Hi guys sorry this took so long, please don't hate me school's been tough, I've been really stressed and tired lately and I know that's a terrible excuse but that's all I've got.
That said, I am very sorry to say that this is just a fill-in chapter it would have been longer but I've developed an extreme case of writers block with this chapter so it's well under my average, so sorry but with this out of the way I'll be able to get on with the story so Yeah
Jace's POV
"Digitalis came into use in treating cardiac disease in late 18th century England in spite of its high toxicity . . .,"Hodge drivelled on obliviously, failing to notice Alec drooling all over his desk or Izzy who was half way there. Not that Jace was any exception, who cared if, its use had been almost entirely replaced by the pharmaceutical derivative Digoxin ; Botany class was such a bore. He'd much prefer it if Hodge had thought Demon classification today, now that was something he could sink his teeth into, but he doubted even that could captured his attention at that moment.
All he could think about was last night, "I know where Valentine is, I could give you information." The memory of the demons voice echoed in his head. His heart clenched, he was struggling to breath, was he having a minor panic attack.
Stop it; Valentine's dead now forget about it, he scolded himself turning his mind instead to the girl. He started to calm down gradually. "No one you would know." Her voice echoed. Much better, he thought.
"Jace?" Alec asked looking bedraggled, as he should. It seemed that Hodge had finished while Jace had been lost in his thoughts. "Are you coming?"
Jace gave him a blank stare. "To Taki's you know for breakfast." Alec said impatiently glancing at his watch.
"Well of course, why are you just standing around, Izzy probably already left, let's get going," Jace said getting up from his desk and turning to leave.
"So what's on the menu?" Jace asked as he and Alec took a seat opposite Isabelle.
"The usual," she asked studying the menu intently.
"Are you guys ready to order?" Kali, their usual waitress, asked.
"We'll have our usual thanks," Jace said giving her a charming smile. "So did one of you get what Hodge said at all about the Digitalis lanata?" He asked with a sarcastic smile.
"Like you did?" Isabelle asked nonchalantly.
"No not really, but I asked you first and I wasn't sleeping," Jace said studying his perfect nails.
Kali showed up with three plates of french-fries then ran off to help another customer.
"You might as well have been," Alec said drizzling his french-fries with ketchup. "What's on your mind, it seems to be bothering you today."
"Isn't it obvious?" Izzy asked taking a sip from her smoothie while looking at Jace intently.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Jace said with a dismissive wave of his hand before digging into his fries.
"Of course you don't, in anyway while we're on the subject, we still don't know why that Eidolon demon was here in the first place, but I'm guessing our best bet is to find that girl," Izzy said all business.
"I don't think so Isabelle, I doubt any of us want to go out looking for some random Mundie girl, in the vast city that is, New York we don't even know where to begin . . ."
"I'll do it," Jace said cutting Alec off mid-rant. "How hard can it possibly be?"
Not my best and I know it's very short but I promise the next one will be longer and hopefully better. I'm sorry I'm dragging this out so much but sometimes the story just has a mind of its own. But trust me the good stuff is still coming.
I also have some bad news I won't be updating from the 2-27 June that's when I have exams and I really have to study but I will update every Sunday until then.
I hope you enjoyed this little fill in, please R&R and tell me what you think.
Love Light
