It has been awhile since I've worked on this Fanfic and I'm sorry for the long wait. There's been a lot of drama in my life, including losing my grandma last year. Anyway here is the new chapter; I hope that you enjoy it.
And what I wanted to do was mainly focus on Siobhan and Superboy, and wanted to show you that even though they had their memories wiped clean of the last six months, that in their heart and mind they still remember each other. And yes I know, it's a bit cheesy…but I truly think this is what would happen if Siobhan was in the cartoon. I also know that I put in a moment between the two practically every chapter, but I just love the whole love at first sight thing and I wanted to incorporate it into my story.
Seriously…tell me what you think. Do I need to dial back on the romance? Do I incorporate enough of the game into the story? Please tell me!

Ch. 8 Bereft
Bialya. September 4. 00:16 EEST.
On a sand dune in the middle of the desert a blue skinned elf, named Siobhan, appeared out of nowhere and appeared to be unconscious. Siobhan winced at the bright sunlight shinning in her eyes. She groaned as she slowly sat up off the ground as she clutched her head in pain. "What happened? Where am I? And why does my head hurt?" her head felt like someone had zapped lighting at it before it receiving a blow from a war hammer. Siobhan shifted her body slightly and noticed that the ground felt strange. She looked down and saw that she was on sand. After a few moments of looking around her, and letting the sand run through her fingers as she felt the texture of it between her fingers. It was very hot sand. "A desert? Certainly not Alserund, it's too open and I see no mountains…or monsters. Thank goodness." Then she remembered that she wasn't in Amalur. For the past year she's been living in the mundane world.
"I don't understand." She muttered as she stood up, "How did I end up here? And–" looking down she noticed what she was wearing. "Why am I dressed like this?" she whispered pulling on the fabric of her shirt. "This is not wisest choice to wear in a desert." Siobhan morphed her clothes; still the same look, but now matches the color of the sand to blend in and is a bit baggier. Then she reached into her bag and grabbed a pair of goggles to keep the sun and sand out of them. "Much better. Now what's my next step?" she mumbled to herself as she looked around, trying to figure out which way to go. "I wonder if this is another 'test' that J'onn is making me do right now." The young elf let out an annoyed groan, "If it is then I should hurry this up, I promised M'gann that I would take her to the movies." The blue skinned elf closed her eyes, to use her hearing and her ability to sense any other living creature are near her in a 20 mile radius. Her eyes flew open when she sensed someone nearby. From what she could sense, it was a human and not a random desert animal. She turned in the direction of where it was coming from; it was strange she didn't recognize this being…but somehow, for some reason, it was familiar.
"Who is this?" Siobhan wondered out loud. "No use of just standing around and doing nothing." She pulled the hood and mask up and started to swiftly walk towards where she was picking this being up, silently hoping that this person was friendly.
Somewhere else in the desert…
Morph started to 'wake up' as his eye started to blink back on and he floated up. "Where is everyone?" he wondered as he looked in all directions as memories from the night before slowly came back. "That's right, there was that strange noise and then I passed out." As he continued to look around he was starting panic, wondering where everyone went and wondering if they were ok. Using his scanner he started to use it in the area to make sure that no one was buried underneath the sand.
His search came up with something off in the distance. He recognized the person immediately, "Robin!" he flew at light speed and found the unconscious boy on the ground. He scanned him to check his vitals, "Oh good he's alive, a little dehydrated, but other than that he's fine." The little orb then started to nudge the passed out boy to wake him up, which made him groan in response. He then started to mumble something that Morph couldn't make out, before he passed out again.
"(Sigh)…and he's out again." Suddenly hearing a noise, Morph flew behind a boulder to hide himself from whatever was coming. Four Bialyan jeeps, filled with soldiers and guns and rifles, passed by. Morph harshly glared at them, for some odd reason he hated soldiers and he knew that they weren't on their side. He knew that if he left Robin there he was going to get hurt, or worse. Especially when he could see the sweat on the boy's face.
Being silent as the night, Morph carefully and slowly floated over back to Robin and morphed into a belt and wrapped himself around the boy's upper body and started to drag him out of the open and behind the boulder and into the shade. After he was done with that Morph stared at the endless desert, wondering if Siobhan was ok along with everyone else.
"It might be a good idea to check the area." The robotic creature glanced at Robin, "He'll be fine. It's not like he's going anywhere anytime soon." Morph then zoomed off to make sure the coast was truly clear, and nearly an hour later he flashed back to where Robin was…only to find the spot was empty.
"Uh-oh." Then he noticed the tracks. He went to go follow them, until his sensors beeped looked in the opposite direction. Even from far away he was able to scan this person and to his surprise it was Aqualad. Fear started to settle in him as he remembered how bad the Atlantean is in hot weather. "Oh no." he looked behind him where Robin wondered off to, but he knew that the Boy Wonder would be fine – he's resourceful. Finally making his choice, Morph zoomed off and as fast as he could to the fallen Atlantean.
A black gloved hand grabbed a rock as its owner walked forward. Robin groaned with his head bowed with exhaustion and pain. Then a sound caught his attention. Looking to his right he saw a dust cloud coming closer. The military vehicle drove past the rock formation, never aware of the teenage superhero just out of sight.
"Those were Bialyan Republican Army uniforms." Robin said to himself, pulling up a holoscreen. "But what are Bialyans doing in…Bialya?!" he gasped seeing the GPS. "Okay – better question – what am I doing in Bialya?" then his eye caught the clock at the bottom of the screen. "In September?! What happened to March? Better radio Batman." He said bringing a finger up to the communicator in his ear.
Then a memory flashed through his head. It was Batman standing before a larger holoscreen showing the exact GPS location that appeared on Robins. 'Maintain radio silence at all times.' Batman ordered.
"Or not." Robin said taking his finger away from his ear and back down to the desert floor. He then noticed a spot of black and red on another rock. Walking over he picked it up to see a red Superman symbol on black fabric that looked like it was torn off of something.
Back with Siobhan
Siobhan wiped her sweat drenched forehead with the back of her sleeve. The aura she was following had grown much stronger now, seeing that she slowed down a bit but she didn't stop. The heat was slowly starting to get to her, but this was nothing compared to the heat back in the Alserund desert in Amalur; yes she still thought the heat was bad, but Alserund was worse…much worse.
