Any way…On tah deh storay…

Previously on Bitten…

Rogue cursed once more and stalked off to school as it would soon start. Guess it'll be the perfect time to separate them.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"That was weird."

Gray nodded as he laughed and led Lucy into the courtyard of the school with an arm along her shoulders keeping the blonde rather close to his body.

"Yeah, probably the weirdest encounter my family has ever had with a girl."

Lucy giggled but froze at the feeling of wolfish eyes on her. Gray jolted backward at her statue-like features. "Lu, what's wrong?"

"Rogue..." she growled, startling Gray.

"What?"

"Lucy! Baby! I haven't seen you in a while. Laxus has been pulling my leg to take you out on another date, you know treat you nice." Rogue gave a quick hug and peck on Lucy's cheek before she could attack him for taking advantage of the situation as Gray peeled himself away from the blonde with hurt eyes, "Fullbuster, don't go stealing my girl." Rogue winked and jogged off as if he would be late otherwise. Gone just as quickly as he had arrived.

"Baby? Date? Don't go stealing my girl?" Lucy glared at the back of Rogue's head ignoring Gray's questioning stare. "You're dating him but making out with me in my bed half naked? What the h*ll Lucy?"

"I'm not dating him."

"Just f*cking on your fake dates then?"

"No. Gray. He's being a d*ck. Why are you so upset?" Lucy furrowed her brows and turned to face the attractive teen to her side.

He growled and shook his head. "I don't know. I-I need to get to class, I'll call you."

Lucy watched him leave, "I don't have a phone, and you know that you pri-"Lucy stopped shouting as she clenched her small fists and turned to the proper hallway before she drew too much attention to herself.

XxXxXxXx

Fifth hour's dismissal bell rung informing students that it was time for lunch. Lucy slowly walked through the hallway and tossed her books into her locker followed by her binder. She locked it and pivoted ignoring Gajeel's existence as he began kicking his locker door closed due to the mass amount of mess in his cubbyhole. It's been roughly 5 hours since their (Lucy and Gray's) small fight. The blonde fell into step behind all the students clutching a red and white pill within her grasp before choking it down to fight her thirst. A certain emo looking teen snuck into the crowd to go to lunch quickly but not fast enough for Lucy who tore him from the swarm of people and threw him into the nearest locker, attracting very little attention as all others had already left.

"Rogue! What the f*ck!" Lucy used her strong hands to pin him up by his shoulders. Rogue smirked and stared into her eyes in defiance.

"You were not getting the mission done. He's a distraction."

Lucy growled and pushed her weight into his making him wince.

"You're rather strong," Rogue sucked in a breath, "It's a shame that you're not using it on the victim."

"Tell me why the council wants him."

Lucy barked, unaffected by his soft eyes and handsome features.

"Your guess is as good as mine, it doesn't matter anyway you must complete this mission to become a real vampire." Rogue gazed at her mouth then back to her brown eyes. "Your face is really close; you might want to back away if you don't want me to kiss those beautiful pink lips of yours."

Lucy snarled and dug her nails into his shoulders.

"Not good enough reason to let me go? Well Victim is staring at us."

Lucy let go instantly and twisted around to see Gray being held back by his friends' sympathetic eyes and strong deterring grip.

"Couldn't wait long enough until you sneak into his bed in the middle of the night and hide from his parents in the morning to only get caught." Gray sneered walking past the neighboring lockers.

Lucy glared as his friends pushed him harder away from her. The pretty blonde shoved Rogue away from her body and stomped over to Gray, ripping him from his unsuspecting friends disregarding the cursing Rogue who stalked off in the shadows. She was never one to take abuse from anyone.

"Listen here Fullbuster," The boys behind him stepped back several feet at her scowl, "You've been acting off lately. I'm not doing anything with that d*uche and even if I was you have no right to be upset."

"No right?" Gray leaned forward, anger seeping from his core, "No right? We've been practically dating well with all the making out, visits at my home, and that introduction to my family. Lucy. I have all the right."

Lucy sighed loudly and pushed him gently at his raising voice.

"D*mmit, don't think more of our arrangement, I'm just using you."

"Not anymore, you're too involved to be just using me."

Lucy growled once more at the sudden urge to kiss him and prove to him that there would be nothing in the kiss, no spark, no fireworks.

"Gray."

"Lucy," He countered.

