Mei yawned as she was awakened by a stream of sunlight from the cave entrance. She smiled a little, thinking back on the previous night while looking at Gabu. She found his peaceful expression as he slept rather cute. Careful not to wake him, she lifted his paw of herself and quietly walked to the cave entrance. Looking out through the gap she could see that the weather had cleared up. To her relief, she couldn't smell anyone in the area. Out of curiosity, she tried to move the boulder Gabu had used to block the entrance. After a few minutes without managing to move the rock even a inch, she let out a sigh of frustration. Gabu had made it look so easy.

"Having trouble?"

"Oh sorry Gabu... did I wake you?"

"No, I've been awake for little while."

Seeing the huge grin on Gabu's face, she felt blood rushing to her face. This made his grin widen even more which in turn deepened her blush. She coughed a little before continuing their conversation.

"Well... the weather has cleared up and I think the coast is clear."

"Yeah... we should probably get you home, I bet your herd is getting worried..."

Gabu stopped talking and they both sat silent for a while. He just sat and stared at her, seemingly lost in thought.

"So, are you going to help me with this?"

"Oh, sure... sorry!"

Mei stepped aside from the boulder, giving Gabu space to start pushing it. To Mei's surprise, Gabu didn't seem to be able to move it as easily as the previous night. He managed to move it a few inches before it rolled back, knocking him over.

"Gabu, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, the rock just seems a bit heavier than before, maybe I just need more rest."

She doubted his explanation since he had so easily moved it before. He couldn't become that tired and the rock certainly couldn't have pushed him back by it self. Inspecting the entrance, she realized that the cave floor sloped slightly. This made it much harder to push, but it could probably be moved with a bit more force.

"Hey Gabu, are you ready to try again?"

"I guess so but I'm not sure if it will work."

"Don't worry, I'll help you!"

Gabu looked a little surprised when Mei walked up to the boulder and started pushing it. He doubted that they would be able to move it even with their combined strength. Her stubbornness was admirable and since he knew he couldn't disappoint her with a "no", he walked up besides her to help. It was still a lot harder than the previous night but easier than by himself. After a few pushes they managed to move it over the slope, away from the entrance. They both celebrated this victory with a quick kiss before wandering through Boro Boro hill, careful of making sure they were alone.

"Isn't it nice to finally be outside?

"Yeah, I'm glad we got out when we did, that cave was starting to get rather stuffy."

"You're stronger than you look, you know!"

"Oh, really?"

"Absolutely, I bet you would be able to beat me up if you wanted to!"

Mei laughed a little at Gabu's remark but was surprised that Gabu seemed quiet serious. He was clearly underestimating his own ability. As they continued walking, Mei noticed Gabu was a bit quieter than usual. When she turned to talk to him she noticed he'd been staring at her again. He quickly averted her gaze and looked down at his paws.

"Do I have something in my face or what?"

"Huh?"

"You were staring at me."

"Oh... was I? Sorry..."

"Hey, Gabu!"

"What?"

"Do I look ugly to you?"

"Why... would you ask me that?"

"There was obviously a reason for you to stare and I don't know what my face looks like to a wolf."

"Well... I don't know about other wolves but I don't think you're ugly at all."

"You don't?"

"No way! Your sparkling eyes, your cute nose and your warm smile... you're just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside!"

"Thank you! You know, I would just have been flattered if you told me why you were staring!"

"I know, sorry."

"You don't have to apologize, silly! You're the most beauthiful person to me in every way!"

Mei's words made Gabu's heart flutter a little and put a wide grin on his face. They both moved a little closer to each other and leaned their heads against the other's as they kept on walking.

"So Gabu, where are you going to stay now that you can't go back to Baku Baku valley?"

"Well, I know a small forest near Sawa Sawa mountain were hardly anyone hunt, I can probably stay there."

"That's sounds good, where is exactly?"

"If you go from Sawa Sawa mountain in the opposite direction of from Fuka Fuka valley you'll find a single large oak on top of a hill. Once you reach it, just turn to left and keep walking straight until your there."

They both stopped as they reached the very edge of Boro Boro hill.

"I just realized we won't be able to send any more messages. We should probably stick to meeting at that forest."

"Well, see you there then, bye!"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow!"

Mei gave Gabu a farewell hug and nuzzled into his warm and comforting pelt. She gave him a peck on his cheek before they let each other go and walked off in different directions.
