-Chapter 8-

A/N - Don't own anything... yup. So, enjoy this chapter. ^.^ (Sorry that I haven't updated...) Don't forget to review at the end, mates. :D

"So if they told you the truth and everything, then you'd be smart enough to blast them and teleport me, Johnny and yourself out of here and back to The Ghost Zone where we can party again!" Kitty said with joy in her voice.

"Wait, what?" Danny asked in a sad tone.

"Well, what did you think was going to happen?" Johnny asked in a unbelieving voice.

"I don't know... I kind of hoped Ember and me could still be kind of friends here..." Sam admitted since she had really enjoyed her time talking to Ember and their friendship; even if it was supposed to be fake.

"What!? Are you serious!?" Kitty asked shocked thinking Sam had gone insane to even think Ember would be her real friend.

"If I may interject here-" Tucker began to say but Johnny cut him of saying, "-Shut it, nerd."

"Jeez, Johnny. There's no point in being rude..." Ember said with her hands on her hips.

"Why are you defending him!? He partly lied to you for the past one or two months!" Johnny shouted back.

Ember didn't have an answer, she would have said because Tucker was one of her best friends, but she couldn't bring herself to make that statement.

"C'mon, Ember. Teleport us out of here! It's quicker!" Kitty commanded as she grabbed Ember's arm and Johnny's.

"Wait, Ember!" Danny abruptly said as he grabbed Ember's hand.

"Phantom, let go so she can teleport us!" Johnny said aggressively.

"Ember, please!" Danny, Sam and Tucker said in unity.

"Ember, hurry up and shake the punks off!" Johnny said as he tried shoving Danny.

"I... can't..." Ember said softly as she flew out of everyone's grasps and quickly turned intangible so no one could grab her again, she then teleported somewhere else; no one was sure where she went.

"See what you did!" Kitty said directing her voice and anger towards Danny.

"Us?! You were pressurising her! You weren't giving her space!" Sam yelled out.

"Us not giving her space! You guys grabbed onto her!" Johnny shouted.

"Yeah, 'WE grabbed onto her' You grabbed her first!" Tucker said edging into the conversation.

"Guys, please calm down..." Danny said sensibly.

"C'mon, Johnny. Let's find Ember." Kitty said jumping on the back of Johnny's bike.

"No! Sam's right, we all need to give her time..." Danny said as he walked to a nearby bench to sit calmly as he turned back into Danny Fenton.

Of course, Johnny and Kitty weren't listening and had already ridden off on Johnny's bike in search for Ember.

"Danny, c'mon, we have to go before Johnny and Kitty find Ember first!" Tucker said tugging on Danny's shirt.

"No, wouldn't you be confused if a load of people were pressuring you without choice when you would really need a choice?" Danny asked looking down at the ground.

"Well, yeah of course, but-" Sam answered with a small shrug, she was about to debate but Danny stopped her there.

"-There's nothing else to say. She needs time, just leave her be for a few hours..." Danny said with a sigh since he-himself wanted to go see Ember but knew better.

"What about Johnny and Kitty?" Tucker asked.

Danny only had just forgot about them both, "I'm not sure, I guess they're going to learn the meaning of 'go away' on their own..."

Tucker nodded in understanding as he and Sam took a seat next to Danny.

-Meanwhile with Johnny and Kitty-

"Johnny, speed up! Those wannabes could have already found Ember!" Kitty yelled.

"Speed up!? Are you kidding me!? We'll be there hours before those punks get there!"

-Meanwhile with Ember-

"I... can't..." Ember said softly as she flew out of everyone's grasps and quickly turned intangible so no one could grab her again, she then teleported somewhere else, no one was sure where she went.

Ember teleported into her realm, "Finally...some place to chill and a place I know I'm safe..." Ember sighed.

*Knock knock*

"No one's home!" Ember shouted, 'Oh wait...ugh dipstick! Idiot!' Ember thought annoyed with herself.

"Even if that were true, I would still know you are present."

Ember recognized that voice all too well, "Because... you know everything..." Ember said softly as she opened her realm door to see Clockwork.

