POV change: Conversation between Mr. Northwest and Dr. X, his "associate". This may be a short chapter, but it's pivotal!
"Listen to me very carefully." Mr. Northwest said with a very stern look on his face.
"I'm listening." Dr. X said.
"That boy came back. Somehow, some way, that boy came back, and he's with my daughter again. Sooner or later, they are going to get married. I need to stop that now." Mr. Northwest said.
"Do you want me to go clean out their apartments again?" Dr. X asked.
"No. You see, that doesn't seem to work. I've already tried it twice." Mr. Northwest said.
"Then what do you propose we do?" Dr. X asked.
Mr. Northwest took a small packet out of his pocket, and slid it over to Dr. X.
"No.." Dr. X said, realizing what the packet was.
"Yes, it seems impossible to keep this boy away from my daughter. So we'll just have to...eliminate him." Mr. Northwest said.
"But we'll be caught! It will look terrible for the family!" Dr. X said.
Mr. Northwest smirked. "You see, our family has always dealt with people who gave us trouble in a...special way. Besides, all I have to do is to pay off a few lawyers or judges. Besides, worst comes to worst, I always this." Mr. Northwest said, revealing his memory gun. "And besides, if you are able to successfully sneak that packet into his drink, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. The evidence should point to whoever provided the drink. A restaurant, or a bar."
"What about your daughter?" Dr. X asked.
"All I have to do is blast her with the memory gun. If he's gone, she won't ever remember him again." Mr. Northwest said slyly.
"I..I don't think I can do this. It's...it's...too diabolical." Dr. X said.
Mr. Northwest threw a stack of hundreds at him. "And if that isn't enough, remember I can always replace you. And I have a certain way of..replacing people."
Dr. X nodded. "I'll do it."
Dr. X got up to leave.
"Oh, and just remember, I wouldn't try disobeying me. We wouldn't want anything happening to that...family of yours." Mr. Northwest said ominously.
"Understood." Dr. X said, taking the money and the packet, and walking out the door.
