Here's another, I apologize for the delay, college is turning out to be more work than I had anticipated. As per usual, leave a review if you like, that sort of thing. Let me know if anything pleases or displeases you.

Atomika, The Booth.

"Syncing, syncing-"

"Shut up, Atomika!" Maddie exclaimed, swiveling about in her chair. "That got old the first time you did that!"

The DJ smirked. Annoying Maddie always threw some light into his day. He hit a few more buttons on his panel, and turned to the other commentator. "You ready?"

She made a small pff sound. "You kidding? I got 8 years of DJing and commentating under my belt, some of it in Aspen."

"That doesn't mean you can just blitz away without a care. This takes discipline." Atomika reminded her. "This is SSX you're talking about."

"So? It's a snowboarding league, nothing more than that. I'm perfectly in my niche." Maddie replied confidently.

"This isn't just an ordinary league Mad. This is some of the best action sports athletes in the world." He countered, throwing in her nickname, the one she hated.

Her eyes flashed. "Don't call me that." She spun back around, bouncing slightly in her chair.

Atomika marveled how a woman in her early thirties could have the energy and spirit of a college kid. He felt a bit of envy. "You can't just bounce your way through a broadcast, you know."

Maddie gave him an amused look, then scoffed. "Idiot, I only bounce between broadcasts. Other that, I'm dead on all the time."

Atomika felt a surge of irritation. If he wasn't annoying her, she was annoying him. How the hell Ormstead had ever thought it was a good idea to bring her on was beyond him.

Granted, she wasn't hard on the eyes. Maddie was a good medium between skinny and curvy; her skin was fair, and her hair was a solid black. Her eyes were a shade of blue so strange that he sometimes could've sworn they were purple. She dressed like a DJ as well; headphones around her neck, sometimes a beanie on her head. She wore baggy ski pants, boots, and a t-shirt to the studio nearly every day.

Maddie was a study, no doubt, but you could only study her for so long without her sass interrupting your concentration.

"Remember, you're up first with the weather-"

"-then you continue with the race news. Relax, Atomika, I don't forget my scripts."

He snorted. "Sure you don't."

Her eyes narrowed dangerously. "You dispute that?"

"Read your script, right now, without looking at it." Atomika challenged.

Maddie lifted her nose in defiance, and plainly read the entirety of her script, without stumbling once. She then gave Atomika a fierce look, as if she wanted to set his clothes on fire.

"Fine, but that was only one script." He countered.

Maddie threw her hands in the air in a helpless gesture, grumbling to herself as she turned back round.

Atomika turned round as well, hands going to the buttons and dials as he prepared for the next broadcast.

Zoe, Green Lodge

Mac and Kaori still weren't talking to each other.

Zoe didn't know how Mac felt, she didn't give a damn, had never liked him. But Kaori had come to her multiple times, unhappy and embarrassed. The poor girl's emotions were a mess. Zoe felt like strangling Mac, or trying to convince the two of them to just hook up and cut out the drama.

Seriously, it was making her nauseous.

Moby popped in her doorway as she was getting her gear on. She only gave him a glowing smile. She didn't care if her Englishman snuck a few peeks in. They had seen each other with much less on anyways.

"How's Kaori?" Moby asked.

"Still not doing very well. I want to hit Mac, hard, for being an idiot."

"I'll do it." He offered. Moby had never liked Mac.

"Just knock him down in the race, that'll show him."

Moby grinned. "Will do." He went to grab another piece of her gear, handing it to her.

She muttered her thanks, and cinched her last few straps. Moby handed her the black and red board that she used, and they were off, going down the mountain towards Geronimo.

Atomika, The Booth

"-and it's a crystal clear day, not even a cloud in sight, great day for boarding on the death-dives of Geronimo. Later forecasts predict snow, and high winds exceeding 50 miles per hour, so I would recommend getting inside after the race is over. This is where I leave you, and give it to your favorite DJ for the race news."

Atomika hit his feed, and patched in. "Yet again, we got perfect attendance, all seventeen boarders are here, right on time for the race to begin."

Maddie watched him from her corner of the room.

