Chapter 7: The Alliance
The Esari yelled in anger and slammed her fist into the ground as Azula watched the Blue Box fade away into nothingness. "How in the hell is that possible?" Azula asked her, The Esari ignored her and walked past her. "So you're giving me the silent treatment?" Nothing. There was an eerie silence, followed by the fog dissolving and the sky returning to normal. Azula's eyes widened inward as the Esari's ship was revealed.
"I must continue my mission." Ashara muttered to herself, she looked at the circular disc and smiled to herself. The human was making an annoying sound which annoyed her greatly. Ashara stopped walking and faced Azula, "You do not want any part of this." she said raising her finger. "You have no idea.." Azula raised her hand and smiled evilly,
"Let me stop you right there." This human must be very brave, or foolish. Ashara thought to herself. "I escaped and walked for miles to be in this unfortunate situation. Now you're telling me that I have no part in whatever this is?" Azula prepared herself for what was likely going to be a fight. She could sense it coming from miles away. She readied herself, "I am the Fire Lord. And I will not be denied!" The Esari stood there in complete silence. The way she was looking at her was eerie. The wind howled in the distance and she stared at the place where the TARDIS had vanished. "Say something!" Azula growled, fire burned in her eyes as Ashara walked away. Leaving Azula in the cold.
"You were the Fire Lord." Ashara said finally, this stopped Azula in her tracks, "you were the Fire Lord, but you lost it all." Ashara chuckled, "you think you can take me?" She threw her weapon aside and gestured mockingly "I studied your file, Princess Azula," The way Ashara said Azula's named got her riled up, she resumed her fighting stance and summoned her Lightning. "I know who you are, if you think you have what it takes. Take your shot." Anger fulled her, she did what Ashara ordered and launched the lightning straight at the alien. The Esari smiled to herself and immediately jumped out of the way, rolling aside, then standing up on her feat. "I was trained by the best of the best. You were trained by a madman who called you a prodigy. He was wrong."
Ashara shrugged off a bit of snow that had placed itself on her shoulders. "Who are you?" Azula asked putting her lightning away, Ashara smiled and didn't answer at first. This was quite annoying. "Why have you come here?"
"I do not have to answer to you." Ashara responded. "But I will suppose you are entitled." She went to retrieve her weapon and she placed it inside her ship. She pressed a few buttons on a device that was strapped to her wrist. The ship vanished as Ashara turned to face Azula. "My name is Ashara, I come from the elite warrior race of Esari." She looked sad when she mentioned her species name. "I am the last of my kind, not by choice by fate. My world was destroyed as a casualty in an endless war, as I began my mission."
"And what mission is that?"
"To kill the Time Lord known as The Avatar." Ashara said, "the man with the blue box. That is his name." this made no sense to Azula, but then again Ashara had warned her. "For as long as I have known that has been my sole purpose. There was a prophecy, that prophecy came true and now it is up to me to stop the Avatar before he fulfills his destiny."
"You mean Avatar Aang?" Azula said curious to know more, but it looked like that Ashara had finished her explanation. A thousand more questions were running through her head, but Azula knew one thing, they had a common enemy and a common goal. Ashara was looking to kill the Avatar, and Azula was looking for revenge against her brother. "I only know of one Avatar, but it seems to me that we have a common goal." She smiled and chuckled as she said this. "Revenge. You want the man with the Blue Box. I want to kill my brother." she walked closer to Ashara and held out her hand. "If we ally ourselves, we could help each other."
"I don't think so."
"How well do you know this world?" Azula asked, "No offence but you don't strike as a resident. You need to maintain a low profile. I could help with that." Suddenly Azula looked into the reflection of this ice, she saw a hallucination of her mother, but she didn't say anything like she used to. "I am damaged, it's true. I was raised by a monster, but I think it's time I cast that aside." Azula looked again, the hallucination was gone. "You claimed to have read my file, there's so much about me you don't know."
"Oh?" Ashara said, her curiosity rising. "Say I do agree to this alliance, will you do everything I ask?" Azula thought about this, she had indeed been waiting for revenge for so long, but was she really going to risk it all for a what was a dangerous alliance with this unknown alien? However Ashara was the only way out of this backwater place, and the Avatar was getting away, if he formed an alliance with his new friends. Then the clever thing was to do the same. "There's a hesitance in your eyes, so what say you Azula?" Ashara said raising her hand to meet Azula's. "Will you enter into an alliance with me?" Ashara chuckled, "providing I do everything I say?" Azula was still considering this, she could tell that Ashara was waiting for an answer. "I'm waiting."
Azula eventually agreed and shook Ashara's hand, not entirely certain of what this meant. But one thing was for certain, she would soon reach her goal, this was something that she was more than ready to risk. No matter what the cost...
