Episode 1: Sleepwalking

Chapter 8

Lilly woke up to something that felt warm and soft on her face. As she slowly opened her eyes she saw that it was Miley waking her up with kisses. Miley gently kissed her eyelids, her cheeks, her forehead, and her chin. Lilly then closed her eyes again, relishing the feeling of Miley's kisses on her face. She smiled as she heard a giggle that could only come from her Miley.

"I know you're awake Lils. Seriously, we have to get ready for class."

Lilly turned her head towards the clock at saw that it was 6:00. Today's class wasn't until 9:30. "Miles, we have at least another hour of sleep," Lilly said as she rolled over on her side. She felt Miley fall on her back and sighed deeply. Having a feeling that something was wrong, Lilly rolled on her other side to face Miley. "Ok, Miles, what's wrong?"

"I don't know. I'm just nervous I guess."

"There's nothing to be worried about Miles. We'll be just fine."

"How do you know?" Miley asked with a pouty look on her face.

"I just do, now can we please go back to sleep?" Lilly asked as she laid her head back down on the pillow.

Miley laughed and said, "Sure Lils." Then she laid her head on Lilly's chest and went back to sleep.

After another hour of sleep, Miley and Lilly finally got up. Lilly was currently digging through her drawers trying to find her favorite blouse. She called out to Miley who was in the bathroom, "Miles, have you seen my favorite blouse? You know, the light pink one?" She continued to look through her drawer, swearing she had packed it. She was pretty sure she hadn't left it back home.

After a few more seconds, Miley came into the room. "Umm Lilly, do you mean this blouse?"

Lilly turned around to find that Miley was wearing her blouse. Miley smiled and batted her eyelashes innocently at Lilly.

"Miles, you know I can't resist that look," Lilly said as she slowly shook her head.

"I know Lils but I like this blouse of yours too."

"Fine, I'll just wear my other favorite," Lilly said softly as she turned around and started digging through her drawer again.

After they got ready, they started walking to the cafeteria. Miley reached down and took Lilly's hand, intertwining their fingers together. Lilly smiled as she rubbed Miley's arm with her free hand.

"Miles, I was reading about how a lot of people go off to college and gain the freshman fifteen. Do you think that'll happen to me?" Lilly asked as she looked down at her belly.

Miley scoffed at the thought. "Oh please Lils, you have never been even slightly chubby a day in your life. Well, maybe when you were a baby..." Miley said as she smiled.

Lilly playfully hit Miley's belly. "I regret the day you found my baby pictures."

A couple of years ago, when Miley and Lilly were fifteen, Lilly's grandmother passed away. Miley went with Lilly and Lilly's mom to sort through her grandmother's house and move belongings out of the house. While they were sorting through pictures, Miley found an album filled with Lilly's baby pictures. Lilly tried to snatch it away from her but Miley didn't let her and now whenever Lilly says something about her weight, Miley reminds her of her baby pictures.

"Don't regret it Lils. You were cute as a baby," Miley said as she released Lilly's hand and wrapped her arm around Lilly's shoulders. Lilly wrapped her arms around Miley's waist and put her head on Miley's shoulder as they continued to walk to breakfast in silence. They reached the door when all of a sudden Miley pulled Lilly around the corner away from the door, to the other side of the building.

"Miley, wh…" Lilly started to say but she was interrupted when she felt a pair of warm lips on hers. She instantly melted into Miley's kiss and held Miley closer to her. The kiss was slow and soft, just like Lilly liked it. After a few minutes, Miley slowly pulled away and looked into Lilly's blue eyes.

"Lils, do you remember when I told you I liked brown eyes?" Miley asked as she removed one hand from Lilly's waist and used it to caress Lilly's cheek. Lilly nodded as she closed her eyes and smiled at the feeling of Miley's touch.

"Well, there's an exception to everything and I've started loving blue eyes. Especially one pair of angelic blue eyes," Miley smiled.

Lilly was pretty sure her heart was soaring. Just when she didn't think she could love her Miley more, Miley gave her another reason to. She held Miley tightly to her. She was about to give Miley another kiss when the two of them heard footsteps running up behind them.

"Hi Hi!" Said possibly one of the most annoying voices on earth. Miley and Lilly pulled away from each other and turned to see Amber and Ashley's smile turning into a suspicious look.

"What are you two doing?" Amber said in her old snotty voice. Miley rolled her eyes, she knew the only reason they wanted to be friends with her is because she was famous.

"None of your business," Lilly said as she grabbed Miley's hand, "Come on Miles. Let's have breakfast."

"Wait," Amber called out after them. Miley and Lilly stop as Amber says, "Is that old rumor from high school about you being into each other true?" Lilly is the next to roll her eyes as she turns around with a glare on her face.

"What if it is true? Who cares?" Lilly says as Miley turns around to stand next to her in a show of support.

"Yeah, you two sure seemed to be against it back in high school with as much as you two teased us," Miley said as a knowing look came upon her face. She kind of knew what was coming up.

"Well you're Miley Stewart so we can be accepting of you two," Ashley says with a smile on her face that was friendly on the outside but Miley and Lilly could tell there was some disgust behind that smile.

