A/N: I'M BACK! I'm so sorry that haven't updated in months. I've been so busy and whenever I tried to write this chapter I wasn't pleased with it or I would totally rewrite it. And actually it was Young Reader who left a review telling me to ease off the Sam and Danny stuff for a chapter that helped me to get this chapter finished. SO YAY! Thank you Young Reader. Also thank you AJ for so many wonderful reviews and for the Author Confession question.

Author Confession: Who is your fave Danny Phantom character? From AJ

My favorite character is always Danny. Haha but if I took away the obvious answers I would have to say Jazz. I don't know, I just kinda relate to her and I have red hair like her too!

Glancing around the massive room, I see tables holding groups of friends, separating the school into small subdivisions or cliques. Windows line a wall letting in some natural light to this other wise dim cafeteria. Food was being served on the far left wall, no doubt probably serving up gross stereotypical food that no one really wants to eat. Sure enough the smell of meatloaf hits me. My nose wrinkles in distaste. How can people eat meat?

Searching the cafeteria, I try to spot Danny. No sign of him. I scan the room again thinking I may have missed him. Maybe we have a different lunch? I shuffle my feet not knowing whether to stay or go. Finally, I decide to leave the morbid cafeteria. Pushing open the doors, I step out into the hall and head to the library to go eat my lunch in peace.

"Danny!" I hear someone faintly call. "What's the hurry?" Footsteps echo through the halls. I pause mid-stride. Danny?Do I say I'm here?

"I was supposed to talk to Samantha about her attack, during lunch." I hear Danny say.

"Wait! What?" The footsteps stop. The boy's voice becomes very quiet. "You're going to tell her that-"

Danny cuts him off. "No Tucker. I wouldn't be so careless. I'm going to tell her what it said on the news about her attack. It's the least I can do, you know?" I edge to the wall trying to hear them better.

"Dude, you must feel really bad about that." Feel bad about what?

"Let's not talk about that. Okay?" Danny quickly says. "Come on. I don't need her running off on me again." Running off? Again?

"Dude, you so feel bad about it." About what? I mentally scream in frustration.

The footsteps start again. Faster than before. I hurriedly squeeze myself into the nearest corner, not wanting to be seen. What did all that mean?

Two figures pass in a blur and I am once again alone with only my thoughts. I cautiously step out of my hiding spot, not wanting them to still be in eye sight. How is it that the guy who was supposed to give me answers only made me ask more questions?

I contemplate going to the cafeteria, since Danny was still supposed to tell me about what it said on the news. Is it really worth it? I glance at my phone. Only 20 minutes of lunch left. Not enough time to get answers. Not enough time for my questions. Not enough time for much of anything.

I continue walking down the hall towards the library. I relax at how normal it felt to be left by myself. Well normally I have my voice. I sigh But then again I don't usually get attacked by ghosts... Or threatened by "Miss Popularity"... Or hear things that I probably shouldn't...Or-

My life hasn't exactly been normal since I got here... I pause in the middle of the hall. Glancing back down at my phone. 15 minutes. Maybe it is enough time to get a few of my questions answered...

Turning around, I begin to head back to the cafeteria.

"That goth girl is so going to get it." Wait, what?

"Paulina don't you think you are going a little overboard on this?" I hear a male voice say worriedly.

"Of course not!" Paulina's shrill voice echoes through the halls making me cringe at the sound. "She is trying to take him from me! I can't just let her get away with that. She has to know who she is messing with."

"But maybe she doesn't know-"

"Shut up and get it ready, she could be here any minute." I edge towards their voices and peer around the corner to see what they were up to.

I couldn't see much but I was able to make out a camera in the corner and a broad, blonde boy in a red letterman putting a bucket of something on top of the cafeteria door. Not exactly the most ingenious plan... It must be more complicated than a bucket of water on me, right?

