Welcome back everyone and also for those who know who is after Derek, thank you. Thank you for not spoiling it for everyone and now she will appear in this chapter. For those who don't know who she is well you'll find out right now.
Thanks to everyone who left their reviews and to my friend for his help on the story. Also want those to know in case you come across this: the Italic will represent the Pokemon talking and Bold is for thoughts. Got it? Good, time for the disclaimer. I don't own anything of Pokemon just my OC and those who gave me their OCs I appreciate it. Let the chapter begin.
A new arrival
Oreburgh City (Rachel's pov)
The next day we checked out of the hotel and headed out back to Jubilife City. Dawn's contest is tomorrow and we need to get there so she can participate. After all the training she got from Derek and Ryan, we're confident that she will do well in the contest. However, we needed to get back before it begins and not encounter any detour.
Derek and Dawn told us about what happened yesterday with their counter with this strange woman. They told us about the outfits they were wearing and how they stole something from Jubilife City. We went to the cops later and told them what happened. They then told us they will handle finding this woman and bring her in.
Still, we're just glad our friends are okay and survived. I also wish we could have gone after this woman and take her down. However, we couldn't waste any time going after her since Dawn's contest was coming up soon so we had to leave this to the professionals.
"All right everyone," started Derek. "We are going back to Jubilife City, so our blue hair friend can win her first contest, and win her first ribbon."
"I can't wait," said Dawn. "Do you think the people will like my performance?"
"Of course they will," said Ryan showing his support. "Why wouldn't they? You'll knock them dead."
Just make sure you don't actually do that or you'll get kicked out. I knew there was no chance of that happening, but with Derek training her you never know.
"Relax, she'll do well." Derek takes out his watch and begins messing around with it. "Okay, how do you get the map settings to appear?"
Dawn lets out a small giggle and shows him how the watch works. While they work that out I turn to Ryan and let out a sad sigh, which he heard.
"Are you okay Rachel?"
I tried my best to hide my sadness, but I couldn't. I wish I didn't evolve.
Ryan stares at me confused. "Why? Don't you like being a Gardevoir?"
I nod my head. Yes, I love it.
"So, what's the problem?"
I point towards his shoulder. You can't carry me on your shoulder anymore. I miss it.
Ryan snickers and he grabs my hand. "If you want I can give you a piggy back ride."
My sadness disappeared and I got happy. Really? You don't mind?
"Sure…wait you want me to carry you now?"
I nod and jumped on his back. Yes please.
We hear a camera clicking and see a flash of light hitting us. In front of us Dawn and Derek both took a picture of Ryan giving me a piggyback ride.
Dawn giggles as she puts her camera away. "Awww, you two look so cute together."
Derek nods his head in agreement. "Yeah, you two look like a couple."
I can feel my face turning red as I got off Ryan. Hand those cameras over or you'll suffer my wrath. Derek grabs Dawn and they take off running. Come back here!
Meanwhile (Normal pov)
Unbeknownst to the group the young girl who spoke to Nurse Joy was on their trail. She arrived to the city half an hour ago and had just barely missed the group when they checked out of the hotel. She went to the Pokemon center where the Nurse Joy there told them where they were staying.
She went to the hotel and the receptionist there told her they had checked out. She looked around the town and couldn't find the group. However, with a lot of luck she ran into a young man who saw the group earlier. He told her they were heading towards Jubilife City.
The girl took off running after them hoping to catch up before they were too far gone. "Derek, I'm coming for you and I'm going to kick your ass."
Forest (Ryan's pov)
It has been an hour since we left Oreburgh City and are now a few hours away from Jubilife. It took us long to get through the cave because of all the Pokemon that attacked us. We had to fight our way through in order to get out. Lucky for us there weren't that many to get through and we won't have to go back through there next time.
We decided to take a small break by a clearing since the fights exhausted our Pokemon. While we wait Derek took off to make a call on his phone. He couldn't get reception so he went into the forest and would be back when he finishes making his call. So while we wait for him to come back, I decided to ask Dawn something.
"Is your mom going to be there?"
Dawn shook her head. "She said she would watch me on TV and promised she'll be at my next competition."
I noticed Dawn looks nervous for some reason. "Are you okay?"
"No," Dawn gets up and lets out a small sigh. "I'm nervous Ryan. I was okay with performing in front of an audience, but when my mom said I would be on TV."
I realize why Dawn is acting nervous and I decided to help out. "You're nervous about performing on live TV?"
Dawn nods softly. "I'm worry that I will embarrass myself, especially when my mom told me the town will be watching."
I can hear Rachel giggling nearby while she makes some tea. We know what you mean Dawn. Ryan was nervous too when he performed in the Hoenn league on TV.
"Really?" asked Dawn.
I nod my head. "Yep, I was worried and almost didn't go through. However, Rachel helped out and once I got past the cameras I was able to win my first battle."
Rachel poured tea into her cup and drank from it. Forget the cameras there and turn to your Pokemon. They will need you to guide them through this.
