Hello there lovelies! It's me, AngelicxDemonic. I know that I have some readers that really enjoy this story, so I want all of you to know that the story is nowhere near over! (confetti and balloons drop from ceiling)

I have so much in store for this story if you all will just please bear with me and be patient waiting for updates. I'm a sophomore in college now so I'm busier and busier, but right now I'm on Christmas break, so I decided that I would try my best to update a few chapters for you guys because you deserve it! The way you work it! Girl you earned~ it!

(ahem) Sorry.

After this chapter I'm going to try to include 2 fights in one so I can get them over with faster and get more into the main plot. It's only the beginning...

Anyway! On to the story!

Enjoy ;)

(I'm going to try a new formatting style, let me know what you think!)

"Kitty? I seriously have to fight Kitty?" I asked, looking over at Clarisse.

"Yup, you do, newbie. Kitty's fighting style is easy to catch onto, yet deadly at the same time. She often helps train new demigods." she explained. Kitty nodded in agreement and sent me a look that was a mixture of a friendly grin and a smirk. A girk?

"Well I guess I have no choice, Kit. Let's do this thing." I slipped my bangles onto my wrists and flicked my wrists, turning them into swords instantly. Kitty brought out a small weapon that resembled a trident but it was much smaller and was silver with a long, skinny handle and blue swirls around it. Interesting. I craned my eyes to get a closer look at the weapon. I noticed that the blue swirl designs weren't designs; it was blue energy that was curving and winding inside of the mini-trident. The heck?

"Start!" Clarisse shouted and hauled ass off the battlefield. The others had already returned to their seats. Should I be concerned?

Without warning, Kitty rushed at me with her weird trident thing, immediately putting me on the defense. Clanging sounds were heard as I crossed my swords in front of me in an 'X' to block her attack. The impact pushed me back a bit, but I regained my footing quickly. Kitty had already regained her balance and was charging at me again. No way in Hades was I going to lose to my best friend. Knowing her, she'd never let me live it down. I charged at her and swung with my right sword. She flinched away into a backflip and landed neatly on her feet. Just like a cat.

I wasn't finished just yet. I rushed at her and swung again with my right sword. I managed to catch her shoulder and she yelped. I backed away, hoping I hadn't overdone it, then she quickly charged me again.

"Dang it Yaz! This is my favorite shirt!" She was dressed in a long-sleeved black off-the-shoulder top, olive green camouflage cargo skinny pants, and black lace up combat boots that stopped at her lower thighs. Eh. Whatever. I blocked her with my left sword and kicked her in the stomach. She fell on one knee and coughed a bit. She don't seem too fazed though. She grabbed me by the ankle and tried to pull me down, but I quickly did a one-handed cartwheel and freed myself from her grasp. I thought those crappy one-handed cartwheels would never come in handy. Something good came out of me sucking in gymnastics class.

"Wow, that one-handed cartwheel was sweet!" Leo complimented as he nudged Nico who was watching the fight with his chin in one hand. He only nodded.

I backed up to put some space between Kitty and I before charging at her again. I held my right sword flat and went to jab at her. She caught the blade in between the blade things of her trident. She gripped the handle tightly and quickly swiped to the right, knocking the sword right out of my hand. I inwardly groaned. 'Not this again.'I jumped away from her before she could do the same to my other sword.

She quickly came at me trying to jab me with her trident. I quickly side-stepped every jab and slashed at her with my left sword, causing her to drop the trident. She growled and went to grab it. While she was doing that, I quickly retrieved my other sword. She stood up with her trident in hand, the blue energy inside of it twisting and turning like light blue snakes.

She turned towards me and pointed the trident at me. I thought she was going to rush me so I immediately blocked my face with my swords, but I noticed she hadn't moved. The blue energy began to swirl faster and faster until, then suddenly it concentrated at the points of the trident. Before I could react, a gush of extremely cold, highly pressurized water hit me in the center of my chest. I was knocked a few feet away from Kitty and skidded across the dirt in the arena, dirtying my all black clothes.

