I apologize for the extreme delay. I got sucked into the world of Reylo after viewing The Last Jedi. What can I say? I have a thing for bad boys... ;-) I have decided to start writing ahead so my postings don't take as long. Hopefully...

Exciting fact: since my last post of this story, I've actually met the absolutely beautiful, lovely, kind, and attentive to his fans Jason Isaacs. Did I mention beautiful? Dude is in his fifties and is still gorgeous!

Evelyn woke up in what seemed to be a pile of leaves. She slowly sat up, feeling very groggy and had a burning pain in her shoulder.

"Evie!" Wendy exclaimed, barreling into her and knocking her back down. John and Michael piled on as well.

"We saved you!" John informed her. "That Peter is a wonderful shot!"

"Shot?! He shot me?!" Evelyn exclaimed, searching her body for a wound.

"It was just a sleeping dart," Wendy provided.

"Oh..." was all Evelyn said, somewhat relieved.

"I want to hear all about your adventure!" Wendy stated enthusiastically. "Spending days among pirates! How exciting!"

Evelyn did not feel excited when she thought back about her 'adventure,' as Wendy put it. Though, she was mainly sad that she had just begun to crack him. James. She had spent her whole time with him thinking of ways to escape. Now she wanted to go back. She needed to know what had begun between them.

"They're not exciting!" Peter's voice broke through her thoughts. "They're old and boring!

"It was a bit exciting," she told Wendy, mainly to contradict Peter. She then told them the PG version of some of the events that transpired.

"So Hook was injured and you helped him?!" Peter asked, disbelieving.

"Of course. I couldn't just sit by and let someone suffer," she explained.

After a bit of food, Wendy begged to go see the fairies.

"Ugh!" "Nooooo!" "Not again!" were some of the responses from the boys.

"I would love to see the fairies," Evelyn told Wendy in part to make her feel better but also because she really did want to see the fairies. Being trapped on a pirate ship doesn't allow for much sight-seeing.

It was dusk when Evelyn and Wendy trekked into the forest in search of fairies. Wendy led Evelyn to a large tree where they could watch the fairies dance. The girls smiled and giggled and just enjoyed being together again.

"I saw you kiss him," Wendy whispered. "I'm the only one. I won't tell," she quickly added.

"Thank you," Evelyn replied, giving her cousin a small side hug.

"What was it like?" Wendy's curiosity got the best of her.

"Honestly? It was lovely," Evelyn grinned.

"Just imagine. An evil private falling in love with my cousin, thus making him no longer evil!" Wendy sighed, dreamily.

"Now, I'm not sure that's the case..." Evelyn informed her.

Just then the fairies glided toward the girls, sprinkling them with their pixie dust. The girls floated into the air twirling, pushing off of trees, and dancing together. The fairies danced with them. Some even sat on their shoulders or head, and two were practically obsessed with Evelyn's hair.

The girls were giggling and having a great time. That is, until the fairies suddenly zoomed off, disappearing. The girls floated back down to the forest floor, sensing something wasn't quite right. Evelyn put a finger to her lips to signal Wendy to be quiet. Another attribute that Evelyn's mother praised her daughter for having was a strong sense of intuition. Now, she wasn't sure if that was true, but at the moment Evelyn could feel the danger in the air.

Evelyn took Wendy by the hand and whispered "run," before dragging her along. Once they began to flee, Evelyn could hear footsteps running after them. They had begun to run in the direction of Peter's hideout, but Evelyn quickly realized that they shouldn't lead their pursuers to that secret space. She quickly changed their direction, and they ended up running toward the beach.

Since they no longer needed to stay quiet, Wendy began to call to Peter to save them. It didn't take long for him to appear. However, since the girls were afraid they could not fly. Peter could only carry Wendy away, and Evelyn gratefully let him. She was faster without Wendy. She felt that she was putting distance between herself and whoever it was giving chase. That is, until her foot caught a rock and she tumbled down a small hill, landing on the edge of the beach. Evelyn pushed herself up to continue running, but a pain surged through her ankle. She could do nothing but limp quickly toward a large boulder and hide behind it.

Evelyn didn't have to wait long before she finally laid eyes on the men that were chasing her. About ten or so pirates emerged from the forest, their eyes scanning the beach. She, of course, did not know all of the pirates of the Jolly Roger, but she somehow knew that these men did not belong to James- Hook...

The man who appeared to be their leader called to her, "You cannot hide forever, girl. We will find you. However, the more of my time you waste, the more pain I will cause you."

This man reminded her of a Viking more than a pirate. He had long golden blond hair and blond facial hair. His men were also mostly fair-haired. Vikings were just as fearsome as pirates, and Evelyn had no intention of showing herself.

Suddenly, gunfire pierced the quiet evening air. Evelyn noticed that it came from the direction of the water. She peaked around the boulder to see several small boats making landfall.

"Erik!" an unfamiliar voice called to the Viking leader. "We don't have the men for this!"

A frustrated shout could be heard, and Evelyn quickly pressed her back against the boulder. She half expected these men to find her due to her heart beating loudly in fear. More gunshots rang out, and she willed her pursuers to flee.

"You got lucky, girl," the man she guessed was Erik called. "I'm not finished with you. I'll find you!"

'Go away. Go away,' she whispered under her breath, clenching her eyes tightly shut.

Evelyn was hoping so fervently not to be found that she did not realize the gunfire had ceased. "Evelyn!" she distinctly heard James Hook call her name.

She peered around the boulder to see that the strange Viking-type men had vanished. Only Hook and his men occupied the beach. As much as she yearned to be near James, she had less desire to be his prisoner again. Evelyn resumed her hiding, pressing her body as tightly against the rock as possible.

"I know you're here. Somewhere," Hook called to her. "I can protect you..." He coaxed.

Evelyn would not be swayed. She remained where she was and hoped, but seriously doubted, that Hook would give up.

"Evelyn," he called to her again, though his voice was harsher. "Please don't make me issue the same threats as my enemies... I'm not finished with you! I'll find you."

James sounded like he was getting closer to her hiding spot, and there was no way she could run away if he found her. Silent tears escaped down her cheeks due to the pain her conflicted feelings caused her. Fear. Wanting. Desperation. Lust...

Peter's crow sounded close by, and soon the pirates were engaged in battle with the Lost Boys and some recruited Neverland Indians. Two young men, Indians around her age, approached Evelyn from her side of the boulder. They gestured that they were there to help her. She nodded and indicated that her ankle was hurt. The stronger of the two bent down and scooped her into his arms.

As they retreated with her into the forest, Evelyn couldn't help but to search for James over the young man's shoulder. She found him immediately, barking orders at his men. His eyes were on her, and they held no kindness- only rage. Her heart dropped, and her many feelings were replaced by one. Cold dread. She now feared their next meeting, knowing that he would not take her fleeing from him well.

Thanks for reviews and feedback. I know I'm moving a bit quickly, but didn't love move quickly back then? Also, it wass just a kiss. We shall see what develops now that they're *spoiler alert* separated!
