Chapt. 8
Shizuo cursed angrily as he ran through the empty streets in the rain. He was currently in Shinjuku (all his debtees seemed to come from there nowadays; weird) alone, as Tom had some thing or other to attend to, and was stuck in a heavy thunderstorm. It wouldn't have been a problem if he had brought an umbrella, but he hadn't, and he really didn't want to take a train back to Ikebukuro soaking wet. He thought about getting a hotel room for the night but then recalled he didn't bring his wallet.
What shit luck, he grumbled, stumbling under a bus stop shelter to escape from the relentless pelting drops of rain though the damage was already done. Now I know why everyone hates Mondays. Maybe I could call Tom to come pick me up...
The idea struck, but when he dug his hand through his pocket, his phone was soaked and pretty much unusable.
"Fuck! "
The blonde had to control himself from uprooting a nearby vending machine and flinging it somewhere. What was he supposed to do now? He couldn't get back to Ikebukuro unless he waited for the rain to stop first which, at this rate, would probably take another two hours or so, and he didn't know any place he could crash at for free in Shinjuku. Well, he did know someone...
"No," he said out loud. "I will not go to the flea for help. I'll just wait here a while, I'll get an idea eventually."
But the minutes passed and that seemed like the most rational and practical thing he could do; plus he had no doubt Izaya would be more than willing to put up with him for the night, or at least until the rain stopped. Finally making up his mind, he got up from the hard bench and tried to figure out which direction the raven's apartment office was at.
He found it, surprisingly, quite easily as it was fortunately pretty nearby. Shizuo hesitated a little, still unsure about turning to his ex-enemy for help. Anyone would be, after all; but he really didn't have a choice. Taking a deep breath he walked into the building and went up to the right floor, remembering it from when he was there last time.
Izaya opened the door on the first doorbell ring dressed in his usual long sleeved black shirt and a pair of shorts that barely covered a quarter of his thigh, the expression on his face a mixture of confusion and delight. "Shizu-Chan!" He beamed. "What brings you here?"
"Oh, uhm," the blonde scratched the back of his head. "I...got stuck in the rain. Can I stay here...for awhile...?" He mumbled softly, feeling the embarrassment swelling.
Izaya's smile seemed to widen then. "You want to stay here tonight?"
The blonde nodded slightly. "Or until the rain stops, if that's alright with you."
"Of course it is, Shizu-Chan!" He replied quickly, opening his front door wider. "Come on in."
The blonde stepped in before noticing the mess he was making on the informant's floor. "Oh, sorry, your floor's wet..." he mumbled, staring down at the now wet tiles.
"It's fine," the raven replied, still smiling. "You should take a shower or you'll catch a cold like that. I'll let you use my bath. And I think I have some clothes that might fit you..."
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it, Shizu-Chan. Now get in the bath, I'll go get you a towel," Izaya replied excitedly, almost too excitedly, quickly pushing the dripping blonde towards the bath room.
Shizuo entered it without complain, starting up the bath when the raven had left and began stripping down to the nude. He was very grateful for Izaya's generosity, certainly, but he felt somewhat uncomfortable as well. After what happened when Izaya slept in his house on Saturday, should he really be alright with spending another night alone with the informant?
Stop thinking about it! Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he stepped into the tub hurriedly, immersing himself in the lukewarm water. Sighing in content, he closed his eyes for a moment, letting the cold wash off his skin.
But just as he started to relax, all thoughts cleared, the bathroom door swung open all of a sudden to reveal Izaya with a towel and a pair of slacks hanging over his arm.
"I-Izaya!" Shizuo gasped, turning to look at him.
"Hi Shizu-Chan, here's your towel and some pants. I don't think I have any shirts that would fit you..." he replied normally.
"O-oh that's ok, flea. Thanks."
Izaya placed the items on the dressing table but instead of leaving right after he did like Shizuo expected, he turned back around to face the blonde.
"I'll help you wash your back!"
The debtor almost choked. "That's not necessary."
"Don't be shy Shizu-Chan, I don't mind."