"Shit!" I cursed as I held my chest. It feels as if I cracked a rib. I could barely breathe and my heart was pounding, threatening to burst out of my chest. I looked up at Kitty to see that she was smirking at me. If she thought a little water was going to keep me down then she was sorely mistaken. I slowly stood to my feet and began charging at her with both swords drawn. I was pissed now. I swung wildly at her. She was blocking every hit but I kept coming at her with force. She couldn't block me forever.

"Oh she's pissed off now. This should be good." Clarisse grinned. Leo was on the edge of his seat and Nico sat quiet and still, observing my every move. The stands were dead quiet. Everyone was watching to see what I would do next.

I stopped swinging wildly and tried to calm myself down.

'You can't let your opponent get the best of you, Yaz.'

Kitty stopped as well. She gazed at me wondering why I had stopped. I gripped my swords tightly until my knuckles turned white. I thought about using my daggers, but I figured it wouldn't be smart to attack at close range with someone using a long range weapon. I sighed as I went over different strategies in my head. I really didn't want to lose to Kitty.

Kitty saw that I hadn't moved, so she positioned her trident to shoot another stream of water at me. That's not going to happen again. I quickly began charging her and before she could react with her trident, I swiped at her. I caught her off guard and she fell on her back, her trident flying away from her. I pointed my right blade at her neck and stared her in the eyes, daring her to get up.

She looked into my eyes with her cold blue-green ones. Before anyone could open their mouth to say anything she kicked me away from her and backflipped away. I caught my balance easily and stood on my guard as she picked up her trident. We locked eyes and began charging at one another.

"Yasmine has improved in her fighting already. This is impressive. I knew putting her against Kitty would really begin to bring the potential out of here. This is how you train strong demigods." Chiron noted. Nico looked over at him at the sound of his voice, forgetting that he was there for a moment.

"What do you think, Nico?" Leo winked at him mischievously, "Your girlfriend is really going at it out there!"

Nico groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. "She's not my girlfriend.." he grumbled as his neck heated up and began to itch.

"Not yet!" Leo laughed.

Clash! Clang! Was all that could be heard on the battlefield. I was slashing at Kitty from every direction and she was blocking every one. I didn't stop though. She'd eventually get tired then I could go in for the winning strike. We went on like this for another few minutes until she stopped. I stopped also, but kept my guard up. She pointed her trident at me, probably attempting that water thing again.

I was getting tired of the same old trick and getting tired in general. I was just ready for this to end.

I blocked my face, as she began charging at me. I took my swords away from my face and began charging back at her. The blue energy congregated at the end of her trident. She tricked me!

It was too late to stop charging, so I just continued on, hoping that I'd be able to stay on my feet if I got hit with the water again.

As we got closer to each other, the water began to form a large orb at the end of the trident. If I get hit with that thing it might break every bone in my body! I braced myself and charged faster, feeling the wind kick up around me. The water orb was getting larger and larger and I was getting closer to it.

At an alarming speed, I charged right through the orb and...nothing. I didn't get wet at all. Hold on..

I stopped in my tracks. Slowly, I craned my neck around to see Kitty on the ground clutching her trident. She didn't look badly hurt, but she was breathing heavily. What the heck is going on?

Clarisse and the medical team rushed down to the field and ran up to us.

"Wait, what just happened here?"

"You mean, you didn't see that thing you just created?!" Clarissed asked incredulously.

"What thing are you talking about?" I asked, staring at her like she had seven heads.

"That giant storm cloud..." she trailed off.

That's it for Chapter 8!

I apologize for the length. Fight scenes aren't my best (sweatdrop)

I hope the next one is longer.

Don't hurt me hehe.

What do you guys think about Yasmine's fighting skills so far? Her weapons, Celeste and Silvia?

Nico's reactions? Leo's teasing?

Leave me some reviews, don't be shy!