"Where are you?" she whispered, not dropping her guard even a little. Suddenly the aura Siobhan was tracking…it was quickly approaching her. She stopped and looked around and saw no one. Taking a deep breath she focused again on the aura and listening to the wind and the earth.
"Look above you, young Fateless One." A voice of a spirit whispered to her. She shot her eyes opened and immediately looked up and saw something falling towards her. She gasped at the sight of this. "Ah!" she yelped as she jumped off to the side before the person landed right where she was standing with a massive force.
As the sand and dust cleared Siobhan saw a shirtless boy, around her age, emerge from the crater that he had created just a few moments ago. He was glaring at her with an animalistic glint in his eyes. "Strange…" she started to think as she continued to stare at him, "…I don't know this boy, but I feel like I should know him." She then noticed who he looked like. "He resembles Superman, but I know that's not him." The young Amaluran has actually met the Man of Steel, and this boy didn't share the same aura as the man did.
Taking a deep breath, she began to try and talk to him. "Hello." She spoke to the boy, as carefully as possible, knowing this boy had a great amount of strength to make a crater of that magnitude. She cautiously began moving her hands, she momentarily stopped when she noticed the boy narrow his eyes at her thinking that she was going to do something, but she then brought her hands to her face and slowly removes her mask, hood, and goggles. His eyes widened at the sight of her, in his mind…she was beautiful. Her long beautiful jet black hair, her golden eyes that seemed to glow, and her blue skin and the facial tattoo that added to her beauty, and her full rosy pink lips. "My name is Siobhan." She placed her hands on her chest gesturing to herself. "Who are you?" she gestured to him, but he didn't answer. "Are you related to Superman?"
Superboy growled before he lunged at her, ready to attack her again. Siobhan easily and swiftly dodged the attack, learning right then and there that he may be strong…but what he had in strength he lacked speed, and he wasn't that bright. "I don't want to hurt you!" she yelled at him. He didn't say a word to her; he only growled and let out a roar before he charged at her once again. Siobhan quickly sidestepped his oncoming fist, and she kept managing to dodge all his strikes. As the fight continued she could feel the exhaustion slowly take over her. "I have to end this quickly!"
Now that she was closer to him Siobhan managed to get a good look into his eyes. What she saw greatly bothered her.
In his eyes, Siobhan couldn't find any emotions; any anger or hatred. She only saw confusion, and something else…she then immediately realized what he was doing. "He's protecting himself." When he tried to hit her again she jumped far from him. Superboy then at her again and she jumped to the right and dodged his punch. "Alright…" she did a backflip to avoid another hit from the boy, "…let's try this." As he came charging at her, last minute she created a barrier that completely surrounded her in a circular dome. The boy kept attacking the dome, trying to get it to break, but nothing his efforts did nothing as Siobhan stared at him. Once he was done and gave up, but he didn't move away from where he stood, he was like a statue. Seeing this, Siobhan closed her eyes and used her aura, which happened to be the barrier, to completely envelop the boy's body. He couldn't explain his, but for some reason he felt…safe as the girl took a few steps closer to him until she was right in front of him.
"Can you understand me?" she asked with kindness in her voice. After a few moments, the mysterious boy only slowly nodded his head. "Do you know what this is?" she gestured to the blue glowing light surrounding his body. Siobhan then started to explain what it was, "It's my aura, my energy. It's letting you know my intentions…I'm not trying to hurt you." She noticed that he started to relax, which made her tense muscles to loosen up before her aura went back into her body. Not making any movements Siobhan waited to see what would happen next, and to her surprise the boy continued to stand frozen where he was as his blue orbs never left her. The young Ljosalfar then slowly raise her right arm and hold up her hand, showing him her open palm. His eyebrows knitted together with confusion in his eyes, seeing his confusion Siobhan told him with a small smile, "I truly meant what I said. I don't want to fight you, this gesture is a sign of trust of my kind. I want you to trust me. Will you?"
At first he made no movement, making her worry and a bit sad. Thinking that he wasn't going to do the sign of trust, Siobhan fingers started to draw back, making a loose closed hand, before her arm began to make its way back to her side. Seeing her withdraw her hand Superboy reacted as he reached out and carefully grabbed her wrist. Siobhan's eyes widened at the action as she looked at Superboy before her eyes moved to their hands; without letting go, he moved his hand below the girl's hand so that as he pulled her hand back up it would be lying on top of his. Superboy then flipped his hand around before his fingers traveled upward, slowly dragging them across Siobhan's hand without losing physical contact, to where his palm was pressed against hers before he spread his fingers out along with hers. (Think what Tarzan did when he and Jane were saying goodbye.)
Because the young elf was so engrossed with their hands, seeing how big his hand was compared to her own, she didn't see that he had taken a step closer to her. She was a bit surprised when he grabbed her chin between his forefinger and thumb and lightly pulled her chin up so that she was looking at him. When she did, she was taken aback from the look in his eyes; no anger, no want to hurt her, it was pure curiosity in his blue eyes.
"…Siobhan?" He said her name. "So he can speak." She thought, noticing that he was so close that their chests were barely touching however she chose to ignore their closeness, with a smile on her face. "Yes, yes Siobhan. And you are?"
"Superboy." He said releasing her chin as he used the same hand to wrap around his arm her waist with his hand on the small of her back and to pull her closer to him, to where her front was pressed right against his; the action caught her off guard. He then removed his palm from hers and placed it on the back of her head before he lowered his lips to her ear. "Mine." He whispered to her.
Siobhan's face turned bright red at what he said to her as she let out a shaky breath, and for some strange reason instead of wanting to deck him…hearing him say that – to her – she felt her heart skip a beat as she felt a warm fuzzy feeling in her chest and stomach. "What is this?" she wondered when the beating of her heart got faster, and louder, as he continued to hold her in his arms.
"Yours." Siobhan whispered back at him without thinking as her own arms wrapped around him and placed her head against his chest where his heart was. The corners of his mouth had curved into a smirk as he continued to hold her.
"Why does she/he make me feel like this?" the two thought as they heard the others fast and loud heartbeats.
Abruptly a noise caught both of their sensitive ears. Something, or someone by the look of things, was coming right at them. Very fast.
