I don't think this story is going to be as long as I planned, but I do have an idea of one where Pitch comes back. I'll let you guys decided whether I should write it or not. C: But thank you for all the love 3 And in the next chapter shit is going to hit the fan. Also, I have no clue as to what Jack's sister name is. So, hopefully I'll figure it out. I apologize if this chapters a bit short as well.
The guardians, along with most of team RWBY, flowed through the large place where the time witch supposedly resided.
It was stranger on the inside, and somehow had a cozy warm feeling like a cottage, while still appearing to be updated in the ways of the human world. A fireplace here, a couch there, and single hourglass hanging on the wall.
Soon enough they found themselves up a pair of stairs. If not for the situation the place would have been cozy. Like a cottage in the middle of winter. But one of their friends was in trouble and they were eager to find out why.
They came to a large door. It stood, tall and looming before them, and Blake hesitated before it. Her bow twitched slightly ad her golden eyes narrowed at the door, instantly alert. "There's something strong behind here," She reached a hand forward and touched it gently. The door in response sparkled, a strange blue green aura forming around it.
"I can sense it too, actually." Yang mused. "Though…barely."
Aster huffed, crossing his arms. "So, are we jus' gonna' stand out ere' all day or go in?" He muttered. "Frankly I ain't in the mood fer any games."
"Really guys." Weiss strode forward, and before a certain tooth fairy could stop her went to throw aside the door. Or, she at least tried. Bunny appeared amused, watching the poor girl trying in vain to push open the large door, and finally showed some mercy and went over to help.
Everyone else followed, though Tooth was a bit hesitant at first. "Really, maybe you could try knocking instead of breaking and entering first?" She scolded lightly.
Bunny snorted. "Says the fairy that breaks into homes to steal teeth from children."
"I do not steal them! I trade them a quarter for a tooth. And besides! I do it to protect their memories!" She stated proudly, sending the large rabbit a playful smile.
North bellowed a laugh and assisted in pushing the large structure. They were surprised to find it open and not locked by any magic means. Inside they found various things similar to that of North's Globe room. A giant globed filled with lights of children who believed. A large screen opened up top to reveal the sky, only, it was empty. Manny was nowhere in sight, which was an odd thing even for those who were not dubbed official guardians.
Weiss took in the area as did the rest of them.
Yang looked around. "It looks…"
"…normal," Blake finished.
"Vell vhat did you expect?" North chimed in.
"Something a bit more extravagant," Weiss spoke up. She strolled to the middle of the room, eying the lights. "So, what is all of this?"
Sandy took that moment to symbol some things.
"He says it's…those who believe." Blake murmured, though her voice asked if she had guessed correctly. Sandy nodded, the sound of musical bells following the movement.
"Ve may be important Guardians of precious things, but, vhen chosen, they are often invented into designs that we prefer. Fer example, I myself, prefers a cozy and colorful place where everyone feels welcome, da?" North explained.
"While I," Aster spoke, "Prefer a more natural and less technology developed area. Where plants' an' the like can thrive and hope can bloom." Aster stated.
"So where is this time witch?" Weiss spoke once more. "No offense but I'd like to find out what it is this 'spirit' intends to do. The sooner we found out the sooner we can go home and less worried Ruby will be."
"Aw, look who's caring!" Yang beamed, skipping over to the girl and pulling her into a hug. "You act all mean and rude but inside you really care for others!"
"I do not! I'm just tired of seeing her so distracted! Imagine if we get into an actual fight and she's like this! We can't afford to be protecting ourselves as well as her." Weiss shook the blonde off, going over to a strange staff lying across a table. It was golden, and held an hourglass shaped item swirling with colors.
The item itself appeared extravagant and had an unearthly power about it. "What is this?" Weiss questioned. In tune to her voice the colors inside swirled a light blue.
"What was that?" Yang questioned. The colors inside then swirled a light purple and mixed with the blue. She raised a brow, looking to the guardians for an answer.
"It's something that helps her control her powers." Tooth fluttered over, hovering above the staff. "Strange…"
"What's strange?" Yang asked.
Tooth's hand hovered gently over the staff, to which the colors swirled once more, but a more darker purple. "It's not like her to leave her staff lying around like this. But, this is her area, so I assume it's safe here."
"But considern' how she has this place sealed up tight, I assume no one really comes to visit, unless it's North or Sandy," Aster responded.
"That is true…but still, after the incident with Pitch…"
"Pitch?" Blake mused.
"Tis a long story. But for now we worry about problem at hand, da?" Santa mused.
