Chapter 6

Nancy's POV:

"What do you mean you think the kidnapper is after you?" George asked. "And who do you think did it? There's way more than a few people who'd want to have their revenge on you. Did you tell Cammie's friends yet?"

"Not yet, it's just a hunch. I want to wait until I'm sure I'm right." I said. "I don't even know why anyone would harm Cammie, but I'll find out."

"Of course you will." Bess told me, then went back to eating her sandwich.

"How can you eat at a time like this?" George asked her cousin.

"I haven't eaten anything all day." Bess said. "Besides, you shouldn't go sleuthing on an empty stomach. Right Nancy?"

"Um, sure." I said. Bess kinda had a point, but food was the farthest thing from my mind.

I said goodbye to Bess and George, walked out of the lobby and into the theater once more. It looked exactly the same as it did the last time I was here. I turned, not really sure what I'm looking for. I look up at the balcony and see the silhouette of a person in the projection room. My first thought was that it was Zach or one of his friends. I left the theater and walked upstairs to the projection room, but when I got there the room was empty and the trapdoor in the ceiling was open. Zach and his friends couldn't have done this.

I climbed the latter into the passageway. The door was open, leading to the room where they control the marquee. The room Maya was held in when she was kidnapped. Everything looked the same as it did before, except there were scuff marks on the floor, as there has been a struggle. They weren't there before.

"Another secret room. Why am I not surprised." I turned around to see Bex walking into the room.

"Cammie was here." I said. "The kidnapper moved her. She's not in the building." I went downstairs to call Sgt. Ramsey.

Cammie's POV:

Woke up to my head pounding. Judging by room, I was no longer in the theater. I was lying on the couch in a small apartment. I got to my feet as slow as possible. I felt nauseous. My kidnapper was nowhere to be seen. I walked to the door and used this opportunity to escape. I was in no condition for fighting the kidnapper. Unfortunately, the front door was locked from the outside.

My phone wasn't in my pocket and after searching the room, I found it in the trash can. My first thought was to call Zach or my friends or my mom, but I had no idea where I was. So I called the next best thing: 911.

"St. Louis police department. What's your emergency?"

"Um, I was kidnapped. I don't know where I am. I think I have concussion." I said. It was harder to think straight.

"Don't worry, Miss. An ambulance is on the way. What's your name?" The man asked.

"Cammie. Cammie Morgan." My were getting blurry. The room started to spin.

"Don't worry, Cammie. Help is coming."

"Please hurry." I hung up and tried to keep myself from throwing up. I laid down on the floor and waited, hoping that the next person through that door was the police and not my kidnapper.
