Mori carried Crona into music room 3, and laid him down on one of the red couches. Everyone, save Kyoya who was on the phone with a construction team, gathered around Crona wondering if he was going to be ok. Haruhi and Tamaki got some towels and disinfectant from the nurse's office. Tamaki didn't want Haruhi getting too close to Crona's wounds after everything they've seen from his blood, but Haruhi ignored the blond and started to disinfect the deep gash on Crona's stomach.
"Should we call a doctor?" Haruhi asked. Crona's blood looked and felt more like oil, and she couldn't tell if what she was doing was helping Crona or just wiping the thick liquid away.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Mori said. If they did get a doctor over how would they be able to explain Crona's energies, his blood, and Ragnarok if he appears?
"Well we can't just leave him like this." Tamaki said in a serious tone. "Does anyone remember that number Crona used on the mirror?"
"Are you thinking about calling Lord Death, Boss?" Hikaru asked.
"Does anyone have a better idea?" Tamaki said in an almost angry tone. "Crona risked his life for us, and I refuse to just stand here and watch him suffer."
"I wrote the number down." Kyoya said while putting away his phone. Kyoya opened his black book to the page he was looking for, and then handed it to Tamaki. "But you do realize Crona won't be happy that we interfered."
"He can get mad at me when he's awake and I know he's alright." Tamaki took the book from his friend.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, get the mirror." Tamaki ordered. The twins didn't argue and did as they were told. Once the mirror was present Tamaki wrote the number on the glass, and everyone felt their hearts skip when they saw the glass turn black.
"Wazzup? Wazzup?" Lord Death appeared sounding tired and yawning, "Oh my, the Ouran students! So what do I owe the pleasure?" Lord Death asked excitedly.
"Um, Sir, we need your help, or well, Crona does." Tamaki answered.
Lord Death expression changed, "Whats the matter?" He asked concerned. The hosts all frowned and moved to the side so Lord Death could see an unconscious Crona on the couch.
"Oh my."
"He was fighting a really powerful kishin egg, and then he just collapsed, after the kishin escaped." Haruhi explained, almost whispering the last part.
"Hold tight kids, I know exactly who can take care of him, one moment." Lord Death said before the mirror went back to normal. The hosts all looked at each other confused, but stayed put as they were told.
About half an hour later the mirror began to turn black on its own, "Hey look?" Hikaru said while shaking Kaoru awake. The hosts all stared at the mirror, and almost jumped when they saw a hand start to come threw. A second later a white haired man with a stitched face, a lab coat, and a giant screw threw his head appeared threw the mirror, "Hello." He spoke simply, turning the screw in his head. The man bent down and started looking intently at everyone of them, which didn't calm them down, "This is Ouran Academy right?" The man asked the pale hosts.
"Y-Yes." Haruhi answered. "D-did Lord death send you?"
"Yes. I'm professor Stein, a teacher from the DWMA." Stein introduced himself. "And this is-" Stein turned around to the mirror, "Marie?"
"One second!" A female voice called from the mirror, and then a blond women wearing a black and yellow dress with an eye patch came out, "H-Hello, sorry about that. I got a little stuck." She said embarrassed.
"Did your hips get stuck trying to get threw?" Stein asked with a weird smile.
"How dare you!? My skirt was caught on Lord Death's mirror!" Marie yelled at Stein, who was unfazed.
"Now where is Crona?" Stein looked past the students, and saw Crona on the red couch.
"Oh poor Crona." Marie's tone went from angry to concern. Stein tightened his grip on his medical bag, and the two walked past the hosts to Crona.
"By any chance could any of you tell me just how much blood he lost?" Stein asked.
"Probably a lot. I remember Crona fighting the kishin, and he was about to win, but then everything just went dark. I just kept hearing whispering and this weird music in my head, it was like..." Haruhi couldn't find the right word to describe it.
"Madness?" Stein asked while placing some tools on the coffee table.
"If you'd like I can get you a private room at one of the Ootori family hospitals?" Kyoya offered.
"That's very generous, but I think I will decline this time. Crona's injuries don't appear to be severe enough that I'll need to operate. This is mostly an examination to make sure Crona's powers haven't enveloped him."
"Well uh..." Hikaru started to speak but wasn't sure if what he was about to say was a good idea or not.
"If your going to tell me something you might want to hurry along." Stein said to the older twin.
Hikaru frowned, "Well its just, when we all finally came to. Crona had the kishin guy down, but.."
"But what?" Marie asked.
"He was acting kinda weird. Like not his normal self weird, but kinda dark."
"I suppose that's to be expected after so many blows, his body was probably just reacting to the stress it was enduring." Stein said while inspecting the gash on Crona's stomach, the wound looked a lot better than he was expecting.
"Hey, Doctor Stein?" Tamaki asked.
"Professor."
"Professor Stein, there was something else."
"Well?" Stein asked.
"The kishin, it escaped or it was saved by another kishin, so there are more here. Do you think Crona can fight them all himself?" Tamaki asked. He knew Crona would be upset if he asked for more help for him, but he already decided that he wasn't going to stand by while Crona got hurt. At least if there were more meisters here he'd know Crona would always have someone looking out for him.