"We got the first round coming in five, it's Allegra, Viggo, Griff, Brodi, and Luther!"

Viggo, Geronimo

This had to be some sort of sadistic joke. No way were they pitting him against the lumbering mountain yet again.

But as Viggo approached the gates, so did Dwayne-Grady. Looked like Viggo had been screwed yet again. Griff didn't look happy either.

Allegra elbowed him. "This is your chance."

Yeah right. If he tried to take the hippopotamus down, he'd be flattened. Luckily, he had a trick up his sleeve.

Go!

Viggo had a fantastic launch. Allegra had had one of her unlucky fidgets and had missed her opportunity. Griff was level with him, so was Brodi. Viggo could sense Luther behind them all, like a rock wall was bearing down the slope.

The initial drop was insane. Viggo barely dodged the spine of rock, shooting to the left while everyone else went right. Allegra shouted something he didn't hear.

The Swede hit the rail, zipping through the trees at a fantastic do-or-die speed, narrowly dodging thick trucks and grasping branches.

He flew, literally flew, since the rail jerked upwards at it's conclusion, and hit the snow speeding downslope. From here, the course embodied the body of a sidewinder, twisting down sharply declining slopes. Viggo hit the first, the second, the third.

He had no idea what place he was in. He blitzed past the next three turns to come out onto the grand straightaway. Boxes of fans roared as they saw him fly out of the final turn.

Then he heard Nelly. "And it's Rolig in first at the half mark!"

Sweet.

The cheers of his fans emboldened him, and when he saw the Out of Bounds glass to his right, he didn't hesitate to punch right through it.

It nearly screwed him. The trail was dangerous and sketchy in the extreme, but he came out at a good spot, past the second big drop and the ensuing ramps and twists.

He was nearly there, but then his MComm gave two sharp pulses he could feel through his pants. Two people were coming up on him. He risked a glance behind. It was Allegra and Griff, still way back, just getting out of the ramps and twists as he was leaving the second section of the course entirely, but it still worried him. They must be blazing incredibly hard to have gotten this close.

The last section was just a massive drop, no curves, no tricks, just one last plunge.

Allegra and Griff didn't even come close. Viggo crossed the finish, and pumped his fist as the crowd roared.

Moby Jones, Geronimo.

Four races later, it was time for the final round. He and Zoe had formed their usual tag team, crushing anyone who tried to pass them. Elise and Nate had done the same.

Allegra had finished just behind Zoe in the semis, and young Griff had done the same.

They all walked up to the starting gate. Moby felt confident. He had gotten the best times out of all of them on this course. He could do it a third time.

To his left, Allegra and Zoe conversed in low tones, both shooting sharp looks at Elise and Nate. The Bombshell and the Mountain Man did the same. Moby gave Nate a very even, deadpan stare. If he messed with Zoe, then the Englishman would have his head.

They braced at the gates, waiting for the green light.

Go!

They took off; Griff was between him and Nate. The kid looked none too happy about it. He flashed Nate a nervous look.

They sped down the slope, and all tried to get to the left.

It was instant blood and chaos. Griff got knocked down by Zoe as the kid tried to get to a rail, and Moby intercepted Nate as the Mountain Man swooped down on his Royal Payne. They exchanged blows, both landing solid punches but neither of them falling. Elise and Allegra tangled, and both went down.

He and Nate separated as they both hit separate rails.

When they came out onto the track again, Zoe was way ahead of them both. Their tussle had slowed them down. They kept their distance as they went through turn after turn.

But on the fifth, they came to blows again, and Nate was brought down.

The crowd roared again as Moby went through the straightaway, where he learned, from the announcement that Zoe wasn't too far ahead.

He didn't bother with the Out of Bounds this time round, and he would regret it.

As he went through the final ramp, he saw Nate speeding away towards the final part of the track, followed closely by Elise.

Moby leaned forward and went as fast as he could, but to no avail. Nate and Elise didn't manage to catch Zoe, so they bagged third and second. Moby was forced to settle for fourth. Allegra followed in less than a minute, followed closely by Griff.

Another race down. So far, He and Zoe were tied for overall points, but there was plenty of competition to go.
