A/N: Hey everyone, the next chapter of Dragon and Hunter is here, hoped you saved room for it. Silliness aside, I have not been able to contact any artists for cover art, but that is fine, some cover art is not necessary for this story to continue. That and I know what I was asking was a lot compared to how little I actually offered in return.

Again, Necron Dragon Lord of D.A., thank you, some of the parts in this chapter I would not have had the inspiration to make. Also, just out of my curiosity, a few reviews of this story have mainly been commenting on Zar's own actions, but some things like Storm's father being Volteer, or the fact that Storm finally kissed him last chapter, I am wondering why no one so far has commented on this? Just curious.

Disclaimer: see Prologue. Without further ado, please read, review, and enjoy.

Zar's eyes and mandibles widened as Storm kissed him. It was a shock for the hybrid, why was Storm doing this, his father had explained the concept to him before, but the Yautja didn't kiss, seeing as they had mandibles instead of lips to speak of.

His eyes were still locked on Storm's, the grey color drawing him in as they reflected the light. Being so close to her; it felt, right, to the hybrid. He didn't understand, he had known her for so little time, why was he reacting like this?

As Storm drew away, she blushed, the red contrasting with her yellow scales in a way Zar found, attractive, to the hybrid's surprise.

"Zar, I…I," she stuttered, looking down at the branch they perched on, still blushing.

"Storm," Zar said, the simple word drawing her attention as she looked at him again.

Zar found himself initiating the kiss this time, slowly bringing his muzzle to hers, their lips softly making contact. During this, Zar found his eyes unconsciously closing, and noticed Storm's doing the same.

Storm was slightly surprised that Zar had initiated the contact this time, but it made her glad. She accepted the hybrid's hesitant kiss, her eyes closing in her joy. She felt her chest bloom with warmth, as if Zar was giving her some of his inner fire through his kiss, and she felt lighter than air, as if she could suddenly float away on the breeze.

The feeling scared her slightly, but she let it be drowned out in the tide of other feelings for the moment.

As their kiss deepened, Storm felt Zar's mandibles caress her jawline where they could reach, and sometimes along her snout. She didn't draw back from the contact; in fact, it made her enjoy it more, this was part of who Zar was, and it made him much more unique than any other dragon.

After approximately 27 seconds, Zar drew back, ending the kiss. He looked into Storm's eyes, and found a smile drawing at the corners of his mouth. The dragoness was smiling too, albeit more demure. Zar saw Storm look down below the branch, and she gave a slight giggle. Upon looking, the hybrid found that their tails had twined around each other without either of their notice.

Slightly embarrassed about not being in control of himself, Zar looked at Storm again, to find that she was scooting closer. Now instead of being a few centimeters away, Storm was nuzzling up to him, putting her head under his chin and her body rubbing against his side, and finally resting her head on the side of his neck, right over his shoulder.

Having her so close made Zar slightly uncomfortable, but also warm, again it felt that she belonged right there, at his side. The hybrid nuzzled the top of her head, not entirely sure what he was doing, yet it felt right. Zar and Storm looked at the sunset together, content in each other's presence.

"Having fun up there," Cynder's voice called from below, startling the two dragons.

Storm immediately scooted away from Zar, their tails rapidly unwinding from themselves. Both Zar and Storm turned three different shades of red as they turned to answer Cynder.

To Zar's heightened embarrassment, and it seemed Storm's mortification, not only was Cynder standing below them, but Spyro, Ember, Flame, and even Sparx.

"H—How long have you been standing there," Storm called down, to assorted chuckles from the three males, and a giggle from Ember.

"Long enough," Flame answered, continuing to chuckle with the others.

Zar took a quick look at Storm, and then the two dragons leaped from the branch and glided down to the group.

"What did you hear?" Zar asked curtly, still unable to rid the blush from his face.

"A little," Ember answered, then added, "Not that there seemed to be a lot of talking," she giggled.

"What is so funny," Zar asked with a slight growl.

This made the dragons sober up, "Relax Zar, we're just teasing," Spyro tried to assure the hybrid.

