AnimeKiwi369: I am a horrible person. I left you guys for about three weeks without an update! I apologize sincerely for that. I really have no excuse for this, other than I've mostly been too lazy to update. I'm going to try harder to update more often. I really am, so please don't lose faith in me.

Thanks to: Rapis-Razuri, Flameflinger Girl, gothicsasushina2012, Sunheart13, comicfan209, and our anonymous reviewers, PDS, anon, and Emmanuel for all reviewing the last chapter. You guys really rock and make a difference, and, again, I'm so sorry for not updating sooner.

I'm not going to say anymore so you can get to the chapter you've all been patiently waiting for. I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's or its characters. I just own the storyline, my OCs, and Yusei's mother's name.

Chapter 7

Akiza's Reassurance

Lane led Copper back to the ballroom, where their friends and their family looked at them concerned. The psychic nodded an 'it's okay now' to her family. They gave a nod back as her boyfriend led her back to the dance floor. He gently snaked his arm around her waist as she placed one hand on his arm. He took her other hand and brushed his lips on her knuckles. The psychic looked at Arlene over her boyfriend's shoulder again as their fingers entwined.

They continued to waltz for a little bit. The dark-haired girl saw the brunette glare at her each time she came into view. Her boyfriend spun her around and whispered the plan in her ear. The psychic mentally smirked, liking the plan that he had. She nodded and briefly stuck her tongue out at the brunette, who glared at her with daggers.

The blue-eyed-boy spun her around and put his hands on her shoulders, bringing her close. She stood on her tiptoes as he brought her up and placed his lips on hers for several seconds before they broke apart. The psychic smiled at him and smirked at her rival when she saw the red imprint from her lips that had been left on him.

But the dark-haired girl didn't feel very satisfied with the revenge. Her rival glared, but smirked after a minute, mouthing 'He will be mine.' The maroon-eyed girl wanted him even more now. The victory was hollow and bittersweet.

A Couple Days Later

Copper lazily pushed her hash browns around her plate. She felt tired in general even though she slept a good ten hours the past two nights. Akiza on the other hand was wide awake, despite only about six hours of sleep from the night before and not just because of the baby, who was curled up in her arms. She was more tense than tired. It was the day of her tag duel with Luna against Koda and The Professor. Whilst her daughter just didn't feel like eating, she was just too nervous.

The female Signer felt her husband's hands on her shoulders, making her look up. He had offered to cook breakfast, sensing her unease. She looked up at him, and he gave her a reassuring smile. She gave him a slight smile back. She looked down at Nickie as he nuzzled her ever so slightly. She looked at her tired daughter as felt her first child's hand on her arm. The dark amber-gold-eyed woman looked at her mother-in-law, who was smiling. The redhead felt more confident already; she had her family by her side. And her parents were going to be there as well.

The loud sound of the telephone broke the sound of the silence as the telephone rang. Yawning, the dark-haired psychic lazily started to lift her hand to bring the cordless phone to her, but Nan beat her in physically getting the phone first. She answered it after curiously looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?" She asked. There was a slight pause, "Yes, she's here." The brunette looked at her granddaughter, "It's for you, Copper."

"Me?" She inquired as she took the phone from her grandmother, "Hello?"

"Copper! Lilia's on vacation and Quinnely has food poisoning, so they can't go to their rehearsal," the familiar voice of Jen Terrin said slightly frantic. "So now the main understudies have rehearsal for an hour and forty-five minutes. And by understudies that means understudies for Odette, Siegfried, and Odile. That means you, Carson, and me. And rehearsal starts in about fifteen."

"What!?" The dark-haired girl exclaimed, "Fifteen? I'll see you there!" She hung up the phone quickly. She got up, exclaiming as she ran out of the room to go upstairs, "I'll meet you at the stadium!"

The dark-haired girl raced up the stairs into her room and hastily pulling off her pajamas, replacing them with tights, a short skirt, tank top and her signature boots. She put some other clothes in a small backpack and grabbed her helmet. She raced back down the stairs and hurriedly got on her runner, getting out of the garage and racing towards the studio. She almost didn't stop her runner as she parked it and rushed into the ballet studio, where the other two understudies were doing stretches.

She looked at the clock. Two minutes to spare, "Made it!" She exclaimed, before dropping to the wood flooring.

