Sorry this took so long. I know I told a few people (mainly TezuSezu) I would have it up before the end of summer but um yeah sorry about that. At least I updated right?
"Where are we going?" Gokudera asked after a few minutes of walking.
"I'm not sure. I need to find Leon though." He had a sense of uncertainty. Gokudera gave him a questioning look.
"He's not with Reborn?"
"No, apparently there was a wild party last night and Leon got switched with a dummy. Reborn didn't notice but sometime tells me that this is a part of his plan also."
"His plan? Plan for what?"
"I don't know, but I wish I did."
Gokudera didn't say anymore on the matter. Both boys turned the corner and Gokudera immediately recognized that they were headed towards the school.
"Aren't you going to say anything?" Tsuna asked right before they stepped on the school grounds. "You usually do."
"You know what I'm going to say," he started, "I really don't want you to-"
"Ok, I get it. But you don't have to follow me around so much. All I want to do is talk with him."
"If you really want to talk, then why don't you talk with your friends?" Gokudera asked. It's more personal than that, Tsuna thought.
"Maybe because he doesn't want to speak with a delinquent," a voice called out. The two boy quickly looked over to the voice and saw Hibari standing there with his tonfas out ready to fight.
"You son of a bitch," Gokudera replied.
"The both of you are trespassing on school ground, prepare to get-"
"Stop!" Tsuna yelled. "Both of you."
"Boyfriend or not, you're still in trouble for trespassing."
Tsuna gave him a look and it didn't even faze Hibari. Gokudera already had his dynamite out, also ready to fight. The last thing Tsuna wanted to do was get into a fight, especially with his fingers in a brace.
"Look, I just came to talk, but I guess I can do that another time," he said, looking at the ground. "But I need to ask a question."
BOOM!
A stick of dynamite went off in Hibari's direction, but of course he dodged it. He lunged forward at Gokudera. Tsuna quickly got out the way and watched them fight. Just outside the school gates, he noticed Bianchi and the kids walking with bag in their hands. Bianchi glared, but still waved at him. Tsuna waved back. They left and Tsuna turned back to the fight. It was time to break it up.
"Sorry it got out of hand, Tenth," Gokudera said sheepishly. Tsuna glanced at him and relaxed.
"That's ok, I guess I can understand why you would be angry at him."
"Really?" he said happily. Tsuna kept quiet. The two of them were on their way to TakeSushi where the party apparently was at last night. Tsuna got both fighters to settle down and he was able to ask Hibari if there was any noise complaints of parties happening last night in Namimori. After that, it took Tsuna some explaining and convincing to do before he could get an answer out of him. He named off several places, but he mentioned that a few of the Arcobalenos were there celebrating something. Of course, only got all of that information after he promised Hibari a one-on-one fight with him once his fingers healed and could give a fair fight.
It was weird to Tsuna though. The night before they had shared a connection with each other but today Hibari was acting like he normally does. Tsuna thought it must have been something to do with the fact that Gokudera was with him. The moment they entered TakeSushi, Yamamoto was already by Tsuna's side, asking questions.
"So is it really true what Enma is saying about you?"
Tsuna gaped at him in surprise.
"Wow, he's spreading the news fast," Tsuna said, almost impressed at his friend's dedication to get people on his side to ruin Tsuna and Hibari's relationship.
"It's true!" Gokudera confirmed.
"Hey!" Tsuna protested. "That's not what we came here for." Tsuna turned towards Yamamoto. "Was there a party here last night?"
"Yeah, but I wasn't a part of it. I was in my room studying."
"Wow, miracles do happen," Gokudera retorted. Tsuna shot him a look, but he didn't seem to notice or care. In fact, he looked a little smug.
"I didn't want him to be caught in the middle of the party. It got a little too wild," his father called out from behind the counter.
"But with a party that big, wouldn't you need extra help?" Tsuna asked.
"Well, no. They rented out the place for the night and they actually didn't order that much," Tsuyoshi explained. "They were an easy bunch."
Tsuna doubted every word he said about them being an easy bunch, especially if the party got wild. They were a bunch of infants. What did they do?
"Did you happen to see a left behind chameleon?" Tsuna asked.
"I think I remember one. His name is Leon right?" Tsuyoshi asked. Tsuna nodded. "Yeah, one of them took him home. The one with the helmet."
"Skull," the three said in unison.
"Thank you so much!" Tsuna said. "We have to get going."
"I'll go with you two," Yamamoto said. His dad waved him off, letting him know it was ok. Gokudera rolled his eyes, and Tsuna nodded that it was ok for him to come too. The moment they left the restaurant, Yamamoto asked if they had any idea where Skull might be.
"No, but if we walk around town, maybe we might see him, right? I don't think he would be hiding. Although he probably should if he has something of Reborn's. Besides, I don't want to go back to Reborn and tell him the news. He'd probably get angry."
"Well, I think it's good that we get to hang out like this. We get to talk," Yamamoto said. Tsuna knew what was about to come. "Why are you dating Hibari? And what happened to your fingers?"
"It's a long story and I don't really want to talk about that right now."
"Tsuna, I think we should," Gokudera said solemnly. "I don't think he's right for you."
"Yeah, how did you even start dating him?"
"Depends," Tsuna said, as he noticed a small arrow on the sidewalk, marked with chalk. It must have been some kid. "What did Enma tell you?"
"That you're only dating him because you had to."
Tsuna thought for a minute to collect his thoughts.
"That's not entirely true. I didn't really have to do anything. But I did feel pressured into to. But things are different now. I really didn't like him at-"
"Then why are you still with him?" Gokudera asked.
"-first but I really like him now."
"Hey, does this have anything to do with you smoking?"
Tsuna smiled at Yamamoto sheepishly.
