Jungkook's POV

I was walking out of the school and toward the café when I saw an older Hyundai sitting outside. When I got closer I saw Dallas sitting inside. I walked up to see her sitting inside staring at her phone. I knocked on the window and she motioned for me to get in without looking up. I did so and put on my seatbelt. She finally finished looking at whatever she was looking at on her phone and turned to me with a small smile. Something in her eyes was different from earlier though.

"Hey Kookie, you ready to go?" she asked me. I nodded and she put the car in drive and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Whose car is this?" I inquired. She smiled to herself and rubbed the steering wheel affectionately.

"Mine, her name is Gracie," she replied.

"What?! The car you were in the other day was brand new! It was a lot nicer than this… plus with your father's money you could afford to have a nicer car," I questioned.

"That was my father's car. Gracie was in the shop. I know I could have a nicer car but… this car belonged to my mom and after she passed she gave it to me. I treasure this car more than anything," she lamented. I felt myself wanting to pity her a little bit. We had all heard about her mother's death. I remember when she was missing from school for almost a month. She came back a completely different person. I believe that's when she joined in on the family business. In this moment she looked hopeless and tired. She never talked about her mother, and no one ever asked.

"I understand," I paused, unsure if I should even ask her about her mother but needing to know more about her life. "Do you miss her?" I asked. We had just pulled up to the café and she turned to look at me after she turned the car off. I was afraid I'd struck a nerve but she had a softness in her eyes I hadn't seen since before her mother passed away 4 years ago.

"Every day. She was my best friend in the whole world. She always strived to be the best version of herself she could be. She was kind and gentle and loving. Now that she's gone the world seems a little dimmer," she confessed. Without waiting for a reply, she got out of the car and walked into the café. We found a table and sat down pulling out our books and laptops.

We flew through the project and completed about half of it in just a few hours. I had gotten us a couple more coffees and came back to see Dallas stretching in her chair. I noticed the way she twisted her head and body in all different ways. Her muscles moved showing off how toned she actually was. Her shirt lifted revealing the tip of a tattoo on her side. I hadn't noticed I had stopped and was staring until I heard her clear her throat.

"Oh my God were you just checking me out?" she laughed. I felt my face heat up and I quickly sat down and slid her a coffee. I avoided her eyes and began reading over my textbook again to try and ignore her laughter. Suddenly my book was lowered from in front of my face and she was leaning over the table to stare right in my eyes. I had a very clear shot of her cleavage and she knew it. I felt my pulse quicken. She ran a finger along my jawline and smirked. My eyes were drawn to her lips as she let her tongue slide across them. "Maybe we should kiss to break the tension?" she purred. I swallowed back the saliva in my mouth. All of a sudden she sat back in her chair and snickered. I cleared my throat and quirked an eyebrow at her.

"I hate you," I whispered. Tears were streaming down her face from her laughter. She finally calmed down and packed up her stuff. She stood up and stretched again before turning to me.

"You want a ride home Kookie?" she asked. I shook my head.

"No thanks, I'm going to walk. It's not that far, but thanks," I answered. She nodded and clapped me on the shoulder.

"Alright, suit yourself. See you tomorrow Kook," and with that she was gone. What the hell just happened?!