Miley could feel her fists rolling in a ball. She knew she told Lilly that they probably wouldn't have a normal life because she was Miley Stewart, the most famous pop star. Her body was tensing up. She started wondering if Lilly would be able to deal with her fame and the possibility of running into fake people. She was about to say something until Lilly took Miley's to remind her best friend that she was still there.

"Look you two, we are sick of people like you. This is why Miley was Hannah Montana in the first place. So people would be friends with her and not because she was a celebrity. That's why she was friends with Oliver and me, because we were her best friends long before we knew she was Hannah Montana and she knew we would be her best friends long after Hannah Montana had retired. We love her for who she is and you two never liked us because we were "dorks" according to you. So yes, Miley and I are dating and no, we will not just be your friends because you want to be friends with someone of celebrity status," Lilly said as she released Miley's hand and put her arm around Miley's shoulders.

They didn't even wait to hear Amber and Ashley's response before turning around and walking to the dining hall. The last look Lilly remembers getting from them was the scowl that had landed on Amber's face and the look of disbelief on Ashley's face. As they walked away from them, Miley gave Lilly a kiss on the side of her head and held it there for a few second.

"Thanks Lils," Miley said as she pulled away and pushed a couple of stray blonde hairs behind Lilly's ear with her free hand.

Lilly smiled and said, "You're welcome Miley. Those two were getting on my nerves. I really don't want to deal with them in college," Lilly said as she looked down at the ground. She didn't know why but the idea of them being there upset her just because she thought they would leave all of that in high school. Miley noticed her looking down at the ground and stopped her. She stood in front of Lilly and wrapped her arms around Lilly's waist.

"Hey, don't let Amber and Ashley get to you like this hon. You were the one who told me to just do what we did in high school and ignore them," Miley said and kissed Lilly's forehead. Lilly looked up at Miley and smiled.

"I know you're right Miles."

"Just remember what you told me, this is going to be the best four years of our lives. Right?"

"Right," Lilly said then she gave Miley a quick peck on the lips. "I love you."

"I love you too Lils. We'll get through everything, as long as we are together." Lilly gave Miley a hug before they intertwined their hands and walked into the dining hall.

After they got their breakfast, they sat at a table and ate their food in silence. All of a sudden a group of guys walked in. Miley looked at them and noticed that college guys really are cuter than high school guys.

"Dang, college guys sure are cuter than they were in high school," Miley said as she watched the guys getting their lunch. All of a sudden she felt someone kick her under the table and looked up to see an angry looking Lilly.

"Excuse me," Lilly said as she looked at Miley. Miley looked at Lilly and quickly recovered by saying, "Of course you're cuter. Much cuter than some boy."

"Nice save," Lilly mumbled as she continued eating her eggs. Then she felt Miley take her hand across the table.

"Come on Lils, I know you're not really mad and you got to admit, they were cute," Miley said, smiling innocently at Lilly.

Lilly rolled her eyes and said, "Yeah, they were. College guys are definitely way cuter, maybe I should go talk to them," Lilly said teasingly as she started to stand up. She was quickly pulled back down when Miley pulled on her hand while saying, "Hey!"

"I'm just kidding Miles. You know I don't want anyone else but you," Lilly said as she smiled and squeezed Miley's hand gently.

Miley smiled back and said, "And I don't want anyone else but you." Miley lifted Lilly's hand and gently kissed her knuckles.

A blush crept up on Lilly's cheeks as she enjoyed the feeling of Miley kissing her knuckles. "Come on, we should get to class," Lilly said as she started to stand up, still holding Miley's hand. She loved holding Miley's hand. It felt so soft and warm. Which was kind of like Miley's personality, just a mixture of everything that was perfect according to Lilly.

After Miley and Lilly went to their room to get their backpacks, they went to their first class of the day. Today they had three classes back to back. They had Music Appreciation, Psychology, and Composition I. They had those classes on Monday's and Wednesday's while on Tuesday's and Thursday's they had World History and Speech Communication. They walked over to their Music Appreciation class while holding hands but not saying much of anything. They were kind of nervous.

Lilly sat in the front of the class with Miley sitting behind her. Miley was nervous as she fiddled with her notebook on her desk. The only thing that calmed her was the flowery smell of Lilly's hair. Miley looked around her and could easily pick out who was new. She saw one girl doing exactly what she was doing, looking around with a nerve-wracking look on her face. Then she looked to the other side of her and saw a red hair boy drawing on his notebook. He looked out of the corner of his eyes and saw Miley looking at him. When she smiled at him, he moved his hand and his arm over the notebook protectively, trying to hide what he was doing. Then he moved his face super close to the notebook and continued what he was doing while glancing around the room making sure no one could see what he was doing.

Miley thought that was very bizarre and was about to write a note to Lilly about it until she turned around in her seat and moved her head a little to the side glancing over at the boy. Miley smiled and put her hands around her mouth so no one could see what she was whispering.

"Did you see the guy next to me too?" Miley asked as she saw Lilly nod.

"Yeah, that was so weird. Did we sign up for the looney bin instead?"

Miley laughed at Lilly's question as she slowly shook her head. "Last I checked, no but you would probably do good there," Miley said with a teasing grin on her face.