"How do you know if you like him or you love him?" Gokudera asked. "I think you should be waiting to find that out."
"I don't want to talk about this anymore."
"Tsuna please-"
"I said no!" Tsuna huffed. "Let me do this on my own."
The three of them stopped and Tsuna tried to collect his thoughts.
"Let's go home. I don't think we'll find Skull today. We'll look for him when we have an idea where he might be," Tsuna finally said. They both agreed and were about to say their goodbyes.
"WAIT!"
The three of them looked around. They saw Skull, standing on top of a wall.
"You can't be serious about going home!"
They looked at him in confusion.
"You were so close to finding me! Didn't you notice the clues?" Skull asked desperately. The three of them were still confused. Skull waited for a response but he got none.
"Didn't you notice the arrows?"
"Oh, I thought some kid drew that," Tsuna said. Skull looked pissed. Gokudera nodded and Yamamoto quietly commented that he didn't notice any.
"Well it doesn't matter! This is the end for all of you!"
Skull pulled a small cage out of seemingly nowhere and inside was Leon.
"You better give me what I want or he dies!"
"Skull, don't do it!" Tsuna freaked out. Gokudera already had his dynamite out and Yamamoto was in his battle stance with his sword. "Skull just give Leon back."
"You're not even going to ask what I want," Skull asked sadly. "I deserve respect. I guess it doesn't matter! I'm going to tell-"
"No one cares," Reborn said as he kicked Skull from the side. Reborn, who arrived out of nowhere, had a smirk on his face. Tsuna wondered if Reborn was following them all day.
"Stupid Tsuna, you were taking too long," he said as he kicked Tsuna also. "I thought I told you to get Leon back for me."
Reborn jumped back up on the wall and released Leon. Leon looked pleased and immediately settled himself down on Reborn's hat. Yamamoto relaxed and laughed it off.
"Wait a second! This isn't how my plan's supposed to go!" Skull whined.
"No one likes a sore loser. Be gone or else," Reborn said casually as he point a Leon colored gun at Skull's face. Skull quickly left in fear. "Well Tsuna, what do you have to say for yourself?"
Tsuna huffed angrily "Let's just go home."
Gokudera and Yamamoto said their goodbyes and Reborn and Tsuna walked home together. On the way there, they ran into Bianchi and the kids.
"Hello Tsuna. I assume you got that thing sorted out earlier today?"
Tsuna laughed weakly. He eyed Reborn, wondering what he would say.
"I already knew about that Tsuna," he replied. "I actually told Hibari that you were coming to visit him."
"Wait a second, you told him that, but you refused to give me his phone number? You clearly had it! Why couldn't I just talk with him on your phone?"
"It's nice to get outside every once in a while," Bianchi replied. Reborn nodded in agreement.
"Yah ha! Stupid Tsuna should have brought Lambo with him! Lambo would have protected you!"
"Lambo!" I-pin protested. Bianchi chuckled at the situation. Reborn didn't find it humorous though. Lambo kept laughing, putting Reborn into a bad mode. Tsuna was about to change the subject when Lambo tripped and fell on his face.
"Are you alright?" Tsuna yelled.
"Hold... it... in..." Lambo immediately busted into tears and pulled out the ten year bazooka.
"Lambo no!" Tsuna said as he tried to grab it out of his hands. The bazooka slipped out of his hands and bounced around. Reborn (and everyone else) effectively dodged it. However, Tsuna stumbled and landed in the direct path of the bazooka. It immediately sucked him in and Reborn had a sour look on his face. They all waited in anticipation for what they would see once the pink smoke cleared, wondering if they would even see anything at all.
"Hello Reborn."
The smoked cleared and an older Tsuna appeared.
"Oh wow," Bianchi said. "Look at you, all grown up."
"Wah ha! Stupid Tsuna is taller!"
"Lambo! He's older!"
"I must say, you do look well put together," Reborn smirked. Tsuna smiled back at him.
"Well you're certainly in a good mood today," Tsuna said. He thought for a moment. "Of course, I only assume. How are you doing today?"
"Stupid Tsuna," Reborn smirked, "you should already know that since you've already experienced the past." Reborn jumped forward to kick Tsuna in the head, but he quickly dodged it.
"I'm smarter and quicker than I was in the past Re-"
Reborn kicked him in the back of the head on the rebound. Tsuna grimaced but quickly picked himself up off the ground. He didn't complain.
"Not quick or smart enough apparently."
"I supposed that's still true, but I only ask because I was taught to be polite. Namely by you."
Reborn looked pleased. "I was clearly a good tutor." Tsuna smiled but didn't say anything. Lambo was begging to go home, bored of TYL Tsuna already. Bianchi bid Tsuna and Reborn farewell and the three of them left.
"So you got married," Reborn said as he noticed Tsuna's left ring finger. Tsuna smiled and lifted his hand to show it off. It was a very simple ring, made of silver. There was nothing special about it, or at least nothing special from Reborn's eyes.
"Well, I wasn't going to stay single and unwed forever."
"So the future worked out for you," Reborn mused. "A happy ending to your fairy tale?" Tsuna's face grew dark and sighed.
"I can't exactly say that. The future is unpredictable and unreliable. I wish I could say things worked out like I want them to be."
"Is the state of the future at risk?" Reborn asked very concerned. He questioned if he should be worried about an upcoming war. Tsuna shook his head. "And what about Hibari?"
Tsuna looked amused and smiled before he was engulfed in a cloud of pink smoke. TYL Tsuna was back in his respected time. He was glad he didn't have to answer that complicated question. He looked up to see the messy state of the meeting room that was clean five minutes prior.
"Ok," he said sternly, startling the others in the room. "Time to get back to business."
I'll try to get the next chapter out sooner.
