Once Anna had left Elsa to her own devices after their first dancing session, Elsa had reflected how her relationship with Anna was progressing. Since then, she has been trying to find ways to liven up their nights together, but alas to no avail. This happened for a variety of reasons. One reason was that Elsa kept double-guessing herself, another reason was that Anna usually was too tired or calm to do much at night during the work week, and the third reason was that Elsa simply felt too awkward around Anna to ask to do something with her. This resulted in days slipping by them uneventfully like leaves lazily drifting to the ground from a tall tree.
In this Elsa found herself three nights later on a Saturday. Alone in the apartment.
She was pacing back and forth in front of the door to the apartment where Anna would enter. She paced the length of the room from the door to the kitchen and then paced the width from wall to wall in front of the living room couch where she and Anna tended to have talks with each other. Elsa presumed that the talks could either be in a heart-to-heart manner or be casual. It was a place of meeting together and getting to know about each other and where Anna has fed Elsa there. It also been a place where Elsa has found herself gradually find herself intrigued by Anna in more than a pure curiosity. She has found herself in the proceeding nights since Wednesday that she had harbored feelings for Anna that could possibly be of the romantic type. But Elsa wasn't for certain what she was feeling for the strawberry-blonde beauty. All she knew was that she increasingly needed to be near Anna. She couldn't explain the urge. She just knew she needed to fulfill that urge.
Elsa, while pacing, got so distracted that she started to pace onto the wall and up to the ceiling. Presently, she was pacing to and fro across the ceiling above the living room area. When she took notice of this change, Elsa stopped and stood still upside down.
"Why should I care more about Anna than any other human aside from the fact that she is my Feeder? Why am I suddenly becoming so protective of selective human beings? Why did I care about saving that woman from possible sexual defilement and bodily violation? I guess I have always cared more about humans than I have would have liked to admit to myself. I have had a tendency to pity humans more so than other vampires. But even if that is true, I see no reason why I would wonder what I could do with Anna to bond with her. She has her life and I have mine and we co-exist. Shouldn't that be enough? Why am I becoming attached to her?"
Elsa pondered for a moment whilst tapping her chin with her right index finger. In the meantime, she was pacing in a circle above the couch.
"I shouldn't have to worry or wonder where Anna is tonight. She left at seven and told me that she would be spending time with her friends tonight and would come back later. She told me she should be back at ten and if she wasn't back by then she told not to worry and expect her to be spending the night at a friend's house. And that the place she would spend her time at is called Oaken's Club."
Elsa stopped pacing again.
"I don't know where that is, but I have nothing to worry about since I am confident that Anna will return here safely. If I had to find her and bring her back here I have memorized her scent so I will be able to find her."
Elsa crossed her arms pensively. While deep in thought she remained upside down and floated down to the couch. Halfway there and her body automatically turned itself right-side up. When she landed, her feet made contact with the couch cushion. Elsa absentmindedly stepped down to the floor from the couch.
"I think I am right to assume that Anna should be safe and thus I don't have to worry about her returning to the apartment. But why do I feel I do not trust Anna being by herself? Why do I have a suspicion that in the near future Anna could be in the same situation as the woman from the alley?"
Silence overtook Elsa's mind and mouth for a brief time.
"But I shouldn't worry too much. I am not obligated to protect my Feeder at all costs, but it certainly would be unethical of me to save a stranger and not my Feeder if she was in that sort of situation. And besides, I would be a terrible guest if I didn't do favors for Anna as to show my gratitude for her giving me her delicious and healthy blood. Certainly, I have already promised to not kill any humans as part of our deal, but I feel I should try to do more for her."
A pause.
"But then again, I am not required to do anything more but refrain from killing other humans for Anna's sake. I suppose it is possible I feel I should do more because I am uncertain of the state of Anna's well-being since I have grown accustomed of Anna's presence and have been assured of her health. Yet without her around, I cannot gage Anna's health and well-being. That must be it!"