"You're right," Dawn moves towards me and gives me a hug. "Thanks guys."
I return the hug and smiled. "No problem."
We then heard a loud scream coming nearby that sounds like a girl, then a minute later another one that sounds like Derek. What did he do this time?
I shrugged my shoulder. "Whatever it is it can't be good."
A few minutes earlier (Normal pov)
Derek finishes making his call and climbs down the tree with Umbreon waiting for him. "Good news girl. The package has arrived, but we need to wait until Dawn's competition is over."
Umbreon nods her head and then hears something nearby. Derek noticed this and looks at where his Pokemon is looking at.
"What is it girl? Is it a Pokemon?" Umbreon shakes her head. "Then what?"
He then hears what sounds like a girl's voice screaming at him. "DEREK!"
Derek recognizes the voice and his expression turns to fear. "Not her. Why couldn't it be anyone, but her!"
He takes out his Pokeball and puts Umbreon back in her Pokeball. He then takes off running while screaming.
Present (Rachel's pov)
"Shouldn't we go see if he's okay?" Dawn asked concerned.
Nah. I said knowing there is now point. Whoever is after him then he deserves whatever is coming to him.
Ryan turns towards me a little surprise. "He can be a dork sometimes Rach, but he's our friend. The least can do is see what he did before he gets beaten up."
I nod my head in agreement. Right, so let's go find him.
As we walk towards the forest, Derek comes out running into me. "Sorry Rach, um hey where's my bag?"
Ryan helped me up and pointed at his bag near our stuff. "Derek, what's going on? Who is after you this time?"
"What? No one is after me. Why would you ask me that?" Derek grabs his backpack and turns towards us. "Anyways, I got an important appointment to take care of…soooooo see ya at the city!"
Derek takes off running leaving us a little surprise. Well, not Ryan and me, but Dawn for her it was a surprise.
"What is going on?" she asked.
Ryan and I shrugged our shoulders. Whoever he pissed off must be scary.
Ryan nods in agreement. "Yeah, I wonder who it is though."
Just then we see someone coming out of the bushes. It's a young girl around Dawn's age. Her skin is dark, long purple hair, and her eyes are brown. She is wearing a large white shirt with long sleeves, with pink cuffs. Her skirt is pink matching her bow on the side of the head, white leggings, and pink shoes.
"Derek! Where are you!" the girl shouted while looking for Derek, until she turns towards us. "Okay, where is he? Where's Derek!"
"Um I'm sorry, but who are you?" Ryan asked.
The girl huffed and crossed her arms. "I don't have to tell you anything. Now where is Derek or I'll get the answer out of you the hard way."
An Axew appeared from her hair and spoke out towards me. That's right. Tell us or else we'll kick your butts.
I glared at the Pokemon and shut him up. You better watch what you say little guy or else you'll be the one getting your butt kicked.
He hides back into the girl's hair in fear from my threat. That's what I thought.
"Hey," started Dawn as she speaks out next. "We don't know who you are, but whatever Derek did you can tell us. We're not your enemy."
"Look, if you don't tell me where he is then I'll make you tell me." The girl throws out her Pokeball and out comes her Pokemon, Excadrill.
Ryan, Dawn, and I look surprised at the Pokemon standing before us. We have seen many different types of Pokemon, but never one like what we're seeing in front of us.
"So, are you going to tell me or what?"
I turn to Ryan who looks like he isn't going to back down from this fight. "You want a battle? You got it."
Ryan, do you want me to fight? He shook his head. All right, well be careful.
(Normal pov)
Dawn and Rachel sit down behind their friend who gets ready for battle. "Rachel, don't you think we should get involved?"
Rachel shook her head. No, I think Ryan wants her to let out her anger before we can find out why she hates Derek.
"Go, Blaziken!" Ryan throws out his Pokeball and out comes his Fire/Fighting-type Pokemon. "You sure you want to go through this?"
The girl nods her head. "If it gets me information I need, then yes."
"All right, ladies first."
"Excadrill, use Drill Run!" Excadrill charges at Blaziken
"Blaziken, dodge and use Blaze Kick!"
Blaziken dodges the attack and kicks Excadrill hard in the face with his attack.
"Excadrill, use Dig!" Excadrill makes digs a hole in the ground and waits to make his move.
"Where did he go?" asked Dawn who couldn't see where the Pokemon is hiding.
Rachel though can sense where he is, but couldn't help out. Ryan, be careful.
"Attack!" Excadrill appears from the ground, but Blaziken jumps over the Pokemon.
"Now, use Focus Punch!" Blaziken punches Excadrill in the back of the head sending him towards the ground.
"Excadrill!" shouted the girl as her Pokemon slowly gets up. "That's it, don't give up."
Excadrill finally makes it to his feet impressing everyone. He's a tough Pokemon. Ryan is going to have to finish this soon.
Dawn nods in agreement. "I still wonder where she got that Pokemon from. Have you guys ever seen it before?"
