Declaimer: I don´t own Detective Conan. Just the twins. They are MINE!
A/N: Hello again. XD Here comes the second part, enjoy!
PART II
At eight o´clock, a group of small students from Beika arrived at a big japanese inn, covered in smiled and, in some cases, dirt. They had played all afternoon after all… Anyway, they all stared at the big inn for a moment; some more than other, before turning their attention back to the teacher waiting for explanations. After all, they were told they would be staying at a small hotel, and not a big inn! A big inn that looked slightly hunted. The old wood, scary colors, big forest like trees around it… please, please there be no ghosts.
"Haha…" Kobayashi mumbled as her students stared at her wordlessly, wondering exactly why they were doing that. It´s not as if she could explain that she wanted something to appear in the middle of the night so she could investigate it… "We´ll be staying here for the night. It´s a nice place and I heard the food here is good." Their eyes were still on her, waiting for a better explanation and, hopefully, a disclaimer about possible existence of ghosts, but the teacher just reminded silent, waiting for the manager to appear.
Soon enough, as a person came to them and started dividing them in small groups, the children forgot about their initial fear, some mumbling that ghosts did not exists. They would not believe in such childish stories. They were eighth already, after all… "Children. In ten minutes, join me here for dinner. No one starts unless everyone is here!" The children nodded happily and ran to their rooms, leaving the teachers behind without thinking twice.
"What a lively bunch." Hattori stated as he watched them disappear, noticing only Shiro and Sora were left along with Kou. They seemed to be in a heated discussion about something, his boy nodding repeatedly with a smile. It would be a pity to leave now, but he had forgotten to book a room. They would be so sad, but it´s not like he could anything now… There was a big probability the rooms were all taken, since, despite its looks, the inn was famous. The owner just liked keeping it that way.
"Kou, we need to go!" Kazuha called the little boy whom turned around with teary eyes, his plans with the twins interrupted for the time being. "I know, I know, but we don´t have room, darling. We need to go. You´ll still see the twins tomorrow."
"Bu-but…" Kou tried to fight back, but one look from mother made him go quiet and look down at the floor angry. "Okay…" There went their plans, down the big hill into the ravine… It´s not as if he could go against his mother, he knew how angry she would be…. Oh man, just when he became part of the show, his mom had to go and destroy it all. Sure, sure, his dream was not to be a magician, but he had to admit he liked the magic shows the twins did….
The main door opened and a beautifully dressed woman came inn, her long blond hair following her every elegant step. A bunch of employees followed her, listening to her every command like loyal dogs, which most of them probably were. All of sudden, her brown eyes rested on Kou´s father, before a smile rose to her red lips. "Hattori-kun!" She sung, approaching them. "I was not expecting to see you here. Did you come here with your family?"
Bowing, Heiji smiled. "No, Sara-san. The children of a friend of mine came to Osaka on a trip, and they are staying here, so I was keeping them company until now. I actually forgot to book a room, so we´ll leave for now." Kazuha nodded and took Kou´s hand, keeping an eye on the woman.
Despite trusting her husband, Kazuha had to admit she was jealous when woman like her approached her husband, and it happened more often than not. Sure, Heiji was a well-known detective, but he was hers and other women needed to back off. She wasn´t the Judo champion for nothing. Even now, she still trained hard and could easily knock them off. "Don´t you even think of it!" Sara put her well-treated hands around her husband's shoulders, pulling the man towards her. "Anytime you need a room, just call. I´ll always have space for you." As she ordered one of the workers to prepare a room, Kazuha let go of Kou´s hand and approached them, quickly placing herself in the middle.
"Thank you a lot, Sara-san." She stated, smiling. The smile, however, was as icy as an iceberg. "But I don´t think we can impose on you this way. The rooms should be for costumers, and not for freeloaders." Blinking, the woman stared at her for a moment, before laughing and backing away with understanding.
"No, no, I insist. Your husband saved me and my little inn, the most important thing in my life, so even if he is running from jail, I will help him." Staring at her confused, Kazuha couldn't believe her ears. "He helped me when no one else did, and I am grateful to him." Sure, she had heard about that woman´s case but her behavior was strange…
The twins at that moment were listening to every word said carefully, in order to understand whatever Kou would stay or not. It seemed like a room would be prepared for them, but Kazuha-neesan´s behavior forced them to act. "Thank you very much, ojou-sama." Shiro said as he reached the blond woman, giving her his best smile.
"Thanks to you, Kou can stay now." Sora added, joining her brother while extending a red rose to the surprised woman. "Thank you, ojou-sama." Both twins nodded, giving her one more smile as she took the rose. Grandma Yukiko had mentioned a few times women preferred to be called ojou no matter what was their age, and as they saw the woman smile happily, they had to admit she was right.
"It´s hard to find such polite children these days." Sara stated and looked at the rose, wondering where they were hiding it. "I should thank you, little angles, for brightening my day. Maybe I´ll see you before you leave." Giving the twins a kiss on the cheeks, the strange woman left with a huge smile.
The twins weren´t sure they would see her again, but they knew she would remember them for the rest of her life. After all, that night would be magical. Smirking, they took Kou´s hand and ran with him somewhere before the adults had time to react, leaving the Hattori´s no other choice but to stay at the hotel.
The dinner room was a large place with view to the garden, something the twins had already expected. It was common for every guest to eat together, what made them even more excited. After all, everyone would see their show. So exciting!
