Daisuke's busy watering his orchids, fresh from Okinawa, when the blue-haired man comes again. He doesn't notice him, at first, too absorbed in his task, that when he hears the subtle throat clearing, he jumps in surprise.
"Wel—ow!" Daisuke rubs his head, casting a quick glare at the hanging water pots, and straightens to smile at the customer. "What can I do for you?" His smile grows wider at the sight of the blue-haired man standing next to the door, looking placid in a black jacket and the same impassive expression. He's been thinking about the blue-haired man since the latter's last appearance, he suddenly realizes with a slight blush.
"Flowers."
"Ah…yes." Daisuke smiles again. "Is there anything you'd prefer?"
Again, a slight lift of the shoulder. "Anything."
"Hmm…" Daisuke thinks carefully, mentally going through his shop. "Would lilies be all right?" It is summer, and his lilies are in season.
"That would be fine."
Daisuke busies himself with the lilies, picking out twelve of the freshest white and yellow ones he has, all too aware at the gaze on him. He gathers a few tall grass stalks and takes them to the counter, arranging them carefully and then wrapping them in cellophane and colorful tissue paper. "Here you go," he says.
The blue-haired man hands over his credit card, and he quickly rings up the purchase. Without another word, the man turns to leave.
"Wait!"
The blue-haired man turns, and Daisuke stammers, "W-what's your name?"
The man pauses, as if to hesitate, so Daisuke puts up his hands. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to!" He shuts his mouth when the blue-haired man looks at him, as if considering.
His heart sinks when the blue-haired man turns to go, but he perks up at the sound of his voice.
"Hiwatari. Hiwatari Satoshi."
