Utter darkness. Utter fear. His emotions succumbed to one person whom he had no genuine memory of. Was he missing an important piece of the puzzle? Or was he just so desperate to find something to hold precious? It made no sense to him. Whatever trick was being played, it was working magnificently. Time wasn't in his vocabulary. He had no clock ticking to his mind, body, and soul. Though notwithstanding the fact it felt he was losing time to eliminate her. It would only be a matter of moments before he gives up. Whatever choice he decides to make, he'll end up turning insane.

Time is up. His void melts into his arm.

His permeable skin is the exact shade of Shu's, an exact replica in Shu's memory expanse. He knows that he definitely possessed Shu's memories, but they were stored distinctively. It's as if they were there by default. They were injected and forced into his head, yet he embraces the memories as if they're his own. Was his purpose, really his purpose? What he wanted most in life, was this it? To follow every order of Mana and become the king with an empty memory? Was that the key to become human? He bombards himself with thoughts and contemplates with himself. His complex questions with no apparent answer still serve him no merit.

She escapes his grasp, and flees.

Abruptly, he feels something strange. The clone raises his left hand to see that his pinky finger is fading. He clears his throat for a moment, and tries to take a second look. His ring finger, and then his middle finger were disappearing rapidly. Slowly but surely he was disappearing into thin air. Like dust blowing in the wind, so was he. Until finally, his remains sink deep down the dark abyss of what made him be. He was devastated, to be lost in an empty expanse with nothing to see, and nothing to feel.

After the bitter moment of silence the clone awakens back in one piece as gathering dust begin to reform his shape. He appears to be elsewhere, but the clone's vision is blurred. He feels no weight, seemingly as if he were a shadow. The warm grass tickles his skin, and the sun makes him feel a bit feverish. The clone lays on his back, facing the sky, unaffected by gravity and unaware of the rest of his surroundings. The absent sound of violence leaves him at peace for a moment. He closes his eyes, and opens them as he exhales. His vision quickly clears and he feels the ever familiar presence of someone just in the distance.

Like a ghost, he flies by the half-dead Shu, who was weakened from their last battle, caressing Yoshino's hair by the cemetery. The replica asks himself, Why does it feel so natural? Why does it feel that I am strangely attached to them, that every move that Shu makes is as if it were my own? It took the clone a while to realize, but he had that feeling ever since the moment he met him. It was an indirect feeling, and it was constantly suspended from his mind as it had apparently gone against his will, and purpose.

The apparently invisible clone kneels down to the two with a heavy heart. Pursing his lips, he recollects the events of what had happened. He finally discovers the answer as to what had distraught him this whole time.

He was a fragment of Shu, not a clone, but a true part of him that was missing. He was Shu's other conscience, brought together in the disguise of a clone, extracted from a memory and given life for Yuu's purpose of creating a new race.

Ah, how foolish the clone felt. What was he to accomplish as a human when the people he followed were aiming to destroy the human race? Whatever was happening, the power of the group of Da'ath was powerful. To be able to extract memories and to recreate them into physical beings is extraordinary. Da'ath's Utopia, a mysterious and otherworldly place. The ancient group of Da'ath probably knew how to create the bridge between Da'ath's Utopia and the Human world.

It all made sense to the clone now, Yuu purposely lured Shu into this Utopia because he was the bridge to the human world. The clone himself could not be capable of creating the new race without his whole.

Yuu's plan to overtake Shu was working perfectly, except for one unknown detail. No matter how many beings Yuu was to produce from the memory expanse, each and every fragment of Shu loved Inori.

He begins to feel stronger, and enlightened. As this strange occurrence takes place, Shu also begins to be affected by this new-found power. Without thinking, the clone draws his void and inserts his arm into Shu's chest. He is quickly enveloped with the extreme power of all the collected voids in Shu's chest, to select Hare's healing void which was once known as Lover's Bandages. With all the determination he could muster, he clears his mind and attempts to draw the void in order to heal Shu.

Nothing happens.

He takes a deep breath, and closes his eyes. His void luckily had the power not to completely absorb all the collected voids at once, but instead take one at a time, which in certain cases could be beneficial or extremely lacking. Out of the blue the clone feels the soft touch of someone else's hand. It surprised him, and it was familiarly feminine like.

He turns to his side to see that it is a brown-eyed brunette, in a red school uniform.

"Daijoubu dayo. It's okay." she comfortably whispers to him. Her warm breath made him feel she was well alive. Brushing her fingertips across his sleeve, she gently grasps his wrist. The clone eyes to her, and she nods. He frees his hand from Shu's chest and feels the healing power of Hare's void. With her help, he was able to draw her former void.

The petite young woman proceeds to smile at the clone, brimming with happiness. Her eyes stare into his with satisfaction, and she quickly disappears into the wind.

The clone finally knew what he had to do.

Hello everyone, I've returned! It's been a long hiatus. I honestly gave up on this story. Looking back at the chapters, I really thought I needed to work on my writing skills.