Rachel shook her head. No, not from any of the regions we've been to before. But it won't stop Ryan from beating her.
"Excadrill, use Focus Blast!" The Pokemon begins focusing its energy for its attack.
"Blaziken, don't move until I say so." Ryan knew he could attack now, but he wanted to wait for the right moment to attack.
Once Excadrill gathered enough energy he unleashed his attack as a sphere of energy is shot off towards his opponent.
"Blaziken, use Agility," Blaziken's speed increased allowing him to dodge the attack and appear in front of his opponent. "Now, use Sky Uppercut!"
Blaziken delivers a strong uppercut attack that sends Excadrill flying. The girl looks on shock as her Pokemon crashes to the ground in front of the girl. She checks on him and sees her Pokemon is out cold.
"Looks like I win."
(Ryan's pov)
I put Blaziken back into his Pokeball and approached the girl, who also sends her Pokemon back in his Pokeball. I extend my hand and hope she has calmed down.
"Sorry for hurting your Pokemon. We have some potions to help heal his wounds if you want to use them."
The girl shook her head and smiles for the first time in front of the group. "It's okay. I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. It was wrong of me to do that."
"Why do you hate him?" Dawn asked as she approaches us. "Did he do something bad to you?"
The girl shook her head again. "No, he didn't do anything bad. I've just been looking for him for a few months and I need to bring him back to Unova."
Unova? Rachel asked. Wait, I thought he was from Hoenn. That's where we met him.
The girl stared at Rachel surprised. "Did your Pokemon just talked?"
I shook my head and explained. "She's a Psychic-type Pokemon. She uses her powers to speak to us through telepathy. Sorry, I should have warned you about that huh?"
"Oh, well that's cool," The girl then went back to the topic at hand. "Derek is not from Hoenn, he's from Unova. That's where I'm from too."
"Wait, so who are you anyways and how do you know him?" I asked wondering how this girl knows our friend.
"My name is Iris and I'm Derek's little sister."
Team Galactic HQ (Normal pov)
Nova is in the training room with her Pokemon Bronzor training her new Pokemon, Chimchar. She was given the Pokemon as a reward for coming back with the documents. Another one of her rewards was taking time off to train her new Pokemon so he can be ready in case they run into trouble.
She didn't mind, especially since she didn't want to go out with an untrained Pokemon who has no experience. So far she has been ordering her Pokemon, Bronzor to attack Chimchar until he can hit a counter attack on her Steel-type Pokemon. So far he has gotten faster, but he hasn't been able to get a direct hit.
"Bronzor, again use Gyro Ball."
The Pokemon shoots off another attack at the Pokemon who dodged the attack, but just barely. He tried to counter with Flame Wheel, but everytime he comes close to a direct hit Bronzor would use Protect. Chimchar would bounce off the shield and get hit with Gyro Ball.
This is what made Nova upset. He hasn't learned to attack a different way. He will fail because of Protect and will get hit with Gyro Ball. She didn't want a dumb Pokemon who can't learn from his mistake. Even the thought of using an electric collar on him passed through her mind to use on him.
"Bronzor, take a break."
Her Pokemon stops his attack and rests in the corner while Nova confronts her Pokemon. He looks up in fear of his trainer and he knows she is pissed at him.
"If you're going to be part of this team, then you better learn from your mistakes or else." Nova' cold expression and tone made the Pokemon fear her, which is what she uses to control them. "Now get up and let's do this again."
Chimchar nods his head and gets into fighting position. Nova orders Bronzor to attack again as it shoots off another Gyro Ball. Chimchar dodges then uses Flame Wheel, but instead of going towards the Pokemon who uses Protect to stop the attack. Chimchar goes towards the wall.
He then bounces off the wall and finally gets a direct hit. Chimchar hits the side of Bronzor since Protect only shields a Pokemon from the front, never the sides or back. His attack however didn't knock out the Steel-type Pokemon who just hits the fire Pokemon with a Gyro Ball.
Chimchar gets knocked out, but despite losing Nova was still impressed. "Good work. You may just have a future here."
She has Bronzor take Chimchar to the next room to get healed. Rest up, because once you're healed. She takes out a tablet and presses several buttons summoning three small drones. The real training will begin.
Nova is so cruel towards her Pokemon huh? Well, that's Nova for ya. I also hope everyone likes me bringing in Iris into the story. For those who don't know why Iris is in this story well you'll find out next time and why she's Derek's sister.
That reminds me. I won't be able to update for the next few weeks since I need to finish up some tests and essays for school. I promise though by December 23 there will be a new chapter. So I hope everyone can wait a few weeks before the next chapter is up. Sorry to do this, but I'm sure you guys will understand.
Also thanks to my friend for his help again on the story and to those for your support on this. I appreciate it guys and please leave some reviews to let me know what you thought of the chapter. Nothing negative please or any flame reviews. All right, see you all next time, take care, and I know it's a few days away but Happy Thanksgiving.
