Read and review pretty please.
She stood there for what seemed like hours. Where in the hell had that come from. She had been standing there then suddenly she had been spun around to find that someone was kissing her, what made it stranger was the fact that this person was a dwarf king in whom she was sure would never talk to her again. Then there was the fact that he the dwarf king kissed her, she had in no way seen it coming. And it was all sudden that she didn't know what she should feel at this moment.
She had at some point found herself back inside the house sitting around all of the rest of the people that were there besides the dwarf she was thinking about and her.
"Nelly what is it that has got you so distracted? It is entirely unlike you." Gandalf sat there looking at her assessing what it was that might be wrong. Of course though he could find nothing except a really stupid grin that hadn't moved much since she had come back in.
"Umm can't tell you please don't ask." That was the only thing they could get out of her, mostly because at that moment she had gone to get her violin. Coming back in she tuned that poor thing, and from there started playing songs she knew. Any conversation that had been occurring at that moment quickly stopped. All listened to her as she played song after song. Making sure that they were distracted enough to hopefully forget her odd behavior. She really didn't want them asking questions.
Finally having decided to be done for a little bit she put it down only to hear the applause from her audience of friends. They were all quite pleased, now to see if they were distracted.
"Well I have never heard those songs but I find them to quite enjoyable. And I would love to hear more of them at some point in your stay." Their host looked enthralled with the music. And was for sure having a good time. They had all gathered around the table for dinner, there were those few curious stares that she knew would be questioning.
"So Nelly what is it that has had you so distracted today." It was Kili she should have known those two would do something like that now the trick was to get them to let it go.
"Well see I have a problem. There are a select few in life that have been giving me trouble," at that she looked at both Fili and Kili, "well to keep a long story short I was wondering how I could get revenge. It's simple though I think if I take a similar situation like this that I had with some of my cousins and took the solution to that problem and used it for the new problem." She continued eating, not a worry in the world. Some of the dwarves were looking at her like she had just come from a new place entirely and was not the same Nelly they had grown to know and love, for some in more ways than others, others were laughing. And both Fili and Kili looked afraid.
"Now why would ya want to be doin that lass?" again it was Dwalin but he had a devious look on his face as he spoke and knew that he was starting to put some pieces together.
"Because with some things I will not tolerate. Mostly when I have certain people prying into things that I believe at this point has nothing to do with them. And I felt the need to tell someone I would. I trust you all but I'm not one of those people who go around telling the world every little thing that happens to me. Besides its bothering the select few that I want to bother." Again she smiled one of those smiles and continued eating. There was little conversation for a while, everyone was thinking on the new and interesting Nelly. She again had surprised them with her sudden comment.
After dinner they had decided that the next day was when they would leave. Mostly to get away from the orcs that were hunting them. And when they had all gone to bed, there were some who did not get any sleep with the fear of what might happen. And it wasn't the danger of the journey that scared them. Most of the dwarves fell asleep to the sound of a violin playing its lullaby ever so softly.
The next morning everyone had packed their belongings and were ready to go, they were to take the ponies all the way to the edge of Mirkwood before they would continue on foot. And their journey there was uneventful but quick. And all the while the dwarves were starting to see differences in a select couple. But it was more of a good friendship that had started.
Upon entering Mirkwood Nelly found that she immediately hated this place. She wasn't ever one to be afraid of the dark and in fact because of how shy she normally was she most of the time enjoyed the dark. But this place was something completely different. Something she hoped to never have to deal with again. The only problem was the fact that she had to deal with it now. So with her eyesight still trying to readjust she stumbled behind hoping she wouldn't fall on her face. Of course though that wasn't her biggest problem.
"So what might it be lass that had you so distracted while at Beorn's? It's quite unlike you." Spoke Fili. Of course she had known this was going to happen.
"Did it have to do with something uncle did?" it was Kili this time. She figured that they would be relentless but she needed to put a stop to it now.