Superboy growled in irritation as he went back into his predatory mode. Except this time, as he held Siobhan slightly tighter, it was more territorial and the want – the need – to protect what was his. "Oh no." Siobhan whispered as he ran off, leaving her behind, and leapt. He landed right in front of the intruder.
"Whoa!" said the speedster as he put down the blonde girl in his arms, who is wearing a green arrow like outfit and with a bow and arrow, down.
"Wait I know him." Siobhan said to herself as she looked down from the cliff, recognizing the boy. "Kid Flash?" he was wearing black instead of his usual yellow and red, but he resembled the young fast protégé of the Flash that she saw on TV. She then pulled her mask, hood, and goggles back on before she gracefully leapt down and when she got close to the ground she tucked her body and using the momentum to roll on the sandy earth to safely roll then smoothly and fluidly untucked her body and went back onto her feet. Once she was up she saw that she had landed right in front of the blonde girl, who had an arrow aimed right at her.
"Who are you?" the archer demanded.
Siobhan calmly answered holding her hand up, "Relax. I'm not here to hurt you."
"Tell that to this guy!" Kid Flash yelled dodging Superboy's punches. Ultimately the black cladded speedster ended up getting back handed by the Boy of Steel and was sent flying into the side of the cliff where the Amaluran jumped from. Superboy turned towards Artemis, his sights now set on her and who now had her arrow pointed at him, and he charged at her. The young archer fired her arrow, hitting him in his chest and exploded. The explosion didn't stop him…it just made him angrier.
Seeing him about to charge again Siobhan pulled her mask down and jumped right in between the two. "NO!" she yelled at him. He immediately stopped in his tracks with his arm pulled back ready to punch something, or someone. She then pulled down her hood and pulled the goggles onto her head, revealing what she was to Kid Flash and Artemis.
"No way." Artemis eyes were wide as saucers seeing the blue skinned elf in front of her.
"An Amaluran…here?!" Kid Flash exclaimed in shock.
Siobhan ignored them and took a step closer to Superboy as her golden orbs never left his blue ones. "Don't hurt them." She said to the boy in front of her, "They're not a threat. They're safe." She spoke with serenity and kindness in her voice to try and calm the boy down as she gently placed her hand on his arm, "Safe." She whispered to him. The boy slowly lowered his fist as he stared right into her eyes, which helped calm down. Just as slowly, he placed the palm of his hand on her cheek and slowly traced the tattoo on her cheek with his thumb. His anger was replaced with an emotion that Siobhan couldn't place, but it made her heartbeat skip a beat.
Then, out of nowhere, a bomb landed next to the young heroes. The force of the blow sent them flying back and away from each other. Superboy was the first to recover and looked towards Siobhan. His eyes grew to the size of dinner plates when he saw that she was completely motionless. He ran to her and carefully turned her onto her back and used his super hearing to hear her heartbeat, which he heard. Now filled with rage, Superboy looked where the attack came from.
Tanks filled with Bialyan soldiers were approaching them.
"Protect!" was the only thing on Superboy's mind as he super jumped at the tanks and began his assault on them. Using his strength he tore the gun right off the tank, which forced the soldier to come out of his armed, and now ruined, vehicle. The others began shooting at the Boy of Steel, only for them to bounce off his body. Superboy grabbed the soldier from the tank by his vest and threw him in the opposite direction of where the three teenagers were.
Siobhan blinked several times to get rid of the blurry vision as she pushed herself off the ground, hissing in pain as she did. "Great, I have another headache." She muttered. Off to the side Artemis started to do the same and soon both girls were on their feet.
"So whose side is your boyfriend on?" the blonde asked dusting herself off, remembering how said boy destroyed the tank. "He's not my boyfriend." Artemis looked at her with confusion written on her face for she didn't understand a word that Siobhan said.
"(Sigh) He's not my boyfriend." She repeated in English.
"Sure he's not." The archer teased. Siobhan narrowed her eyes and gave the blonde girl an annoyed glare, but before she could say anything Kid Flash appeared next to Artemis. "Let's not stick around." He said a little terrified, thinking of the super strong boy. Now that he is closer to Siobhan, "You really are an Amaluran. One of the elves!"
Siobhan arched a brow at him, "Ljosalfar. And was it the ears or blue skin that gave me away?" she said with her hands on her hips.
"Pft both, but let's finish this conversation somewhere else." Kid Flash quickly said while grabbing both girls under each arm and used his super speed to get them out of there. After putting a few miles between the three and the tanks, KF tripped on a rock hidden in the sand and dropped both girls. They all rolled on the ground after a couple of moments before they came to a stop. Once Siobhan was on her feet again she looked in the direction where they left Superboy with the feeling of pain and sadness in her gut for leaving him behind, but that quickly turned into anger as she turned around to face the speedster.
"How dare you!" Siobhan hissed at the red head.
Kid Flash rubbed the back of his head where most of the pain was from his fall, "Hey I didn't see the rock ok." He looked a bit nervous as Siobhan gave him a stern glare. "Not that." she growled, "How dare you leave 'him' back there? Alone!" she snapped.
Artemis looked at her as if she grew another head, "He probably would've attacked us again when he was done with those tanks." Siobhan's hands balled up into fists at what the blonde archer just said about him.
"SILENCE!" Artemis and KF jumped at Siobhan's angry shout along with making the sand on both sides of them shoot up into the air when she yelled. They watched her close her eyes and was now breathing hard, as she began to calm down, "He wouldn't have." They just stared at her, not saying a word, wanting her to continue and explain to them. "He was confused and afraid. He wouldn't have hurt us." She defended him.
"He wouldn't have hurt you." Artemis said to Siobhan, putting emphasis on you. The young Amaluran opened her eyes and looked at the two in front of her.
"Yeah…it seemed that he wanted to protect you at least." Kid Flash said referring to how she managed to calm him down and talked to him. Siobhan slightly blushed.
All of a sudden two killer drones came into view in the sky and began to shoot at them. "Get behind me!" Siobhan ordered. They hesitated for a moment, but they did what she told them with. When they did, Siobhan formed a magical barrier, like the one she made earlier, that protected them from the bullets.
"Well this is handy." Artemis said about the barrier.
"This is so cool!" KF commented. "Artemis!" said girl looked at the elf with curious eyes, "Take aim and fire when you can."
