Hello High school of the dead/Battlefield fans, it's been a while, I know. I'm sorry if this story hasn't been frequently updated but, I hope you guys understand, there's more than one story that I write here on this site. And, you may have noticed I changed the title, what do you think, is it better? Worse? Either way, I'm thankful if there are more reviews.
"Alright, back to business!" Redford barked. "Are you guys leavin'? Or staying?"
The bedroom door busted open, with Haggard, Preston, and Sweetwater walking into the room, with their weapons.
"Who's what now?" Sweetwater asked.
"Did we just hear something about leaving? I'll leave if we can catch those Mercs, know what I mean?" Haggard then took out his camera. "Besides, I'd like to keep this, and make sure that somehow, someone else can see it. So ya know…"
"Well, hate to disappoint you Hags, but we're probably not getting back to America." Preston said.
"Come on! What's with the negatory thoughts?" Haggard said.
Suddenly, a roar of a vehicle was being heard from outside.
"Uh…that our boys?" Haggard questioned.
Everyone went outside on the patio to look at the current events that was happening outside, down below. Shizuka actually stayed back, and helped Rei up, and they both walked together to join everyone else. Everyone noticed three trucks pulling up to the front.
"Uh, is that someone important arriving?" Sweetwater asked.
"Yes." Saya responded.
"How important are we talkin' here? Important like, the head of this place, or important like yer daddy?" Haggard asked.
"Yes and Yes." Saya answered.
A man stepped out of the truck, he had a muscular build, and was wearing dark clothing, and he was equipped with a katana. He looked at his wife, who was also down there, along with some of the other men.
"He's the former lord of Tokonosu, and the head of the Takagi family. The man who judges everything by his rules." Saya let out a breath. "My father…"
"Nice one Haggs!" Preston commented.
"I just get lucky!" Haggard replied.
They were watching for a couple of minutes, then a container lifter came drivng in, holding up a caged man, with some people surrounding the place.
"Ain't that a zombie?" Haggard questioned confused.
"Really?" Preston asked.
He took out the laser designator, and looked closer.
"Sarge?" He shook, and gave him the binoculars.
"Hmmm…"
"I don't like where this is going…" Sweetwater said.
"Must be some demonstration for, well I dunno." Redford groaned.
"My father normally ALWAYS, has something to say…" Saya said.
Redford put down the binoculars.
"Maybe, I've got something to say. I don't know if he really understands what else we may have to fight."
Redford marched back into the bedroom, and out, and he started to head down to the gathering.
"I dunno what scares me more, those Mercs, or the dead rising to come and eat me." Haggard said.
"I choose zombies!" Alice squealed.
"I'd be more scared of the men in black…" Shizuka commented.
"I don't know…" Kohta softly groaned.
"Well, best be scared of both!" Haggard said.
"Hey uh, Sweets? You said you understand Japanese, right?" Preston asked.
"What, you want me to translate what Saya's father is saying? CAN DO!" Sweetwater replied.
"Well you guys are lucky that we know how to speak English." Saya said.
"Yeah, thank you." Haggard replied.
Saya's father began to speak for a couple of minutes.
"Ok, so we got someone who was a retainer who was bitten, and is the man's best friend."
Saya's father spoke some more.
"Uh…uh, something about saving associates and being bitten in the process."
"Mmmm hmm…" Saya nodded.
"Ok let's see…he says that any human can do this, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, he's no longer human."
"Pretty good so far!" Rei said.
Saya's father then took his katana out of his holster, and held it in the air.
"I think this scares me more than Serdar's annoying accent." Haggard said.
"Sure Hags, sure." Preston commented.
They all then watched as Saya's father swung the sword, and sent the retainer's head flying, into the fountain, and then he spoke some more, and Sweetwater tried to translate.
"Uh…we are facing this present, and we have to fight, no matter if they're our friends, family, or loved ones."
"Wow that was one heck of a demonstration." Haggard said.
"Hey look, there's Sarge!" Preston pointed.
All they could see, was Redford standing straight, staring into Saya's father's eyes, and talking loudly, in English, about the Legionnaire. He didn't understand all of the Sergeant's words, but he payed attention when he said, "Acta Non Verba." Saya's mother and father walked through the crowd, and Redford followed them.
"Swords are inefficient…" Kohta mumbled.
"Kohta what are you-"
"I SAID! They're inefficient!" Kohta scolded. "A Japanese sword will break if it hits bone, it's useless after slicing three or four people!"
"Ah come on! You ain't seen what I seen! Saeko killed at least…I can't remember. And her sword was still fine." Haggard said.
"Thank you George." Saeko smiled. "But what determines you strength in the way of the sword, numbers determine your strength."
"So, wait, what'd be required to keep the sword going?" Preston asked.
Saeko explained.
"The swordsman's technique, the quality of the sword, his mental strength. If those three elements are at high levels, you can't lose your fighting strength, no matter how many you need to fight."