At this Zar relaxed the red fading from his cheeks quickly. "You guys won't tell my dad about this will you?" Storm asked the others hesitantly.

This got cocked heads, "Why," asked Cynder.

Storm blushed a little more now, looking as Zar quickly before looking at the ground, drawing in a circle in the dirt with a claw, "It's just, with Zar's meltdown earlier, no offense, I don't know what he, or the other Guardians think about him, or the citizens of Warfang for that matter," she explained.

Zar felt his head and tail droop a little again in remembrance of his display, the harsh beating delivered to Torch was not his best moment, one he didn't wish to repeat ever again. He did remember seeing the famous city of Warfang as he had approached the Temple with Spyro and Cynder, but hadn't paid much attention, preferring to focus on getting his ship back.

It was then that the group heard footsteps rushing towards them from the foliage, and then the three Guardians burst into the clearing around the tree, coming to a halt in front of the young dragons.

"Ah, there you are," Cyril said, looking over all of the dragons in the group.

"We were wondering where Zar went to," Volteer added, nodding to the hybrid.

"Regardless, we have come to deliver the consequences of your actions," Terrador cut in, to various exclamations from the group.

"What, why," Cynder stated, the Earth Guardian looking at the black dragoness, and then addressing the group as a whole.

"As I am sure some of you know, Warfang is the only dragon city that doesn't owe allegiance to one monarch or another," he rumbled. Zar remembered to his father's stories of the legendary city, the Guardians, at their full strength, acted as the city's main protectors, while a militia drawn from the citizenry bolstered their numbers. It was the presence of the Guardians that allowed Warfang its independence, as the Temple there provided a place of training for many of the next generation.

After pausing to see who did or didn't know this fact, Terrador continued, "And with us weakened from the war, in numbers and morale, we had to ask for aid from the other Kingdoms in the area, and that includes King Magmus, Torch's father."

"And after that little, incident, earlier, Torch has left for home," Cyril continued, his face grave.

"King Magmus wouldn't think of invading Warfang, would he?" Storm asked, her voice quivering slightly, Zar wanted to go to her, make her feel safe, but he remembered her words earlier, and stayed still.

"We can't know for sure," Volteer answered, his own tone matching Cyril's, "We will just have to wait and see."

It was then that a mole ran up to the Guardians, panting heavily. The small creature hurried to Terrador, the green dragon lowering his head so that the mole could speak into it. The hushed tone of the messenger was beyond even Zar's hearing, but after it was done, the Earth Guardian looked to his compatriots, "It seems that the sentries have spotted a strange dragon flying to the city, and there is something riding them, we must go, and we want all of you to follow us."

The entire group took off from the gardens, the adults waiting so as to not buffet the younger dragons with the winds of their own takeoffs. The flight allowed Zar to observe Warfang in more detail; the intricate stone buildings reflected the dying light of the sun, turning the city into a bright orange spectacle. Zar could observe dragons of all sorts of colors roaming the streets, many looking up to watch the Guardians and those following them, some waving or greeting them as they flew. The Guardians kept the group moving however, and they quickly reached what Zar concluded to be the western wall of Warfang, setting down on the wall and gathering to hear the report.

"Where did you see this dragon," Terrador asked a sentry, a mole that was wearing what appeared to be chainmail armor.

"Over there, coming in fast," the mole answered, pointing five degrees away from the setting sun.

Zar wished he had brought his mask, the built-in zoom would have been handy, but it appeared to be unneeded as a spyglass was handed to Cyril, who then muttered something and passed it to Volteer, who gave it to Terrador. Mumbling to himself, Terrador passed the glass to Zar, the hybrid looking at it curiously, "Does that look familiar to you," he asked the hybrid.

Looking into the adult sized spyglass, it took Zar a little adjusting to find the right angle. What he saw made him pause, his mouth gaping slightly.

"Zar, who is it," Cynder asked.

"My, parents," Zar answered, sounding stupefied.

The entire group was struck speechless by this declaration, many mouths slightly hanging open. Shaking themselves out of their reverie, the Guardians immediately started muttering amongst themselves, the nearby sentries stood waiting for orders, looking between them and the sky, where the approaching pair were now visible without a spyglass.