"But–"
Siobhan cut her off, "Things can get out, but not in." she enlightened the archer with what the barrier can do. "Oh ok understood!" Artemis grabbed an arrow and pulled the string back as she carefully aimed at one of the drones. When they stopped firing Artemis was on the verge of releasing the arrow, *I'm on my way!* a voice was heard in her head; making her miss her target as soon as she released the mini projectile.
"Did anyone else hear a girl talking in their head?" Artemis asked the two in the barrier, trying not to panic. Siobhan nodded her head and wondered why the girl's voice sounds a little familiar.
"Girls are always on my mind, but they're not usually talking." Kid Flash commented. "Ugh, boys." She commented in her native language, rolling her eyes at the red head.
"What does that mean?" He asked.
Siobhan gave him a sly smirk before replying, "If you wish to know then you should learn the language."
"That's not fair!" KF exclaimed, making the two girls chuckle at him.
Miss Martian flew to her teammates as fast as she could. After awakening in the desert and meditating, the young Martian had regained her memories of the last six months; her friends, and especially her new relationship with Huor.
She had searched the desert for any signs of life and soon she sensed Superboy in danger with the tanks and headed in that direction. Seeing the drones in sight Miss Martian used her telekinesis to smash the drones together, destroying the bots. The Martian then floated down and landed in front of Kid Flash, Artemis, and Siobhan. Each one giving her a questioning look.
"Well J'onn," KF said uncertainly, "the costume is…familiar, but I'm not sure the bod doesn't scream 'Manhunter."
"You know my Uncle J'onn?" Miss Martian asked excitedly before more of her memories flowed through her mind. "Hello Megan! Of course you do. You're Kid Flash, Wally, and you're Artemis." She gestured to the archer.
"M'gann?"
Miss Martian's looked over at Siobhan and she quickly hugged her best friend. "Siobhan! You're here, thank goodness." Siobhan hugged the girl back. Siobhan may have forgotten the time she and the young Martian spent together when they joined the team, but thankfully they met a few weeks before meeting their teammates.
"What are you doing here?" Siobhan curiously asked as she and Miss Martian released each other from their hug.
"I'll explain in a moment."
"Your name is Wally?" Artemis asked the speedster, which quickly gained the two non-human girls to the conversation. He groaned that the blonde archer had learned his real name.
"It's ok…" Miss Martian reassured them "…we're all teammates. And friends."
"You know her?" Artemis asked Kid Flash and Siobhan.
The speedster rapidly shook his head, "No I swear Beautiful. I've never seen her before in my life."
Siobhan gave him a deadpan look crossing her arms, unimpressed and disappointed by his quickness to impress a girl. "He's one…interesting…mundane." Before Kid Flash could say anything else Siobhan placed her hand over his mouth, quickly getting him to shut up. "Same way that I know you two." She shrugged. "Like I should, but somehow I can't."
Miss Martian sighed, "None of you have your memories either." Then gun shots in the distance made the young heroes look back. "I'll explain everything. Right now Robin, Superboy, and Morph need our help."
"Of course." Kid Flash replied, after Siobhan removed her hand, like he was wondering why he even bothered asking. "Robin, Super-what-now, and who?"
"Morph is here?!" Siobhan exclaimed.
"Wait she's being serious?" Kid Flash asked. Siobhan, not paying attention to him, pulled out two of her favorite weapons; a prismere frosted wand and a pair of weapons that used to belong to her mother…the Mantis Legs Faeblades.
Not too far from them
At the smoke cloud, the Bialyan soldiers had managed to ie several ropes to each of Superboy's wrists, four on each side with two people holding each rope, attempting to restrain the berserker. Screaming in rage, Superboy jerked one of his arms, pulling all the soldiers on that side off their feet. Standing a bit ways back, a pale man with a hooded jacket pulled up over a collared shirt stood behind a Bialyan commander. "Control his mind!" the commander ordered the villain.
"Doesn't seem to be much mind in there to control." Psimon said taking a step forward and raising a hand. "But…be still." He ordered, and the face of the teen slackened, and he fell forward – now unconscious. The soldiers dragged the shirtless teen back to the ruck, escorted by a jeep and a tank. As they loaded up the pale man smirked, then he followed the soldiers into the vehicle and they drove off, never aware of the unconscious Atlantean lying behind a rock only a few yards away alongside a little robot that had recorded the whole thing.
It was night and the stars shone brilliantly over head as Robin ran though the desert. "Wish I could remember why I put a GPS marker here." He said to himself as he ran, keeping the holoscreen with the location up on his wrist computer. Reaching the top of a dune he looked down to see a large machine just standing in the middle of the desert. Robin immediately dropped to the ground, instantly wary for a trap. "Huh…guessing that's why." He cautiously poked his head above the cover of the dune he looked around for signs of an ambush. When he saw nothing he leapt down, only for Bialyan soldiers to rise up from under the sand.
"Her majesty wants him alive!" one of the soldiers shouted in Bialyan to his comrades. Robin grinned and dropped a smoke grenade as the soldiers rushed at him. Coughing and blind, the Bialyan soldiers were no match for the Boy Wonder. One was hit with a swift flying kick. Two more were brought down by bolas wrapping around their bodies, and still one more was hit with a knee to the chin. Throwing out a barrage of birdarangs to knock the guns out of his enemies' hands. One ducked the razor sharp disk only to get the teen ninja leaping forward and doing a handstand on his shoulders, twisting his body so that the man fell into one of his allies and Robin nailed another with a double flying kick. Landing in a crouch Robin narrowed his eyes as the soldiers started picking themselves up and grabbing their rifles.
"Enough!" one yelled. "Open fire!"
