Flashback part is bold.

Now time for a serious talk. So I am witnessing a gradual overall decrease in response for my stories. I tried everything that I was capable of so that my readership increase but to no avail. So I am thinking it got to do something the updates itself. So I earnestly request that do point out what might be the reason for the fall of readership so that I can abide by it. Its a sincere plea to all.

"So did you really propose me? Like going on one knee… and pulling out a ring…"

Kria asked for the millionth time as Rey fed her soup. She found it hard to believe that Rey would pull out something like that. She never imagined Rey to be a proposing by going on one knee kind of guy. Also the fact that last memory she had of them being a couple was post break up made it even harder for her to digest the fact.

"Yes…. Kria…. I. Proposed. You."

Rey literally spelled out the words as he continued feeding her. They were on the recliner in the baby's room as Kria sat holding the album. She was ecstatic on knowing a piece of her past and she couldn't wait to know more. But her enthusiasm was cut low when Rey demanded to have dinner first. She tried all sorts of antics – pouting, anger, sweetness but Rey didn't budge. In the end it was settled with Rey feeding her.

"Its just hard to believe. I mean back then I never thought you were that kind of guy. You were more of a brat – not caring about others and everything. So it came out as a shocker you know."

Kria shrugged nonchalantly not noticing what effect it had over Rey. He sat still for a moment taking in what she pointed out so easily. He felt a tug in his heart as the memories of that dreaded night gushed over his mind. The same words were exchanged that night and he knew he had come a long way from there.

But she didn't know.

Sighing he composed himself not letting his emotions come into play and fed her the last bite. Seeing the bowl empty Kria chirped like a kid and spoke.

"Now lets open the book."

He shook his head over his enthusiastic wife and wiping his hands he came back to be with her. Sitting beside her Rey took the album and opened it as Kria saw it with the eyes of 5 year old opening his Christmas gift.

As Rey opened the book Kria didn't know what to feel in the moment.

Should she be happy or sad? – She just couldn't decide.

Those were her memories. Memories of which she had been a part of but she couldn't remember. The clicks, the photos and everything – all seemed so alien to her. She felt a rush of emotions as the realization yet again hit her that a part of her life was missing. No matter how much she tried to fight the fact or try denying it; it would always come out on its own and rub on her face. A lone tear escaped her eyes as she became overwhelmed with the sudden realization.

Rey broke his eyes away from the album as he felt her stiffen. Seeing her pale face, he tensed up, thinking that something must have crossed the line. He spoke out softly.

"Are you okay?"

"Ye..yeah.. Its just that I realized that there is a chunk of my life that am missing… that there is a possibility that I may not remember anything… that my future would be based on unknown… that…"

"Shhh…"

Rey shushed her keeping a finger on her lips. He realized what she thought, as he had undergone a similar phase sometime back. The fear of never knowing had engulfed him quite many times.

"So what if you don't remember how we fell in love again? Or how we got married? It doesn't change the fact that we are here in our child's room waiting for his or her arrival. Neither will it change the fact that with time we would overcome all the hurdles. Take this as a lesson missing in your life and you are learning it again."

Rey spoke endearingly gazing into her eyes as he held her face. He wiped the tear that had escapes her eyes. Kria snuggled more into the warmth of his hand feeling the reality of the situation. He was right. It didn't change the fact that they were together and they would remain forever.

Determined she turned her attention to the page which Rey had opened. Over the page in italicized form the word proposal was engraved and there were series of their photographs. Kria stared onto them amused as to how many times he actually proposed. They were on the beach, in a restaurant, in amusement park, in their college and some more places. She was confused and turned towards Rey who sat there with a sheepish grin covering his face.

"Reyansh… Did you really propose me these many times?"

Kria looked at him oddly as the pictures made no sense to her. She didn't remember the exact circumstances but she could at least vouch for herself that she would have accepted the proposal in a split second if her feelings were true like those times. Seeing so many stances of Rey left her perplexed.

"Yes… and no…"

He spoke out softly.

Was he embarrassed? – Was the only thought in her mind.

"Elaborate."

"Umm… actually these are the pictures of the way I had planned on proposing you but failed terribly. You had me propose these ways after you accepted my original proposal. I had planned a romantic getaway on beach but a high tide warning was issued and all the arrangements were sabotaged. Then I thought of classic putting the ring in the champagne glass trick but that day you had to go due to some family emergency. I had planned an entire scene in amusement park but you called in sick that day. I planned on proposing you…."

And Rey then went on all about his failed attempts of proposing her describing on how each of his attempts was sabotaged. When he was finished, he looked towards Kria who sat there staring at him but soon burst out laughing.

"It's not funny Kria."

Rey spoke making a face making her laugh more.

"I know… its hysterical. You know what… you should write a book - 'How to not propose a girl'. I am guaranteeing you it would become an instant hit."

She spoke between peals of laughter leaving Rey sulking. After controlling her laughter, she spoke.

