Lime's POV

'This is it,' I thought to myself as I stood in front of the school. I took a deep breath and smiled. Another year of school. I observed the school building, seeing that it four floors, blue windows, and a fountain in the entrance of the school. My light green T-shirt slightly swished as a breeze rushed past me, making the trees' leaves fall. Autumn was my favorite season, aside from from all the others.

I looked back at the parking lot, where Gohan had disappeared not to long ago. He had picked me up from my village, asking if he could fly me to school and back. My parents weren't home at the time, so my Grandpa was the one that Gohan asked. Grandpa agreed with a smile, putting all his trust in Gohan.

I knew that he didn't think me as a little kid anymore, but I was glad that he was still protective of me. Especially with what happened to both my parents all those years ago. I had thank Gohan for everything, when I first thanked him for saving the world and my parents, he only denied that he didn't save world, Mr. Satan did.

I was confused, how could it have been Mr. Satan if he was beat up on the first try?

Gohan said that Mr. Satan used all his power to defeat Cell, and in the end, ended up defeating him. At the time, I was both confused and angry. I crossed my arms, just like when he told me that Mr. Satan had saved the Earth.

"That's not true and I know it!" I yelled, my anger raising. "There is no way that that man was able to beat Cell! I saw you! The way that you started beating Cell! There is no way that you didn't save the world!"

Gohan stood there, flabbergasted. At that point, he knew that I could see through his lie. I wasn't like any of those people who were gullible enough to believe that some guy who was beaten by Cell in ONE punch, saved the world, and not the 'Golden Warrior'. It was just ridiculous!

"I-I well, I-" Gohan sighed, as he knew that there was no way he could convince the girl in front of him. He gave a light smile. "Why won't you believe me?"

"Because..." I said, giving him a thumbs up, "There is no way a buffoon like him could beat Cell like you could." Gohan laughed at that, which resulted in me laughing as well. It was then I realized that really, Gohan was just like any other guy -hence the fact that he was half-human- but that he had let Mr. Satan take all the credit because Gohan wanted to live a normal, human life. When the laughter died, Gohan held out his hand.

"Could you please keep this a secret, Lime?" He asked me seriously, his eyes pleading for trust. I smiled, and shook his hand in mine.

"Of course! Besides, it's not everyday a girl becomes friends with the Earth's savior, 'The Golden Warrior'." Gohan lightly chuckled at the nickname.

And that's when I thought, the Gohan and I would be good friends.

'From the way you're describing him, you'll both be more than friends,' a part of my voice said and I blushed. Where did that come from?!

'Shut up!' I told it, knowing full well how stupid I was talking to my 'inner voice'. 'When he first saved me after I realized he wasn't a pervert, maybe I had thought about it, but I'm older now. There's no time to think about that anymore.'

'You really are stupid huh?'

'I'm not!' I mentally yelled back.

'Says the one whose talking back to me...' I growled. "Just shut up will you!" I froze as I felt many eyes began to peer and gaze at me. My face turned even redder as I frantically waved my arms. "Nothing to see here! Just go back to your business, pretend I'm not here!" I said awkwardly as I sweat-dropped. Most of them shrugged and turned back to what they were doing.

"Phew," I said to myself. "That was close." The school bell rung, and that's when I noticed that Gohan still wasn't here yet. 'Where could he be?' I thought. 'He told me that he was going to show me something that he got from Bulma...' I sighed, 'Sorry Gohan, but I don't want to be late on the first day.' As I grabbed my tan backpack that had only one large strap, I saw something golden quickly reach the roof access.

I looked around me, had anybody else seen that. But all the other teenagers acted normally, so I quickly sprinted to the roof access, already knowing the Chi's owner.

Gohan's POV

"Phew!" I said, as I landed on the roof access. I instantly turned back into my regular form, still checking to see if anyone saw me enter super saiyan. That was a close one. As I walked to the door, I felt a Chi start coming toward me. The Chi was familiar, so it didn't surprise me when Lime was the one who busted out the door.

"Hey!" I said as I raised my hand. Lime took deep breaths and looked up at me.

"You need to be a lot more careful." She told me, as she began to breathe regularly, a hand on her hip. "I saw you fly up on the roof, in Super Saiyan form. But I don't think anyone else did."

"Really?" Gohan's eyes widened as he groaned in embarrassment. "I thought I mastered my skills of stealth perfectly..."

Lime lightly laughed when suddenly her eye's widened. "The bell already rang!" Lime quickly grabbed onto my arm and dragged down the stairs.

"Class already started?!" I frantically asked her. Mom would kill me if I were late to class on the first day of school!

"We'll be late if you keep on-woah!" I quickly carried Lime bridal style and ran past different hallways. "Which is our first class?" I asked, to which she pointed to me just down the hall. I ran as normally as a human could, though it would've been easier if I didn't have to, but on mom's and Bulma's orders I had too.

