Lovino fell face first onto his bed. The day had been truly exhausting, searching for the shapeshifter or clone maker. And they had had absolutely no luck. There was only one shapeshifter in their whole school, Matthias was his name, and he was just about as bad at using his powers as Lovino was. And besides that, he and Alfred were instant friends on the first day and the dumb American refused to even consider that Matthias would do something like that.

They had spent every ounce of free time pouring over school records, looking at each student and their powers. There were no clone makers in the whole school. That left the possibility of someone outside of the school, but then why bother using the face of a student? Lovino sighed and rolled onto his back, letting his eyes slide closed, because after the day he'd had, he most definitely deserved a nap.

Just as his mind began to drift and he was about to fall asleep, a knock startled him awake. He let out a string of curses before yanking open the door. Somehow, it was less than surprising to see Antonio standing in front of him.

"What?"

"Um. Our training, we have training today, no?"

Lovino glared at him.

"No."

He tried to push the door closed, but Antonio held out a hand to stop it.

"Aw Lovi~ Please? I brought help today!"

"Help?"

Gilbert and Francis seemed to materialize behind Antonio.

"Hell no!" He tried once again to push the door close, but this time the whole trio kept it open.

"Lovi, you promised we would do this everyday!"

"I don't care!" He shouted, turning and pushing against the door with his back. "You never said I had to get help from those idiots! You're bad enough!

"Okay but you asked for it~ Gil, flush him out."
"What the fuck did you just say?"

The response was snickers from the other side of the door. Lovino rolled his eyes and focused on shoving the damn door closed. As he pushed, his eyes landed on Feli's bed. The idiot still insisted on having stuffed animals even though they were both eighteen years old. He stared at the massive pile of animals and grinned as he noticed the weight on the door had lightened a little. The smile promptly disappeared when one of the animals he was staring at shifted.

"What the..."

He tried to say he imagined the stuffed bear's leg twitching, but then the thing actually stood up. He gasped in horror and abandoned his attempt to keep the door closed, causing Francis and Antonio to stumble after the weight disappeared.

"Shit shit shit you win! Just fucking get me out of here!" Lovi shouted, bolting from the from the room and running into Gilbert who swiftly grabbed him around the waist and lifted him into the air while Francis and Antonio doubled over in laughter.

"Aw Lovi! He just wants to be friends!" Gilbert cooed as the stuffed bear walked out of the room and looked up at them with its beady black eyes.

Lovino let out a terrified squawk and thrashed in Gilbert's arms.

"Let me go you damn bastard! It's gonna kill us!"

"It's a stuffed bear!"

"It's possessed!"

"Alright Gil, he's out, you can stop." Antonio said, swallowing his laughter and wiping tears from his eyes. Gilbert shrugged and the bear fell, lifeless, to the ground.

"Don't run away or he'll come back for you." He threatened as he set Lovino back onto the ground. Lovino crossed his arms and pouted, looking warily at the stuffed bear as if expecting it to come back to life at any moment.

"Aw Lovi~ You must know about Gil's powers!"

"What his powers of being a giant douche?" Lovino grumbled, refusing to look at the cheery Spaniard.

"No, his animation powers! He can make things come to life!"

"... Oh." He felt his face going red. How did he not piece that together? In a futile attempt to hide his embarrassment, he stomped over the the stuffed bear, intending to throw it back onto Feli's bed.

As Lovino turned away from the trio, Gilbert turned to Francis and Antonio, cocking his eyebrows. Francis nodded enthusiastically, while Antonio shook his head. Gilbert grinned and turned back to Lovino. Just as he was bending over to pick up the bear, Gil flicked his wrist, making the bear leap into the air. Lovino yelped and fell backwards. Even Antonio couldn't help but keel over with laughter.

"Si stupido madre cazzo macchie merda cazzo!" Lovino yelled, kicking the accursed bear and storming away down the hallway.

"L-L-Lovi~ Wait!" Antonio cried, trying to stop his laughter.

Arthur stared skeptically at Alfred who stood about ten feet away from him.

"Okay! I'm ready!" He shouted. Arthur shook his head. After his failure at teleporting Matthew the other day, Alfred had become adamant that Arthur should try again until he could do it perfectly. To make matters worse, Roma had confiscated his spellbook, saying that it was only keeping Arthur from reaching his full potential.