"Shut up," Lilly said as she rolled her eyes and turned back around in her seat. Miley quickly jotted down a note and passed it to Lilly. Lilly smiled at the note that said, "I love you! Love, your Miley"

Lilly then wrote a note back saying, "You're so sweet and I needed that at this moment. I love you too! Love, your Lilly" Then Lilly passed the note back to Miley just before the professor walked in.

The professor walked in and set her books down on the teacher's desk as she said, "Good morning class. I hope you all had a good summer." She was a thin elderly looking woman with grey hair and glasses that sat on the top of her nose. She walked over to the board and wrote her name on the board which read Mrs. Anderson. Music Appreciation." She turned around and got out her roll book while briefly scanning the class. She then made eye contact with Miley and a smile grew on her face.

"Well class, it looks like we have Miley Stewart in this class. I love it! Miley, I'm also the chorus professor, you should join my college chorus class," Mrs. Anderson said, waiting for Miley's response.

A blush grew on Miley's cheeks. She was majoring in music and would need a chorus class but she really wasn't expecting the teacher to point her out. It really didn't matter but now everyone was looking at her waiting for a response. She laughed nervously and said, "I will, maybe next semester."

A smile grew larger on the professor's face. Miley and Lilly thought her face would crack because it was so big. "Great, wonderful, well I'm going to call roll and then we will go over the syllabus."

Miley sunk down in her seat as the professor called roll. People were smiling at her now, Miley figured because they all now cared that she was Miley Stewart. She didn't know but she hoped no one would be friends with her in order to be the teacher's pet. Lilly quickly glanced back at Miley, noticing how her best friend had sunk down in her seat and looked embarrassed. Lilly quickly wrote something on s piece of paper and handed it to Miley.

Miley opened the note which said, "I'm sorry, I know that was embarrassing but you do look cute when you're embarrassed." Miley smiled as she closed the note back and took the syllabus that the teacher was handing out. Another hour and twenty minutes until this class was over then she would see what this class was about. Honestly, the only reason Miley and Lilly even chose this class was because they both needed it for their majors and they figured since they both wrote music, it wouldn't be that boring. They would find themselves to be completely wrong though. As they listened to the professor go over what they would be learning that semester, they learned that they would mainly be learning the history of music from the Greeks, all the way to modern times. It was mainly classical music that they would be learning about and they even had to go to a classical music concert and write a paper about it. Miley just figured that she would just go with Lilly and they would try to keep the other one awake.

When class ended everyone pretty much popped out of their chairs. Miley and Lilly grabbed their backpacks then Miley took Lilly's hand as they stood up. They were about to walk out of their class when Mrs. Anderson said Miley's name. Miley and Lilly turned around to face their professor who was walking up to them.

"Miley, I just wanted to let you know that it is an honor to have you in class. My granddaughter absolutely loves you," Mrs. Anderson said with a friendly smile on her face.

Miley smiled back. She could tell already that this would be one of her favorite professors but a part of her had a feeling that all of the students in her class who had musical talent were her favorites. Earlier in the class she had asked who had music ability. She, Lilly, and a few other people had raised their hands and she automatically wanted them in her chorus class.

"Thank you, I'm glad to know I still have a fan. Unfortunately people weren't too welcoming after I revealed who I really was," Miley said as the smile on her face turned neutral.

"Well, you still have a fan in my granddaughter but I meant what I said in class. You two should join my chorus class," Mrs. Anderson said as the smile on her face grew so large Miley and Lilly thought her face would break.

"We definitely will, it sounds like a fun class," Miley said as she glanced up at the clock. She realized that they needed to start heading to their psychology class or else they would be late. "We don't mean to storm off but we have a psychology class in a few minutes. Bye!" Miley said as she and Lilly walked out the door.

Luckily, the psychology classroom was in the same building, just a couple of doors down. Even with this being the case they were about five minutes early. They sat like they had sat in the class before, with Lilly in the front and Miley sitting behind her. The classroom was pretty much empty since no one had gotten there yet. Lilly turned around in her seat so that she was facing Miley.

"So, how are you liking college so far Miles?" Lilly asked as she smiled lovingly at her best friend.

"I'm liking it so far. It's definitely nicer than high school. People are friendlier too. How about you?" Miley said, returning the loving smile.

"I like it, you're right about it being different than high school though, I mean, besides Amber and Ashley being here," Lilly reminded her.

"Yeah but we can just ignore them like we did back then but you know the best part of college?" Miley asked.

"What's that?" Lilly asked with a questioning look on her face.

"My childhood best friend is now my girlfriend, and I get to spend college with her," Miley said as she took Lilly's hand and lifted it up to her lips and gave it soft kisses.

Lilly smiled as Miley kissed her hand. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" Lilly asked as she squeezed Miley's hand.

Miley lifted her head to look into Lilly's ocean blue eyes. "I ask myself that too Lils, all the time."

Lilly smiled and was about to respond when they heard a voice behind them, "Miley Stewart, is that you?"

Lilly looked up as Miley turned around to come face to face with a red haired girl. She had red hair and glasses. Miley recognized her within a couple of seconds.

"Mallory?"

"Yes, oh my gosh, I haven't seen you since third grade when I moved," Mallory said as she smiled.