"Sorry about the short notice, Copper," Jen apologized. "I didn't find out until half an hour ago, and I just realized you didn't know until I got here twenty minutes ago."

"It's…fine…" She panted, "It's a good thing my mom's duel isn't for two hours and fifteen minutes."

"Yeah," the other dark-haired girl agreed. "By the way, I'm going to see your mom and Luna's duel, too. Do you think you could give me a ride on your runner?"

The cobalt-eyed girl shrugged, "Sure."

"I always seem to forget that your parents are famous," Carson, a dark-haired boy with piercing sea-foam eyes, commented.

The psychic nervously rubbed her head as she put on her ballet shoes, "Yeah." She took a deep breath, "Oh, I feel so rushed right now."

"I'm sorry about that Cyli," the voice of their instructor, Ms. Risa Svosky, commented. "I didn't get the e-mails from Lilia and Quinnely until this morning."

"It's fine, Ms. Risa," the double-Marked Signer replied.

The dance instructor nodded and then clapped her hands, "Shall we get started?"

The three understudies nodded.

Two Hours and Fifteen Minutes Later

Copper quickly pulled into the empty spot next to her father's car, which had her grandfather Hideo's card next to it. Her friends' family cars were nearby. She put her helmet and the helmet she lent her friend into the storage compartment of her runner. Before they left the studio, both had changed into more comfortable clothing. She quickly put a lock on her runner, though she knew that no would dare try to steal the recognizable vehicle.

She and her friend rushed to the doors into the stadium. As she and the orange-eyed girl got to the entrance to the stadium, they were stopped by a guard. The psychic sighed; he was only doing his job. He sounded familiar. She looked and recognized him easily. But what was he doing here?

"I can't let you any further without seeing your tickets," he commented. He looked over them, "Oh, sorry about that Ms. Fudo." Kaz apologized, "With you and your friend in such a rush, I didn't recognize you."

"It's fine, Kaz," she replied, "but what are you doing here?"

"They needed extra guards for today's duel," he informed. "People went crazy when they heard your mom and Luna were tag dueling against the men they faced in the Fortune Cup," he motioned them through. "You two can go on in. I trust you."

"Thanks, Kaz!" The cobalt-eyed girl replied, dragging her friend in with her into the stadium.

"You're so lucky, Copper," Jen commented. "You can get into places so easily like this because of your parents."

The element-nicknamed girl laughed a little, rubbing her head again, "Guess I am."

The two almost identical girls walked into the stadium until the orange-eyed one accidently ran into someone, "Oh, sorry." She apologized as she looked at the person she bumped into. She blushed seeing the boy and the other girl recognized him with the familiar rusty reddish-brown hair.

"It's fine," the boy replied

"Vizier?!" The psychic exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"

He shrugged, "I wanted to see the match. Is that wrong?"

"No," the female psychic replied. "I'm just a little surprised." She looked at her friend, "Oh, Jen, this is Vizier. I met him the other day when he kept me off the front page."

"How?" The other dancer asked.

"I got into a fight with Arlene," she explained simply. The other girl nodded.

"So where are you two sitting?" The cobalt-eyed boy asked.

"I need to find my friends and family. We always have seats together," Copper replied. "But I was going to find out where my mom and Luna were, so I could wish them luck."

"I'm not exactly sure where my seat is," the other girl confessed.

"Let me see your ticket," the male psychic said. The other dark-haired girl gave her ticket to him. He studied it for a few seconds and smiled, "This seat is right next to mine."

"That's great," she replied, blushing deeply.

"Let me show you the way," the redhead offered.

"O-Okay," Jen stuttered slightly. "Later, Copper."

"Bye," she replied making her way towards the area she knew her mother and Luna would be preparing.

She made her way down the hallways to find her mother. She wasn't really concerned. Her mother was an amazing duelist as well as Zoey's mother. They had dueled together before and they had beaten Jack and Kalin. She could hear her mother's voice down the hall, but she could also hear another familiar voice that wasn't the youngest Signer. It was her father's voice. She could understand if her father was giving some last minute pep talk.

