A/N: This is a short chapter, so sorry about that my lovelies :/

Chapter 7: Daliah Changes Her Destiny

As the weeks fly by, I walk Castiel through what it means to watch over someone. It takes a while for him to fully understand though. He occasionally enters the bathroom when I'm taking a shower. The last time he did this, I threw my shampoo bottle at him and swore. I'm glad he understands not to stand over me while I'm sleeping anymore because that was really creepy, and he usually knocks before entering my bedroom now. Anyway, back to today… It's morning and the sun is shining. How do I know that? Cause Castiel opens the blinds and I fall out of bed trying to shield my eyes.

"What the hell, Cass?" I say, squinting at the bright light.

"I am sorry, but I had to see the day God has given us." He explains, as though everyone knows this.

"Would you mind giving me a warning next time?"

"That seems fair enough, Daliah."

"I'm going to go take a shower." I pick myself up and leave. I go into the bathroom. I turn around and Castiel is right there. "What the hell Cass?" I nearly shout at him, again.

"Is this crossing a line?" He asks, seeing my expression.

"Yes. I've told you before, humans prefer to be alone in the bathroom unless they give someone permission to come join them."

"Oh. Do I have your permission to join you?" He says, not noticing my discomfort.

"Uh, no." I fold my arms across my chest.

"Then I apologize for my misunderstanding, I will wait in your bedroom until you are finished here." He disappears. I sigh and take a towel out of the closet before I take my pajamas off. After my shower, I dry myself off and put my wet hair up into a bun. Wrapping my towel around me, I come out of the bathroom. Castiel is gazing out of the window again. I sneak around him, grabbing clean undergarments and clothes. I run into the bathroom to change, shutting the door behind me. I lean against the door. My cell phone rings in my bedroom. I quickly throw my clothes on before I run out. I stop in my tracks. Castiel answers it and is talking to someone.

"My name is Castiel. Who are you?" He asks, about to say something else. I give him a look. "This is another line crossed, isn't it?" He gives it to me, somewhat reluctantly. I hold my cell to my ear.

"Hello?" I say into the speaker.

"Leah? What the hell was that all about?" Sam responds.

"Hey, Sam, sorry about that. My neighbor is a bit overprotective."

"You call answering another person's cell phone 'overprotective'? That's an invasion of privacy!"

"I know, but he means well. Besides, I'm the only friend he's got here."

"How long has he been your neighbor?"

"He moved in a few weeks ago. He's shy."

"You're helping him fit in, aren't you?" Sam sighs.

"Yes, is there something wrong with that?" I say, defensively.

"No, I didn't mean to offend you, Leah. I just want you to be careful. You're my best friend. I don't want to see you get hurt."

"You know it goes both ways, right?"

"Yeah, I do." Sam sounds like he's smiling. I hear a door open. "Dean's home, do you wanna talk to him?"

"Sure." I decide it's about time Dean and I talk again. There's a brief pause and a slight rustling as Sam hands the phone to Dean.

"Leah?" Dean sounds like he ran a marathon.

"Hello, Dean." I bite my lip as I struggle not to cry.

"How… How are you?" He asks.

"I'm fine for the most part. My neighbor is visiting me."

"Is it Enya?"

"No, Enya moved out about a month ago. My new neighbor moved into his place then."

"Is she nice?" Dean sounds intrigued. I giggle.

"She is actually a he. His name is Castiel and he is nice. He moved here from Alaska. He's really shy, but once you get him talking, he's very funny."

"What the hell kind of a name is 'Castiel'? He sounds old and boring."

"Dean, don't be mean. Cass is a young and gentle man who's been looking out for me. He's my guardian angel."

"How young is he?" Dean asks. He sounds slightly pissed. I look at Castiel, pensively.

"I don't know, but I'm guessing he's around 30." I look away as Castiel meets my gaze.

"Wait, isn't Castiel that Angel?"

"I gotta go, Dean."

"I'll visit you tomorrow."

"Wait, what?" I ask, surprised.

"I'm gonna visit you tomorrow. I have to tell you something important. Like really important." He seems to be waiting for an answer. I sigh.

"Why don't you come over tonight around 6? We can talk then."

"All right. It's a date." He hangs up. I sigh, hanging up my cell and put it back on my bed. I get off my bed, looking at my feet. When I look up again, Castiel is right in front of me. He makes a motion as if he's going to put his arm around me, but then he thinks better of it. He just takes my hand in his, patting it gently. I look at him, pleasantly surprised by the kind gesture.

"I am sorry, have I crossed a third line?"

"Yeah, but I didn't mind this time. Thanks, Cass." I kiss his cheek. He blinks at me in response. I give him a half-smile and go downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast.