A small smile cracked on Elsa's face.
"I am just uncertain of Anna's well-being because I cannot see her. However, I should be convinced enough that Anna is fine considering her track record of mental and physical health. I should just rest and clear my head."
Elsa crawled up on the couch and laid flat on her back. She folded her hands over her stomach as she stared at the ceiling that she was standing on moments ago.
"Maybe I should go check-up on Anna just to be sure. I have nothing better else to do but wait for her return and read books so I may as well make the best of my time and learn more about the human culture by going to Oaken's Club and finding Anna. Yes. That will do. Once I do that my mind will be at peace and then I go about my life trying to understand this world."
Elsa immediately got up from the couch. Elsa was intent to go to the club, but after further thought, Elsa realized that she needed to blend in. Elsa considered what Anna was wearing before she left for the club and figured she would do her best to imitate the look. With a plan in mind, Elsa headed toward Anna's bedroom to barrow some clothing for the evening's expedition to Oaken's Club.
When she came out of the room, she examined herself in the soft hallway light. She was wearing black, form-fitting jeans, black sandals, and a teal sleeveless button up blouse with a black camisole underneath. Elsa walked out into the living room area and looked at the clock on the wall near the door and saw that it was eight o'clock. Elsa checked to make sure her braid was on her left shoulder and her wispy bangs were pushed back before teleporting herself outside of the apartment building.
Once she felt confident that she could leave the property without people noticing her teleporting, she began to walk in the direction of Anna's scent. In the meantime, Elsa mentally prepared herself for any other awkward encounters with other human beings while on her way to see Anna. She also reviewed the slang terms Anna's generation of humans used and tried to remember what certain behaviors meant and how to react to them.
During her walk to Oaken's Club, Elsa placed her hands into the pants pockets and hooked her thumbs in the belt loops. She made sure to keep even, sturdy strides as she occasionally sniffed the air to detect Anna's natural scent. However, her peaceful stroll at night was interrupted by cat calls and wolf whistles. She stopped dead in her tracks and turned her head toward the source of the offending sounds. Elsa spotted two dirty-looking men walking towards her.
She stood as still as a statue and waited for the two men to come closer.
"Look at that fine piece of ass, John."
"No kidding, Eric. Hey, babe….What's your name?"
"None of your business."
"Ooh….You're a feisty little thing, aren't you?"
Then John gave Elsa the once-over and his eyes landed on her crotch area a tad longer than the rest of her body before meeting her eyes again.
"How about I just call you pussy cat? I'll call you pussy for short since you have a fine-ass pussy ready for the taking."
"No thank you."
"What?"
"No. Thank. You. I have more important things to do than waste my time talking to you two twits. I have an agenda to fulfill."
"Not unless we have something to say about that. Eric, pin her."
"Sure thing, John."
Elsa waited for Eric to pin her to the nearest alley way wall before she kneed him in the balls and then gave John a round-house kick to the face. Both men grumbled in pain on the hard ground. Elsa pulled out her right hand from the pants pocket and blasted black energy onto the men to knock them out cold. Then, Elsa turned away from the unconscious men and walked away as casually as she was before. After walking for a yard, she mumbled to herself.
"Are all male humans pigs in this century? Or do I just have bad luck with these idiots?"
Elsa shook her head deciding to rid her mind of insignificant thoughts. She went on her way to where Anna's scent would eventually lead her to Oaken's Club. Elsa only hoped that she would find Anna in one piece and content with her life for the time being and then return to the apartment.
Ten minutes later and Elsa found herself in front of door that Anna's scent led her to. She looked around for any physical evidence that she was at Oaken's Club. Then, directing her eyes upward, Elsa saw the club's sign that had the name on it. Elsa looked back at the door.
"This must be the place. All I have to do is locate Anna, verify her mental and physical health and return to the apartment."
Elsa pulled out her right hand from the pants pocket and pressed down on the door hand. Then, she opened the door…