Robin back flipped, avoiding the bullets as a black blur raced through the soldiers' ranks, pulling the guns from their hands. "I'll hold that. Thanks." Kid Flash said grinning as he dropped the rifles in a pile before he charged at the Bialyans. He charged forward at super speed, giving the soldiers that had been surrounding Robin something else to focus on. Behind the Boy Wonder, just as they started to fire two more soldiers were thrown backwards by a mysterious force. Looking up Robin saw the vague outline that then came into focus as a green skinned girl wearing a Martian Manhunter uniform. Siobhan then used her wand to shoot out two shots of frozen mana at two other soldiers, completely freezing their weapons, seeing that she started to run at them equipping the Faeblades. Once she was close enough she performed a graceful 360° spin which the blades of her weapon to cut right through the frozen guns like butter, and when the soldiers stared at their cut of weapons they looked at the Amaluran with wide eyes she gave them lopsided grin before she charged right at them again, using the blunt center of the Faeblades, to sucker punch one of the soldiers before punching the other guy in the stomach of couple of times before she did a strong uppercut which sent the man into the air and painfully landing on his back, knocking him out. Siobhan stared at the unconscious soldiers as they twitched in pain before charged at the other soldiers. One decided to try and run, but an arrow burst apart into another bola, that tied him up from the waist down. Looking up, the others saw Artemis holding her bow on top of the sand dune. The green cladded archer didn't notice that a soldier had snuck up behind her, but lucky for her Siobhan did as she shot a lightning bolt at the man. Artemis watched as the man fell over before she looked back at the Ljosalfar and nodded her head in thanks at her, who returned the nod back.
"KF! Man it's good to see a familiar face." Robin grinned walking over and clasping his hands in turn.
"Hey Rob. Memory loss?" Kid Flash asked.
"Six months!" Robin exclaimed.
"We lost that much of our memories?" Siobhan placed her hand on her head, completely stunned that she and the rest lost that much of their memories.
"Let's hogtie these creeps and compare notes."
"So we're a team?" Robin asked as they talked.
"The five of us, and Superboy." Miss Martian told him.
"This must be Superboy's." Robin realized as he pulled out a torn piece of a shirt with a red Superman logo on it.
"Yes!" Miss Martian said, "Did you see him?"
"We did." Said Artemis, gesturing to herself, Kid Flash, and Siobhan.
"Feral boy." Kid Flash let out an unamused laugh, "Some teammate he was. He attacked us."
"That may be true, but it wasn't his fault!" Siobhan strongly said, defending the clone. "His whole body language, even his aura, just screamed self-preservation."
"Well he didn't attack you; it was like you were his 'precious'. Not that I blame him though, 'cause c'mon look at you." Kid Flash suggestively said at the end, making the young elf give him a deadpan look as everyone else rolled their eyes at him.
Robin then quickly changed the topic, "I remember Batman ordering radio silence." He recalled. "Our team must work for him."
"And how do you know we don't work for my mentor?" Kid Flash asked, poking himself in the chest. To everyone's surprise his black and gray outfit returned to its normal yellow and red coloring. "Whoa, this is so cool!" he grinned as he repeatedly pressed the symbol on his chest to change his costume colors back and forth. "That's why." Siobhan said grabbing his hand, getting the speedster to stop touching his chest. "Your mentor isn't exactly known for being a ninja. We need to find out what is going on. We need our memories back." She looked over at Miss Martian, letting go of Kid Flash's hand. "Can you do that?" she asked.
Miss Martian looked nervous at first, but it was quickly replaced by determination. An instant later the four of them, minus the Martian, were standing in a black void, illuminated by what looked like glowing purple fragments of crystals. Each fragment showed a different image that made no sense. Siobhan was hit with déjà vu as she looked around the strange room. "I've brought you into my mind to share what I've remembered so far." When Miss Martian appeared she had her hands clasped together in front of her and she had her hood up, letting them know that she was nervous. "Together our broken memories can form a whole, if you allow me –"
"Into our minds." Siobhan said with a thoughtful expression as everyone turned their eyes onto her. "Yes I remember being here with you once." Miss Martian had a hopeful look on her face, "When we did the memory exchange." The young elf slowly said as the memory came back to her. "We did the memory exchange when we joined the team." Miss Martian brightly smiled, knowing that Siobhan remembered that day.
"Wait, so you want to paw through our private thoughts?" Artemis said, ruining the moment, as she took a step back.
"I have no wish to intrude, but…"
"It's the only way for us to know what happened," Siobhan calmly explained, "she'll only take what we need." Miss Martian nodded her head letting the others know that their second-in-command was right.
"Go for it." Robin said understandingly.
"My brain's all yours." Kid Flash said in an attempt to be suave. "Try not to let its brilliance overwhelm you."
"Or underwhelm you." Robin scoffed. "Hey, why isn't anyone just whelmed?" Siobhan couldn't help it as she chuckled at what the Boy Wonder said, "Is that even a word?"
Artemis still wasn't convinced that this was a good idea. Kid Flash saw her distress and held her hand in comfort. Somehow, for some reason, that gave her the courage to let the Martian go through her mind, "Just the last six months."
Miss Martian nodded her head and began to go through everyone's minds. Many images went through the group of teenagers minds:
Flashbacks
It started off with M'gann holding a tray of cookies to a male Dakkalfar, wearing casual clothing and with his hair up in a man bun, as he reached for one. "Careful Huor, they're hot." She warned him as he picked one off the tray. An instant later a yellow and red blur appeared and snatched the cookie out of the silver eyed Dakkalfar's hand. It was Wally in his Kid Flash uniform.
"Not as hot as you." The speedster said to the Martian girl, sticking the cookie in his mouth. Huor gave the red head a displeased look, not happy with him flirting with his girlfriend, before grabbing another cookie, "Thanks Wally. That's…uh…really sweet." She replied as Huor grabbed another cookie.
"Not as sweet as you sugar." Wally shot back, with a mouthful of cookie. Huor rolled his eyes and shook his head as he took a bit out of his cookie as Superboy stood next to him as he reached out and took a cookie.
"Oh grow up!" Artemis, in her green suit, said slapping Wally on the back of his head and grabbing a cookie. While Robin wearing his sidekick uniform stood behind Artemis.
"Oh right Robin," Huor said getting the younger boys attention, "how is Izzy?" Finduilas, better known as Izzy, has been teaching the Boy Wonder Siobhan's, Huor's Linwë's, and hers native language.
"She…is doing…bad." The boy is a fast learner, but he's still a beginner and has the tendency to mix up his words. Huor was pretty impressed, along with their teammates, but he found what he just said a little funny but luckily he managed to hold back the chuckles that wanted to escape from his lips.