A bubbly pop ringtone brings me out of my thoughts. Paulina takes out her phone and holding it up to her ear, she answers it. "What?" She snaps. There's a moment of silence before she speaks again. "Yes it's ready. Now we just have to wait for the little whore to get here."

Did she just call me a whore? I chuckle to myself. She doesn't know me at all.

"WAIT. NO!" Paulina screeches into her phone as the door to the cafeteria opens and the bucket tips over pouring a thickened black liquid on Star. I hear a bang and feathers and sparkles fly everywhere, most of them landing on Star who stands there with a look of shock and disbelief on her face.

I look on awe-struck as Paulina storms over to Star, "You messed everything up! Why are you such an idiot? You're lucky we weren't finished, or you would be wishing you were dead right now!" I could see tears begin to form in Star's eyes and her lip begin to quiver. "Oh suck it up!" Paulina shouts at her. "You knew we were doing this and yet you decide to walk out here to help!" She sneers.

Tears were falling freely from Star's eyes now. With a sob she sprints away heading directly towards me. I stand frozen not knowing what to do as she passes me with her hands covering her face and sobs wrenching through her.

"It's all ruined now!" Paulina kicks the bucket. Her foot sliding on the on the strange liquid and she falls flat on her face, only making her shriek and curse loudly.

"Karma's a b!tch, isn't it?." I mutter, watching the scene Paulina was making. No one deserved what she had just done to Star, even if it was actually meant for me. It doesn't matter how awful they are or how rude or how much of a b!tch they are. No one deserves to be treated like that. Ever.

Turning on my heel. I make the split second decision to go after Star.

I cautiously open the door to the girl's bathroom, "Star?" I call out quietly when I hear sobs coming from the furthest stall. I make my way to the door and slowly open the door to find the mess that was Star on the ground, with her knees drawn up to her chest and her sobs shaking her body.

Bending down, I tentatively reach out a hand and place it on her shoulder, which was somewhat cleaner then the rest of her. I stumble over my words not sure what to say to her. "Star. Umm... It's Sam. Err Samantha."

"Wh- what do y- you want?" She manages to say in between her sobs.

"I saw what Paulina did. I know it was supposed to be for me. I'm sorry that you got put through that." My throat gets tight. I felt awful that she had to go through all that when it was meant for me. "I'm sorry." I breathe.

I sit on the floor, opposite of Star, and pull my knees to my chest, looking at Star. Star lifts her head, tears pouring from her eyes. "Why didn't you st- stop her?" She chokes out.

"I didn't know really what was going on! I had just found out it was me and the next thing I know you walked through the door!" My defense goes down, and my throat gets tight again. "I'm so sorry. If I would've known... I'm sorry Star. Okay? I'm sorry." Tears begin to form in my eyes, I quickly wipe them away.

"It's okay." I just barely hear her breathe out. "I'm sorry too." She wipes her eyes and gives me a small smile.

My lips turn upwards just a little, in a small semblance of a smile. " C'mon, let's get you to a shower." I hold out my hand for her to take.

Pulling herself up she says, "One problem. I don't have extra clothes with me."

"Don't worry. I'll get you some clothes. If we hurry we'll only miss fifth period."

She laughed and gave me a hug, making sure not to touch my injured arm. "You're the best!" She pulls away and I look down at my now filthy top. "OH!" Star exclaims. "I'm sorry!"

"It's okay, Star. Go to the locker room and get a shower I'll get us some new clothes." Star gives me one last smile before she runs off to find a shower. Pulling out my phone, I dial my mom's stylist. "Hey Chloë. It's Sam. Can you get me an extra outfit and shirt and bring it up to the school?" I listen as Chloe begins to rant on colors and designs. I cut her off. "Anything is fine for the outfit and just bring a regular t-shirt. Okay? Bye."

I've missed this Sam. My eyes grow wide. No... I state in disbelief. It had seemed like forever since I heard that voice. Hello?

But no reply came.
