"So you guys are all good again?" Cassie asks, staring pointedly at their intertwined hands as Andros and Ashley walk through the door. Ashley grins and bites her lip.

"Yeah, we worked it all out." She sneaks a peek at Andros who is looking and feeling, for the first time in a long while, peaceful. She lets go of his hand for a second to give her best friend a hug. "We owe you one."

"Thanks for that, Cassie," Andros tells her. She just nods and shrugs, giving Ashley a bright smile before pulling away from her.

"Hey, someone needed to do it. I knew you guys weren't going to take the initiative and there was no way any of them would do it." She jabs her thumb in the direction of the others who look a little insulted at her words.

"I take offense," Zhane protests.

"Me too," Carlos agrees. The pink ranger just rolls her eyes.

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say. But we need to get back on track." At her sentence, all casualness is gone from the room and tension is once again present.

"So let's go over what we know." Andros drops Ashley's hand and takes his seat in front of the control panel. "Dark Spector is, in fact, alive." He feels his stomach tighten. "We don't know how, we don't know why, but he is. We don't know how we can beat him this time."

"I thought he would have been gone for good after last time," chimes in Carlos, running a hand through his hair.

"You would think so," TJ agrees. "But I guess not."

"We can always beat him like any other enemy," Ashley supplies helpfully. Andros sighs and shakes his head.

"I don't think we can do it just like that, Ash," he tells her. Her brightened expression fades a little. "I mean, we have our morphers. That's a start."

"I thought they don't work anymore," Zhane declares. All eyes zero in on him.

"I thought morphers could always work," disagrees Cassie, looking perplexed. Zhane shakes his head from side to side.

"Not Astro morphers. Usually they're a one-time thing, if not used in while."

"But Andros's worked for a year after all obvious signs of danger were gone," TJ protests, looking to the red ranger for help as he swivels in his chair.

"I still used it," Andros says. "Just not as much as you would think."

"So since we haven't' used it since…since we 'won', they won't work anymore? "Ashely wonders out loud, trying to not remember that day. The day where she thought everything was over. The day where she thought she was leaving her heart behind, forever.

She's happy it's only what she thought.

"That's the general idea, yes." Andros drums his fingers on the control panel, trying to think. The morphers can work again, if reactivated, but it's a great risk. They could break just as easily. But it's a risk he he's willing to take.

He chances a look at the others, who look stumped, trying to come up with an idea. He catches Zhane's eyes and gives him a knowing look. Only Zhane can know what he's going to do. The others…they wouldn't understand.

"I have an idea," he states simply. "I'll be back." He leaves before the others can question him and the door slides closed behind him.

"Hey! Andros, wait!" Ashley leaps from her chair and tries to follow him, but the doors won't open. "Hey! Open up! Andros! DECCA, open up!"

"I cannot do that," DECCA replies in a monotone. "Andros has programmed my systems to not open the doors."

"That's not fair Andros!" Carlos joins in, knocking on the door harshly. "What's wrong?"

"You can tell us," adds Cassie. "Andros! What's going on?"

"He's reprogramming the morphers," Zhane says without thinking. They all whip their heads to stare at him, surprised.

"What?" Ashley and TJ ask in unison.

Oh crap. They're not supposed to know about that.

"He's reprogramming them," repeats Zhane hesitantly. Why did I tell them this again? Nice going Zhane. "It's the only way they can work again."

"And he couldn't tell us that, why?" Carlos looks frustrated. Zhane shrugs, feeling uncomfortable.

"Because they could break," he answers after a few moments. He got himself into it; he might as well finish is. "And not work. And then we'd be left-"

"With nothing," Cassie breaks in. her face in pensive. "But at least it's better than nothing. That means we still have a chance."

"That guy…" TJ shakes his head in slight annoyance. "Would it kill him to just tell us what he's thinking?"

"Probably," Carlos jokes. Ashley frowns at him, realizing none of them have actually seen Andros's true colors. Even Zhane hasn't seen all of him like she has. She knows him so well; she knows what he's thinking more than half of the time. It's just this time, she had no idea.

"At least he thinks," Cassie says teasingly.

"What are you trying to say, Cassie?" scowls Carlos. Zhane puts a hand on the black ranger's shoulder, trying to calm him.

"Guys, guys, none of you are that bright, it's fine."

"Oh, like you're one to talk!" Carlos turns on him.

"Yeah, that's not fair!" pouts Cassie, nudging him with her shoulder. He puts his hands up in defeat but the others continue to tease and insult him lightly, forgetting everything having to do with evil and Dark Spector and morphers.

Until Andros walks in, box in hand.

"Andros!" Ashley is immediately at his side. "Are the mophers okay? Did you break them? Can we use them again?"

"Zhane told you, didn't he?" Andros sighs, using one hand to rub his forehead in annoyance. The silver ranger gives him an apologetic smile.

"They deserved to know, Andros," he tells his best friend. Andros sighs again but shrugs, allowing that. Since they are a team again, they did deserve to know. Maybe he had acted a little too recklessly.

"But are the morphers okay?" Cassie points to the box he's carrying. "Can we use them?"

"It didn't take that long," TJ comments. Andros nods.

"We can use them. I had to use a lot of energy and power and DECCA was a great help. So yes, we can use them." As the others cheer, Ashley throws her arms around him, he smiles into the embrace. "Just be cautious the first time, since I don't know how they will react when activated again."

"Hey man, that's perfectly fine," says Carlos as he takes the morpher his former leader hands to him. "Very nice, very nice."

"You did do a thorough job," TJ agrees, inspecting it. "I think we'll be fine but do be careful the first time, as Andros said."

"We should probably start looking for him now," Andros decides, strapping on his own morpher. "That way, we'll get a head start."

Ashley freezes. "N-now?"

"Yes, when else?" Cassie looks at her strangely. "What's wrong?"

"Are you okay Ashley?" Andros asks, gazing at her in concern. She has gone pale and her eyes dart back and forth, signaling inner turmoil. He feels worry flood him. And after they just made up too! "What's the matter?"

"I just…it's just…I mean…" Ashley stammers. "I don't think…think I can do this."

A/N: Left with a cliffhanger! I'm a terrible person, I know. Anyway, I'm sorry it's been so long, things have been happening. Why do you think Ashley can't do this? Leave a guess in the review box below! Until next time(which hopefully won't be as long as this one was)…