"Robin bad means bad." M'gann kindly informed him since she's practically mastered Amaluran. Robin mentally facepalmed for his mistake, seeing this Huor placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, "You're doing a good job, don't be hard on yourself. Besides bad and good sound pretty similar, so it's easy for beginners to get the two mixed up."
"Yeah dude," Wally butted into the conversation, "plus his and Siobabes language," he gestured to the only Amaluran currently in the room, "is really hard." He complained, which made Huor cross his arms.
"It wouldn't be so hard to learn if you would actually pay attention." Artemis leered at him. Everyone knew that the speedster would go off into his own little world with thoughts of Siobhan and M'gann.
Before he could make a comeback about how the blonde makes goo-goo eyes at Huor and Superboy, "Team, report to the mission room." Batman's voice said over the intercom.
As their memories came together the team saw Batman standing beside a holoscreen of the Bialyan coast. Several points had been highlighted in red, but the one was pulsating, indicating their target. "The Watchtower detected an immense power surge in the Bialyan desert. Spectral analysis revealed elements non-terrestrial in origin. Find out what happened at the site, what landed there. Bialya is a rogue state ruled by Queen Bee, and not a member of the League's UN charter. All communications are subject to interception." The Dark Knight said, shutting down the map and pulling up the image of a beautiful dark skinned woman. "Maintain radio silence at all times." Their vision shifted to show the desert through scouting binoculars. "You'll land in Kourak, on Bialya's border, two clicks from the hot zone." The perspective changed as the person holding the binoculars lowered them and looked to their right. There the rest of the team was standing just outside an orange and black vessel, with Superboy walking down the ramp with a large piece of machinery on his back.
"All clear." Robin's voice sounded.
"The Bialyan's control site." Artemis's voice echoed through their minds.
"Let's set up here." Siobhan's voice said, as Superboy set down his load and twisted a dial on the side, causing control panels to slide out.
"We'll be up and ready in no time." Robin reported as he typed away at a computer on the side of the armory Superboy had been carrying. In it were exploding disks, backpacks full of who knows what, and many other Batman issued gadgets. Superboy stood off to one side, while Kid Flash stood behind Robin and Morph, watching him use the little bot to use his scanners to scan the area.
"Jackpot!" the speedster cheered. "The site's lousy with Zeta Beam radiation."
"Detecting non-terrestrial trace elements from the tent." Robin reported, looking back over his shoulder. "Whatever it is, they really don't want anyone else to get their hands on it." Morph stated.
"I'll check it out in camouflage mode." Miss Martian offered taking a step forward.
"Maintain the connection at all time." Aqualad ordered.
"Be careful." Siobhan told her with worry in her tone. "Of course if you do get injured, your boyfriend will be more than happy to mend your wounds." Siobhan teased Miss Martian.
"Shut up." Miss Martian's green face turned a cute shade of pink as she playfully elbowed Siobhan, who just snickered at the young female Martian. "Don't worry, I will." The young Martian said to calm the Ljosalfar's nerves.
"And remember to check in every ten minutes." Aqualad reminded her, making both girls serious again.
"Understood Aqualad."
End of Flashbacks
"Aqualad! Morph!" they all gasped, coming out of the mindscape.
"Where are they?" Robin asked. "What happened next?"
"I don't know." Miss Martian exclaimed. "That's the last thing I-we remember."
Artemis and Kid Flash both realized how close they were and that they were still holding hands, which they let, go of immediately. "We landed 24 hours ago. If Kaldur's been wondering the desert for that long…well…that's not good for a guy with gills." Kid Flash said, sounding worried for his aquatic friend.
"Hopefully Morph is with him." Siobhan said trying her best not to panic about the little bot that has the curiosity and mindset of a kid.
"Siobhan can you track Aqualad's aura?" Miss Martian asked. Siobhan shook her head before explaining, "It takes a lot of concentration along with mana to track one's aura, and I'm dangerously low on mana from when I used my wand…and I only have one minor mana potion. Robin," she quickly gained his attention now in leader mode, "can you track them down?"
The young boy nodded his head. "Now that I know to look for them–" Robin said pulling up a holoscreen. "They're close, and they are together! But Aqualad's not moving."
"Good job. Now let's move!" Siobhan ordered, as Kid Flash and Artemis let go of each other's hands.
Inside the Bialyan command tent, scientists were running experiments on Superboy as well as a large metal sphere. Electrical currents coursed through both subjects, causing the sphere to rotate and the teen to grunt in pain. "Raise to shock level four." One scientist directed another. The second one quickly increased the voltage running through the teen, making him scream in pain. As if in response, the sphere began to spin, but stopped once they had stopped shocking the boy.
The pale man who had captured Superboy walked up to the sphere and smiled darkly. "Fascinating."
The five teens found Aqualad lying unconscious muttering Atlantean, with Morph hovering over him. "I can't restore his memories in this condition." Miss Martian told the rest of her team.
"He needs immediate rehydration. Call the Bio-ship." Robin told her.
"I can't, it's out of range." Miss Martian told him. "But you can get him there fast." She said turning to Kid Flash.
"If I had a little bit more food maybe, but he's too heavy. I might be able to carry one of you," he said nodding at her, Artemis, Siobhan, and Robin. "But anything else is gonna be too much."
"Why not levitate him back?" Artemis asked.
"I can't." Miss Martian replied. "I have to find Superboy. Six months ago he didn't exist. He has no other memories, just animal impulses. I'm the only one who can help him."
"Superboy's indestructible, just ask those tanks." Kid Flash reminded her. "It's Aqualad who needs your help, like, now!"
Finally having enough of this argument Siobhan snapped, "Quiet!" Everyone stopped talking at the stern tone of her voice. Now in leader mode the young elf began to say, "Morph hoverboard now." she told Morph to turn into his futuristic hoverboard form. "Kid Flash and Robin; help me put Aqualad on Morph." They dashed over to the down Atlantean and Kid Flash grabbed his wrists as Siobhan grabbed his ankles while Robin pulled on his torso. The three then carefully placed the Atlantean onto Morph, who had no issue with his weight. "Robin, Kid Flash, and Artemis you three will go with Morph to the Bio-ship to protect him and Aqualad." Hearing her authoritative tone, they – except Morph – just nodded their heads at her order. "Miss Martian when you can sense Superboy you are going to take me with you, no questions asked." The young Martian nodded her head and said 'ok' before the elf turned towards Morph. "And Morph, the moment that Aqualad is on the Bio-ship safe and sound, track mine and Miss Martian's location and get to us as fast as you can."
