Chapter 7
A/N Hey guys! I am so sorry I haven't updated! I have been so busy with high school! But I'm back! I hope you enjoy this chapter!
Disclaimer: I do not own Once Upon A Mattress but I do own my OCs.
The King, Becca, Lesley, and Gianna spotted Larkin in the courtyard.
"Oh your majesty! I must leave before The Queen finds out!" Larkin exclaimed.
The King made a quizzical face.
"But where will you go?" Gianna asked for the King.
"I don't know yet, wherever the wind takes me I suppose" Larkin responded.
"Lady Larkin, it's dangerous out there, let us help you" Becca said as she made her way over to Larkin.
"No, you don't need to help me, I'll be fine on my own" Larkin said.
"Fine, but it won't be easy, over the wall you must climb" Lesley said as she made her way to Larkin.
"Climb?" Larkin asked as her eyebrows rose.
"Its 22 feet and covered with slime and infested with spiders" Lesley said as she looked on.
"Spiders!" Larkin's voiced rose.
"Oh the spiders are sweet compared to the snakes on the other side"
"Snakes!" Larkin exclaimed.
"Oh Don't worry they won't hurt you, unless of course, you go alone" Becca said.
"Well I wanted to go alone, but I didn't think it'd be so horrible!" Larkin exclaimed.
"Then you better think twice and come with me, I know all the secret ways to get you free, over the land and across the sea" Lesley said as she walked over to Becca and Gianna.
"Then where?" Larkin asked with curiosity.
"Well, it is April, isn't it?" Gianna asked.
The King nodded.
"Well then now is the perfect time to go to Normandy" Lesley said with a smile.
"Normandy?" Larkin asked.
"Yes it's perfect for you" Gianna said.
"But why?" Larkin asked.
"Because it's out of the castle, out of the kingdom where you'll be safe from harm" Becca explained.
"Safe" Larkin repeated.
"Besides, Normandy is a wonderful place, everyone is nice, and no one will judge you, there's a beach where the peach blossoms grow and the emerald sky is so beautiful" Lesley explained.
"It all sounds so great! But I won't know what to do once I get there! I won't know anyone!" Larkin exclaimed.
"Well that can be fixed" Gianna said, stepping forward.
"What do you have in mind?" Becca asked Gianna.
"Larkin, I will go with you to Normandy, I will help you with everything as time goes on and you have the baby" Gianna said.
Larkin gasped.
"Would you really do that for me Gianna?" Larkin asked.
"Larkin, when all the other ladies in waiting ignored me and shunned me, you didn't, you showed me kindness. Of course I will help you" Gianna said.
Larkin then hugged Gianna.
"Oh thank you Gianna!" Larkin said as she hugged Gianna.
"You're welcome" Gianna replied.
As this was going on, the group didn't know that they were being watched and heard. They were being watched not by the Queen but Sir David.
David's eyes widened when he heard Gianna's proposition, but he knew that she would do that.
'Ah, Gianna, so quick to help others' David thought to himself with a smile.
But truly, David felt lost.
Gianna was the only one who cared about his feelings, the other ladies just cared about his looks and charms.
She never knew about this, but David had very strong feelings for Gianna. So strong that once the marriage rule was lifted, he would go over to Gianna, profess his love for her and ask her to marry him.
And now seeing Gianna plan to leave with Larkin, David devised a plan.
"I must go with Gianna and Larkin" David whispered to himself.

Winnifred and Dauntless were in Winnifred's room.
Dauntless was helping Winnifred study for the next day's test. Since no one knew what the subject was, dauntless was covering everything.
After a while, the pair decided to take a break.
"You know I think you're amazing" Dauntless told Winnifred.
Winnifred smiled.
Even as an adult he gave her so many compliments.
"Thank you Dauntless" Winnifred said.
"So what do you like to do in the swamp?" Dauntless asked.
"Well, I like to take walks in the Marsh, and catch toads and frogs, once I caught 13 frogs in one day!" Winnifred said.
"Wow! That's fantastic Winnifred!" Dauntless said with wide eyes.
"Thanks, and by the Dauntless, Winnifred's to formal you can call me by nick name-'
"Fred" Dauntless said absentmindedly.
Winnifred's eyes widened, Dauntless had always called her Fred when they were little, and he was the one who gave her that nick name.
"What did you call me?" Winnifred asked as she stood up.
Dauntless backed away slowly.
"I called you Fred… I'm sorry! If you want I won't call you that ever again!" Dauntless said worriedly.
Winnifred smiled and hugged him.
"Oh Dauntless! It's perfect! How did you know it was Fred?" Winnifred asked.
"You know I honestly don't know I just came up with it" Dauntless said.
Winnifred pulled back and nodded. She knew that he wouldn't remember.
"Well I love it" Winnifred said.
The pair then started studying again.
OUAM
Queen Aggravain was in her private lounge pouring tea in two cups.
She had sent Cardamon to get Lady Rosalie so they could 'Chat' over tea.
Aggravain then pulled out a vile of a red elixir that Cardamon made in exchange for Becca's life, she then poured it into Rosalie's cup and stirred it.
Aggravain then hid the empty vile in her dress, she then heard the door open and saw Cardamon and Rosalie in the doorway.
"Here she is your majesty" Cardamon said as he looked down.
"Good Afternoon your Majesty" Rosalie said as she curtsied.
"Hello my dear, won't you please sit down and we shall enjoy some tea" Aggravain said in her best nice voice.
Rosalie then took a seat across from the Queen.
"So my dear how are you and your sister Daresay?" Aggravain asked.
"Um, it's Desiree, your Majesty" Rosalie corrected.
"Yes of course how are you two?" Aggravain asked and then sipped her tea.
"We're good. But I have a question" Rosalie said.
"Yes?" Aggravain asked.
"How do you choose the subject for testing each princess?" Rosalie asked.
"That my dear is none of your business now drink your tea" Aggravain said.
Rosalie then drank her tea. The Queen smirked behind her cup.
Rosalie then felt a little sleepy; she ignored the feeling and asked again.
"Your majesty can you please answer my question?" Rosalie asked.
"Not now my dear, not now" Aggravain said, getting up and walking towards the window.
Rosalie then stood up but immediately dizzy.
Seeing this from her peripheral vision, the Queen smirked.
"If you insist Lady Rosalie I shall tell you, I based the subject on what your weakest point is" Aggravain as she turned around the see Rosalie wobbling while trying to stand.
"Wait…till I…tell… Des…" Rosalie stammered.
Rosalie tried to walk but her vision was blurry, her breathing quickened as her heart was racing. She then fell to the ground.
"Wha…?" Rosalie whispered.
"You knew too much, I put poison in your tea" Aggravain said as she pulled out the vile.
"You….monster" Rosalie said.
Her world then went black.
Aggravain smiled upon the dead lady. She then fetched Cardamon who was standing outside the room.
"Lady Rosalie is dead as a doornail" Aggravain said to Cardamon as she pointed to the dead lady.
"What now Your Majesty?" Cardamon asked.
"You put her in her bed to make it look like she died in her sleep" Aggravain said and then left the room.
Cardamon then picked up Rosalie and carried her into an empty room.
He then placed her on the bed and then went to the door.
Cardamon then turned around and looked at Rosalie.
"I'm sorry" Cardamon said as he closed the door.
A/N And I'll stop there! WOAH! That is a lot of drama for one chapter! Consider it an apology for making you guys wait! Please review!
