~Alrighty my lovely people I have managed to find a way to be online and so I can update again! So sorry for the colossal cliffhanger but I can only get so much done with the end of school rush. Happy reading!~
Once the two reached the hospital the great feeling of their renewed friendship faded in to oblivion as they made their way to Olaf's room and the nurses seemed to become more frantic. "What the hell is happening here?"
"It's Olaf. I stayed up with him all night and I guess I fell asleep..." Kristoff put his fist against the wall and looked in to see a swarm of nurses trying to move Olaf. "I fall asleep for a few hours only to wake up to him choking."
"Wait he's not dead is he?" Elsa began to tear up. "How'd he choke?"
"He apparently was sleeping after eating his lunch and then he began to feel sick, although he insisted I get rest and that it was nothing, next thing I knew he was asleep, then I got off guard and fell asleep and this is the result."
"This just now happened?" Anna looked more worried than anything but Elsa could detect some anger in her voice.
"Well about five minutes ago." Just then a nurse had walked out of the room shuffling her feet around. "Well? How's he doing? Will he be okay?"
The nurse went to speak then looked at Kristoff concealing her emotions quite expertly. "He should be feeling much better now." Kristoff looked hopeful then realized the nurse wasn't smiling when she said that.
"Wait what do you mean by that?" Kristoff took hold of the nurses shoulders trying to keep from shaking her. "What the hell happened to him?"
"We did everything we could sir."
"You mean to tell me that all this time you guys are so sure that my little brother is going to die from a god damned concussion and he ends up choking and you come to tell me you did everything you can?!"
"Sir I'm really sorry for you but we did try to save him but he refused to cooperate with us."
"To hell with cooperation! I want to know how the hell this place qualifies as a hospital! You can perform surgeries and cure all kinds of sickness but you can't keep a boy from choking?" The nurse had backed herself in to the wall beside Olaf's door.
"Sir, when you called he was already halfway gone, there wasn't much we could do even if he would have cooperated." Kristoff looked in to her eyes with a look of disappointment.
"Damn you. Let me see him one last time." The nurse opened her mouth to speak then Kristoff cut her off. "I don't care about the smell that's my little brother and I will say goodbye to him properly whether he's still alive or not!" The nurse simply nodded and told the other nurses of Kristoff's request.
Elsa and Anna followed behind Kristoff and watched as he bent down over the lifeless body. "I'm so sorry Olaf. I'm going to miss you like crazy, the way you use to run up to me on the last day of school screaming about summer, the way you begged me to let you ride Sven, and even your annoying habit of keeping me away from homework." Kristoff chuckled at these memories then took Olaf's body in to a tight hug. "One last warm hug to remember me by." Elsa had curled in on herself by this point. Anna looked down to see the blonde sitting on the floor and hugged her.
"It'll be okay Elsa." The blonde looked up at Anna and practically threw herself in Anna's arms and Kristoff turned to see the effect a moment after.
"Oh come on you two." He half smiled as the remaining tears rolled off his face and he attempted to joke like he usually did. "Have a little respect, I know you like each other and all but damn."
"Kristoff, this isn't because of that. She's really upset."
"Makes sense she never really got to meet him." He looked back then took in a deep breath before speaking again. "So feisty pants, you're not going to be allowed to be alone tonight so you are coming with me."
"No way! I know you probably want company too but I have catching up to do."
"I just lost my brother Elsa; be sympathetic." She could tell he obviously didn't mean to be rude with his words and that he was only upset.
"How about this... I go with Elsa today then I can spend all of tomorrow with Kristoff." Anna smiled as the two shrugged in agreement.
"Only if you get to stay with me over spring break though because I had something planned for tomorrow that obviously isn't happening now."
"What?! Okay that's too much risk." Kristoff's voice rang clear from where he stood.
"No it's not!" Kristoff sent a knowing glance Elsa's way. "Just because there's a possibility I might like her doesn't mean I'd try to do anything to her. God!"
"I still don't think it's a good idea." Kristoff crossed his arms and smiled at Anna's clueless expression. Anna got up and offered a hand to Elsa who held her gaze on Kristoff.
"Well it's happening so deal with it." Elsa took Anna's hand and got up as the nurse walked back in.
"Um... we need to take his body now so we can get the room ready for any other patients that may need it." Kristoff huffed and walked past her.
"We were just on our way out." The nurse looked back at him as he walked off then back at the two girls.
"Sorry about him." Anna looked apologetically. "He always was rather sensitive." With that said the nurse smiled at the two as they left.
They got back to Elsa's car and drove to Anna's house so she could get ready to go over to Elsa's, then seeing as the time was four thirty Anna suggested they order pizza while they finish homework. Time passed by and when homework was finished and the pizza had vanished they decided it couldn't hurt to hang out there until a little later.
Anna had done it, finally she had mended her friendship with Elsa. Said blonde was currently laughing up a storm as Anna couldn't seem to keep herself from failing miserably at the song she was currently playing on guitar hero. "You know I originally brought this game out to impress you." Elsa fell over laughing and continued trying to catch her breath.
