Crystal Tokyo Shorts: The Love Triangle of Venus
Chapter Eight – A Little While Longer
Characters – V&A
by Vchanny
General disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this story.
AN: So, I have decided to take a semi-direction with this story. If it isn't obvious, I'm totally V&K eccentric. I always have been, and I always will be. But, it's not fair to always write Adonis/Ace the guy who doesn't stand a chance! So, I want to focus chapters on both gentlemen from now on—not so heavily on K. And spotlight various attributes that she likes/dislikes (Ami's list!) about each. And, probably throw in a few here and there where the guys butt heads for fun. Sound good? Let's see if I can pretend to like Ace. XD
"You didn't!"
Thin lips shifted into a smile, as the man watched his companion pull the designer dress from it's carefully wrapped package to admire. "Of course, love."
The blonde beauty clutched the garment to her chest and spun so she was facing him. "No. Really. I mean, you didn't! Ace," she whined, "If you keep this up, I'm going to have to assume ownership of someone else's closet!" She marched over to the double doors to her walk-in closet and swung them open for him to see. "See?"
She wasn't lying, he could see, but such rejection of his gift, left a frown on his face. He enjoyed picking out thing for her to wear. Things he thought that would amplify her beauty.
Seeing his smile had waned, she gave him a warm look and took his hands into her own. "I love it, really, it's gorgeous. But this is the eighth outfit in two weeks you've given me. There isn't anymore space." She glanced to the closet once more, and laughed a little. "In the past, I've always just borrowed this designer stuff from the designer, dropped their name a few times while taking pictures, and returned it. There just isn't any space in here for it all."
He feigned annoyance. "Then, give some of them to your friends or something."
She playfully shoved him, letting him know that she didn't buy his act, and walked back to the closet to eye what the dress would look like on her. "Whatever. Thank you, again. It is stunning. So, where am I wearing this one?"
He chuckled and walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her, and pulling her in close as they both looked into the mirror in front of her. He rested his chin on her shoulder, and talked softer than normal into her ear. "Just to dinner, love."
She grinned, not buying his story. "Just dinner? Really? This dress is too expensive for just dinner."
He hugged her a little tighter. "Just dinner. I promise. No fancy after party, no networking, no business."
"Lies," she said teasingly.
He shook his head 'no,' and then left a trail of kisses down her neck onto her collarbone, making her shiver. As usual, however, this made her pull away. He never noticed any uneasiness on her face or in her body language; she would always gracefully and effortlessly manage to escape his embrace, and then act like nothing had ever happened, changing the subject with an ease that seemed unnatural. It only made him want to try harder.
"So, when do we leave? Or shall I meet you there? Will you pick me up, or are you staying here?"
"Minako," he pleaded.
"Nuh-uh-uh, you answer my question, mister. I need to know when I need to start getting ready. You know it takes me hours!" She laughed and danced around with the dress a little more, before placing it on a hanger that she could easily get to later.
Ace ran his hand through his hair and sighed. Every. Time. He was shot down, every time. What bothered him, was he wasn't sure how far his rival had gotten. Or, if she did this to him, too. Minako had always chased after Kunzite in the past. And he, himself, had always chased after Minako. Was history repeating itself? Did he stand a chance at all? His thoughts were paused by the goofy beauty who was playing with her hair, pretending to put it up in a ridiculous updo in the mirror, who had stopped to laugh and ask him how silly she looked like that. Then, his thoughts left him and he smiled. He'd waited two lifetimes, he could wait a little more.
AN:
So hard! I had to stop before I took it down a road of Ace-bashing inducing scenes. And, I wrote this in a hurry as minion #2 is taking his nap, so sorry if it feels a bit rushed. I am trying to update a little more frequently. :) As always, thank you for reading, and please review if you feel inclined to do so.
