I apologize for not posting last night. I had writer's block and nothing was coming to me. Luckily, I had some time to think about it before I went to sleep last night and when I went for a walk. Anyways as you can see, we're at the good part here. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. If I did, we all know we wouldn't have to wait until August for the new season.
"I think she's waking up!" I heard a voice say as I started to wake up from fainting.
"Ok, I'm fully conscious." I said. "Or, at least I think I am." I groaned a bit as I struggled to sit up on the desk that they'd laid me on.
"Take it easy." The Doctor said, as he, along with Mark and Casey helped me up.
"You ok, now? You're not gonna go fainting on us again, right?" Mark said, jokingly.
"No. That was a one time thing." I said, glaring at him. I was not in the mood for jokes right now.
He shrugged. "Just checking. Anyways, now that Jules is conscious, can we talk about what exactly that thing does?" He asked, pointing to the thing in the supply closet that The Doctor called a transporter, whatever that meant.
The Doctor walked over to it and examined it. "Weell," he said, "Basically it can send someone through to another places by sending specialized electrical currents." He turned around and grinned, seeing all of us staring at him.
"Wha- I mean, you're saying that this is what caused the students to disappear? Mr. Atkins didn't just take them away in his car or have an accomplice?" I asked incredulously.
"Ahh, well you're right about one thing. He certainly didn't work alone." The Doctor said, returning to the transporter. We watched him examine it again, mumbling nonsense words to himself. It sounded like he was talking about other species, but to me, that didn't make any sense. The only species that I knew of were animals, plants, and humans. I stared at Mark and Casey.
"Who is this guy?" I whispered.
"Someone who's an enthusiastic about science?" Casey guessed.
"Maybe a little bit too much." Mark said
We turned back to see him moving the tip of his sonic screwdriver up and down and looking at it. Then suddenly...
"Of course!" He yelled. "Oi! I'm so thick sometimes!" He bolted out of the room, with us following close behind.
"Wait!" I yelled, as we ran to catch up with him. "What did you find out and where are we going?!"
We finally ended up at the same police box we'd seen earlier.
"Uh, what exactly are we doing here?" Casey asked The Doctor, clearly as confused as I was.
The Doctor didn't answer, as he opened the doors and walked in.
We were staring for a while, trying to comprehend why he would just walk in there and why it was even there, when he poked his head out.
"Oi! You three! Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to come in?"
"But how are we going to all fit in there? It's so tiny." I said as we all started walking towards it.
"I still don't see why we're even going in here and how we're going to all fit in there." I whispered as we walked in.
"I mean, unless we're hiding from something we don't see." Mark whispered to us. "But that still doesn't explain why..." Mark never got to finish his sentence because of what happened when we walked in. We all walked in, expecting to be squished, but we weren't even close to getting squished. Not by a long shot. The Doctor looked up and grinned.
"Well?" He asked,
"How? Wha?" I was too overwhelmed by the size of it to even complete my words. "It's, It's bigger on the inside!"
"But how is that even possible?" Casey asked, staring around at it. "I mean, it's a police box!"
We were too shocked to walk around, but we could see quite clearly. The interior was huge. There seemed to be some type of console in the middle, with a few chair around that and what seemed to be a computer. When I leaned against the wall, it sounded like it was humming, almost like it was alive.
"Weelll, it's not exactly a police box. It just disguised itself like that." The Doctor said, walking around the console and near the computer.
"Ok. So if it's not a police box, what is it?" Mark asked, answering the question we all had.
"It's called a TARDIS."
"Say what now?" I asked, clearly not hearing him correctly.
"TARDIS." He repeated. "Time And Relative Dimension In Space."
"Wait... hang on. So you're telling us, this thing is a spaceship?!" Casey asked him, staring.
"Yup!" He said, popping the p. "It can travel anywhere through space and time."
"Right." I laughed. "Because that would mean that you'd have to be some type of time traveler or alien or time traveling alien or something."
"Well you're right on all counts." He said with a straight face. I stopped laughing. I felt like I was about to shut down. Everything about this just logically didn't seem right.
"Wait wait. You mean to tell us that you're an alien from outer space who just happens to travel through time and to other places?" Mark asked, shaking his head.
"Yup." The Doctor said
"But you look human" Casey said.
"Well, you three look Time Lord." He retorted. Seeing our confused expressions, he continued. "I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey."
At this point, I was starting to lose all control of what I thought was real and not real.