"Indeed, may I come in?" Clockwork asked knowing the answer.

"You know I'm going to say yes anyway, so just come in..." Ember said fed up as she floated back into her realm with Clockwork following.

"Why are you here?" Ember asked curiously, just because Clockwork knew everything, it didn't mean Ember did too.

"Just to talk." Clockwork said simply.

"Funny that, I don't believe you... from what I remember -which is by the way everything now- is that you were always here to bring 'bad news'..." Ember said with a fake chuckle.

"Very true." Was Clockwork's reply, "Though, this time I really do only wish to speak with you..."

"Look, just go away..." Ember said waving her hand towards the door.

"I understand you need time to think on your own."

"Yeah, I need time! Finally someone gets it!" Ember exclaimed with a joyful smile.

"Young Daniel also believes you need 'the space'." Clockwork said formally.

"No he doesn't... he was grabbing my arm too... you of all people should know that, even if you weren't there." Ember said with a loud sigh.

"Yes he did. Though at this moment he is not the one looking everywhere for you."

"What? Why isn't he looking for me?" Ember asked oddly.

"He believes you need time. Kitty and Johnny however, are the ones who are searching." Clockwork said watching Ember float back and forth around her realm pointlessly.

"What about Tucker and Sam?" Ember asked curiously.

"They are listening to Daniel." Was Clockwork's blank reply.

Ember layed back and asked, "What should I do Clockwork?"

"I should not interfere with time unless time is in danger, I only come to tell you to think on your own." Clockwork advised.

"I was doing that anyway..." Ember said a little annoyed and then she asked, "Would you help me think? Like, give me advice along with my thinking?"

"I do not see why not."

-Back to Danny, Sam and Tucker-

Sam, Tucker and Danny were in Sam's mansion in the basement sipping cola while watching something on Sam's cinema screen.

"Ugh, Danny I can't take it! Johnny and Kitty have probably already found Ember and are probably convincing her to leave us forever!" Sam said jumping off her seat and to her feet.

Danny didn't say anything, he only sighed.

"Yeah, Danny! Just because you're not going to be her boyfriend again, doesn't mean we all can't still be friends! And with Johnny and Kitty there that doesn't seem possible!" Tucker said shaking Danny's shoulders.

"Guys, please!" Danny said as he tried to pry Tucker's hands off his shoulders.

"No, Danny. If you don't go after Ember, me and Sam will!" Tucker said letting go off Danny.

"Yeah." Sam said in agreement as she and Tucker left Danny to watch movies.

Danny was confused about a lot of what was happening, but he was sure of one thing: that people need time to figure things out, Clockwork had always taught him about how time was precious and needed to be kept intact too. (Even though at that moment Danny was watching a movie in a basement cinema "keeping time precious".)

Danny took a deep breath and roared, "Going ghost!"

-Back To Ember-

Ember was explaining her side and point of everything that has happened the past two months and mainly what she thought about the past few hours.

"... and I don't understand what to do..." Ember said with a sigh.

"I do believe you understand the concept of what is going on, you are only unsure of what to do but you do understand." Clockwork said with a slight smile.

"Come again?" Ember asked confused.

"Your understanding of the situation is understandable by you since you have just explained to me what has happened," Clockwork began to say.

"Yeah I know... your point is?" Ember asked raising an eyebrow.

"My point being is that you do understand. You are only unsure of what to do."

"Uh huh... so how does that help me?" Ember asked a little irritated since anybody could come knocking on her door and she would have to answer to somebody she wouldn't want to talk to.

"It doesn't." Was Clockwork's simply reply, though it had a hint of humor in it.

"Great." Ember said sarcastically then added, "So, when does the useful advice come?"

"In time." Clockwork said plainly.

"Right..." Ember said giving up, she then sat down on her couch and began to turn her already perfectly tuned guitar, she just wanted something to do -to pass time- in other words.

"So when are Kitty and Johnny coming?" Ember asked since Clockwork knew everything; she might as well ask when they were coming.

"In time." Clockwork repeated.

"Fantastic, very useful..." Ember continued with the sarcasm.