But I do! Shizuo wanted to shout but the raven was already rolling up his sleeves as he made his way over to the tub.
"Izaya, its really alright..."
The informant sat on the edge of the bath behind the blond, sticking his legs into the water on either side of him. "It's ok," he hummed. "Pass me the scrub, please."
It seemed Izaya wasn't planning on letting up, and Shizuo knew that. So, admitting defeat, he passed the scrub over to the raven behind him, who grabbed it with glee.
"Lean forward a little, Shizu-Chan."
The blonde compelled. Whatever, they were both guys anyway, what was the big deal? Plus, Izaya's hands felt like gold against his tense back and he soon felt his muscles relaxing from the wash/massage.
"Does it feel good, Shizu-Chan?" Izaya asked.
"Yeah."
He felt the raven shift to lean forward before a hot breath touched his right ear. "...Good."
"W-what the hell, you lou-" he exclaimed, turning around sharply to get away from the informant. But his sentence was cut off when he slipped backwards, pulling Izaya with him as they both fell into the water, the raven landing on top of him, straddling him. His hand naturally caught the smaller male's waist.
"Ahh..." Izaya sighed, pushing himself up on his hands. "Shizu-Chan..."
It then occurred to Shizuo that he was currently naked with the flea lying on top of him in a very compromising position. Neither male said anything for awhile as a thousand and one thoughts went through the blonde's mind, like 'why am I enjoying the closeness?', 'why aren't I pushing him away?' but his lips remained sealed as he just stared at the informant. His hair was now wet, water droplets dripping down his slightly red face as he stared back.
He only registered when Izaya began to lean forward, but even then his body remained frozen, like he knew what was about to happen, but his body wasn't fighting it, like he somehow...wanted it.
"Izaya..." he whispered, staring at the raven's pink lips getting closer and closer to his. His heart beat hard against his chest as he felt his blood creep further down south. He needed to stop this, fast, before he fell in too deep.
"O-oi, Izaya," he breathed, eyes not moving from the soft lips.
The raven stopped then, staring down at the blonde for a moment before backing up. "Ah," he sighed. "Sorry, Shizu-Chan," he apologized before getting up and out of the tub hastily. "Sorry, I'll leave you to your bath now," he said cheerfully, as if the past minute had not even happened at all, and left without another word.
Shizuo, though, was having a harder time trying to forget the warmth and heat of Izaya's body so close to his, the comfort it brought.
"Ah, shit," he cursed, wanting to punch himself. What the hell was his problem? Reacting that way to the damn flea.
Still grumbling to himself, he drained all the hot water and filled the tub with cold water.
By the time he got out of the bathroom, his skin was ice cold, and it did not help that he had no shirt on.
"Oh, Shizu-Chan, you're done," Izaya piped up. He was lounging on the couch, in a change of dry clothes, reading a magazine and looked up when he saw Shizuo emerge. His eyes roamed over the blonde's naked torso not-so-subtlelly before finally settling back on his face. "Well, uhm, I realized I don't exactly have a spare futon..."
"I'm fine with the couch," the blonde replied nonchalantly. He wanted to get away from the raven as quickly as possible after; what happened in the tub, he didn't really want to get close to him again. "Well, it's late and I kind of want to turn in..."
"Oh, right, I understand." Getting up from the sofa, Izaya stepped aside so he was facing Shizuo. He smiled softly. "Can I get a goodnight kiss?"
Shizuo was almost too ready for this. But just as the disgusted face and No! was about to make its way to his face, he didn't know what happened, but his body moved on its own suddenly, and he leaned forward, placing a peck on the informant's cheeks.
He pulled away, seemingly in just as much shock as Izaya who had obviously not expected it, just like Shizuo who was really starting to hate his own body and understand it less and less. The initial shock wore off for the raven soon, though, as his lips stretched into the biggest grin ever.
"I-Izaya-"
"Thank you, Shizu-Chan!" he beamed. "Goodnight," he wished before running into his own room, leaving Shizuo standing stiff, alone, and very, very confused.
