, Birdy's life was going to be turned down a horrible path.

OoOoOoOoOo

As Birdy came out the other end of the ground bridge with the Cons, she was going to talk with William and tell him what happened but that plan was changed when she saw the large helicopter standing in the middle of her front yard and on it was branded the U.S Government symbol.

"Oh swell." Birdy said with heavy sarcasm. "What?" Starscream asked. "There is only one person who comes to see me in that thing." Birdy said as she walked over to the front door with a dark cloud almost following her. Sharing looks among themselves, the Decepticons followed after the human as she stuck her arm into the slot to open the door. Once the door opened it relieved the Autobots standing there with Agent Fowler but with them was another man who looked extremely ticked off.

"General Brice, what brings you here." Birdy said coldly as she and the the Cons walked in. "You should know. You sure like to cause us trouble don't you?" Brice said as he put his hands behind him and stared Birdy into her green eyes. "General, it wasn't Birdy's fault. Things got out of hand and-" "You allowed Project Hybrid to step out into human society without my say so Bill! Besides you, this is her fault!" Brice said as he turned to the darker skin man.

"My fault?! How is it my fault?!" Birdy raised her voice. "How am I in control of thugs beating up someone?" Turning back to the younger woman, Brice pointed his finger at her. "You should have known better then to even think of stepping out to a populated area! What if you hurt someone?" Brice shouted and Birdy sneered up at him.

"I wont hurt anyone! But how could you know? Your kind never let me out to find out the truth!" Birdy shouted as she swatted the man's finger away. "My kind? Are you now calling yourself a different species now? Calling yourself one of them?" Brice asked as he pointed to the Decepticons and Autobots. "No, you kind as in government men!" Birdy screamed, ignoring the Cons who were stepping away from her and Brice.

"What of Bill? He works for the government." Brice asked. "He's different. He doesn't think like you stupid meat-heads." Birdy said as she made to walk around Brice but was stopped when the man held out his arm. "That attitude and temper of yours is the reason we keep you here. What if you got too angry with someone and attacked them?" Brice asked and what happened next no one saw coming.

With a quick glare up at the man, Birdy reached her arms out at him and swiftly flung him over her head and tossed him into a wall. "Like that? Attack someone I got too angry at do that?" Birdy said as she stomped over to the down Brice but was stopped when two pairs of firm hands grabbed her arms.

"Kid that's enough!" Agent Fowler hollered as he and Optimus pulled Birdy back. "That's alright Bill." Brice said as he stood back up. "It just proves how unstable this project is." Letting out an animal like growl, Birdy pulled at her holders and she even managed to pull them to the point where she was looking Brice in the face. "This Project has a name you know!" Birdy shouted.

"... As of right now Project Hybrid will be held up in the house until I see fit." Brice said and it made Birdy stop her pulling and she went still. "What? Y-you can't do that." Birdy said but it only made Brice smile. "I can and did. As of now, Hybrid is not allowed to leave withing ten yards of this house and if she does... the project will be terminated." Brice said and it made Birdy's blood go cold.

"Brice isn't that a bit extreme?" Agent Fowler asked as he let go of Birdy seeing as she wasn't going to move again. "Not with this Project. I expect a full report on why you allowed her out without permission Bill by tomorrow. Good night." and with that Brice left the house, leaving Birdy standing there in shock.

"What was all that about?" Smokescreen asked. "Brice is the head leader in... a Project called Hybrid." Fowler said as he looked back at the Cons and Bots. "We got that," Ultra Magnus said as he pointed to Birdy. "But what does this have to do with her?" Looking back at the woman, who was still staring at the door, Agent Fowler frowned. "Everything."

Walking over to her, Fowler placed a hand on Birdy's shoulder only to have her shrug him off. "Why William? Why let me go out when we both know Brice hates it when I leave?" Birdy asked, not looking him at all. "It's not right what they do to you kid and you need to get out even if they you don't think so." Fowler answered. "But I didn't think something like this would happen."

"... No one seems to be thinking a lot lately." Birdy said as she finally turned to face everyone. Her face was a flushed pale color and her eyes were filled with a sorrow only she knew. "I should have known that going outside was too good to be true. Next time William, when you think I need something... don't bother." Birdy said as she walked past the agent and into the living that had the stairs that would lead to her room.

The drones were about to follow but when both Arcee and Knock Out held out there arms they stopped. "She needs some time alone. Which means you are not to be near her." Knock Out said as he looked at Arcee who nodded. Getting the clue, the drones stepped back with sad eyes.