So now he stood in the middle of the quad, preparing himself to perform magic using 'only his feelings' whatever that meant.

"Are you doing it yet, Artie?!"

"Shut up, I haven't started yet!"

He sighed and concentrated hard on summoning the feeling he felt when he teleported Ivan to him by accident. He gasped as he felt the same sensation and opened his eyes, hoping to see Alfred, but instead was faced with a very pissed off looking Lovino.

"What the-" His eyes landed on Arthur who was still poised with his hands outstretched. "I hate this goddamned school!" Lovino cursed, storming away.

"It's okay, Artie," Alfred called, "You were really close, he passed in front of me!"

Arthur nodded from this encouragement and focused on trying again.

His second attempt he somehow managed to teleport Matthew from his room.

Finally on his third try, he managed to teleport Alfred to him and was immediately crushed in a hug.

"See! I told you you could do it!"

"Thanks, Alfred." He choked out. That boy definitely did not know his own strength.

Antonio decided to wait for Lovino outside his room in order to apologize. He figured the Italian would return within the hour, since the sun was beginning to go down anyway. When he wasn't back by six, he figured he had decided to stop for dinner, and would be back by seven. At seven-thirty, he started to worry. Eight o'clock rolled around and he texted Gilbert and Francis to start looking for him. By nine, he was going out of his mind with guilt and worry, wondering how he would break it to Roma. He considered that maybe Lovi had gone to meet up with Feliciano, but this small hope was dashed when he recalled Feli mention earlier in the day that he was going to be having an overnight study session with Ludwig and Kiku. He checked his phone again, but he had no new messages, and glaring digits of the clock seemed to taunt him. Ten fifteen. He had been missing almost six hours now.

The sound of shuffling footsteps coming down the hallway caused Antonio to perk up. He stood from his spot on the floor, relief washing over him as he recognized Lovino's figure.

"Lovi! Where have you been? I was worried and- Lovi? Are you okay?" Lovino moved passed him, almost zombie like, as if he hadn't heard a word Antonio was saying. He figured he was ignoring him because he was still mad.

"Hey, are you still mad about earlier? I waited here to tell you I was sorry... Lovi? Hey!" Unable to stand the silence, he reached out suddenly and grabbed Lovino's wrist. Lovi's head whipped around in surprise, and he stared at Antonio as if seeing him for the first time.

"Oh. It's you."

"Lovi I was standing right here, talking to you. Did you not notice?"

Lovino shrugged and dug into his pocket for his room key.

"Are you mad at me?"

He looked up at Antonio and squinted at him, as if trying to remember something.

"For what?"

"F-For the teddy bear thing! Earlier today! You got mad and left for six hours!"

"Hm."

The door swung open and Lovino was about to disappear inside when Antonio reached out and stopped him.

"Wait. Will you train with me tomorrow?"

"Train for...?"

"Your powers Lovi! The training we're supposed to do everyday! So you don't set people on fire!" He bit his lip, unsure if the last sentence might have gone to far. He waited for coldness, for anger, but it never came.

"Oh. Yeah, sure." Not angry, not even cold. Just a statement. The door swung close and Antonio was left alone to wonder what on earth was wrong with Lovino.

Antonio had made up his mind. Lovino was acting weird. It had been two weeks since his six hour disappearance, and he had only been acting slightly better than that night. He never got angry anymore, which in itself was worrying, and he never swore. He had never missed a training session with Antonio, though after that night he didn't seem to need it. His powers were still present, but somehow they were miraculously in check. Most of the time during the day he was distracted, staring off into space, not purposefully ignoring anyone, but definitely not listening. He forgot things, and worst of all he continued to disappear for hours at a time. Antonio had had enough and decided tonight was the night. He would get to the bottom of this.

He waited until he saw Feliciano leaving the dorm building, signaling Lovi was alone, then stalled an extra twenty minutes, to make sure Feli wouldn't be coming back. He then slowly made his way into the freshman dorms, as if on a secret mission.

There was the soft thumping of music in the building, Antonio figured there must've been a party somewhere. But then, as he approached Lovino's door, it became clear that his room was the source of the music. Confused, Antonio rapped on the door. The music abruptly stopped. There was a hushed voice then footsteps and the door swung open revealing...

"L-Lovi? Did you... Dye your hair?"

"Ahhh..." The guy standing in the doorway, who looked amazingly like Lovino, only blonde, turned his head into the room and whispered "Do you know this guy?"

