Havocpaw's POV
Havocpaw sat at the fresh kill pile, casting glances towards the medicine den. He saw Whitepaw emerge from the den. He was happy to see the young apprentice walking towards them with news, but all of his happyness vanished, when he noticed that his friend looked worried about something. "How's Maplepaw?"
Whitepaw jumped at the sound of his voice, then he sighed. "Silverlight is with her now." He choked out.
That was good, right? Then why'd the medicine cat apprentice look so sad? "Then what's wrong?"
"Silverlight just yelled at me for not cleaning the wound before applying the cobweb." He sighed. "But I'm still learning. She hasn't even taught me that yet."
Crowpaw hurried over to join them. "How is..?"
"As far as I know, she's fine." He answered, glancing at his paws. "I just can't do anything right today." He turned away from them, then walked off.
Havocpaw watched him walk out of camp, then sighed. "Come on, let's go and look in on her." He suggested, walking towards the medicine den.
Crowpaw nodded, following him.
Silverlight was applying fresh cobweb to the wound. "Mousebrained apprentice!" She hissed, loud enough for them to hear. "I never wanted one..." she paused when she saw them at the entrance. "Come to see Maplepaw?" She asked, as nice as she could. "She's fine now.. good thing I got here when I did." She stood up, and stalked out of the den.
Havocpaw sighed. "You check on Maplepaw, I need to go find Whitepaw. After all, he's upset and that loner could try to hurt him."
He nodded in understanding, then walked over to his sister.
Havocpaw watched him for a moment, then turned away and sprinted from the den.
Silverlight was talking to Moonstar.
He shook his head. Probably talking about Whitepaw, he hissed to himself, then hurried out of the camp.
Whitepaw's POV
Whitepaw sat beside the river, gazing into the water, when he heard pawsteps behind him. Like a flash, he whipped around. Nothing. He glanced back towards the river. The pawsteps was still there.. but where was they coming from? He glanced around, then decided to follow the noise. He already felt bad, but who else was around here? He thought they were all back at camp. He closed his eyes. Maybe its a hunting patrol. He turned back to the river, then sighed. Maybe I wasn't cut out to be a medicine cat apprentice, maybe this isn't StarClan's will.. then he reminded himself that it was only one mistake. Its not like he always made a mistake. He turned away from the river, and started back to camp.
Somebody was watching him from the bush.
He glanced around, feeling as if he was being watched. He paused. "Hello?" He called out, keeping his gaze on the river.
Before he could head back to camp, something jumped out at him, and pinned him to the ground.
Crowpaw's POV
Crowpaw crouched beside his sister. Maplepaw's eyes were closed, and she'd probably sleep the rest of the day. He licked her forehead, then walked out of the den.
"I'm telling you, he's not cut out for this job!" Silverlight was hissing urgently.
Moonstar rested his amber eyes on her. "Don't you think he feels bad enough already?" He hissed back. "You don't have to demote him."
Crowpaw listened in for a few more heartbeats, then went over towards the fresh kill pile. Havocpaw wasn't back yet, so does that mean he hadn't found Whitepaw yet? He veered away from the fresh kill pile and hurried out of the entrance. His friends needed him now, and he wasn't going to let them down.