"Got it!" Morph quickly responded.
Just then a psychic wave of pain struck the young Martian girl, making her clutch her head. Instantly she was assaulted by an image of Superboy strapped to a table screaming a s electricity arched over his body. "Siobhan!" Miss Martian floated into the air grabbing Siobhan's wrist. "You have your orders. Be careful and stay safe!" That was the last thing Siobhan told them before Miss Martian took off with her.
"Do you have a plan?" Miss Martian asked the second-in-command, holding onto the young Amalurans wrist as they flew to where Superboy was being held.
"You'll drop me off once we're close to the location, then you'll go in first in camouflage mode and sneak inside. I'll knock out the security, and anyone else, and tie them up so that they won't create any problems for us. Once I'm done with that, I'll sneak in and help you out in any way that I can." Siobhan told her.
"Right." The young Martian nodded. Once the enemy's tent was within their sight, Miss Martian quickly dove behind a large rock before she flew inside the tent in camouflage. Once there Miss Martian watched as scientists continue testing on Superboy and the sphere. Shoving the two scientists in front of Superboy's control panel aside, Miss Martian wasted no time in turning off the electricity.
"Well," a voice said from off to her left, "someone's certainly a glutton for punishment. Psimon says…" as the man spoke he lowered his hood, revealing a transparent skull that made his brain visible. "Forget." The last word was spoken as a telepathic command, and an instant later Miss Martian found herself inside her own mindscape.
All around her floated pieces of places from her life. Mt. Justice, the seats from the bioship, and many others, all floating, disjointed in a pink and purple sky. Even her costume was different, all the red turned white. "Yes…that's it. Forget, like before." Psimon said as a bright white light appeared, and grew, blinding Miss Martian.
"Before." And the memories came surging back as she fought for control.
Flashback
Her hands were camouflaged as they parted the flaps to the tent. *I'm in.* Miss Martian sent her through the telepathic link.
*Excellent. Find what we need and get out. I have an unsettling feeling that something will happen the longer we stay.* Siobhan replied as the feeling grew stronger at every passing minute that they're there.
*They're testing something.* Miss Martian said in realization as the scientists zapped a large metal sphere with electricity. *It's alive, but in pain! Hello? Can you hear me?* the Martian asked stretching out a hand towards the sphere.
*I can…* a new voice said in her mind. Chills went down Miss Martian's spine as the voice continued talking. *And an open mind in a dangerous thing.*
*Someone hacked our link!* Miss Martian frantically thought, scanning the room for where the other telepath might be.
"Psimon can't see you. Psimon can't catch you. But Psimon can make you all FORGET!" with that word each member of the team cried out in pain, clutching their heads, as six months of their memories were being forcibly erased.
End of Flashback
Back in her mindscape Miss Martian watched as a sickly white spread across everything. "No! I won't let it happen again!" she thought furiously, and with a psychic yell, repelled the sickly white.
"Not really your call little girl." The other telepath said as the white coalesced into a massive version of his head. Grinning evilly the giant head shot a blast of black and red mental energy from its forehead, slamming into the Martian.
A ways away, Robin and Artemis were walking along, careful to stay out of sight of the Bialyan troops patrolling the area. They separated from Morph and Kid Flash to keep an eye out for the enemy while Morph and Kid Flash will take Aqualad to the Bioship. "You think they made it back to the Bioship by now?" Artemis asked.
"Knowing how those two can be, oh yeah." Robin grinned.
"Ugh, I'm so going to smack him when this is over." The blonde grunted, considering this was the red heads idea. Just then something zoomed right past them with so much speed that the forced of it left a trail in the sand of where the thing flew off. Artemis and Robin calmly stared where the mysterious thing flew off to, knowing who it was.
"There goes Morph." Robin commented.
"Didn't know he can go that fast." Artemis added.
"You have potential." Psimon admitted as he continued firing a beam from his giant forehead at the shield Miss Martian had erected between them. "But you're too raw, too untrained. And not at all in my league." He told her, as the giant head opened its mouth revealing a smaller, full body, projection of Psimon before fading away. The new form of her enemy smiled at her, then broke through her barrier with a single shot.
Back in the tent, a scientist had begun to take notice of Psimon's intense stare, completely unaware of a certain Ljosalfar creeping up behind him for he is the only person left still conscious. "Mr. Psimon, are you alright?" he asked waving a hand in front of his face. Before he could begin to wonder exactly what was going on, objects all around the room began to float by a vast amount of psychic energy being released. Next thing he knew the scientist felt something hit the back of his head, rendering him unconscious. Siobhan then pulled him behind some equipment, next to the strange sphere. Not noticing a set of eyes had opened.
Superboy opened his eyes just as objects began to float around him. Due to his enhanced senses he noticed the ripples in the air where Miss Martian was floating. Shifting his vision into the ultraviolet spectrum he looked and saw that she was facing off with the one who had been torturing him. Snarling he glared at the pale skinned man, the sphere responded to his rage as it spun faster and faster ever than it did before. Siobhan watched the scene unfold with wide eyes as the sphere broke through its restraints, then slammed into Superboy's and broke his restraints in the process. Superboy let out a roar as he lunged at Psimon, only to be blasted back by a wall of psychic force. Skidding back he brought up a hand to stabilize himself, only to be sucked into the psychic battle.
"You're here!" Miss Martian exclaimed happily as Superboy appeared beside her.
"You sound relieved!" Psimon laughed. "Is this mindless creature supposed to save your mind?" he mockingly asked.
"No," the girl replied with a smile as she pressed her forehead to his. "I save his." Images, memories, thought and so much more coursed through the young clone's mind, and then the memory of when he and Siobhan almost kissed after M'gann got food all over them. Psimon laughed and fired off another blast, but it was intercepted by arches of blue and red light.
"Don't even think about it." Siobhan mocked with a sly grin on her face with her ice and fire katanas in her hands, now standing between her friends and Psimon as she pointed her fire sword at the malevolent psychic.
Less than a second later the mind melding was complete. Superboy looked at Miss Martian with gratitude in his eyes and smiled. "Kick his butt." He said to the girls before fading away.