"Kohta… that's enough." Takashi said, putting his hand on him.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Khota said, pushing Takashi away. "And don't interrupt me. You can't even shoot a gun properly"
"Hirano! You need to back off!" Saya said.
Kohta angrily ran off. Takashi and Alice ran after him.
"So, do we call this one big happy family?" Sweetwater questioned.
The three soldiers communicators started buzzing.
"Is that Sarge, or Miss July?" Sweetwater wondered.
He opened the com link, and listened.
"Alright! The big man's asking the rest of you three to come down near the gate! NOW!"
"Roger that Sarge!" Sweetwater responded.
He hung up.
"Oh, so what now?" Haggard groaned.
"Ah, we'll see." Sweetwater said.
Sweetwater, Preston, and Haggard started to slowly make their way outside. They got to the gate, and there was Redford, with Saya's mother and father.
"Uh…sir?" Sweetwater hesitantly said.
Saya's father didn't speak, and held up a photograph of a familiar looking man.
"Hey! Ain't that the guy that Marlowe shot down in Sadiz?" Haggard questioned.
"Wait? Was he on that chopper?" Preston asked.
"I dunno…" Haggard said.
"This man is alive, and he is dangerous. I cannot express how much trouble he has caused. You understand what he has done."
"Well…we got zombie and Mercs. How much more fun can this get?" Sweetwater said.
There was suddenly some commotion being heard from a distance.
"Excuse me."
Saya's father and mother started to walk towards the commotion. The four stood paralyzed, then Saya's father turned and said in Japanese: "Come."
("Yes sir.") Sweetwater responded in Japanese.
They trailed behind the couple.
"Damn good job Sweetwater, seems like those lessons payed off!" Preston complimented.
"Yeah!" Haggard patted Sweetwater's shoulder. "Hell of a job brotha!"
"Let's just go see what's going on." Sweetwater said.
When they caught up to the couple, they found that a heavily armed Kohta, was being surrounded by a group of men, trying to pry the guns off of him.
"HEY!" Haggard yelled, cocking his shotgun. "You mess with him, you mess with me!"
"Haggard no, just shut up." Redford scolded.
Haggard lowered his weapon, and they watched as Saya's father introduced himself, in Japanese, standing in front of Kohta, tear filled eyes.
("I am Souichiro Takagi, former lord of Tokonosu, master of tindo-soginru. What is your name, young man?")
("K-K-Kotha Hirono. I go to Fujimi Academy, I'm in Class 2B, rauster #32!")
("Something tells me that you have spirit. I'm quite sure you've been through a lot before you made it here. I see that you don't intend on handing over your weapons?")
("NO SIR! I don't want to! Without the guns, I'm going back to right where I was before! They'll make fun of me again!")
"Sarge…" Sweetwater said as he watched Kohta cry.
"We'll get our chance." Redford responded.
("I've finally figured out what I can do!") Kohta cried.
("What exactly can you do?!") Souichiro asked.
He turned to the four. ("Tell me Private Sweetwater, what can this boy do? Is he capable with these weapons?")
("Yes sir. He seems to have a pretty good understanding of the mechanics.")
("Hmmm…But now,") Souichiro turned back to Kohta. ("What can you do with those weapons other than shoot them? TELL ME!")
Kohta shook, and continued to weep.
("Well I can…I can…I can.")
("He can protect your daughter sir!")
Takashi came in, running for Kohta's support.
("Komuro…") Kohta said, looking up.
("Hmm, Komuro.) Yes, that name sounds familiar. (You were friends with my daughter ever since she was little?")
("Yes sir) still am. (Hirano's been the one protecting her. We've all been working together, but other than the four Americans we fought alongside with, he is the one handling the guns.)" Takashi said.
Alice, along with the dog, Zeke, came running. She jumped on Kohta, and hugged him, then stared at Souichiro. Saeko also came in, and said that she'd witnessed Kohta's bravery. Shizuka, and Rei came and stood with them. Bravo-One Charlie also stood by Kohta.
"That's right! Don't mess with me! Or my gun-slingin…nerd!" Haggard yelled.
("Me too daddy!")
Saya then came walking in for Kohta's support.
("He's just a loser Military Otaku, but I would have been one of those zombies by now, daddy. That's right, he's the one who's been protecting me! He did your job!")
"We have no credit in this manner sir. I give the boy 100% credit in protecting your daughter. We're all survivors, together! I can trust him, I'll ask him to watch our backs any day!" Redford said.
"Everyone…thank you." Kohta weeped.
Suddenly, Bravo-One Charlie's communicators started to buzz loudly. Redford picked up the call.
"Bravo-One Charlie this is Mike-One Juliet, I can't really talk-now but-" There were sounds of gun shots, and zombies moaning being heard. "OPEN FIRE!" Came another man's voice inside the com-link. "So, I'm unsure if I'm going to make it boys. Good lu-"
