Kid Flash POV
It seems like forever, every moment, of every minute, of every hour, of every day, feels like an eternity. It has almost been a year now since Robin feel into his coma, I like to think that he just want to hide from his fears.
The team was never the same, with the comeback of Robin then the sudden wake up call, knowing that Robin might not ever wake up. The Teen Titans and Young Justice are often together now, bonding over Robin.
If he was awake I would tease him, because, by some kind of best friend radar, I can tell he 'likes' Star Fire.
Robin is mostly physically healed now, doctor after doctor keep saying that he should be awake all ready, but he isn't.
Months turned into years, 2 years Robin was comatose, I wanted to run, run as fast as I could, run away from all of this. Run away from the guilt I felt, but I hide it, hide it behind the fake smiles, the fake laughter, I fake my happiness.
It was a normal day at mount justice; the Teen Titans had to return to Jump City, Superboy, M'gann, Artemis, and Aqualad were on a covert mission. I stayed with Robin, everything was quiet, from deep inside my memories I could heard Robin's signature laugh.
I crashing sound pulled me out of the sweet bliss of my memories. Something told me that Robin was in danger; I got to him in a matter of seconds. But when I got there it wasn't the scene I expected, in fact it was the opposite.
Robin was awake, and on the floor, weakly throwing anything he could at the 5 men dressed in black. I was almost brought to tears with joy for a split second where I realized that the men were trying to get Robin.
I trying to fight them off but they were stronger than I thought they were, they managed to deal me some damage, if I was playing Mario, or something I would have 1 out of 3 lives left. Those odds scared me, what if I couldn't protect the now asleep Robin?
Batman POV
I was enjoying a nice cup of coffee in the Batcave going through files searching for the people that hurt my son. But something was wrong I could feel it, something was going horribly wrong.
That was why I wasn't surprised I got a call from Kid Flash.
"Help! ... Robin… awake… bomb… no time… no way out… help… can't… long… please… come…"
That was all I was able to make out of his panicked tone, he was serious. That didn't happen, even when his life was at stake, he was cracking jokes.
I call the Justice League, the best description of their reaction was shocked, but they could feel the urgency of the matter. I couldn't wait for them though; I was already on my way there.
When I arrived I was immediately engulfed in the flames, I quickly start my search for Kid Flash and Robin. The ground shook roughly, I knew that another bomb went off, I sped up my search.
I finally found them in a corner looking impossibly small, I knew instantly both were unconscious. He was checking them over to make sure that they didn't have any fatal wounds.
"BATMAN!" I hear Clark yell, "WHERE ARE YOU?! BATMAN! BATMAN!"
It started to get annoying; I call out to him, knowing that no matter how quiet I say it his super hearing will pick it up. Moments later he came into my sight, ready to face an enemy that wasn't there. His eyes immediately fell to me and the boys; he knew that he had to get them out of here, and fast.
Before Superman could even blink another explosive went off, the cave was coming down on us. I cover Kid Flash and Robin hoping to protect them the best I could. I might not enjoy Kid Flash's… uuummm… actions… but the kid had a heart. And Flash might be after my blood if he found out I left his nephew die.
Superman managed to hold up one of the support beams from crashing down on us. He looked to me, "Batman, you need to get the kids out, they won't last much longer with the fire. Flash will be here…"
"Now." Flash interrupted, suddenly being somewhere no person was before
Then with grace that I didn't know Flash had he scooped but his nephew. The kid's eyes opened, and so did a fit of coughing.
"…B…" he tried to speak
"Quiet kid, we're getting you out of here and fixed up." Flash looked over Wally. "Iris is going to kill me."
That got a chuckle out of Wally but even more coughs, Flash looks at me worriedly as Wally passed out again. I nod at him telling him to get out of here.
"Batman get Robin out now! This place isn't going to hold much longer!"
I moved Robin into a position in my hands so that I could still use one as I held onto him. I knew that there was very few ways to get out of here at this moment, and then the idea struck me.
"Blast a hole into the ceiling!" I yelled to Superman
He looked at me like I was crazy, but he trusted me. He fired and created a small hole that was about 3 feet in diameter. Enough room for both me and robin to fit at the same time plus some.
I shot the batclaw (1) throw the whole the tugged at it to make sure it was secure. Then I made it pull both me and Robin up.
I managed to get Both Robin and I out, but Super came flying roughly grabbing my arm and flying at full speed away from the mountain, I had no I idea why he was doing so but when my head turned back I saw why.
The mountain was no longer a mountain, but a valley of flames.