It didn't take long for Zar's parents to reach the wall. When Skyclaw landed on the wall with a loud thud and whoosh of air. Taking in his father's armor, Zar was amazed at how it reflected the blazing light of the setting sun. Skyclaw's armor was based off of the armor used by dragons, with metal plating over the chest, back, belly, and plates connected by chainmail running down his tail. The Yautja had augmented it by exchanging the chainmail with the material that made up their bodysuits, and the helmet, that had previously left the face uncovered, was replaced with a mask that covered the top of his head and part of the back. The symbol of the clan, a circle encompassing the glyph of balance, was engraved on the mask, as Zar knew it also graced his father's forehead.

The hybrid also noticed that his mother was armored in her full battle gear as she hopped down from his father's back. Mela'ra was equipped with the traditional mask, gauntlets, and bodysuit, while also wearing metal shin guards and pauldrons, with a leather bandolier worn around her torso. He could also see at her hip was her Shuriken, folded into a simple circle of metal, and he knew on her back was her combi-stick. From the bandolier Zar could see various pieces of Yautja tech, notably the healing shards, as well as some of his mother's good luck charms from previous Hunts.

As the pair approached, Zar noticed the sentries tense, especially at the sight of the unfamiliar weapons. Noticing this, Terrador took control, "Stand down, they don't mean us harm," he ordered.

Reaching the group, Skyclaw and Mela'ra stopped, standing before the Guardians and looking them in the eye. Almost as one, the dragon and Yautja reached up, the seals on their masks releasing a hiss, and removed them from their faces. Revealing Mela's mandibles and Skyclaw's bright red-orange scales.

There were slight expressions of awe upon the reveal of Mela's face, with her mandibles flexing slightly after being cooped up in her mask, and Skyclaw giving a smile to his brother's friends.

"It is good to see you again my friends," Skyclaw greeted the Guardians.

"Us, you're the one who joined a clan of alien hunters," Volteer replied, "We thought you were dead for all these years," he added.

Skyclaw chuckled lightly at Volteer, "Well, it's not like I could send you a message," he replied lightheartedly.

"Be that as it may," Cyril stated, "It is good to see you again Skyclaw."

"Indeed," Terrador affirmed.

"And this must be Mela'ra," Volteer greeted the Yautja Huntress with a small bow, the other Guardians doing the same.

Mela'ra acknowledged them with a nod, looking over the group of young dragons, before her eyes rested on Zar. She surprised them all by rapidly walking over and standing in front of Zar, towering over the other young dragons, before crouching and embracing her son.

"I missed you Zar," she said in thickly accented Draconic, the dragon tongue. Zar was momentarily surprised before he hugged his mother back.

"I missed you too Mother," Zar replied before being released.

Mela walked back over to her mate, standing beside him as he sat down. "So, are you going to tell me what's going on or am I going to have to ask my son what happened," Skyclaw asked.

With a small start, the Guardians quickly got back on topic, "Yes, of course, come with us, there is much to talk about," Terrador said with a motion to follow him. Mela'ra jumped back onto Skyclaw's back, and the group of dragons flew back to the Temple.

Storm watched Zar closely as the group flew back to the Temple, the hybrid seemed worried. She flew closer to him, and put her snout close to his ear, "Zar, what's wrong," she whispered.

"I don't know, my parents are in their full armor and weapons, something is up," he replied in another whisper.

The pair remained silent for the rest of the flight.

Upon reaching the Temple, the large group immediately walked to the same chamber where Zar had met with the Guardians earlier. Once the doors closed, Skyclaw removed his mask again as did Mela'ra. Storm was still slightly in awe of the tall Yautja, not only was she Zar's mother, but also the equivalent of a Princess in the Dragon Realms. It certainly showed in her posture, she did not back off or seem unnerved by the Guardians in the slightest, not even Terrador's bulk seemed to cause her any unease.

