The Maple Leaf Crown Chapter 7: A Wonderful Winter Wonderland Surprise

***At Canada's place***

The house's quiet aura was really peaceful, enough so that Liechtenstein started to drift off. Yesterday had been so bad anyway, especially hearing about her big bruder. Seeing how unsettled she was, Canada had suggested that they go out for day. They were just about to leave when a sudden phone-call caused him to hurriedly dash out of the house. 'It's urgent' he had whispered as he pressed a cellphone into her hands. 'Call me if you need something' She was waiting for Canada to come back...but the chair was ever so comfy. The room became dim and slowly faded away in as her subconscious took over.

"Liechtenstein...Liechtenstein...wake up please." The female nation groggily looked up at a worried Canada. He grabbed her hand to help her stand up. She smiled at him, showing that she was awake, and leaned forward to pat Kumijiro. The bear snapped at her but grudgingly allowed her to smooth his white fur. Surprised, she pulled her hand back and tried again. The results were the same. Liechtenstein started to ask before she was interrupted.

"Ah...I told him to be nice. You will be staying a little bit longer anyway, so he has to come to like you." That woke her up completely. Canada's apologetic face grew distraught as Liechtenstein started to shake. "Are you okay?" Her shakes grew larger and he couldn't help it. What was he supposed to do? A girl was crying because of something he had said! Canada grabbed her into a soft, but firm, bear hug. Surprised, Liechtenstein froze but relaxed as he soothingly patted her hair. "Everything will be alright, okay? How about we go ice-skating today? I promised you a day out." Liechtenstein backed out of his embrace and smiled brightly. She eagerly went and grabbed a coat before skipping out the front door. Canada smiled softly as he followed her out. Today was going to be a fun day.

"Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?" Liechtenstein thought for a moment before shaking her head. She resumed staring out the window, fascinated by the view outside. Her eyes hadn't strayed from the countryside since they had got into the car. In fact, Liechtenstein had only spoken three times and even then, the replies were just long enough to be considered polite. While Canada was flattered that she enjoyed his place so much, it would have been nice to enjoy a simple conversation. He only hoped he had made the right decision.

The car slowed down in front of a decently crowded building. It was so large that it attracted her attention. Was this where they were going? Liechtenstein opened her door and stepped out into the parking lot, immediately grateful that she grabbed a coat before leaving. The temperatures at home were always cold during this time of year, but it was nice to know that someone else had cold weather. She grabbed Canada's arm as he walked past, holding on as to maintain her balance. Despite the extra weight, he managed to get them to the front door.

"Oh my...it's cold in here too." Liechtenstein looked around the lobby, curious as to why someone would want such a cold temperature inside a building. She continued to look around as Canada paid their entrance fee. "Welcome to Merveilles D'Hiver, please enjoy your time here sir." Many curious people looked back at her and one little boy waved shyly. She waved back as her eyes were drawn to the skates he was carrying. Liechtenstein's eyes widened as she happily squeezed his arm.

"Are we going ice-skating today?" Canada smiled happily and they raced further inside the building. They started skating almost immediately as he had brought skates without her knowledge. The skates were even the right size so she didn't skid everywhere! Gliding across the ice was very fun and reminded her of home. Big bruder would often skate slowly by her side, talking and enjoying each other's company. Sometimes, people would join them and the time would fly. Liechtenstein stopped guilitily, ignoring the questioning looks those nearby were giving her. Canada probably wanted to have a conversation of some sort. Especially as she had practically ignored him on the trip here. She started up again, going as fast as her legs would allow so she could catch up to him.

"I'm so sorry! Thank you for bringing me here and I hope I haven't been rude to you. I'm sorry." Canada looked at the apologetic girl in front of him for a minute before he softly patted her head. She looked up and say only happiness and kindness in his eyes. Her worry glided away on a seperate pair of skates as she decided to have the best time ever. Together, they twilered and skated until the windows showed a setting sun.

"It's already really late, so would you like to leave Liechtenstein? If you don't want to, then I understand." They had both stopped to rest in chairs that surrounded the rink. Liechtenstein looked longingly down into the rink before gently taking off her skates. Her feet had started to hurt easily over an hour ago, not that it had bothered her. However, now that she had sat down, they were starting to throb gently. Hiding her wince, she put on her normal shoes and stood up gracefully. Canada had already changed his shoes and was waiting for her by the entrance. He took one look at her and pulled her aside.

"Um...are your feet hurting you by any chance? I noticed earlier...but you were having too much fun. I didn't want to interrupt." Liechtenstein blushed lightly but allowed him to lead her to a nearby chair. He gestured to a staff member who quickly returned with bandages. In a few short minutes, her feet were no longer hurting. She stood, did a quick spin as proof, and grinned up into his worried face.

"Thank you very much, for taking care of my feet and for bringing me here. It was fun~!" Liechtenstein sweetly curtsied to Canada and was surprised to see him bow in response. Why was he bowing to her? He stayed down as she cautiously put a hand on his shoulder. The Canadian nation jerked lightly before bringing his head back up. He nervously took her hand in his.

"This may be sudden, but would you like me as your guardian?"