"So… how did you finally propose me?"

"No… no… laugh all you want… Is something left? Take it all out."

Rey spoke irate over the fact that she was laughing over his attempts. He turned his face away in anger making her giggle more.

"You are such a girl… Now stop the fake pouting and tell me the story."

Kria deadpanned urging him to speak up. Sighing he recalled how he had proposed.

He had called her home, after he had dropped the idea of proposing her. It was some sort of Universal force acting that was preventing him for proposing – it was his firm belief. The ring rested in his back pocket as he paced to and fro thinking where he would take her so that he could just propose her.

The bell rang breaking his contemplation. He opened the door only to witness half wet Kria shivering in the cold.

"What happened?"

Rey asked seeing her in that state.

"Will you let me in first? Its freezing out there."

"Ohh.. yeah sure… come on in."

Making way for her to get in, he got a towel for her so that she could dry herself off. Giving her spare clothes he allowed her to change.

"What happened?"

He asked as she came to sit beside him. Lounging on the couch she spoke.

"Its pouring cats and dogs outside Rey… Can't you see or hear?"

And it was then when she pointed out that he realized that the city was experiencing the early Monsoon showers. He cursed his fate. Another attempt of proposal was sabotaged by Mother Nature.

"God… just kill me…"

He cursed out loud earning an odd look from his companion.

"Reyansh… are you okay? You have been on edge for quite a few days. Is everything all right sweetie?"

Kria asked concerned over Rey's state. She couldn't fathom any reason for him to be so frustrated all the time.

"No… it's not… I swear… everybody is against me… Whenever I plan anything… it is destined to get sabotaged. Why do I even try?"

He hid his face in his palms annoyed and frustrated with nature's play.

"Sweetheart, why are you getting so frustrated? Just let go… don't plan… just let it go."

Kria spoke out affectionately, holding his shoulder assuring him. Rey looked into her eyes to find out immense love for him.

She was right.

He didn't plan falling in love. So why should he plan this?

Placing a chaste kiss over her lips, he got down the couch and kneeling on his one knee, he took out the ring and spoke. Kria gasped as realization dawned upon her of the impending.

"You are right… absolutely right. I should just let it go. I didn't plan falling in love with you, but I fell and it was the most beautiful moment of my life. And as I want to create another moment, I shouldn't plan. Kria Ghai… I love you with all my heart… although there are some moments that I hate too… but that makes it all the more special…"

Taking a deep breath he spoke.

"I hate it when you cry… but I love it when you come into my arms to ease off your pain. I hate it when people stare at you… but I love it when you openly lay out your claim over me. I love it when you go green over the female attention I get… but I hate it when a drop of pearl falls off your eyes due to it. I hate the fact that you know me so well… but I love the fact that you are the only one who understands me so well. I try to become a perfect boyfriend and I fail terribly and I hate it… but I love it when you do something to bring a smile on my face. I don't need a special place or special time to propose you because you are so special that you make every moment special. So here I am on my knees with a ring asking you the biggest question of our lives. Will you marry me?"

He stared intently in her eyes as he recited what he had spoken to her that day. It was the most beautiful moment of his life and reliving it with her was another one of those moments that he wanted to cherish forever.

She could feel herself tearing up as Rey spoke those words out. It was so overwhelming. She snuggled into him as she bathed in the feeling of the words he just voiced. It was so blissful and serene. It just felt perfect. She sighed in contentment. Few moments later detaching her from him she asked.

"What did I answer?"

Rey looked at her oddly.

"You said no… and then you ran away… and then I married your twin sister… and then we lived happily ever after."

Rey mocked over the stupid question she asked only to earn a smack over his shoulder.

"No… seriously Reyansh…"

"Obviously yes Kria… Is that even a question to ask?"

Rey rolled his eyes over the idiocy of her question. She smiled and looked over the picture which they had clicked after he had proposed and the words written by the picture. She stared at it for an eternity absorbing the feel and letting it sink in. She could feel his presence behind her and it didn't even take her a split second to know that he was remembering that moment.

She didn't know what got into her, but she felt it the right thing to do. She turned around and pecked his lips taking him by surprise. He was blown away by a sudden gesture. It was just a small kiss… nothing big… but it meant the world to him in the moment. She shied away not able to meet his shocked eyes and smiled over her own crazy antic.

The moment was put to a halt as she felt a fluttery sensation in her stomach. Her hands automatically reached over her belly. Meanwhile Rey got alerted and asked hurriedly.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt… do you want to call a doctor?"

He almost got up to get his cell, only to be stopped by her.

"Everything is just fine… The baby kicked."

She spoke smiling and relief flashed through his entire body. Exhaling audibly he let the new information sink in.

The baby kicked.

Not caring about anything else he crashed his lips upon her taking her in a deep kiss to convey his happiness which she returned graciously as their hands laid intertwined over her belly.