There were more footsteps then the blonde guy was shoved out of the way, replaced with none other than Lovino.

"Toni~ what're you doing here?"

"I was- Are you drunk?"

"Uhmmm... Oh! Did you want some? Papa says its rude not to-"

"That's enough sweetie, go sit down before you hurt yourself."

The blonde guy was back and gently pushed Lovino away from the door before turning his attention back to Antonio.

"Ahh, so you're him." The guy stated, looking Antonio over.

"Antonio. Who the hell are you?" The Spaniard replied coldly, not at all fond of this guy who obviously was getting his Lovi drunk and who easily could have been the cause of Lovino's weird state during last couple weeks.

"I'm... A friend. Flávio. I'm helping Lovino out with his little fire problem, so-"

"By getting him drunk?!" Antonio shouted, ignoring the fact that Lovi had been improving. No way it was by this guy's influence.

Flávio giggled, glancing back into the room.

"No, that was his idea. He asked, as if anyone could say no to that face." At this, he laughed, as if it was some sort of joke.

"Hey Toni! Have you ever heard Lady Gaga? She's amazing. Flávio made me listen to her stuff." Lovino called from the room.

Antonio bit his lip and looked over Flávio into the room, his blood instantly boiling at the sight. There were at least three empty wine bottles that he could see in plain view, and Lovino was gulping down a third. He shoved past Flávio and snatched the wine from Lovino, who made a whine of protest, then scooped the intoxicated boy into his arms and stormed out of the room.

"If I see you near him again," he growled at Flávio, "you will regret it."

With that he turned on his heel and left the freshman dorms. He walked the two of them over to his own room, trying to shush Lovino's drunken blabber and praying they didn't run into Roma. When they finally made it up to Antonio's room, he realized there was no way he'd be able to shift Lovi into one arm to get his key, so he kicked at the door with his foot, hoping Francis didn't go out tonight.

After a tense moment, the door swung open. Francis's face instantly fell into a worried expression.

"Mon duei! What happened? Is he okay?"

Lovino rolled his head lazily to look at Francis before his face lit up and he struggled to sit up in Antonio's arms.

"Holy shit. Your name is Francis. And you're from France. FRANCE-is!" He burst into a fit of giggles as Antonio shoved his way into the room and dropped him onto the bed.

"He- he's drunk?" Francis asked in shock.

Antonio shook his head angrily, and recounted the tale of finding a guy in Lovino's room, getting him drunk off his ass. Every couple sentences he had to pause to get Lovi to stop babbling.

At the end of it all, Francis was in a state of disbelief.

"I know it's awful but, all I can think is that THIS is not what I expected him to be like drunk."

Antonio had to smile at that.

"Why the hell not?"

"What?"

"Do you think I'm not fun enough? That's what Flávio said. He said he was the only one who enjoys hanging out with me."

Francis and Antonio shared shocked look.

"Lovi... How long have you and Flávio been... Hanging out?" Antonio asked carefully. This was the most talking Lovi had done in two weeks. And the most emotion he had been showing as well.

Lovi seemed to immediately forget his anger and screwed his face up in thought.

"Aaaaa couple weeks. Yeah! Remember when Not-Ivan attacked Alfred? A little after that. Maybeeee... A day or two? Hm. Can't remember. Do you have anymore wine?"

"Who is Flávio?" Francis pressed, figuring Lovino would be more forthcoming with information while in this state. "Is he a cousin?"

Lovino scoffed. "No! He's me. Only not me. OH YEAH. He knows Not-Ivan. Not-Ivan is Ivan, just not."

"... What?"

"Yeah, no no, it made sense when he said it, how did he say it, ummm..." Lovino rubbed his hands over his face is frustration. He dropped them back down, then froze as his eyes landed on Antonio.

"Lovi? What is it?"

"You're... Really hot."

"What?!" Antonio's face went bright red as Francis burst out laughing. Lovino simply yawned, rubbing his eyes.

" 'M tired."

Antonio sighed and shot Francis a glare which quieted his laughter.

"Okay Lovi. You can have my bed. I'll sleep on the-"

"Will you sleep next to me?"

"What? Why?"

"I don't want them to get me."

"You don't want who to get you?"

"The... The..." Before he could finish the thought, Lovino's head lolled to the side and he was asleep.