"Oh, by all means," Psimon jeered, "kick my psychic argh!" he screamed as sword blades slashed across his chest in an 'x', discharging fire and ice throughout his body. "Stop that!" he bellowed at the female Amaluran.
But the blue skinned Ljosalfar just smirked and ignored him as she turned back to Miss Martian. "Shall we?" she asked.
"Lets." Miss Martian replied, smiling viciously.
The first thing Superboy saw was Miss Martian floating midair with Siobhan standing next to her, with her hand holding onto the Martian's wrist. Then he heard once he regained consciousness was the cocking of two Bialyan soldiers, which were knocked out by Siobhan but who has unfortunately had woken up from being hit hard in the back of his head with a butt ends of her prismere daggers, rifles as they ran into the test to see the teens now visible. But before they could fire a single red laser hit one of them in the back and sent him a good distance away while the other one was slammed by the sphere.
"Superboy you're ok!" Morph revealed himself to the clone as he nuzzled into his crook of Superboy's neck. The Kryptonian let out a small chuckle as he patted the small bot, "It's good to see you to Morph."
"Who's that?" Morph asked as his and Superboy turned their focus onto the mysterious sphere.
"I don't know." He answered.
It turned, revealing a few blinking lights, like a face almost and it blinked happily at the clone. Superboy and Morph quickly shared a looked before turning their gaze back to the sphere, "Um, thanks?" Soon more soldiers appeared as backup, and the clone and two bots wasted no time in taking all of them out. But it was soon obvious that the battle of the minds wasn't quite over. A tornado began swirling around them, lifting objects, and even people into the air.
"M'gann you have to try harder!" Siobhan shouted as she blasted the now giant figure of Psimon with lightning. While they were fighting she one of her katanas were about to break, so now she only was wielding her fire prismere katana.
"I can't!" she groaned back, holding her shield in place taking all of her concentration. "He's too strong!"
"No he's not!" the blue skinned Ljosalfar said as she ran towards her friend. "I know you're stronger than he is, and I'll be damned if we to a guy like this! You're not alone in this, I'm right here with you. We can beat him…together!" she said holding up her sword between them.
"Together!" Miss Martian agreed, grabbing the sword's handle along with her best friend as they smiled at each other before they glared at the intruding telepath as they pointed the blade at him. When Miss Martian grabbed the handle, Siobhan's eyes had started to glow purple as the flames had change to the same color. "Get. Out. Of. My. Head!" a beam of green/purple light shot out from the blade so powerful it swallowed the black beam that they'd been warring with and the giant figure of Psimon as well, reducing his mind to nearly nothing.
Psimon screamed in agony as his mind was ripped apart by the combined assault, with no more psychic energies holding him in place, he was tossed aside, just like everything else as the tornado exploded, throwing the tent and all the equipment everywhere. Miss Martian had used up a lot of energy with her battle against Psimon, thankfully Siobhan was there to catch her; but because she too had used up a lot of energy, and mana, she was about to fall over with her best friend. Rushing forward Superboy, with Morph right behind him, he barely managed to catch the girls before they hit the ground. The purple glow faded from her eyes as she left Miss Martian's mindscape, looking up to see Superboy's blue eyes staring down at her.
"Superboy?" she asked.
"Hi." He said softly. The two began to lean in, but were interrupted by someone clearing their throat reminding them that they weren't alone. Looking over they noticed Morph watching the two of them. The two mentally said 'sorry' to the little bot as Miss Martian began to wake up.
"You ok?" Superboy asked as he and Morph helped the two girls back onto their feet. "Yeah." Miss Martian answered as she placed her hand on her head. Before anyone could say another word, the sound of whirring beeping sound was heard as the strange sphere rolled up to them.
"Can we keep it?" the clone asked, sounding like an average teenager.
"Yeah, I'll have another friend!" Morph added.
Siobhan couldn't help but let out a soft giggle, "I have no problems with keeping it." She answered.
"Yay!" Morph happily exclaimed, which the three teenagers thought was just adorable.
"By the way, M'gann," said Martian looked at her, "I told you that you could beat him." Miss Martian didn't say anything, but she gave a happy smile towards Siobhan.
Qurac. September 5. 02:32 EEST
Artemis walked over to where Kid Flash had laid Aqualad with an IV drip in his arm to help him rehydrate. Kid Flash and Robin were both sitting down, resting after the long and tiring mission, only to be snapped out of it by Miss Martian's voice in their heads.
*Hey everybody, we've got Superboy and he's back to normal and we're on our way.* She was flying, while Siobhan and Superboy were following her on Morph in his hover board form, to the Bioship.
Aqualad jolted awake, shocked by the presence of a foreign voice in his head. "Who are you? And how did you get inside my head?" he asked, sitting straight up, but he was still too weak to resist as Artemis pushed him back down.
*Hello Megan! Aqualad's memories! I knew I forgot something.* The young Martian said, realizing what she had forgotten to do.
*Aw man. Me to. I didn't get a souvenir from this mission.* Kid Flash groaned.
*Don't worry, we've got that covered.* Siobhan told them, watching the sphere chase after them as they continued on their path to the Bioship.
In a circular room, Psimon stood before screen that all displayed white silhouettes. "The Martian and Amaluran girls escaped with the sphere, the Morph bot, and the Superboy." He told them lamentingly, his eyes still bloodshot from losing his battle with the two teens.
"That hardly matters." A female voice dismissed. "What matters is a successful test of our new partners' delivery system." On another screen a squad of Bialyan soldiers stood in an empty space in the desert as a white portal, almost a tunnel opened in the air with a deafening boom and deposited the sphere. "More techs will come." The female voice assured the psychic. "Tech that will put the sphere and perhaps even the Superboy to shame, but I need to have that wretched little robot back. No matter the cost."
OH my gosh! This took me so long to write, and I'm sorry that it took me this long. I've been dealing with drama, college, and many other issues.
I really, really hope that you like this chapter. And yes I know I didn't put much into Siobhan's and Artemis's rivalry, but like I said before the chapter began I wanted to focus more on Siobhan and Superboy's relationship. Please send me reviews so that I know that I'm doing ok, or that I need to change something.
This is Keller75863948274483 saying, bye-bye!