"I know, it has been a long time. Mallory, this is my best friend Lilly. Lils, this is Mallory, she and I have known each other since we were three. We went to preschool together in Tennessee and lived in the same neighborhood until third grade when she moved," Miley said with a smile on her face.

"It's nice to meet you Mallory," Lilly said as she reached out her hand to shake Mallory's hand. Mallory shook her hand and then took a seat behind Miley. Lilly couldn't help but notice the look on Miley's face. Any other person would have seen the smile as welcoming and friendly but she knew Miley like a book. She could tell that the smile was forced and that there was a guarded look behind Miley's eyes. She would be sure to ask Miley about it later.

"It's nice to meet you too Lilly. Gosh, it's been so long. Miley and I lost touch after third grade. The three of us should go out sometime and catch up," Mallory said with a genuine smile on her face.

"Yeah, we should," Miley said. She didn't know if they would though because there was a lot of history between Mallory and Miley. Bad history. Miley really didn't want to talk to Mallory but she didn't want to be rude. She was saved a couple of seconds later when the professor walked in, making everyone turn around and face the front of the classroom.

"Good Morning class," the professor said as she walked into the room. A few people mumbled good morning as she set her coffee and her binder down on the teacher's desk then she turned around and faced the class. "Now come on, I know we can do better than that. Good Morning class," She said with a smile on her face.

The whole class then said, "Good Morning!"

The professor's smile grew as she said, "That's much better! Every class I will start by saying good morning and I want to hear the class say it just like that. It wakes you up at eleven o' clock in the morning." The professor had a huge smile on her face and glasses perched on her nose with her black hair up in a bun. She looked very friendly as she turned around and wrote on the board, Mrs. Fall, General Psychology. She then turned back around to face the class and started handing out the syllabus for class.

The class seemed to go by quickly. The only thing they really went over was the syllabus and what the tests would be like which the tests would be multiple choice and one essay. That didn't sound so bad to either Miley or Lilly. The only thing was that the tests were the only grades that would be counted. When class was over, Mallory handed Miley a note that had her phone number on it and said, "Miley, call me when you want to hang out. I'll see you and Lilly later." Then Mallory turned around and walked off.

Miley just slipped the piece of paper in her purse and walked out of the classroom. Lilly ran after her trying to catch up with her best friend. "Miles, what did the note say," Lilly said as she caught up with her girlfriend. She wanted to know why Miley was acting so weird but she also wanted to know why Miley started acting so strange after Mallory showed up and why she had never heard about her before.

"It just had her phone number on it Lilly. I don't want to talk about it right now," Miley said as they walked to their Composition I class.

"Ok Miles," Lilly said as she took Miley's hand. She really wanted to talk to Miley about this but they had class in a few minutes and she didn't want to push Miley if Miley really didn't want to talk about it. She felt Miley squeeze her hand and she looked up to see the face of her smiling best friend.

"I love you Lils, it's just a long story and I'll have more time to explain after our last class," Miley said as she comfortingly rubbed the back of Lilly's hand with her thumb. She did want to tell Lilly, it was just really involved. She didn't want Lilly to spend class thinking she was pushing her away.

Lilly smiled back at Miley and said, "I love you too Miles. I want you to tell me because you want to though, not because you think you have too."

Miley released Lilly's hand and wrapped her arm around Lilly's shoulders as they walked to class. When they walked in, they looked around. The class room was smaller and more cramped than the other classrooms and it was hotter but they both sat in the front row, right next to each other. The people in this class were different than the other classes too. It was obvious that a lot of these people signed up for this class with their friends since there were a lot of little groups sitting around together and talking.

Soon after Miley and Lilly walked in, the professor came in. She looked like a shorter woman with gray hair. She had a wool jacket on over her blouse and seemed to be carrying every English textbook she owned. Lilly glanced up at the clock. It was now twelve thirty.

"Good afternoon class! My name is Mrs. Bouvier and I will be your professor for Composition I," Mrs. Bouvier said with a smile on her face. "Now, I am going to call roll and I promise I will get your names eventually. I may have to come up with little nicknames and ways to remember it though so just bear with me." The whole class laughed at that as she went ahead and called roll. Afterwards she did the same as the other teachers, handed out a syllabus.

Miley and Lilly both looked over the syllabus while the professor talked. They had to read two books, write four essays about articles that would be provided for them, then they had a major research paper due at the end of the semester and it could be on any topic they wanted it to be on as long it was a topic on someone surviving something. The good thing about the four essays was that they were allowed to make corrections if they didn't like the grade they got and the professor would tell them what kind of corrections needed to be made. It didn't get much better than that.

The class went by quickly and actually got out a little early. The professor had said this would be the only time they got out early though. The professor seemed friendly and like she would try not to make the class too boring. Miley and Lilly grabbed their backpacks then took each other's hands as they walked out of the classroom.

Miley and Lilly walked to their dorm room in silence. When they got to their room Miley flung herself onto the bed burying face into the pillow. Lilly sat on the side of the bed next to her and put her hands on Miley's back and rubbed it the way she knew Miley liked. She heard Miley groan.

"Miles, I don't know what Mallory did to you when you were younger but you don't need to let it ruin your first day of college," Lilly said trying to comfort her best friend. She was now really curious about how this girl treated Miley.