"I'm sorry it's just you're so bad!" Anna paused the game and looked at Elsa with a scowl.
"At least I'm trying! It's not all to easy to focus with you laughing like that."
"Sorry." Elsa managed to calm down and then she looked over Anna. So amazing and genuine. So perfect.
"Well it's about six forty five." Anna walked over to turn off her wii. "Any other idea's on what we can do to waste some time?"
Oh I've got a few... Elsa shook the thought loose as soon as it popped in her head. "We could go ahead and head to my place."
"I don't want to go just yet though. I mean no offense but the fact that your mom is my english teacher is still a little to strange."
Elsa giggled and nodded understandingly. "Some of my friends still call her Mrs. Winters when they come over."
Anna chuckled at the thought. "I'd be scared to call her anything besides that; I mean she's nice and all but she can be intimidating."
"I suppose she can be pretty intimidating... if you don't live with her." Anna smiled at the comment faintly looking zoned out. "Anna?"
"Coffee!" Anna's eyes widened as she grabbed Elsa's shoulders.
"Wait what?" Anna nodded her head while Elsa rolled her eyes at the younger girl. "You don't need coffee this late."
"Oh come on." Elsa shook her head. "But there's a Starbucks just down the way that has all kinds of stuff and it's so cool!"
Elsa looked on amused. "Fine but you are not getting anything that will keep you up too late." Anna jumped joyfully and grabbed ten dollars out of her kitchen cabinet.
In the meantime Kristoff didn't know what to make of the situation, he felt his life crumbling in his hands and he could barely even think. He had thought about calling Anna but he knew that this may be her only chance to mend things with Elsa. Thoughts ran through his head of how he could have saved Olaf himself, of the fact he didn't save Olaf. "All you had to do was stop freaking out for one second and just help him! You knew what was wrong so why didn't you fix it?" Kristoff began cursing himself and brought up a fist letting it fly towards the wall, he continued in this fit until he saw blood stains on the wall and looked down to see his knuckles covered with crimson red.
Kristoff didn't know what to think anymore, he only stared at his knuckles thinking up ways he could change what happened. He felt himself beginning to cry and so he curled in on himself. Hours passed until he looked at the time again. "Seven and I still haven't finished the second half of my homework. To hell with it all." He looked at his phone and subconsciously began dialing Anna's number. "Don't do it you idiot she's probably busy with Elsa." He turned his phone off and began to play some music from his mp3 player in hopes it would help him to stay calm.
Once at Starbucks Anna looked to Elsa happily. "You may want to stop waiting around before I change my mind." Anna's eyes grew wide and she quickly opened the door.
"Come on Elsa!" As usual the redhead was already inside before Elsa had even stepped out of her car. By the time Elsa had joined Anna's side again she had already got herself a double chocolate chip frappuccino. "Oh and whatever she wants." Anna stepped aside to let Elsa give her order.
"I guess I'll have the caramel white chocolate iced mocha." Anna gave the cashier the money taking the two dollars and fifty-eight cents extra. Anna let Elsa choose where she wanted to sit and waited excitedly. "Thank you."
"Hm? Oh the coffee? It was nothing really." Anna smiled and moved a stray hair behind her ear. "You know Kristoff worked here for a little bit."
"I didn't mean the coffee I meant... wait Kristoff worked here?" Elsa thought he looked familiar when she met him but she never said anything about it.
"Hold on what were you going to say?" Anna's eyes were wide and her face glowed with curiosity.
"I was going to thank you for trying, for not giving up on me when I gave up on you." Elsa's gaze was downcast and Anna looked at her blankly.
"Oh. Well that's not a big deal. I mean you're really cool and I just didn't want you to be mad at me forever." Elsa opened her mouth to speak as their orders were called and Anna jumped up to go get it. "Hold that thought."
Anna was back before Elsa realized she was gone. The blonde was still remembering all that had happened that day and she figured Kristoff could use a friend. "I'm going to call Kristoff real quick." Anna gave a nod as Elsa looked for Kristoff's name then called his phone, it rung once, twice, then the third time when he didn't pick up Elsa sighed. " He won't pick up his phone. After we get done here we should go visit him."
"Okay." Anna looked slightly worried as she took a sip from her coffee then her eyes grew wide with delight.
Elsa laughed when she saw Anna's face. "Got enough chocolate for you?"
"Nothing can ever have enough chocolate for me." Unlike Anna, Elsa paced herself taking sips here and there still a little worried about Kristoff but happy that Anna and her were talking again.
When the two were finally done they made a beeline to Kristoff's house. Once they got there, Anna knocked on the door which was turned away by an upset groan. "Kristoff, we aren't leaving you in there to rot."
"Go away!" Anna sighed at the response then ran her hand on the top of the door frame to find a key then unlocked the door.
"You're not getting out of this that easily." Anna marched in to find a messy Kristoff lying on the floor. "We're staying until you feel better and we're gonna play games and eat pizza."