We both stopped in front of a door and I opened it, revealing quite a big classroom.

Many eyes were on Lime and I as I gently set Lime down. A blonde lady with her hair tied in a high pony tail looked at us in curiosity. She fixed her pointed red glasses and while holding the book in her hand asked, "You're late." She said flatly, semi-glaring at us.

Lime and I were about to apologize when she interrupted us. "Since you two seem to have been in a rush, and we're now doing introductions, why don't you two go first?"

Both Lime and I stiffened. Bulma had told the us not to attract any attention, since Videl already seemed suspicious of us.

"Well, we um...I..." Lime took a deep breath and looked at all the pair's of eyes looking at her. "I'm Lime Lao. I live in Chazke Village. It's a pleasure to meet you." Lime bowed respectively but I saw her stiffen when we both heard murmurs and whispers.

"She says she lives in the Chazke Village..." One whispered.

"Isn't that, like, hours away from here...?!"

"How the hell is she here...? Apartment maybe?" Another silently asked, though I could hear from my Saiyan hearing.

"She looks hot, so maybe she's a stripper of some sort around here. Maybe that's how she pays her rent." A few snickers reached my ears and I clenched my fists. I watched as Lime tried not to look at the eye's looking at her, her hands gripping her t-shirt. I could tell by the way her eyes had a bit of anger to it that she heard the last comment.

But I realized that there was some other emotion in it.

Hatred?

Misery?

It hit me when I saw water slowly build up in her eyes. Though not a single drop fell.

Sadness.

I growled at the rows of student, trying to locate the person who would dare call Lime that. 'How could they. Whoever said will-' A hand touched my shoulder, and I turned to see Lime lightly smiling and shaking her head. Without even using words I know what she meant.

'Don't do it.'

The sound of tapping heels reached my ears along with the sound of a cleared throat. I turned to see my teacher looking at me impatiently.

"We're waiting." She said simply and I nodded. I looked at Lime one last time before it was my turn to introduce myself.

"My name is Son Gohan. I live in 439 East District." I paused a while before clenching my right fists and looking up at the rows of students watching and whispering about me curiously. Anger began to suddenly build up inside of me.

I flashed them all an angry glare, "And if any of you dare hurt Lime in any way or form, I will personally deal with all of you." My voice said menacingly, that even I didn't recognize it.

My glare lessened when I realized what I had done. I mentally scolded myself, but at the same time, felt a bit of ease. But I began to grow uncomfortable again when I saw all the gaping stares from the students, the teacher, and Lime.

'This is bad...' I thought. I nervously said the only thing that I thought was appropriate at a situation like this. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Everyone sweat-dropped as I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly. 'Did anyone buy it?!' I thought, as I started sweating bullets.

The teacher just sighed at the two of us, and pondered about something. She must've thought about something about Lime and I because the next words she said changed the view of us from the class.

"Since you all offended Mr. Son's girlfriend, and he seems to be her protector, I believe that the two should sit together, BUT," She turned to look at both our blushing and shocked faces. "One one condition."

The whole class was silent. The teacher went on. "You two are not to have too many public displays of affection, nor are you two aloud to talk while I'm teaching just because I decided to put you two together. Is that clear?"

Lime was the first to speak up. "B-But, Miss, umm...?"

"Miss Hamilton." The teacher told Lime.

"Well, Miss Hamilton," Lime's face was a dark shade of red, as she began fiddling with her badge. (A.N/ I guess it wasn't very important, but Gohan and Videl both wore Orange Star High School badges in the anime, but I don't think they wore it in the manga though. But yeah, they're real.) "G-Gohan and I aren't...dating." Miss Hamilton was mildly surprised, I could tell, by the way her eyes widened a fraction of an inch, but she just smiled.

"Whatever you say." Was all she said. She pointed to the 6th row of students, where Lime and I saw a blonde girl and boy, who looked at us curiously.

"Sharpner, Erasa, raise your hands." The two blondes raised their hands. Miss Hamilton looked at us, "You two will be sitting beside them. Though, Ms. Videl sits next to Erasa, so please skip a seat from them."

We both nodded, and began walking up the steps to the sixth row. "Thanks," she told me half-way to our row. A light smile played on her face, her green eyes looked at me softly, they almost seemed to glow beautiful when her face was shined on. My face began to heat up, and I had to look away.

"You would have done the same for me." Was all I could say, hoping the blush would disappear, and Lime hummed in agreement.

When we finally reached the sixth row, I saw the blonde guy, Sharpner was it?, smirking at us both. His eyes scanning the two of us.

'But why did he only look at me for a moment?' I thought.

That's when I noticed that he wasn't looking at me. He was checking out Lime. A weird sort of anger bubbled inside me, and I forced it down. A frown etched on my face.

