Love always

Less than an hour later Hermione Sirius and Remus found themselves in separate counseling offices in the marriage and blood status division of the Ministry undergoing a barrage of questions.

"Ms. Granger are you aware that the two men you are petitioning to form a relationship with are both twenty years your senior?" The official asked, barely concealing the tone of disapproval in her voice.

Hermione took a deep breath and willed herself to keep her temper. "Yes I am aware of that fact Mrs. Coleman. I am also familiar with the details of one being falsely accused of a crime and later being cleared of that after I saved him from the veil. And while we are on the train of things I am aware of I am also mindful of the fact that I met the other while he was teaching at my school six years ago when people were still against having a werewolf teach." She huffed, getting thoroughly annoyed with the Ministry's line of questioning.

The worker looked shocked, you could almost see the desire to question this young girl wanting to be with these two men if there was that much against them. Before she could continue asking questions Hermione continued her tirade. "And none of those details have any bearing on the fact that I am attracted to both of them and wish to start a relationship with them. Aside from monitoring the power levels I do not see why it is any of the Ministry's business what my relationship entails."

"Fine then. What are your intentions with these two men seeing as you are a year out of school and have been unemployed that entire time?" Mrs. Coleman asked, unable to keep the scorn out of her voice this time.

"I took a year off to settle my parents estate and prepare myself to start teaching at Hogwarts. Professor McGonagall offered me the position the day I graduated but I knew I needed time alone to process the weight of everything that happened in my fifth and sixth years. I'm sorry if that doesn't sit well with you but it was my choice and my well being at stake." Hermione said, her voice level but icy cold. "And as for what my intentions are I intend to complete my first year of teaching while courting both men. I intend to figure out every one of their quirks and how I can learn to live with them. Is that good enough for you?" She finished with a huff, acid dripping off her voice.

Mrs. Coleman gave her an indecipherable look before she made some notes on her parchment. "Well that will do with your interview. You may wait in the front of the office while we complete the others."

Hermione nodded and stood and made her way out of the office, still silently fuming to herself. Some things never changed, apparently the Ministry's in ability to keep their employees opinions out of their work was one of them.

Meanwhile in the office next door Remus was getting the gentle end of the stick in comparison. The only mark against him was him being a werewolf, which was no longer something the Ministry could hold against him thanks to legislation Harry and Hermione had helped push through last year.

"Well Mr. Lupin while I do find it odd that you are interested in a woman who is so much your junior I can see your reasoning is sound and you are truly interested in her, not the fame and fortune that come with being attached to one so famous for their deeds in the war. Before I let you go I have one more question however." Mr. Savage said with a slight smile.

Remus nodded silently. His interview had gone well so far but that didn't mean it would continue to do so. He had been questioned about his non existent relations with Hermione while she was at school and whether he had considered all the ramifications of dating the heroine of the war which he had. It seemed it was still impossible for the Ministry to just focus on their job and not the gossip that was so prevalent in the wizarding world.

"Where does Mr. Black fit into this? Had you been considering finding a witch to share and she just happened to be there? Or is he just another pawn to further fortunes for all involved?" The older wizard inquired.

Remus tensed slightly, he should have known a question like this would be coming. "Mr. Black and myself actually split for nearly a year when it came to light that we both fancied Ms. Granger. By the end of her seventh year at Hogwarts we had realized that sharing her would be much better than fighting over her so we started trying to find a way to share her. It was only a couple days ago that we came across a book talking about triad bonding in the Black family library and decided that would be the path we took. Money and fame had never come into question and never will. After all there is far more to Ms. Granger than just her fame."

"Thank you for your honesty Mr. Lupin. You may wait in the front of the office while I confer with the other interviewers." Mr. Savage said, the small smile back in place as he nodded to the door.

Remus smiled and thanked the man for his time before making his way out of the office. He had barely had time to sit next to Hermione and take her hand before Sirius came out of the third shut office and flopped in the chair on Hermione's other side.

"Well that was interesting to say the least." He muttered with a huff. "They actually questioned if I had had 'relations' with Hermione before she finished school!"

Remus laughed. "I got asked basically the same thing in a more roundabout way. Though they seemed more interested in why a poor werewolf like myself would be interested in two extremely rich war hero's if not for their money."

Hermione just growled in response. "I got asked if I was marrying you so I wouldn't have to work. My interviewer actually brought up the fact that I had taken the last year off!"

Remus and Sirius glanced at each other over Hermione's head before they both let out a burst of laughter.

"Well you can always count on the Ministry to be right asses and stick their noses where they don't belong!" Remus said still chuckling to himself as he shook his head.

Right then the wizard who had done Remus's interview came out. "May I see Mr. Lupin, Mr. Black, and Ms. Granger in my office please!" He called out before stepping back into the room he had come out of.

The three of them looked at each other and took deep breaths before standing as one and starting across the office hand in hand, Hermione in the middle. Just before they got to the door Hermione tugged on their hands to stop them.

Remus turned to look at her as Sirius moved closer. "What is it 'Mione?"

"Everything okay love?" Sirius echoed, essentially finishing Remus's sentence.

"Everything is fine. I'm just suddenly nervous to go in there and find out their verdict. What if they say no? What happens to us? What do we do about this?" Hermione prattled off.

"Then we let you decide who you want to be with and the other bows out as gracefully as they can." Sirius said quietly, letting his reasonable side out for a change. "We will make this work Hermione. We've been fighting for it too long not to."

Remus looked momentarily stunned at the wise words coming out of his best friends mouth before he smiled softly and placed a kiss on Hermione's forehead. "I don't think they will say no. They have no reason to."

Hermione looked at them as she blinked away tears. This had been an emotional few days and it was finally catching up to her. She placed a gentle kiss on Sirius's lips first then turned and gave one to Remus. "You're right, both of you. I'm just so happy and happy never seems to last in my life."

"Hermione listen to me; we will both do everything in our power to make this work." Remus said as he hugged her tightly to him, lifting one arm he brought Sirius into the hug as well. After a minute of pulling strength from one another he pulled away and smiled at the two of them. "Now are you ready to go find out the good news?"

Hermione nodded quietly and gave them both one more squeeze before pulling away. "Lets get this over with shall we?"

Sirius nodded and reached out to pull open the door. "Yes lets so we can go home and resume this mornings activities." He said with a sly wink as he ushered both of them into the office to receive the news.