It stayed like this for a while: Ember tuning her guitar pointlessly and Clockwork floating in place.

"Why are you actually here if you're not planning to actually help me?" Ember asked frustrated.

"I am planning to." Clockwork said with a small smug smile since he could see she was getting annoyed.

"Well then, lay some advice on me!" Ember said throwing her hands in the air as she got up.

"In-" Before Clockwork could finish, Ember did for him, "-In time! Yeah, yeah I know!"

"Ember, you have guests." Clockwork said with a smirk knowing what Ember was about to say.

"What do you-" Ember began saying but halfway though her sentence she heard a raging knock on her door.

Clockwork's smirk ticked Ember off, "Oh shut up..."

Ember opened her door expecting two annoying concerned ghost teenagers but instead she saw Tucker and Sam.

"EMBER!" Sam said joyfully as she and Tucker ran in Ember's realm and bombarded her with hugs.

"Clockwork?" Tucker said as he let go off Ember and noticing that Clockwork was in the room also.

"Hello." Clockwork said emotionless, he didn't bother with a wave and neither did Tucker nor Sam.

"What are you doing here?" Sam asked aiming the question to Clockwork.

"I was about to ask you guys the same thing..." Ember said with her arms crossed.

"Well, we thought Kitty and Johnny were going to find you first..." Tucker answered which wasn't the answer Ember was looking for.

"We thought Kitty and Johnny were going to try stop you from making a choice..." Sam added.

"Where's Danny?" Ember asked casually.

"He didn't want to come..." Sam answered with a frown.

"What? Why?" Asked Ember, Ember didn't want Danny to come but she thought that Danny would want to see her.

"He's got this stupid idea in his head that 'You need time to figure things out' and how stupid is that? He was being really unreasonable when we tried to get him to help us find you!" Tucker said with his eyes closed, unhappy with Danny's behaviour.

'Huh, Clockwork was right about Danny.' Ember thought to herself.

"Well, I kind of do, so can you guys leave?" Ember said as a statement than question as she attempted to push Tucker and Sam out her realm door.

"Wait, Ember!" Sam said grinding her combat boots against the realm ground to try stop herself from moving any closer to the door.

"Yeah! What if Johnny and Kitty get here!?" Tucker asked yelling.

"Then I'll kick them out too!" Ember said as she gave one final push and shoved Sam and Tucker out her realm.

Ember gave a irritated puff and sat down roughly onto her couch. "Could I be of assistance?" Ember heard Clockwork's voice pipe up and say.

Ember didn't answer since the answer should have been obvious, but in Clockwork's case, he should have already known the answer.

"I am expecting Johnny and Kitty soon." Clockwork said emotionlessly as usual.

"I could have guessed that..." Ember mumbled in a sour mood.

"You make my job sound easy." Clockwork murmured.

"No, no! Your job is 'extremely' hard, I mean, honestly! Not any idiot could just stare at screens all day and watch people's misery pass... you have to be trained to watch the screens precisely..." Ember said with all the sarcasm she could muster.

Clockwork ignored the sarcasm for the moment. "Why must you take your problems out on me?"

"Because I can." Ember answered childishly as she crossed her arms and moped, "Why do you watch everything go pass and not do anything about it?" Ember asked.

"Because I can." Clockwork childishly imitated with a small amusing smile.

"Oh, shut up." Ember said in a grouchy mood.

"By the way, I do not just 'stare at screens all day and watch people's misery pass' I also watch the good as well, I keep the future in order, I make sure the past will be kept intact as well as the present. I stop things from this time from destroying the past or/and future. I also-" Clockwork began to describe the importance of time itself but stopped when he heard Ember yawn.

"-Yes, yes, Clockwork. Your job is important... I was only messing with you earlier." Ember said with a yawn.

"Indeed." Clockwork said in a uncaring mood.

"DAMMIT, EMBER. WE KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE, GET OUT HERE AND TALK TO US!" Ember heard Kitty scream through her door.

"Well, that's my cue to make a run for it..." Ember said as she ran upstairs.

"Kitty, don't knock the door down..." Johnny said through Ember's realm door.