Miley moved her head so that she was looking at Lilly. "I'm not letting her get to me that much. Our first day was pretty good, I have no reason to complain. It's just, before I met you and Oliver, I considered Mallory my best friend. Then I met you and Oliver and realized how true friends treat each other and I realized how badly treated I was by Mallory."

"What did she do Miles," Lilly asked carefully. She didn't want to make Miley feel like she had to tell her but at the same time, she was curious.

Miley sighed and said, "I hope you're not upset with me for never telling you about her Lils. I never meant to keep it a secret, it's just, when I met you and Oliver, I forgot about it."

Lilly smiled at Miley as she laid down next to her. She gave her a slow kiss on the lips then pulled back. "I'm not upset with you Miley. I could never be upset with you for forgetting about something that obviously hurt you."

Miley smiled as she put her head on Lilly's chest and wrapped her arms around Lilly's waist. She breathed in the scent of Lilly's perfume as Lilly ran her fingers through Miley's brown hair. "She was probably worse than Luanne Lils."

"Really?" Lilly asked as she held Miley tightly to her.

Miley nodded her head. "Luanne was mean. I won't deny that but she never made me trust her. Mallory did. Everyone noticed how bad of a friend she was and tried to tell me but I guess I wanted people to like me so badly that I never stood up for myself."

Lilly rubbed her hand up and down Miley's back. "You always were a people pleaser Miles," Lilly said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, that seemed to be my flaw back then. I used to let Mallory boss me around and tell me what to do. I was afraid to climb the monkey bars as a kid and I remember her talking me into trying to get across once. I got stuck on them and my arms were killing me as I cried out for my Grandma Stewart. When she came out and saw me stuck and crying with Mallory laughing, she helped me down and made Mallory go home," Miley teared up as she thought about that memory. She never got on monkey bars again after that, not unless she was on her daddy's shoulders.

"Then one time in my back yard, I had a toy sandbox. Mallory dumped the sand out and threw it on top of me and sat on it. I remember hitting the top of the sandbox but she was bigger than me and I couldn't get out. My mom came out and asked where I was when Mallory told her she put me under the sandbox. My mom yelled at her and made her go home while she got me out from under there," Miley said, recalling the horrible memories.

Lilly tightened her hold on Miley and kissed the top of her head. She couldn't believe someone treated her Miley like that. "Oh Miley, that's horrible."

"I know. Not only that but I was her spare friend, she only hung out with me when she had no one else to hang out with. We had a few mutual friends but she always preferred to hang out with just them, she never invited me to hang out with them. Then I met you and Oliver and I realized that real friends don't do that. Real friends don't leave each other out and I never felt like the third wheel with you two," Miley said as her bad memories with Mallory were replaced by her memories with Lilly and Oliver.

"If I thought you would let me, I would go kill her right now," Lilly said, anger rising in her voice.

"You're right, I wouldn't let you do that," Miley said with a laugh. "I guess when I saw Mallory, those old memories came back. I really haven't seen her since third grade so I really had forgotten all about her," Miley said as she rubbed Lilly's side with her hand.

Lilly stayed silent for a minute, as much as she hated how Miley was treated, she also knew that people do change after time so maybe Mallory was trying to make amends. "Hey Miley?"

"Yeah," Miley said, her voice came out as a whisper.

Lilly paused for a second trying to think of how to phrase it. "Well, I was just thinking about how people do change so maybe Mallory has changed. You were kids when she did all that stuff. You're grown adults now. Maybe you should try giving her a second chance," Lilly said hoping Miley wouldn't be upset with her.

"Yeah, I know you're right Lilly, I guess I'm just afraid she hasn't changed," Miley said with a twinge of sadness in her voice.

"Well, there's only one way to find out. Besides, I'm here now and I won't let anyone hurt you Miley," Lilly said as Miley looked up at her and smiled. Lilly bent her head down, kissing Miley deeply.

Soon the kissing got heated as Miley rolled Lilly on her back. Miley started kissing Lilly jaw, slowly making her way down Lilly's neck. She heard Lilly gasp beneath her as she started nibbling Lilly's neck. Miley then went back up and gave Lilly a kiss on the lips.

The kiss lasted for a few minutes before they both slowly pulled away. They smiled and looked into each other's deep blue eyes as Lilly rubbed Miley's back with her hands.

"What did I ever do to deserve you?" Miley asked, repeating Lilly's question from earlier.

"You were you Miles, that's all you ever had to do in order to get me to fall for you. That and smile, I love that smile," Lilly said as she looked lovingly in her eyes.

Miley smiled as she leaned down to where her face was only inches away from Lilly's. "I love you too Lils." Then their lips met again as Miley's hands started lifting up Lilly's shirt. She broke the kiss and looked into Lilly's eyes to see any hesitation but all Lilly's eyes were filled with were her love for her best friend. Their lips met again and soon clothes came off as Miley and Lilly spent the next couple hours sharing their love with each other. After they had made love for the first time, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

A couple of hours later, Lilly woke up feeling something tickling her nose. She tried scratching her nose but felt a patch of hair on her nose. She opened her eyes to find Miley's brown hair covering her nose. She moved her hair and lifted her head off of Miley's chest to look at her sleeping face. Memories of their first time flooded through her mind as a smile graced her face. All Lilly could think about was how much she loved her Miley and how wonderful it felt to be loved by her. She turned to look out the window and noticed the sun was going down. She looked over at the clock that was on her side and saw that it was now six o'clock.

