I AM SO SORRY. I really did not mean for this update to take so long it was just that I had no idea how to start this chapter then I had a little bit of writers block and couldn't think of ideas. Then I got ideas but still didn't know how to start it. So I APOLOGIZE for that very much. But here is the next chapter and I hope you like it and I shall make the next update way earlier than this one :)
REVIEW!
Amelie's Point of View
Did I do the right thing? Maybe I should have just said, that what Oliver said was all lies. Maybe she will completely avoid me now or find a way to tell everyone and everyone will be talking behind my back or asking me questions?
Stop it. There is no use getting myself paranoid. She might well just be in shock and could have the same feelings. I quickly dismissed the thought. Even if she did it, she had a boyfriend.
I sighed and concentrated on the paperwork, a slight headache forming at the back of my head.
A knock on the door, then sounds of protest and Oliver came in, followed shortly by Myrnin. I was a little surprised to see them both here at the same time.
"Well, isn't this a surprise?" I asked. Myrnin straightened his clothes and cleared his throat.
"I hear Claire is confused and slightly upset by something and she would like to stay with me for a few days, if you don't mind."
"Of course I mind," I said. "I brought Claire here so she stays here." I glanced at Oliver and saw he was giving me one of those strange looks, like he knew something, or he thinks he does.
"It's just for a few hours or days. However long Claire wants to stay." I started to say something when Myrnin cut in; "If your worried she will fall in love with me don't you worry about that I shall keep reminding her that she has a boyfriend and she must stay with him."
"It's not that she will fall in love with you." Oliver began but I shot him a fierce glare to keep your mouth shut. Oliver just smirked and I could see Myrnin figuring out what Oliver was going to say.
"Your worried she will-"
"Gerard, Myrnin is finished here please show him out." I said, before Myrnin could utter another word. Gerard came in and grabbed Myrnin's arm and more dragged him, than carried him out.
Now almost alone with Oliver be pulled up a chair and sat down. "So you told her?"
"Only because you told her. She didn't have to know."
"Of course she did. You were going to slip up sooner or later and she will mad you didn't tell her." Oliver shrugged like this was no big deal for him. Of course it wasn't; he wasn't the one who liked Claire a lot.
"I wouldn't."
"So what will you do now? Claire will probably pour her problems on Myrnin then decide it's more normal than-" I threw Oliver against the wall then grabbed his throat.
"Whatever you were going to say, it would be wise to be quiet. Claire needs me to protect her and I don't love her I just like her very much. It is not a crime." I said quietly then let him go and went back to my seat.
"I have never seen you act like this with anyone else. All the people you liked, you mourned but you didn't act out this much." The chair got back on its legs and Oliver leaned on the back. I closed my eyes, calming down. I couldn't let Oliver know how much it bothered me. He wouldn't stop going on about it otherwise.
I looked up at him. "Things change."
"Very true. But vampires don't. I've noticed they try to stick to their old ways as much as possible."
"Have you? You haven't tried to lead any armies and conquer anything." I tidied the papers up and picked them up from the floor.
"Because there is no army or nothing to conquer. But I have tried to take this town from you so that counts for something. You, you have sticked to somethings, but falling in love with a child? What is the real reason you changed her?"
"I advise you cease talking. I don't have to answer to you or anyone. If you have nothing useful to say, leave." He was getting on my nerves and my patience was at an end.
"Fine. How about dinner?"
I stared at him for a while. There was nothing in his face that suggested he was joking. He went from annoying me to asking me out to dinner.
"I don't think so."
"You have enough guards to take care of the girl and if she stays with Myrnin he is more than crazy enough to protect her. It's just something to take your mind off."
I thought for a few minutes. Then I decided.
"Fine. But no talk of my feelings for Claire. Anything else. One word about that and I leave, clear?"
"Crystal." Then he left.
In all the drama, I had forgotten about my headache and I thought it had gone. Now it came back more painful than before.