"You need to explain somethings to us Agent Fowler." Optimus said but the agent shook his head. "Can't Prime, I'm not allowed to. And I don't think Birdy is in the mood to tell you guys." Turning to the door, Agent Fowler turned to back tot he Cons and Bots. "Give her time to cool off will you. She's used to living alone and not sharing her emotions too much." And with that the agent left the Cybertronians in a fit of questions.

"What do you think Project Hybrid is, Optimus?" Ratchet asked as he saw the Prime staring down at his hands. "Commander?" Wheeljack said and it finally brought the Prime out of his thoughts. "I do not have the slightest idea, but I believe those questions will be answered in time." Turning to the living room, Optimus and the others started to walk up the steps.

"I think it is best we turn in for the night. Too much chaos has happened today." Optimus said and even though Megatron didn't want to listen to the Prime, he was right. This day, the past few of them, were too crazy for even his tastes. As everyone walked up, they all saw that out of all the doors that were open, the very last door at the end of the hall was close shut and from the silence that came from it they figured Birdy was in there.

As everyone walked to their respected rooms, they could peel their eyes away from the closed door and the secrets that lay behind it.

OoOoOoOoOo

As the night rolled on, Optimus couldn't sleep. The mystery that surrounded him was all centered on one thing... or person as the case would be. Birdy was holding something from them all and it seemed to be a big one if Fowler couldn't speak of it. Rolling over in his bed, Optimus looked at his men to find them sleeping silently. He was about to roll onto his other side when a grumpy voice spoke out.

"Optimus, if you turn again I swear I will find a wrench to hit you upside the head with." Ratchet said from atop the bunk. "Forgive me Ratchet. I am just having trouble sleeping." Optimus said truthfully but the medic only gave him a huff before peering over the top's edge. "I can tell because you are keeping ME up. Go for a walk or something, cause Optimus... I am at my wits end with your tossing and turning."

Smiling up at his C.M.O, knowing that the medic could be very crabby as the human say when tired, Optimus nodded and pushed himself out of bed. "Sorry for keeping you up Ratchet." Optimus whispered as he walked out. "Stay out there at least until I fall asleep Optimus." Ratchet said as he pulled the covers back over him.

Closing the door slowly, Optimus turned to the hall and found that it had a source of light coming from a room that was emitting the light was none other than the room Birdy was staying in and curiosity got the better of the Prime as he walked over to it. Peaking his head in, Optimus saw no signs of Birdy but what he did see confused him.

The room was filled with small objects on shelves that looked extremely old. Some were toy trucks with missing wheels and rust covered them, others were picture frames with half burnt photos, and the rest were things so disfigured that Optimus couldn't even figure out what they were.

Seeing that he was putting his nose where it wasn't supposed to be, Optimus stepped away from the door and started to walk down the hall to the stairs. As he slowly walked down them, Optimus soon found the human woman sitting in a futon next to a window as she gazed out into the star night with a hand on the glass.

Once he reached the bottom, Optimus thought about what he should say and as he walked close to the human he soon found that his words wouldn't mean anything as a voice called out to him. "I am not trying to be rude Optimus but I would really like to be alone." Birdy said as she continued to look outside.

"I understand." Optimus said but... he really knew that she didn't. "Just like how I understand you blame the Decepticons for your current imprisonment." Glancing at the taller man, Birdy sighed loudly before taking her hand away from the glass. "I don't blame them Optimus. Quite the opposite really." Birdy said as she pulled the blanket on her shoulders to cover her better.

Raising an eyebrow, Optimus was confused a bit but after thinking about it he figured out what Birdy meant. "You shouldn't blame yourself." Optimus said as he sat down next to the olive eye colored human. "Yes I should. It's my fault that I went out. And it's my fault that Starscream ended up in the hospital." Birdy said as she looked at the Prime's reflection in the window.

"I highly doubt you can blame yourself for that." Optimus said as he placed a hand on Birdy's shoulder. "... I guess not. I was the one to get him out of that problem." Birdy said with a smile but it was short lived as her face went downcast again. "Something else is bothering you." Optimus said and Birdy nodded. "When We were taking Starscream to the hospital, he almost..."

"Almost what?" Optimus asked seeing the worry come to her eyes. "His heart gave out half way there. In all retrospect, Starscream was dead." Birdy said as she tugged more on her blanket. "Megatron was with me in the ambulance and when the poor medic told us he was dead, he nearly tore off the man's head. Luckily I saw some shock-pads in the corner and persuaded the guy to use them." Birdy said and Optimus was wide eyed at this new news.