Lilly looked back at Miley. She hated to wake her up since she thought Miley looked cute when she was asleep but she had to wake her up. She knew Miley would be up all night if she didn't wake up. Lilly gently shook Miley's shoulder.

"Miles, it's time to wake up honey."

Miley groaned and snuggled up closer to Lilly. Lilly giggled then kissed Miley's nose. Miley crinkled her nose as she opened her eyes to look up at a smiling Lilly. Lilly bent down and gave Miley a lingering kiss on her lips.

After a few seconds, Miley pulled away. "Hey."

"Hey sleepyhead," Lilly said as she ran her fingers through Miley's hair.

"What time is it?" Miley asked as she rubbed her eyes with her hands.

"It's six o'clock. If you don't wake up now then you'll never get to sleep tonight."

"Is that such a bad thing," Miley asked as a sneaky smile came upon her face.

Lilly blushed as she said, "Miley, we have class at eight o'clock in the morning. We'll need our sleep."

"I guess you're right," Miley said as she sighed. She smiled as she wrapped her arms tighter around Lilly's waist. "Always taking care of me, aren't you?"

"Yeap, part of my job description," Lilly said as she laid her head back on Miley's chest.

Miley kissed Lilly on top of her head and held her close. They would have spoken about what had happened before but the comfortable silence and soft caresses spoke enough to where they didn't have to say anything.

After a few more minutes, they got up and got dressed and went to dinner. They sat a table that was more secluded so that they could have their privacy. Miley reached across the table with the palm of her hand facing up. Lilly took Miley's hand and squeezed it as they continued to eat.

They were about finished eating when they heard a voice coming up to them. "Miley, Lilly!"

"Oh no, that sounds like Mallory," Miley said as she rubbed her head with her free hand.

Lilly gently squeezed Miley's hand and said, "Don't worry honey. I won't let her be mean to you." Miley smiled at her as Mallory pulled up a chair to sit next to them.

"Hey Mallory," Miley said as she faked a smile. She was glad no one except Lilly could tell the difference between her fake and real smiles.

"Umm did I interrupt something?" Mallory asked as she stared at Miley and Lilly's joined hands. Miley noticed what Mallory was looking at and said, "Oh, Mallory, Lilly and I just started dating."

"Oh, I thought you two were just best friend," Mallory said with a surprising tone in her voice.

"We were. Like I said, we've been best friends since we were in fifth grade but we've had feeling for each other for years that we didn't admit until a week ago." When Miley noticed the look on Mallory's face she said, "That's not a problem, is it?"

Mallory snapped out of the trance she was in and smiled. "No, that's not a problem at all. I just didn't realize you were a lesbian."

Miley let out a nervous laugh as she said, "Neither did I and I don't even know if I am a lesbian or bisexual. The only girl I've ever had feelings for was Lilly."

"Yeap, same here," Lilly chimed in, "I actually was dating a guy right before Miley and I confessed our feelings."

"Oh, I see," Mallory said with an unreadable expression on her face.

"Is it a problem," Miley asked, not really knowing how to read Mallory's face.

"No not at all," Mallory said as she started to smile, "I guess I just wasn't expecting that."

"Good, I really don't care if it is a problem or not," Miley said. She got a light kick under the table and a glare from Lilly for her answer.

"Oww, what was that for?" Miley asked as she bent down to rub her leg. It really didn't hurt, it was just the shock.

"Miley, be nice," Lilly said through gritted teeth which got a laugh from Mallory.

"I just meant that if people don't like us being together then they don't have to be friends with us because I'm definitely not going to break up with you because someone decides they don't like our relationship," Miley said as she returned Lilly's glare.

Mallory decided that it was her time to jump in. "Oh don't worry about it. I knew what you meant Miley. I wouldn't really care if it was a problem for other people either. It's your life."

"Thank you," Miley said with a smile on her face.

Miley turned to Lilly and pouted and playfully said, "You kicked me."

"Oh, I didn't kick you that hard," Lilly said in a teasing voice. She never did fall for that fake pout of Miley's.

Miley rolled her eyes but then smiled lovingly at Lilly. Miley and Lilly were in their own little world with each other that had started ever since they got together. Mallory took the hint that it was probably time to leave the two lovers alone and said, "Well, I'll see you two later."

"Ok, bye Mallory," Miley said looking away from Lilly and smiled.

"Bye, see you later," Lilly said.

Miley turned back to look at Lilly as Mallory walked off. "Hey Lils?" Miley said as Lilly looked back at her. She was thinking about being friends with Mallory. She wasn't sure, she would keep her guard up but still be friends with her.

"I was just thinking. I think I will befriend Mallory again. She seems nice but I'm not a going to let my guard down completely," Miley said.

"If that's what you think is best Miles then I'm not going to stop you but the second she is mean to you, I will make her regret it," Lilly said as her voice lowered at the last part. She didn't tolerate anyone being mean to her Miley.

Miley laughed as she said, "I wouldn't expect any differently."