"Hey there, hot stuff." I heard him say, with a small growl at the end, almost huskily. My eyes flickered over to Lime. She was uncomfortable, I could tell by the way she just looked at him. Her eyes looked at Sharpner's with annoyance, a frown made it's way to her face.

"Quit it, Sharpner. Leave the poor girl alone." My attention went to the blonde girl, who looked annoyed at Sharpner. She scowled at him, but her eyes softened when she looked at the two of us. I presumed that this was Erasa.

"I'm sorry. But this creep just has some issued when it comes to girls-"

"Hey!" Sharpner exclaimed.

"But just ignore him." Erasa finished, and waved for us to come to our seats. Lime and I followed, thought I kept a watchful eye at Sharpner. Sharpner must've known what I was doing, because he just growled at me, flicked his gaze over to Lime, and turned back to Miss Hamilton.

As we both skipped a seat just like Miss Hamilton told us to, I took a seat next to the empty chair while Lime sat right next to me. We were both pretty happy over the fact that we weren't far away from each other, but I the bubbling feeling of anger came back when I saw how some guys began to stare at her, and whisper about her.

I took a glance at Lime.

Lime didn't seem to notice at all, as she was just listening intently to Miss Hamilton. The same feeling of some sort of anger returned to me, and I couldn't help but force it back down again.

'I'll have to ask Bulma about this feeling later,' I thought, as I began to listen to Miss Hamilton's lesson. 'Maybe she can tell me what this feeling is.'

The door was heard open, all the students turned to the door and even Miss Hamilton stopped her lesson to look at the interrupter. I tensed when I saw who it was, and forced down a gulp of nervousness.

Videl Satan had entered the classroom.

Lime's POV

Miss Hamilton just nodded at Videl, and returned back to her lesson. I tilted my head confusingly. 'Shouldn't she have gotten scolded?' I thought, as I watched her slowly walk up the steps passed the rows.

As she was passing, I began to notice that she was staring at something, or rather, someone. I slowly followed her eye line, and was met with the person that was very important to me.

She was eyeing Gohan.

Her blue eyes, I saw, were literally eyeing him, but I didn't think it was in a romantical way. The way her eyes almost glared at him, almost as if she was noticing suspicious about him. She then stopped at our row.

At first, I was confused as to why she stopped at our row. Was it to talk to Gohan? That's when realization hit me.

She was the student who had the empty seat next to Gohan.

I mentally slapped myself for not knowing the whole time. Surely, she was just remembering about that time when she had first met Goten, Gohan and I...right? I turned to Gohan and was about to ask about it, when I suddenly noticed how tensed he looked.

'Why?' Was the only word repeating in my head. I saw Gohan forcefully looking away from her, he was nervous, I could tell. The way his eyes looked at Miss Hamilton intently, not even sparing a glance at Videl; the way he fidgeted in seat uncomfortably, and by the way he looked like he was a nervous wreck.

"G-Gohan?" I breathed his name out, not even knowing why I did. Gohan's eyes shifted toward mine, and he gave me a nervous smile.

"What is it, Lime?" He asked, his smile began to waver, but he forced it back up. I frowned at him. 'Why is he acting this way?' I thought.

My eyes flickered over to Videl. She looked as if she was paying her full attention to Miss Hamilton, but I could see through that. She was hearing our every word.

I came to a decision, and reached into my backpack. I pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil from my bag, and ripped out a small piece of paper. I put the rest of the un-ripped paper back into my backpack.

With the pencil, I began to write what I wanted to say but couldn't say out loud, folded the paper and gave it to Gohan. He gave me a curious and confused look.

The bell rang. All the students including Gohan and I grabbed our backpacks and filed out of the classroom. Gohan and I had only this period different. He had Geometry while I had History.

Before I could even start walking to my period; Gohan grabbed my hand. "Wait," he said, and pulled me near a couple of lockers. He held the note. "Why did you give this to me?"

I first looked past his shoulder, and saw Videl with Erasa and Sharpner. When Videl's eye made mine, Videl quickly looked away and pretended to be part of their conversation.. I slightly frowned, wanting to know really badly what she wanted Gohan for, but, I would have to wait.

I then lightly grabbed Gohan's shirt and pulled him toward him. He was surprised at the unexpected movement. "Huh?! Lime, what are you-"

"Read the note when Videl's not looking. Don't throw it away." I whispered in his ear, and released him softly. When he got the message, Gohan gave me a soft smile and a playful salute.

Though I could see under his façade. He was nervous.

"Yes, ma'am." He replied, and held the note in his palm. With a wave we both parted, but not before stealing a quick glance at Videl did I finally walk to my next class.

The note had said:

Meet me on the rooftop at lunch. We need to talk.
