No one's POV(1)
Wendy opened her eyes slowly and sighed as she heard a couple of the Lost Boys talking quite loudly in the main room. She wanted to yell at them to shut up, but feared if she did she would wake Peter up, who was sleeping beside her and had his arm lazily slung over her side. She laid in the bed for a moment, listening to the Lost Boys ramble. When she couldn't take it anymore she sighed again, loudly, and slowly slipped out from under Peter without waking him. She fixed her a hair a bit and then walked outside to greet the boys.
" Y'all are really loud, do you know that?" She said first thing as she left her bedroom and made her way over to grab an apple. The Lost Boys barely seemed to notice that she had said anything. They just shrugged their shoulders and continued on talking. Wendy rolled her eyes as she took a bite from the apple and scanned the room. "Where's Slightly and Nibs?" Again, they ignored her question. "Guys!" She screamed, causing the table to shake, and now definitely grabbing their attention.
"Holy crap, what?" Tootles snapped his head towards Wendy with his eyes wide, because who wouldn't be a bit shaken up after a table was just shaken violently by a girl.
" Where are Slightly and Nibs?" Wendy snapped, clearly and loudly. She wasn't one for repeating herself. The boys who remained in front of her looked to their left and right, obviously avoiding eye contact with her.
"Uh, well," Chubby cleared his throat as he tried to speak, making Wendy even more impatient.
" They left really early this morning to go get those berries Peter was talking about," Tootles finished for Chubby, since he was having a hard time explaining.
Wendy scrunched her face up in confusion and opened her mouth to speak,"Wha-"
Tootles didn't let her finish, he had to finish his explaining first. " They weren't sure when you were gonna go, and they couldn't stand your screaming and they knew once they got the berries you could leave and fix this mess, so they went to go get them. They left about three hours ago, they'll be back before night. Just be glad they saved you from a longgg hike." He took a big gasp of needed air and Wendy took this as a chance to speak.
" What if they get hurt or something? I bet they're real slow or something, what if Peter knew a shortcut but the boys didn't? What if they get lost? They could take days."
" We're Lost Boys. Lost Boys don't get hurt, or lost." Chubby scoffed at the idea as he stood up to get him something to eat.
"How do you not get lost? You're lost boys," Wendy asked confused, almost changing the subject unintentionally.
"There's more than one definition of lost," Tootles rolled his eyes at Wendy," and stop freaking out they're fine." Wendy didn't respond, instead she just continued eating her apple as she sat with the boys in silence.
There was a creaking sound and they all turned their heads to see the source of the noise. Peter had opened the bedroom door and was now rubbing one of his eyes and slowly drudging into the main room. Wendy chuckled lightly as she took a quickly glance at her finger tips which still seemed, somehow, to be crusted in blood.
"There's more blood." He mumbled as he plopped himself atop the table they eat at. They all snapped their heads toward him, confused about his statement. It didn't even seem to phase him. He just sat on the table, swinging his legs.
"What?"
He turned around to face her, swinging his legs over the table, and now sitting criss-cross. " Blood on the wall. There's another message in blood on the wall."
What, no, there's no way, I would've seen it, Wendy thought frantically as she stood up from her chair, causing it to skid backwards and make an annoying noise as it did so.
She ran quickly back into the room, her feet making a loud pounding noise, and the boys followed close behind her. When she entered into the room she looked frantically all around, glancing quickly at each wall. Then she spotted it. It wasn't nearly as big as the first one, and it was right next to the table next to the bed, almost like someone had to crouch down to write it. She rushed quickly over to it and crouched down, reading the message:
ACCEPT IT. LET IT IN.
Wendy widened her eyes and gasped lightly as she stumbled backwards. That is what the voices had been telling her, over and over and over. When she stood up and turned around to look at everyone they looked confused. Peter was the only one who looked at her worried. She knew he thought she was going off the deep end, absolutely, no doubt about it, crazy.
"I didn't do this." She finally breathed out, trying to stop her shaking arms. Peter raised his eyebrow skeptically and gazed down at her hand. Her fingertips specifically. He was right next to her in a matter of seconds, lightly holding her arm and showing Wendy her hand.
"I think you did." He spoke lowly, gesturing towards the dry blood under her finger tips, and the light blood stain on the palette of her pointer finger.
"I-I," she stuttered looking back between her fingers and Peter," I don't remember doing it. I don't even remember dreaming about it."
"You could've been sleep walking," Tootles suggested, trying to be helpful, but not doing such a great job at it.
"Yes, obviously I was sleep walking. What I'm saying is, I don't remember dreaming about it. Last time I wrote in blood on the wall, I dreamt about it." Wendy explained for what seemed like the thirtieth time. For some unknown reason the boys didn't understand what she was saying.
"Oh," was all that Tootles responded with, while rubbing his neck awkwardly. There was a silence for a few moments, no one had anything to say, or know what to say. Wendy hardly noticed though, she was still trying to process everything, and scrubbing at the blood on her fingernails.
As Wendy scrubbed even harder she scrunched her eyes up in confusion. Whose blood was this? She stopped scrubbing and her breath hitched in her throat. The blood was most definitely not hers, so, whose was it exactly?
" Well, I guess this means we should probably go get those berries so we can leave soon," Peter spoke, not knowing two of the boys had already left to get them.
Wendy stopped and looked up at Peter and then responded, " Slightly and Nibs left this morning to do that, now we have to wait for them to get back," A confused expression quickly washed over onto Peter's face, but then quickly faded when he spoke again.