After a while of sitting at the table talking, they went back up to their dorm room. Miley laid down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling while Lilly brushed her teeth. She remembered the first time Lilly had told her that college would be the best four years of their lives. She didn't realize how true it would be though. She never was the type of person that didn't think education was important because it was but to be going to school and fall in love with your best friend. Those were very important in her book. She thought back to earlier when they had made love. A smile grew on her face as she closed her eyes reliving the memory in her mind. Soon she heard Lilly come out of the bathroom and climb under the covers next to her.

"What are you smiling about?" Lilly said as she smiled at the happy expression on her best friends face.

"I'm just thinking about earlier," Miley said as she opened her eyes to see Lilly looking down at her. Lilly smiled as she curled up into Miley's side and laid her head on Miley's chest.

"It was really nice, sharing that first experience with you," Lilly smiled as she said, "I'm so glad you came back from Paris." She almost felt guilty about Miley leaving a dream movie in Paris to come to college with her but at the same time, she knew that if Miley hadn't come back, she would be miserable.

"I would do it again in a heartbeat," Miley said as she hugged Lilly to her.

"I know," Lilly said as she lifted her head off of Miley's chest and gave her a slow kiss. After a few minutes of kissing, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

The next morning the sound of the alarm clock broke through the darkness of the room. Now it was six o'clock in the morning and they really did have to get up for their class at eight o'clock. Lilly hit the snooze button on the alarm clock as she pulled the quilt back over her head. Miley snuggled closer into Lilly's back as their alarm clock allowed them another five minutes to sleep until it would go off again. When it did, Miley lifted reached over Lilly to turn the annoying alarm clock off. After she did that, she stretched and then went to the task of waking Lilly. She pulled down the covers slowly to reveal Lilly's sleeping face. She smiled as she bent down and placed a kiss on Lilly's nose and laughed when she watched Lilly's nose crinkle.

"Come on sleepyhead, it's time to wake up. We have that class at eight this morning remember?" Miley said as she ran her hand through Lilly's hair.

Lilly slowly opened her eyes and said, "What were we thinking when we chose a class that early?"

"It was the only time that world history course was offered, now come on, get up." Miley said as she pulled the covers off of both of them and threw Lilly's bath robe on top of her. There were other history courses available but they were American history courses and while they did enjoy American history, that's all they had heard about all throughout high school so they wanted to take something different, even if it meant getting up really early.

After they got ready they went down and had breakfast then headed to their class. Lilly sat up front with Miley sitting next to her. There weren't many people there yet, just two girls, one blonde and the other a brunette, and one brown haired boy. They seemed friendly so Lilly turned around and decided to introduce themselves. She was always the outgoing of the two while Miley waited for the people to approach her. She smiled at them and said, "Hi, my name is Lilly and this is my best friend Miley. What are your names?"

"My name is Destiny," the brunette said as she returned the smile, "and these are my friends Emily and Mitchel." Emily and Mitchel both smiled and said hi.

Miley couldn't help but notice the similarities between the three friends and her, Lilly, and Oliver. She smiled and said, "This is our first semester here. Are ya'll freshmen too?"

Emily shook her head and said, "No we are sophomores. Destiny and I took American history with this professor last year."

"Yeah, he was crazy," Destiny cut in, "Nice but crazy. He's very approachable though so you never have to hesitate going up to him and asking him something."

"Are his tests hard?" Miley asked. She knew she was definitely not a test taker. She always did okay in high school but she heard about how hard college tests could be.

"It depends. They aren't easy by any means but if you pay attention in class and write everything he writes on the board then you should be ok," Emily said. "He writes the name of the topics on the board the way they are written in the book and those are the sections that you have to focus on for the test."

"What if you don't write down what's on the board," Mitchel asked, "I may not want to write everything down on the board."

"Then you will fail, have to drop the class, and you will cry," Destiny cut in. The five of them died laughing.

"I'm going to take it as we better write everything on the board," Lilly said as her laughter died down.

"That would be smart," Emily said as people started walking into class. A few seconds later the professor walked into class. He was a tall bald headed man and was dressed very nicely in a suit. Lilly could hear Destiny whisper to Emily, "Look, he is wearing his typical suits he wears to class every day. I bet you twenty bucks he will dress casually this semester." Lilly couldn't help but laugh. She didn't know how she knew but she knew that the five of them would be great friends.

The professor wrote, Mr. Schwartz World History, on the board then he turned around and started passing out the syllabus for the class. "Good Morning class. My name is Mr. Schwartz."

The class went by pretty quickly. It was basically going over the syllabus and the research paper that was due by the end of the semester. Miley and Lilly both thought that the professor was pretty funny and could tell that they would enjoy his class which was good considering that it was so early in the morning.

When class was over Miley and Lilly got their things together and looked at their schedules to see where they were supposed to go next.

"Ready for communication class Miles?" Lilly asked as they grabbed their book and began to stand up.

"Oh, do you two have communication class with Mr. Collins after this?" Destiny asked.

"Yes, we do." Miley said as she threw her backpack over her shoulder.

"So do Emily and I. Come on, we can walk there together. Mitchel has physics after this," Destiny said with a welcoming smile on her face.