Myrnin's Point of View
Claire looked very troubled when she jumped out of her bedroom window. She had been very reluctant about that, even with her now immortal status but after I said a very factual information about how she couldn't go the usual way in case Amelie caught her she finally came down.
"Are you okay, Claire?"
She sighed. "Not really. Let's go to your lab." She ran there, using her vampire speed and I very shortly joined here. Down the steps Claire collapsed in the armchair I use for reading.
"You are very unlike yourself. Did Bob say something? Or Oliver?"
"No and bugs can't talk."
"So what is it? I am really no good with no guessing games."
"Amelie confessed that she loves me." Wow, I have never been rendered completely speechless in my long life. There were a few times but so very long ago..
"Well then, uh, that's nice. At least you won't have two worry about her killing you." I said, shrugging and walking off to feed Bob. When I did, I came back and Claire had her face in her hands. "Claire?"
"Why did this happen to me? Everything in this town happens to me. Why couldn't Amelie love someone else? Why couldn't she stay with Oliver or something?"
"Well. That is an awful lot of questions so I will answer then as best I can."
"No don't bother." Claire said and sighed. "I just needed to get away. I kept thinking she will come into my room and do something or say something."
"Really? Claire, Amelie was a queen so very very long ago. She still is, but on a much smaller scale. She wouldn't belittle herself that much."
"Queens don't confess to a 19 year-old that she loves her. Aren't they supposed to be emotionless?"
I went over to a bookshelf and took a book down on alchemy. "She still is. She won't melt every time she lays eyes on you, Claire. If she did, then I would be very concerned for her."
"Aren't you concerned enough that she loves me? She supposed to love Oliver! I love Shane and that's how it's supposed to be."
"Well then, it's not supposed to be like that if this happened. Now why don't you stop fretting and memorize these symbols? I want to test you on them tomorrow." I dropped the book her lap.
"First, ow! And second why? I already did this and what if I don't want her as my ... whatever."
"Your a vampire now, Claire. Your brain processing power should be much faster now." I began. "And for the second question just tell her."
"Tell her?! She probably bottled it up till now, why would I tell her?"
"Well, you have been in those situations where you didn't tell someone something because you didn't want to hurt their feelings. It got worse and more complicated, until you did tell them and they hated you forever. Well, they're human. I don't think Amelie is good under those circumstances." I shrugged.
"It sounds like you've been through that before." Claire said fiddling with the book cover. I shook my head.
"Of course I haven't. I just watch the younger ones nowadays. I'm sure you wouldn't want Amelie to hate you. She wouldn't listen to a word you say then you would have to resort to making connections to Oliver." I shivered and made and made an ick sound. She should stay as far away from him as possible.
"Yeah..." She sighed. "Well, I'm do you want me to take this home... I mean back to Amelie's?"
"Of course. Your mind processing power is not that good. Now go, go!" I made shooing motions and Claire collected her bag which I did not notice, and left. I shrugged and sat down in my bag and opened a book on Charles Darwin. He was a nice guy. A bit arrogant and he wouldn't let me change him but he was nice.
Claire's Point of View
The chat with Mynrin, had lifted a little weight from shoulders. But I still didn't like telling Amelie that I didn't like her in the way she liked me.
Shouldering my bag with the heavy alchemy book in, I ran the rest of the way back to the house before I completely lost my nerve. Entering the house through the garage, I went upstairs. Opening the door I saw Amelie sitting at the chair at my desk.
"Where have you been?" She asked.
"Um... nowhere." I still hadn't got over the surprise of seeing Amelie here again. Seriously, this must be the 3rd time she came come here. Maybe this was her favourite room?
"Don't lie to me, Claire. I know you have been confused about what I said and I understand if you want nothing to do with me."
"Well, I... I have something to say..."
CLIFFHANGER. Maybe a good one maybe a bad one... eh.
Anyway sorry again for the very late update I shall update earlier !