"I will answer that in a moment." Stein said.
Stein lifted Crona into a sitting position and pulled the back of his shirt down slightly to look over his back,"Ragnarok can you hear me?" Stein spoke, but there was no sign of the creature.
"I guess they're both worn out." Marie mumbled, as she helped lay Crona back down. Haruhi looked at Marie's expression, and noted how motherly she looked as she starred at Crona. Marie ran a few fingers threw Crona's pink hair, and smiled slightly.
Stein looked up at the silent hosts, who were all waiting for him to answer. "Kids, what I'm about to tell you is not my place to say, but I'm going to anyway, so you may all understand a little more about your friend and what he is."
"Stein." Marie spoke like she was warning the professor, and he looked at Crona for a second.
The hosts stood silent. All of them, even Kyoya, had a second thought on weather or not what the professor was about to tell them was ok for them to hear, but they wanted to know more about their friend, and why he keeps refusing help.
"Crona is a one of a kind being, created for the soul purpose of becoming a Kishin." Stein lit a cigarette as he explained.
"Wait what! Crona's a kishin?" Kaoru asked.
"No. Crona never managed to become a full kishin but he is one of the most powerful meisters with in the DWMA." Marie said.
"From what we've seen he's very strong." Kyoya noted.
"What you've seen is probably nothing compared to what he's done in the past, or what he's capable of." Stein said.
"What do you mean?" Haruhi asked.
"Crona's body was infected with madness, the black blood, and then he had the Demon Sword Ragnarok implanted within his body. When we first met Crona he was unstable, and it almost destroyed him. If it weren't for his friends I'm not so sure he would be alive right now, and I believe its his feelings for those friends that are keeping him from wanting them to intervene."
"That makes no since. If he trusts them so much, if he trusts us, he shouldn't have a problem with anyone wanting to helping him." Haruhi said.
"Its the exact opposite. It's because Crona doesn't feel like they can trust him. I can't describe it exactly, but it seems to me that Crona is in a state of mind where he feels he has to prove himself. That is why Lord Death assigned him this mission, but that was before it was becoming the large threat it is now. I have faith in him, but If the problem keeps escalating we may have to send more meisters, especially if Crona becomes at risk of being consumed by madness."
"If that were to happen, what would happen to Crona." Haruhi asked.
Stein went silent as he thought about that question, "I don't know, but its an intriguing thought. I admit part of me would love to see that, but I know it wouldn't be a good scenario if it were to play out like that in the long run."
"Stein." Maria said in a cold tone as she glared at the Professor, "Crona is strong, and I believe he would never allow himself to go down a path of corruption." Marie spoke in a tone that seemed weirdly out of character for her.
Haruhi couldn't help but glare at Stein as well, which caused him to smile.
"What are you smiling at?" Haruhi asked.
"You just remind me of one of my other students, Maka Albarn." Stein put out his cigarette, and took one final look over at Crona. "I'd like to believe in Marie's words as well, but within the world of science I've learned to examine things very closely before I make a conclusion." Stein kept smiling at Marie and then at Crona. "Anyway Marie and I should probably be going now."
"So does that mean Crona is going to be ok?" Haruhi asked.
"He'll be fine for now. He should wake up in a few hours." Stein said. He and Marie started walking back towards the mirror.
"Wait." Kyoya said, causing the two adults to stop and turn to him. "Before the kishins left the one Crona fought, Hamelin, told us to look into the history of our school for answers, what does that mean?" Kyoya asked.
Marie looked at Stein who started turning the screw in his head, "I will discuss that with Lord Death, until you hear from us I wouldn't worry too much about it." Stein said.
The two adults turned to leave once more, but were then interrupted again, but this time by Tamaki, "Thank you Professor, and you as well Miss Marie." Tamaki said.
"No problem, just keep an eye on Crona. A lot of people, including myself, would hate for anything to happen to him. He's been pushing us all away, and I don't even think he know's he's doing it, but I have high hopes when all this is over Crona will be in a much better state than he has been." Marie said with a kind smile before she began to write Death's number on the mirror, and walked threw.
"Don't worry, the Ouran Host Club will take good care of him!" Tamaki said in his usual hyper tone.
"We'll hold you to that, because if not I would love to be able to dissect a human from this world in class." Stein said with a smile that sent chills up the host's spines. "Actually now that I think about it, maybe Lord Death would let me do that for class Monday? Maybe I can take one of the identical ones, you wouldn't mind would you?" Stein pointed at the now shaking Hitachiin twins.
"Wait what!?" The twins shouted while holding onto each other.
Marie's hand came back out of the mirror, and grabbed Stein's coat collar, "Get back here you jerk!" Marie pulled Stein in, and then the top part of her body reappeared, "Sorry kids. Thank you again for looking after Crona!" Marie said before she disappeared, and the mirror went back to normal.
"N-no prob." Haruhi said with a shocked expression.
The hosts decided to take Crona back to the Hitachiin mansion, since their parents were away and the twin maids were the least likely to ask questions. The hosts got Crona into bed, and they all stayed close while they waited for their friend to wake up.