"You know you two are worse than the girls I went to school with. They gossiped all the time and always in others business. The only problem with the description is, well, you're not girls. Then again there could be something that you're not telling us." She could tell they were staring at her now, and up a little ways she could hear Dwalin laughing. But she figured that that comment wasn't going to stop them anytime soon. It just made them think even more.
Before long they all stopped for a short rest and were doing their best to not suffocate. There was no breeze and for nelly never having to deal with anything such as this was finding it most difficult right along with Bilbo. They started moving again and didn't stop until it was time to sleep. The thing was they all got little sleep. They all felt as though something were watching them. They could all feel it within themselves. This place that they had come to was not a normal place.
They followed the trail for some time until Nori realized something that none of them wanted to know about. They had lost the trail. They had been warned that that would only be a disastrous circumstance. They looked everywhere and Nelly could do nothing but wonder why in the world Gandalf had sent her on this damned quest. Bilbo had by that point started climbing a tree to see which way was out. And then she heard something, it wasn't loud but it was there. Being slightly confused about all of her surroundings, she took a step backwards and in doing so grabbed a tree branch, at least it was a tree branch until it moved by its own will.
That's when she slowly turned around, to face whatever it was that had moved, only to see a massive spider. What made it worse was behind that spider there was two more. She didn't even have time to scream as the spider grabbed her and started binding her in the web. And then she felt a piercing pain in her left thigh, the spider had bitten her and injected some of the poison. It wasn't enough to kill her just enough to keep her from struggling. So here the dwarves and Nelly were hanging in trees covered in webbing, life just couldn't get any better now could it.
And then she felt the sensation of going down, almost like on elevators. When she hit the ground she was aware of someone pulling the webbing away from her face. And then there was light, followed by both Fili and Kili.
"Nelly I think that you owe me and my brother an explanation." Came Fili's voice.
"Over my dead body." Was Nelly's reply. And with that she was standing, though she favored her left leg a bit. And then the spiders came, they were fast and dead set on getting their dinner back. The dwarves all started slashing and hacking at the spiders, Nelly stood to the side giving deadly kills to the spiders that tried to sneak up behind the others. All in all they were doing rather well.
And then came an elf, and another and another, and so on and so forth.
"Lay down the bow girl." Came a demanding voice from behind. Nelly did as told, and then she felt the bow ripped from her hands. And that's when she slightly lost a bit of her temper.
"I did as you asked but I ask you to return what is rightfully mine this instant." She demanded.
"I don't think I will, you and the dwarves are trespassing." Said the elf she had just yelled at.
"Oh you're cute, if you all had the path marked as any normal person would maybe we wouldn't have the chance to meet under the lovely smell of foul spider guts." The venom and sarcasm evident enough.
"And what are you implying that we are inept?" The elf asked.
"Hey you said it not me. Now can I have the bow back it was my great grandfathers. It is kind of a family heir loom you know."
"No. Now go with the rest of the dwarves. Before you irritate me further."
"Yes Mr. Elf. Hope you have a good day; maybe you should be promoted to the ranks of pure annoying. Probably might get some arrows to go with that bow." She said with a smirk, she was irritating him just fine.
"Why you…" as he said this he went to grab her shoulder, to spin her around.
"Thalion, enough. She is a lady." Spoke a blond elf.
"Right I am a lady, where is my manners nice to meet you Thalion. Can I please have the bow back?" Nelly said in chorus to what the blond elf said.
"No. Stop asking." Replied Thalion.
"Yup its official I don't like you." And with that she turned around and walked up to the dwarves. Every elf that had heard the whole exchange of words were just doing their best to hide the mirth. It was rather difficult because it had been so odd. And with that the dwarves and Nelly were marched from their location to the Elven kings palace.
Decided that this needed to end on this note. I have a bit of inspiration, but I am still struggling. And comments would be wonderful. By the way please comment, know that you like it something along those lines pleases me, and if you don't like it tell me why. Hope you enjoyed thanks for reading. :)