Curious, Weiss looked at the staff again, leaning closer to get a better look at it. The closer she drew the brighter the blue inside became and before she knew it, a new voice rang through the air.
"Don't touch that!"
A sound of clicks was heard; the sound of heels on hard ground came and a hooded figure pushed them aside, though gently, and gathered the staff in her arms.
The colors swirled a light green and she breathed in relief, hugging the item to her chest. "Please don't touch this, it's very dangerous."
From what the guardians could see she was a female, but even so, they couldn't tell anything beyond that.
"I knew you were coming but I thought you would be a bit longer. I apologize for not being here to welcome you. North, Sandy. It's nice to see you again." The voice sounded nervous and Weiss drew closer.
"Yes, I'm just going to get straight to the point here. We're here because-"
"-Because of Jack Frost." The cloaked figure interjected quickly. "Yes. I know why it is you are here."
"Good. Now that we're on the same page ya' can tell us why it is Jack is suddenly becomin' invisible again and why, when we were lookin' fer answers, you appeared before North and Sandy. Well? Get ta talkin' Sheila." Aster quickly crossed the room and stood before the figure. If she was intimidated she didn't show it and raised her hood to face him, though nothing of her face could be seen.
"I've done nothing. I've been here the whole time, watching the time stream, when you came in here." Her voice gave no room for argument and neither did it sound insulting.
Of course, Aster being Aster, wasn't easily duped, nor was he one for backing down easily.
"Yer lyin,' I can tell ya' that much." He huffed.
Sandy signed a few things in Bunny's directions, a worried expression crossing his face.
Tooth flew forward, trying to ease the one's mood down.
Yang stepped forward, oddly siding with Bunny, and tried to peer at the girl's face. She shriveled back, pulling her dark green hood down further over her face and scowling from beneath it. "I don't appreciate all these accusations," She quickly said.
"We don't mean to accuse you," Yang began. "But it was a little…strange. That you are the first one shown who possibly has something to do with this."
"Not to mention, probably the only one who has close enough power to do such a thing." Blake added in. "And that his age is reversing so to speak. You are the controller of time here, so, who else could it be?"
North remained quiet to see where this was going, but the girl clad in the hood had enough. She stomped her foot, clutching her staff tighter to her chest, and glared at them each in turn. "Listen, if I'm doing anything it isn't any of your business. I didn't ask for this and neither did he!"
A picture of Jack appeared then and she pointed at it to emphasize her point. "Last time I checked none of us get to choose what it is we do. It's unfair, and I'm only bringing the fairness back. If anything you should be thanking me. I don't believe in any of Manny's decisions, and no matter how it makes me look, you can't change my mind!"
The guardians looked insulted by the way she said their creator's name. Aster glared further, and Sandy offered a soft look to the girl.
She raised the staff, intent on teleporting to a place they couldn't find her, but Aster was quick to grab her.
"Bunny, don't-!" He heard Tooth shout.
Sandy's bells chimed loudly and he reached to grab onto the Easter spirit, as did Yang and Weiss.
Suddenly the few grabbing onto each other had vanished into thin air, leaving a confused Blake, a worried Tooth and a grumbling Santa behind.
Blake blinked, looking left and right. "Where…"
"She teleported them. Hopefully, to an area that has…well, air." Tooth murmured. "North, do you have any idea of where they could have gone?!" She flew until she was face to face with him, worried eyes burning into his eyes of wonder.
North raised a brow, rubbing his beard in thought. "If my theory is correct, I may know."
Tooth perked up, grinning brightly. "Really?! Where?"
"They probably are somevhere near the North Pole."
"The…North Pole?" Blake asked. "Why there though?"
"All of this is surrounding Jack Frost, da? Naturally, I assume she'd not vant to be far from him for whatever reason. She seems rather angry, fer reasons we do not know yet."
"I'd think it was obvious. She's angry that she's…a guardian, I assume. And she intends to rewind until she is not one any longer. And for whatever reason she wants Jack as well." Blake responded.
North nodded, a serious look crossing his face. "If that is so…ve need to head to the pole. And quickly."
Tooth fluttered uneasily, and then nodded. "I guess it's better than waiting here. North, do you have enough magic to get us back?"
North bellowed out another laugh, and instead of answering, pulled out a snow globe, whispered to it, and then threw it at the wall. He proceeded to push the two girls' through despite protests, and Blake's mutter of 'Not again', while Tooth merely shrugged it off. They were sent flying and spinning once more, back to Santa's workshop.
"So Jack," Ruby asked calmly. "Feeling any better?"
Jack, having moped for the past half an hour or so, was finally getting on a certain red-hooded girl's nerves.
