There will be some Chekov/Sulu and some McCoy/Scotty in this chapter that may become more apparent later on, only because I love them all.

He did not sleep in the slightest through the night. Spock kept a careful vigil over his lover. He dare not sleep for worry the nightmares would come. He watched over the Doctor as well, as he slumbered fitfully.

The Corins only had one guard stationed to watch them but it seemed that one was enough. Spock could match a Corin in a fare fight but he knew the humans would not stand a chance against the superior strength of the larger species.

So, Spock sat, trying to devise a logical plan to decide their fate but nothing seemed to come to mind. If he were fully human he would admit to being angry and frustrated, but he was Vulcan so he must not show these feelings.

Jim groaned from his lap and his eyes fluttered open. Spock gazed down at him, his eyes tinged with worry, "T'hy'la," he said.

"Ugh, Spock, what happened?" Jim asked as he sat up. He rolled his neck in discomfort.

"We were captured by the Corins, captain, and in order to forestall their killing you, I told them that they should hold us for ransom," Spock said.

Kirk growled, "Awesome," he kicked Bones awake, "Hey, How long have I been out?"

Bones murmured something about Jim being a bastard and answered, "All through the night," he moaned.

"Damn, and the enterprise hasn't found us yet?" Kirk asked.

"Negative Captain," Spock's voice was as cold as ever and Jim took notice.

He scooted closer to his lover until only they could hear each other, "Hey, It's going to be fine baby," Jim quickly pecked his lover's cheek, "Promise."

"Jim, you should not make promises that you do not know you can keep," Spock answered without looking at his Captain.

Jim sighed, "I know, but it's good to hope," Kirk looked skyward, "Wonder what the Enterprise is doing?"

On the Enterprise

"They're gone? Just like that," Sulu, as acting captain, was fighting to keep his patients with the Corin leader.

"I am afraid so Captain. They were taken as captives by the rebellion. We have not received any word of their whereabouts or condition but we hope they are in the best of shape," The Corin said.

Sulu sighed, realizing there was nothing further he could do, they had already contacted Starfleet and told them of the situation.

They have yet to respond.

"Please inform me if you make any progress."

"I will be sure to, Captain."

Sulu nodded and the screen went back to their view of the planet. The acting Captain gave a frustrated sigh and ran a hand through his hair.

Chekov turned to him and offered a sympathetic smile. Sulu felt his insides warm at the sight and h smiled back, though weary.

"Captain Sulu," a voice crackled over he inner comm.

"Yes Mr. Scott go ahead," Sulu answered.

"I would like a word with you down in engineering," Scotty's voice sound strained.

Sulu sighed and stood. "Mr. Chekov please come with me, Mr. Artwright, you have the conn," he said and walked into the turbo lift with Chekov following closely behind.

As soon as the doors were closed Pavel pulled him in for a tight hug, "It iz not your fault," he said.

Sulu held onto him tightly, "I know Pav, but the Jim, Spock and the Doc are down there somewhere and there's not a damn thing I can do."

Pavel kissed his gently just as the turbo lift doors opened and the two walked out into engineering.

Mr. Scott did not look happy, to say the least. If anything he looked downright miserable, which he was.

Sulu's brow furrowed in concern, "Have you gotten any sleep?" He asked the Chief engineer.

Scotty frowned, "No, of course not! How am I supposed to bloody sleep when Leonard's down there in who knows what condition?!" He cried, his hands flailing about.

"Scotty, look I know-"

"Know ye don't!" He pointed to Chekov, "You've got him and who I've got is currently being held captive by some crazy rebells," he gave a frustrated cry, where everyone in engineering paused to look at him, but he payed them no mind, "I need a drink," he growled and walked swiftly to his office with Sulu and Chekov following.

The door closed and Scotty all but dived for his scotch and downed the glass in one throw. He poured himself another and downed that one, he was about to pour himself another before Sulu stopped him, "Scotty, listen to me. We are going to get them all back safely," He insisted.

Scotty looked at him despairingly, "But how can ye be sure?" His voice was soft, sounding almost lost.

Sulu placed a gentle hand on his friend's shoulder, "I just do. They take care of each other, they always have and always will," his words seemed to brighten Scotty if only a little.

"Yer right, Leonard is far to stubborn to be killed by some rebells," he said with a fond smile and walked out, yelling at some of the crew to get back to work as he went.

Chekov came up behind him and hugged him around the middle, "You did well, Captain."

Sulu smiled but it quickly disappeared, "I hope I didn't just lie to him."

Sorry it's taken me so long to write this chapter, I've been having some sever writers block. I hope you liked it, r and r.