"The medic said we were lucky. If we had waited a second longer Starscream would... you know." Birdy said as she finally looked Optimus in the face. "But that is not what is troubling you more. Is it?" Optimus asked and Birdy shook her head. "What is bothering me is the fact that when Starscream was laying there, Dead, I felt... drawn to save him." Optimus was yet again confused. Why would she think wrong in saving a life.

"And out of everyone I don't want to get attached to is you Autobots and these Decepticons. Don't get me wrong Optimus, you have been very kind and polite but... troubles from my past keeping popping up and the Autobots and Decepticons are smack dab in the center of them." Birdy said and at this Optimus was more confused. How did they play a part in Birdy's life? They had only met a few days ago.

"I'm sorry Optimus. Here I am chatting your ear off when you should be sleeping. Sorry for keeping you." Birdy said and Optimus could see it in her words that she wanted him to go... now. "It was no trouble. I just wish I understood your problems so I could help." Optimus said as he stood up and turned to leave.

"Good night Birdy." Optimus said from the stairs. "Night Optimus." Birdy said as she turned back to her window. As Optimus walked up the steps, he looked to his hand again. The first time he held Birdy's arm firmly in his hand, When Brice had made a scene, he had felt a familiar cool to them. He knew humans were to be at least warm to the touch normally but... the feeling Optimus felt on Birdy was cooling and had an energy to it.

Optimus couldn't put but he had felt that feeling before. But where, he couldn't place.

As he reached the top, Optimus was slammed into by a short being who gave an 'oomph' from colliding into his white shirt covered chest. Looking down, Optimus was met with the red haired Knock Out who was looking up at him in worry. "What are you doing up?" Optimus asked dryly.

"I...uh... I was looking for the human wash facilities." Knock Out said as he quickly shoved his hands into his pockets. "They are over there." Optimus said as he pointed Behind Knock Out who looked over to it with a defeated look. "Oh. I see. Well, thank you Prime. Night." Knock Out said as he went over to the door. Seeing that the Con was going away, Optimus walked into his room and was lucky to find Ratchet snoring away with his hand hanging over the edge.

At the sound of the Autobot's door closing, Knock Out quickly turned around and scurried over to the stairs. Hurrying down them, Knock Out saw Birdy standing up from her futon and she turned to see him standing before her. "Knock Out? What are you doing up?" Birdy asked as the medic walked over to her with his hands in his pockets. "I wanted to give you something."

Giving the Con a confused look, Birdy watched as he pulled his hand out of his pocket and used his other one to pull hers to him. Opening her hand, Knock Out dropped the content he had with him into the woman's hand. "I wasn't lying when I said it matched your eyes." Looking down at what she was giving, Birdy nearly fainted at what it was.

In her hand was the necklace, the one from the shop, and it was even more beautiful out of the glass. The heart shape jade color crystal was shinning brightly and the silver chain on it was lovely to the eye. Looking up to the red head, Birdy was speechless and Knock Out only gave her a winning grin as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Knock Out... I can't accept this." Birdy said as she went to give it back but the Con only pushed it back. "Yes you are. It will look no better on anyone but you." Knock Out said as he watched the woman look at it and back at him. "Knock Out, how did you even get this? You didn't steal it did you?" Birdy asked and the medic only scoffed.

"No. I bought it like a good little human would. Well, the government did but it was meant for you." Knock Out said as he took the necklace and proceeded to wrap it around Birdy's neck. "Knock Out, really I-" "Enough human. I am giving this to you and you will take it. No more excuses." Knock Out said as he pulled Birdy's brown hair back and locked the necklace around her thin neck.

Walking back around, Knock Out looked at Birdy and smiled. "See, I told you. It suits you and brings out those lovely eyes of yours." Knock Out said as Birdy pinched the green rock between her fingers. Birdy had to emit it... it was beautiful and she really did want it. Looking up at the red head, Birdy smiled and nodded. "Thank You."

"OH, don't go all mushy on me. I hate that stuff. I only got that for you cause it would be fitting for another human to have it." Knock Out said and Birdy nodded. "Very well. But I really mean it. Thank You." Birdy said and Knock Out could help it as a smile escaped him. "It's late. We should be getting into recharge." Knock Out said as he held his hand out for Birdy and even though she was reluctant Birdy took it.

She didn't want to get attached to any of these people but in the darkness of her recent imprisonment, Birdy needed something to smile about.

As Knock Out led the human up the steps, neither of them saw the pair of eyes dart away before they reached the top. Before they could find out that said eyes had been watching them for a while.

Watching them like a pair of amethyst orbs.