"Oh, well that was nice of 'em. Saved us a hard hike," Wendy looked up at him to see if he was serious. How could he be okay with it?
"You mean it doesn't bother you?" Wendy asked a bit harshly, still absentmindedly picking at the dried blood.
"No, why would it?" Peter asked, as the Lost Boys, who had gotten bored with the conversation, left the room.
"I don't know," She began, looking around the room and plopping down onto her bed," They could get the wrong thing, they could get lost, they could take days to get it. If we had gone we could've gotten it sooner, now," Peter scoffed, but then chuckled at Wendy, who seemed distraught, and he didn't really know why.
" It's okay, they'll get it as fast as we have had gotten it. Besides, it gives us time to talk, and I really need to talk to you." Wendy's facial expression changed from distraught, to confused very quickly.
"About what?" She asked hesitantly as Peter sat on her bed, across from her.
" So, remember how I said that the thing Hook did to you, was affecting me also?"
"Sure.." Wendy scrunched her face up while pressing her lips together, trying to recall when he had told her that, though, nothing seemed to come to mind.
Peter playfully rolled his eyes at her response before he continued his explanation," Well it is. Not like you though. I'm not able to do telekinesis like you, or make black sparks spew from me or anything, but my personality I suppose is changing? Like yours is, I guess some of the sucker affected a small part of my heart, because Im not caring as much," by now Wendy had her mouth parted lightly, intently listening to him speak. This may be bad for him, but for her, it made her, in a way, happy. She now had someone who could somewhat relate to her and how she was feeling. " It's like my feelings have hardened. I don't care much about anyone anymore, except for you and the Lost Boys, and people who haven't done wrong. I don't know how to explain it," He paused a moment, still figuring out how to phrase it, " Like if someone has done wrong, or hurt someone, I feel like they should be punished, severely, like death, and that's not normal for me. I always believed in second chances, always. When you created that fire at the hospital, before I would've yelled at you, told you that you possibly just hurt, or even killed a handful of people, but I didn't, because they were trying to hurt us, stop us from leaving, so I thought, and still think, they deserved that fire. Wendy, it's awful. I don't know how to stop it."
"You can't." Wendy suddenly piped in, with almost no emotion. "Look, I don't want to sound like a bitch, but just be grateful. Be grateful you don't want to kill 95% of the population just because of how they look at you, or how they get in the way of a tiny plan. Because that's me, I don't care that I don't care anymore. I wanna say I wish I did, but I don't. All my kindness is about all gone, but you, you, you still have at least 75% left. It'll be okay, you'll be okay. We'll get through it together, alright?" Peter shook his head slowly.
He grasped her hand lightly as he stared at her and smiled, "Alright."
Her response was a smirk.
A smirk with so much meaning.
"Why aren't they back yet?" Wendy screamed, causing Chubby to jump lightly, " the sun is setting, and they are not back! If they're not back by the time that stupid sun is set, I'm going to kill 'em, I'm going to kill 'em!" She threw her arm down with rage, shooting a large black bolt onto the floor, causing a small area of the wood to turn into a black, burnt circle.
"No you're not." Peter reassured Wendy, knowing she didn't mean what she was saying.
"You don't know what I can do," She growled at Peter as she paced around the room.
Heh, yeah, I think I do. Peter thought as he watched Wendy pace continuously in the room.
" But, you wouldn't want to hurt Slightly, would you?" Peter cocked his head and waited for her response. Her eyes immediately softened and her shoulders relaxed.
"No," She sighed, " I just wish they'd hurry up." And as If on queue, Slightly and Nibs stumbled down the stairs and into the main room, basket of magic berries in hand.
"Finally!" Wendy squealed, giving Slightly a very quick side hug, and grabbing the basket from his grasp.
"You're welcome," Nibs responded sarcastically as he sat himself at the kitchen table.
"Thanks," Wendy managed to mumble back as she grabbed a handful of berries from the wicker basket. "Let's go," She flashed a smile at Peter as she stuffed a few berries into her mouth.
"Uh, we're not leaving now," Peter answered slowly, afraid she might bite his head off or something.
"What?" She screeched," I want to leave now, though."
"We can't. Its dark out and we will get lost. It's safe to go in the morning," Peter looked at her sternly as she tried to stand her ground.
"But-"
"We just a new a few hours of sleep, that's all. We'll leave as soon as we wake up, no matter what time it is. We need some sleep first, though."
She realized they weren't, under any circumstances, going to leave tonight, so she reluctantly agreed. Besides, his offers weren't that bad.
"Promise?" She looked up at him with doe eyes.
"Promise." He assured her as he stepped closer to her, now they stood only four inches or so apart.
"Thanks babe." She grinned as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, which she hadn't done in a while, and she had to admit, it felt good. He pulled her closer, neither one of them wanting to break the kiss. And they wouldn't have if it hadn't been for the loud coughs filled throughout the room.
They pressed their heads together and smiled, " I love you." Wendy whispered, before pecking his lips once more, and shooing the Lost Boys away.
1. Im going to be writing in third person from now on, Unless y'all specifically ask otherwise, it's just a lot easier and you get to see everything, and not just things from one person.
So, Im back! Yeah, y'all probably thought I abandoned this, which I did-almost. I just got super busy and engrossed with other stories that I just kinda let this lay to the side. Im sorry, but I promise Im back! Expect another chapter in the next couple of days or so.( Maybe a week, either way I will write whenever I can, my summer is super busy).
Review, please! ( If it hadn't been for y'alls reviews, I wouldn't have continued!)
Happy 4th of July!