"Yeah, you guys are lucky. I hate physics but it was either that or chemistry," Mitchel said with a look of dread on his face as he left. The four girls went out after them and headed over to class. "So have you two had this professor before?" Lilly asked wanting to figure out if this professor was any good.

"Nope but we have heard that he's good, he just thinks he's some kind of guru. In this class you have to speak in front of the class a lot I heard," Emily said.

"I hate public speaking," Miley said, receiving strange looks from Emily and Destiny.

"You were Hannah Montana, how on earth can you hate public speaking?" Emily asked.

"That's different. I'm speaking in front of large crowds so I can't see their faces. When it's small like in a classroom environment and I can see their faces, that's when I get nervous."

"That's true," Lilly chimed in, "back in fifth grade, we had to present our history projects to the class and I wound up doing all the talking because Miley forgot everything we had done. Then the professor asked her a question about what we had learned and she froze. She also tripped over her crush's backpack as we were going to sit back down," Lilly said with a chuckle.

"Hey that was embarrassing for me," Miley said with a playful glare, "that guy never spoke to me again though."

Destiny and Emily laughed as they arrived to the building their class was in. Miley looked around and noticed people sitting on benches studying. Then when they went inside the building, she found more people studying. It seemed like every corner she turned there were people studying. She never saw people studying so much, except for the time she and Lilly had to study for their SAT's. She hated those days of pulling all-nighters to cram for that test. The only thing that made it livable was the fact that she was with Lilly.

They walked into the classroom and noticed that the teacher was already there. Miley and Lilly sat next to each other in the front row again while Destiny and Emily sat behind them. Lilly glanced at the clock and noticed that they made it just in time for class. The professor adjusted his glasses and smoothed out his gray hair that had hints of black in it. He stood in front of the class and held a black ballpoint pen in his hand.

"Good Morning class." He held out his arms while the class said good morning.

"This is Speech Communication class, I am Mr. Collins and I welcome you to this class. My first question is, what is this?" He asked as he held up the pen.

"A pen?" Someone said in the back of the room. The rest of the class laughed as a huge smile came upon his face.

"Yes, but not just any pen. It's a ballpoint pen. I can click it and ink will come out. It will write anything and is very powerful because it always shows up. It has a point, everything you say, has a point. Speech is exactly like a ballpoint pen."

Miley and Lilly both wondered where they were. They heard Destiny mumble something about the Twilight Zone as they continued to listen.

"In this class, if you just show up every day we will have fun. We will talk and every class you will stand up and speak. If you just show up, like this pen, you will hold powers no one can imagine." He proceeded to put down his pen and hand out the syllabus. "Class, I will trust you to read this syllabus since I assume you all can read. Now in case you are wondering, we will be speaking today. You will turn to someone you have never met before and ask questions to get to know them then you will introduce this person to the class and tell the class about this person. Find someone now."

Miley turned around and partnered with Destiny as Lilly turned around and partnered with Emily. They asked each other the typical questions like what's your major and where are you from. When the professor cleared his throat signaling that time was up, the class turned to look at the front.

"Are there any volunteers willing to go first?"

A couple of kids in the back decided to go up. Miley decided that when she went up she would focus her attention on Lilly and pretend she was just talking to Lilly. She decided that that was just how she would get through the class in general.

Lilly and Emily were the second to the last to go up with the last being Miley and Destiny. Lilly learned that Emily and Destiny were both from San Francisco, California and Emily and Destiny were both majoring in Psychology. After Lilly and Emily sat down, Miley took a deep breath and went to the front of the class with Destiny. Luckily her plan of just focusing on Lilly worked since the whole class seemed to disappear when she focused on her Lilly.

After class, Destiny and Emily went to their next class as Miley and Emily went to go get some lunch.

"They seemed like nice girls," Miley said as they made their way to the dining hall.

"Yes, they did. I could see us being friends with them."

They ate their lunch and then went back up to their dorm since they had a lot of homework that they hadn't even started yet. After they finished their homework, they cuddled in bed with Lilly's head on Miley's shoulder.

"How have you liked the first couple of days of classes Miles?"

"I've enjoyed it. Our speech professor is kind of strange though."

"Yeah, he is and don't think I didn't notice you staring at me while you were giving your speech," Lilly said teasingly.

Miley blushed as she said, "Get used to it. I'm going to be doing that every time I have to get up there. If I just focus on you and pretend I'm talking to you, the whole world seems to disappear."

Lilly hugged Miley to her and said, "I feel the same way about you Miles. So was I right about this being the best four years of our life?"

"As long as I'm with you Lils, then yes, this will be the best four years of our lives." Miley said with a smile on her face.

Lilly moved so that she was laying on top of Miley, "What if I want to be with you forever?"

"Then this will be the best life ever," Miley said as she pulled Lilly down for a long kiss.

Author's Note: I hope ya'll enjoyed that. It wasn't my favorite chapter since I focused more on their classes but it was crucial for the story so that people could understand what they are taking and what the professors are like. Destiny and Emily will be major characters. Mallory will also be a major character but unresolved issues between her and Miley will pop up. The rest of the episodes won't really go into their classes unless it's important to the story. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the story and the next episode in the series will be posted soon. I will label it as episode two on my profile so when you go to my stories, you can go straight to it. Please review and feel free to PM me :)