She knocked on the door softly before opening it a crack. Her father, mother, and other Claw Signer weren't the only ones in there, but the teal-haired woman's husband, Daniel, was there as well. Yusei was holding her little brother. All the adults noticed her, and she felt a bit sheepish all of a sudden. But the young psychic went in anyway, despite the feeling. She always felt a bit strange when all eyes were on her when she was alone.

"I just wanted to come by and wish you guys luck," she commented, leaning against the door. The two duelists with their duel disk on their arms smiled, "And to tell you to just do your best."

Akiza went over to her daughter and pulled her close, slightly surprising the teenager. But the younger psychic hugged her back after a few seconds, "Thanks, baby." She whispered.

"Yeah. Thanks, Copper," the other female Signer replied.

"You're welcome," the dark-haired girl replied.

The green-gold-eyed woman and her husband came over and opened the door, "I'm going to go on ahead, okay, Akiza?" Luna said.

"Okay," the redhead responded. "I'll be there in a minute."

The other woman nodded before leaving with her husband. The brown-eyed woman kept a hold on her firstborn. She was still nervous. However, having her daughter close to her, as well as her husband and son, made her feel more confident. Her grip tightened slightly on the dark-haired girl. Her daughter's grip still remained soft and comforting.

"I'm still afraid," the burgundy-haired woman whispered, mostly too her daughter.

"Don't worry," Copper told her. "Mom, if you're worried about that Commander Koda, don't be. He might have gotten into your head back then, but you were insecure then and didn't have what you have now. You have friends, dad, Nickie, Grandpa, Grandma, Nanna, and me. Your family. And all of us are here for you."

"I know," her mother replied, her tone still a bit nervous.

The younger psychic pulled away from her mother slightly, reaching into her deck that was strapped in a case on her belt. She searched through it until she found the card she was looking for. She handed it to her mother, "I want you to use this in your duel to know me and everyone are behind you every step of the way."

Her mother looked at the card and her eyes widened slightly, "Rose Wind? Are you sure, honey?"

The blue-indigo-eyed girl nodded and smiled brightly before tightly hugging her mother, "Yes, mom." She replied, pulling back again, "No show them what you and Luna got!"

Her mother kissed her forehead and hugged her again, "I will." She said, smiling, "I know Luna and I can win now."

Yusei came up behind her and kissed her cheek, "You and Luna will do great."

Akiza nodded again before starting to move towards the door, "I should really get going."

Her husband and daughter nodded. She smiled before leaving. The dark-haired man led his daughter out of the room, still holding his son, and up to the area where their seats were. The open seats (Nickie was just going to stay being held by his father) were in two different spot on purpose. One was in between Nan and Hideo and the other was an aisle seat next to Lane. The psychic quickly left her father's side and slid next to her boyfriend's side. His hand slid into hers; she smiled and then turned her attention to the duel field.

I know you can do it, mom.

Coming Up in "Second War":

"No-no way…"

"It's not…not possible."

"Are you surprised to see me, Jack? I would be, too, if I were in your place."

"There will be another war. Be prepared. This new Signer-Dark Signer war will be worse than the last one. Especially for those who weren't involved in the war before. This will affect your loved ones. I hope you'll prepare for the war, Cyli-Elizabeth."

"W-Why?" She whispered.

"Let's just say, prepare for your worst fears."

Next Time—Chapter 8: An Unthought of Reappearance

AnimeKiwi369: Bet you're all wondering who reappears. Well, you'll have to wait and find out. ;] Also, I know you were all expecting a duel. While my duel writer, VileEXE, had started the tag duel, he just got very bad writer's block, so we just decided to scrap the duel. There will be duels in this story, though!

Since I took so long to update, I'm not going to ask for a certain number of reviews. I'll be lucky if I get two for how I've deprived you. I'm going to try and set an update day, so I'll probably shoot for either Saturdays or Sundays, starting next weekend, just so I have a week between updates. But I may give you and extra since I didn't update for so long.

Also, I feel I'm going to start to run out of chapters, and I have massive writer's block at the current moment with "Second War", which I'm hoping will go away after I get my current duel in the story. I'm also working rather prolifically on a novel I'm writing, so I've been putting that above fanfiction. And, of course, I've been putting school above that.

I feel like I'm boring you. I'll try to update when I can and be better about updating. And please be kind and please review, even though I probably don't deserve them. :3