The blonde cursed once more before crashing her lips against his in an aggressive manner. Lucy jolted back before Gray could understand what was going on; she was panting at a sharp tingling sensation on her mouth, a spark. Gray searched her shocked eyes and blushing face.

"What the h*ll was that?" He softly asked, his stronger emotions nullified his anger as confusion and hope set in.

"I don't kn-"

Gray interrupted with a much more tender reconcile of their lips. Lucy melted into his hold as he began to back her up against the lockers. He deepened the kiss with the use of his tongue and slowly adjusted his knee to comfortably support Lucy's body as he kissed her fiercer and she reciprocated the action with the biting and tugging of his lower lip showing her sultry nature.

"Ahem?" A boy behind them with bright orange hair thrown in a ponytail cleared his throat. Gray shifted his body to hold the attractive blonde with one arm while the other hand waved off his friends in a dismissive method. A strawberry blonde laughed and shoved away the others after he fine-tuned his blue tinted glasses and saying, "Get it Gray" with a smirk.

Gray tugged her from the wall, his lips still connected with hers as he wrapped his arms around Lucy's waist. He lightly set her on the ground and both allowed each other a break. Lucy caught her breath easily and dropped to the ground whilst Gray continued to pant heavily as he sat next to her.

"You ok?"

"I'm sorry…about Rogue, about using you, about shouting." About the fact that I have to kill you to become a true vampire.

Gray sighed and pulled her into his lap. "I'm sorry too. I was being a jealous jerk and we aren't even dating."

"Practically dating though."

Gray chuckled at her words sadly, "Yeah sorry that I kind of screamed our more intimate encounters…"

Lucy buried her head in Gray's shoulder and let out a string of unladylike curses.

"What."

"We can't work. I shouldn't be practically dating you."

Gray ruffled his spiky locks and held her closer to him. "How about really dating?"

Lucy pulled away and looked into his midnight blue eyes that she found herself loving.

"Gray, have you not been listening? No. W-we, I-I can't be in a relationship with you."

"Why can't you?"

"What's the date?"

"Ummmm…the 26th I think. Why?"

"I have to kill you in 6 days."

"W-what?"

"The vampire council needs you dead for whatever reason and I'm the one assigned to take you out. My brother and Rogue are trying to help with the task."

Lucy crawled away from his grasp and wrapped her arms around her legs and hid her sad face.

"W-we can't do this."

"…"

"Gray?"

Lucy peeked to see Gray gone from his spot.

"Gray."

She let out a breath and stood, smoothing down her skirt. She checked the time on the clock above the lockers, 20 minutes until lunch was over, just enough time to grab whatever they had left to eat in solitude. She began walking through the hall with her eyes screwed shut so no tears were able to fall. Lucy paused as a chill crawled down her spine, something was off. A scream came from the opposite side of the building. Gray. Without much though Lucy pulled the ring from her finger and left it on the ground as she sprinted down the hallways. She skidded to a stop in front of the janitor's office/ boiler room door. She shot a hand to the door knob. It was locked, of course it was. Lucy stormed in using her shoulder to break the door frame with her trained strength. The deep throaty shouts were louder now.

Lucy ran past steaming pipes and mops scattered on the floors she stumbled upon another door as she followed Gray's cries. She slammed her way through, her eyes widening at the sight before her.

A dark brown almost black werewolf hovered over Gray's shaking form that was clutching his neck in agony. Lucy lunged forward and grabbed Rogue by his scruff and tossed him aside successfully earning a yelp as his body crashed into the concrete wall then tiled floors.

"Gray!" She kneeled and groaned as her fangs struck her lower lip at the sight of all the blood regardless of the pill she had took earlier. "Move your hands."

Lucy watched as he let go and his eyes slid shut. The blonde darted forward, "No. L-Lucy don't h-heal him!" and licked the bite wound despite Rogue who shifted into human form once more and launched himself onto her. Rogue stared in horror as the bite knitted together rapidly. "Do you know what you just did!?" Rogue latched onto Lucy's shoulders and shook her viciously. "You've created a hybrid! We were so close to finishing the mission!" He fell back and balled himself up as he groaned at the injuries he earned himself. Lucy's eyes widened and dropped to her feet and wiped the blood roughly from her lips in disgust. Gray opened his eyes and backed into the corner as if he was a frightened animal. His eyes began darting back and forth between Rogue and the door, not noticing Lucy's presence that is until she squeaked staring at his orbs; his orbs…that were no longer their beautiful blue hue but an intense yellow peeking past dilated pupils staring into hers.