"I was going to put it back up later!" Kitty said clawing, knocking, bashing and raging against the door.

'Wow, someone needs anger management classes, huh... guess what Kitten, I know what I'm getting you for christmas.' Johnny thought as he stood seeing his girlfriend knock down a locked door.

"AMBER. FREAKING. MCLEAN! GET DOWN HERE!" Kitty screamed upstairs since Ember wasn't downstairs.

"Hello" Clockwork said calmly.

"What the hell are you doing here!?" Kitty asked raged that Ember let Clockwork in, but kept her locked outside.

"I would ask you the same thing, but I already know." Clockwork said as he waved a small hello to Johnny who nodded back.

"Where is she?!" Kitty asked ignoring Clockwork's last remark.

"I don't know." Clockwork said with a shrug.

"You think I'm stupid? You know everything, where is she or where is she going?!" Kitty asked stomping towards Clockwork hoping to threaten him.

"I believe the place young Ember is looking for is..." Clockwork half-answered.

"...THE PLACE EMBER IS LOOKING FOR IS...?" Kitty asked with her eyes beaming luminous green.

"Far away." Clockwork finished as he teleported in his clock portal.

"Hahaha!" Johnny thought this was hilarious since all Clockwork was doing was stalling and teasing Kitty though Kitty looked as if she would be willing to end someone.

Kitty darted her head behind her to stare at Johnny with her enraged luminous emerald-green eyes to stop him laughing.

Johnny quickly stopped laughing and nervously said "Erm, we should go find Ember now..."

-Meanwhile with Danny-

Danny was walking through the only park in Amity alone, taking each step as if each square of concrete would crack the second you stepped on it.

Danny looked at every feature and part of the park: the parts that were still under reconstruction from when he first met "Amber", the parts of the park that was where he and Ember would usually sit if they went there to play on their guitars and the part of the park where he and Ember would simply talk about their day or their troubles.

Danny sighed loudly as he sat down on his and Ember's favourite bench. Danny thought about how alone he was now. Before, he had Sam and Tucker to talk about his day and his troubles, but it wasn't the same. Danny sighed again, "Alone... this is how it's going to be now..." Danny said under his breath.

Above Danny was a figure, a figure that sighed in depression and loneliness as Danny did. "I don't know what to do either baby-pop..." The figure said very softly that it was mouthed.

The figure took off on a guitar and into the sky.

"Danny? What are you doing here?" Tucker and Sam asked in sync.

"Huh? Oh hey, guys... nothing... what about you guys?" Danny asked back.

"We were uh... well, we found Ember, but..." Sam stuttered to say.

"Wait, what!? Is she okay!?" Danny sprung up and asked.

"In terms of physically, yeah she's fine. In terms of mentally, her mind is screwed up... I mean... you, me and Sam did kind of have that effect." Tucker answered with a small shrug.

Danny groaned and sat back down calmly then sighed outwardly.

-Back to Ember-

"I need to find an isolated and far away place to just rest." Ember mumbled as she flew to no where in particular and came across a quiet icy place.

"To whom do I owe the pleasure of your presence?" A tall figure said as he leant towards Ember.

"Huh? Oh I'm sorry... I didn't think anyone lived here... I'll leave now." Ember replied.

"Hold one moment, I know you, young one. Ember McLain, is it?" The man asked.

"Uh, yeah... how do you know me?" Ember asked raising an eyebrow.

"I am Frostbite, leader of the Far Frozen." Frostbite said with a smile. "And, I know of you because The Great One speaks of you highly."

"Who's 'The Great One'?" Ember asked curiously.

"The young Danny Phantom; me and my people respect him for many reason hence the name and that he defeated Pariah Dark successfully and saved The Ghost Zone." Frostbite answered.

"Oh." Ember said with a slight nod.

This ain't really a cliff hanger, but oh well. I haven't been writing lately at all, I'll admit. It's only because... eh, screw excuses. There are pretty good damn reasons, but the main reason is because I am a pretty lazy person. ^.^

Please review! I don't have as many as my other story so I'm starting to think this one's crap. XD