It was then Skyclaw related his story, of how during the war he had met with the Yautja in the middle of a skirmish with apes. He also told how Yautja were often attracted to chaotic warzones such as those, since in all the uncertainty it was hard to tell the Yautja inflicted casualties from the others. He also explained how he had bested the lead Hunter of the group sent there, Mela'ra's brother and Elite Arragol. In doing so he had gained the respect of the clan, and he had been asked to join them. When the Guardians inquired why he accepted, Skyclaw told them that he had done so for the lure of adventure that came with it, and how he never regretted his choice.

After listening to some of Skyclaw's stories of his Hunts with the Yautja, it was the Guardians' turn to tell their story. Watching Skyclaw, Storm saw how he visibly drooped and grew shocked at the telling of the capture of the individual Guardians and the battle between Cynder and Spyro. During the tale of the Eternal Night, Skyclaw grew somewhat anxious, and even growled a little when he was told of Malefor's release.

During the stories of the three years between the battle and Spyro's return, Skyclaw listened with a stoic expression, which then turned into a small smile as he heard of Spyro and Cynder's accomplishments.

It was then the Guardians related the news of Ignitus' death, and Skyclaw's head lowered slightly as a sad expression crossed his face. Seeing her mate's expression, Mela'ra put a hand on his shoulder; Skyclaw gave her a thankful look and regained his composure.

After the entire tale was finished, Skyclaw asked, "So, what happened during my son's visit here?"

As the Guardians told Skyclaw of Zar's visit, Skyclaw and Mela'ra seemed to not be surprised as they were told of Zar's destruction of the grublins. However, when they were told of Zar attacking the cheetahs and Spyro and Cynder first, his parents sent small glares his way, and to Storm's surprise the hybrid quailed under them. As the story continued, Zar's parents seemed to focus more on the story than their ashamed looking son. However, upon learning of how Zar interacted with Torch, and how Zar had nearly killed him, Mela'ra turned on her son with a glare that could have incinerated him on the spot; Skyclaw's glare wasn't far behind. To Storm's further surprise, she thought she heard Zar whimper under this renewed assault.

Thinking quickly, Storm gave him a small nudge with her shoulder, hoping no one saw it, to try to comfort the hybrid.

Looking back around, Storm saw that Zar's parents were marching towards them, not looking very happy. The yellow dragoness quickly moved out of their way.

"Zar'thekoth, we told you that you have to control your anger," Mela'ra stated to him in Draconic, using his full name, making Storm wince.

"I know, there is no excuse for my behavior," Zar said, his head hanging.

Skyclaw's expression softened, and Storm hoped there might be something good he had to say, "Be that as it may, you were defending your friend, and you managed to put Magmus' brat in his place at the same time," he said, making Zar look up in surprise.

"What," he said incredulously.

"We are proud of you for standing up for a friend and showing another what their arrogance will reward them with," Mela'ra explained, "You have represented our clan well, my son."

"Sometimes we can't help but get angry," Skyclaw said, a full smile on his face, "And dragons know this more than most, we unleash our greatest power when angry, remember?"

Storm saw a look of comprehension cross Zar's face, and her heart soared, he wasn't in trouble with his parents after all. She also couldn't help a grin forming on her face at the look of happiness that followed on the hybrid's muzzle, that he had made his parents so proud.

She then heard her father clear his throat, "Ahem, so, you still haven't told us what living in space with the Yautja is like."

Skyclaw chuckled a little and turned back around, he and his mate standing beside their son, "It is nothing like our life here, their technology is decades, or centuries ahead of ours," he began, but didn't get to far before his mate gave him a warning glance, "And life in the clan is always a contest to prove your honor or worth to the clan."

"Interesting," Cyril commented, "And how do you do this?"

"Hunting," was the trio's answer, in near perfect sync.

It was then that a dragon sentry burst into the doors, all eyes turning to him as he panted, "Guardians, the, the walls."

"Calm yourself dragon, what is the matter," Terrador said to the sentry, the dragon gaining his breath before continuing.

"Apes, there's an army of apes at the walls," he said.

A/N: Oh boy, what's going on, at least Zar isn't in trouble with his parents or the Guardians right? See you all next time!
