Tales Of The Impossible Girl
Vampires Of Venice
The Doctor didn't know what was going on. He didn't like not knowing and that was why he was trying to creep unnoticed through the Calvierri school in the dead of night. The Doctor was so far succeeding in not being noticed until he turned the corner and walked right into a girl with shoulder length brown hair, who was also quietly creeping through the school. "Who are you?"
"I'm the Doctor. And you are?"
"Clara. And you are obviously not one of the vampires."
"Correct but how did you know?"
"The chin."
"Oi what's wrong with my chin! Anyway you're obviously not one of the Vampires as you're too short and you were too surprised to see me."
"Correct. So do you want to run?"
"Run. Why?"
"I kind of upset some of the Vampires and they're now after me and given that we've just been stood around chatting they've probably worked out where I am."
Before the Doctor had chance to say anything else Clara had already grabbed his hand and was pulling him away. Just as Clara had said they would the Vampires appeared round the corner and gave chase. The only light sources were the light from Sonic Screwdriver and the occasional moon beam tumbling down, the Doctor found himself becoming disoriented as Clara pulled him through the ornate labyrinth of Venetian corridors. Clara was leading herself and the Doctor into a room where they should be safe. The Doctor turned his back to Clara and got to work using the Sonic Screwdriver to seal the door shut against attacking Vampires.
"So how do you know they're called Vampires. That word isn't due to appear until 1734, and last time I checked it was currently 1580."
"Long story. You'll find out one day..."
The Doctor turned around to face Clara but she had already disappeared leaving no trace. Perhaps she'd never even been there...