"Come on Jack. I know it sucks. But you have friends helping you figure it out. It could be so much worse." Ruby skipped over to him and shoved him playfully.
At this he grinned just a little, before wiping it off his face.
"I saw that smile!" Ruby chimed happily.
A small jingling came from nearby and she paused to see an elf bringing in a plate of…something, followed by a yeti carrying soup and cookies. He made a gruff noise and pointed at Jack, who was standing and pacing, then pointing to the bed.
The winter sprite made a face. "Aw, come on Phil! I'm fine!"
Phil grunted this time, eyebrows scrunching together and pointing at the bed once more.
Jack rolled his eyes but complied. He knew enough that the yeti had a fatherly streak about him and could be very insisting and demanding when it came to someone's well-being. He flew to the bed and crossed his arms and legs, floating a mere few inches above the bed. Phil grunted again and pointed once more at the bed. Jack groaned and sat completely on the bed. Air flowed through his snowy locks in comfort, the wind threatening to take him to the skies.
A bright flash distracted the two of them, a swirl of colors coming from the wall.
Phil groaned when his platter of cookies he made were knocked over, and let out an unintelligible mumble. Blake was the first to fly through the wall, nearly crashing into an unsuspecting Ruby.
Tooth came soon after as Did North. Jack looked at the two curiously, mainly the jolly red man, who was oddly serious. The fairy flew to his bedside quickly, checking his face, arms, and most importantly, teeth for any signs of damage. Her eyes widened when they rested on his hair though. She gently tugged on the lock to get a closer look, worry filling her bright eyes.
"Tooth? Tooth, what is it?" Jack spoke, trying to get the large fairy's attention. Baby Tooth fluttered over as well, having flown off to collect some teeth and having just returned, before squeaking loudly. "Jack, your hair…"
"My hair?" Jack voiced.
"It's…turning brown." She finally whispered.
Ruby's eyes scrunched in worry and her eyes fell on North.
Tooth flew over to the large Russian man, hands wrung together. "North, this is progressing faster than we thought! We need to find Sandy! Perhaps he will know what to do!"
"Ve will. They should be nearby and ve can track them on the globe." He nodded as he thought, going over to the winter sprite and smacking him in the back. "Do not worry!" He laughed. "Ve will take care of this!"
Tooth seemed at ease and her tension lessened, as did Baby Tooth's, and fluttered over to Jack. He seemed pacified at the positivity. "He's right Jack. We will fix this. We found the Time Witch and she will fix it. We'll make sure she does. Sandy will know what to do."
Jack merely blinked, his eyes glazing over and bringing worry back to both Tooth and Ruby.
"Jack? Jack, what's wrong?" The fairy gripped his arms when he slumped forward slightly. Ruby rushed over as well while Blake stood in the middle of the room, her focus on something else entirely.
"I…" He mumbled beneath his breath. North came over as well, a hand on the boy's back in assurance. They assumed the witch was using her power again, and Tooth inwardly swore at the girl, something she rarely did, if at all.
"I…who's…who is…Sandy?" Jack finally breathed. "And…who…who are you?!" He shouted.
Tooth looked like she had been struck and pulled her arm away.
Ruby wasn't quite sure what to do, and North looked…angry. Something that, for some reason, surprised the white haired spirit. He couldn't find it in him to recognize any of the figures before them, but knew that they were friends, and he reached for the fairy one. "I…didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I just…suddenly..." He grabbed his head in frustration. "I can't remember anything! What's happening!?"
Blake stood nearby, her bow twitching slightly. Her head snapped towards the window, her golden eyes narrowed and finally resting on something the others couldn't quite sense. "They're coming."
Before they had time to react one of the windows shattered sending a gust of cold air into the room. A few figures came tumbling in, and Ruby recognized one as Yang, who had her cannons out and aimed towards another. The wind temporarily blinded them and she heard someone scream suddenly. Too late, she realized, that it was Jack's voice.
And too late they all realized that he was suddenly not in the infirmary bed anymore, but somewhere else entirely, and they heard Bunny swear from somewhere nearby. Before any of them could make a move the snow suddenly stooped and the window was fixed. The same hooded figure from earlier stood standing before it, her hands glowing a gentle green, and a passed out Jack Frost behind her, leaning against the wall.
The figure pulled her hood away, revealing brown silk hair and glazed over white eyes. Her staff churned random colors and swirled around her.
Nobody, expect for Tooth, gawked at the girl suddenly as everything suddenly made sense. "You're..."
"...Jack's sister." She finished, her lips tugged down in a frown. "And I'm going to fix everything that has happened to us."