"Children!" Kobayashi called, and her class turned around to pay her attention. "Eat slowly and carefully. Don´t take more than you can eat, since it is rude to leave food. Dessert will come after everyone had eaten. If you need to go to bathroom, remember to tell me first. And…"As her nagging continued, Sora frowned because of the amused looks other guests were giving them. Although not most of them, some thought that was hilarious, and it irritated her.
Giving his sister a look, Shiro sighed, already expecting that. Sora could be used when other people´s eyes were on her, but it wasn´t as if she liked it always. Some looks, such as those they were receiving then, she though were offensive. After all, those people were having fun by laughing at other people. "Sora, later." He promised, sighing as the teacher finally allowed them to eat. He could understand his sister, making sure to remember whom exactly was laughing at them.
"Okay." Looking at the food available, Sora started to dig in with a smile, already planning possible means of revenge. Surprising everyone, she quickly took the fish dish, smiling happily at it. It was understandable though. After all, no one knew that, while their father hated fish, Sora actually loved the way it tasted, so they only ate it when father wasn´t at home.
Five minutes later, Shiro approached Kobayashi to say he was going to the toilet, disappearing for about ten minutes. No one suspected anything, and to be honest no one had idea that something was going to happen. After all, the twins had promised they would do no pranks, so what else should they be afraid of after all?
Ten minutes after Shiro came back; it was Sora´s turn. Once again, no one paid attention, sharing food and non-alcohol drinks, since they had children to watch. She took longer, about twenty minutes, but no one said a thing. After all, there was NOTHING to worry.
"How´s it going?" Kou asked as she came back at sat at her place, smiling slightly, noticing other children looked at him confused, waiting for her to say something. The smile, however, was the answer, Kou nodding in understanding. The twins had explained him exactly what needed to be done, and who would do what. The smile meant everything was going all right, and the only part that needed to be done was his.
Three minutes later, Kou left the table walking towards the exist, disappearing into the darkness of a small room the twins had found that lead to the garden. Pulling out the glasses Sora had given him, Kou watched as the night vision turned itself on, allowing him to walk pass the many furniture without bumping into anything, reaching the exit in seconds. Out-side; he took out a small wire Shiro had given him, starting to place it on the grass exactly where he was told. No, he wouldn´t allow the twins magic show to go wrong because they had believed in him. Kou would do everything perfectly, so they would ask for his help the next time they were in the town.
Now that task was done, the dark skinned boy looked around the sky for the blue balloon Sora said she would place as a reference, walking towards it and starting to cover the tree it was attached to with small lights. The twins said they would turn on, but they hadn´t had time to explain how. Next was the tree left on it, as well as the right one and he made sure not to forget to throw some at the grass. Whatever the twins were planning, he knew it would be great. He only had time to hear the first part.
The time on his watch reminded him it was time to go back, and after placing a lighter on the floor, he disappeared once again into the small room, joining the twins in the dinner table. "Okay." He stated and grinned, finishing his lasagna, noticing dad sent him a worried look. Could it be adults were on to them? But it was too soon, and nothing about everyone else´s behavior showed that…
"It´s fine." A grinning Sora said as she stood up, stretching a little bit. "Your dad is a detective, and mom´s friend. I bet mom warned him we may do something, but now he has no chance on stopping us." She had a point there… Even if dad tried, he would only do worse. "Shiro, are you done yet?"
Rolling his eyes, the male twins finished eating, placing his silvery exactly as mom taught, before correcting Sora´s. It was obvious she never paid mom attention when it came to etiquette. Then again, that was the eight year old that had chased a dog through all the town just because it took her lunch… but that was a story for another day. "I am ready now." He confirmed, standing up.
"Alright!" Grinning, Sora prepared the device, after making sure everyone was distracted with something. These people will never know what hit them. "It´s show time!"
The teachers were talking happily when, all of sudden, the lights went out. Almost half the guests shrieked in surprise, while most of the children reminded quiet, wondering when exactly had they started getting used to sudden situation. Oh, wait, it was since the twins came to school… "What happened?" Some people started to ask, considering wherever they should stand or wait for the lights to come back. They, however, didn´t have to wait long.
"Ladies…" A voice stated, coming from every direction. "And gentleman!" A spotlight was lighten up, towards the garden, and everyone´s eyes just followed it. There, in a black smocking stood a boy, a tall one, a white mask covering his eyes, just the mouth not hidden. "Tonight, allow us to transport you into the world of magic and mystery." He bowed, smoke enveloping him as he disappeared with a slight laugh.
"Don´t worry..." Another voice said, and the spotlight moved towards the left. "It´s only magic." The stoplight started to go crazy, left, right, left, right, confusing the poor people for a moment before dying out, leaving the garden completely dark.
But then, the in darkness, something started to light up. No, it wasn´t that… something gloved around the garden, starting in the grass and then moving up. Kobayashi narrowed her eyes trying to see clearly, noticing the relaxing music that came out of nowhere, before her eyes widened. Those were… birds.
Without a warning, a bunch of white doves flew towards the sky, making the audience wonder exactly where were they had been hiding until then, and why the hell were they shinning in the dark. But then, as they disappeared, they appeared again, flying down towards the same spot. "The…" Someone wanted to say, ask, wonder, but the garden light up and the doves disappeared, leaving a single person, no, child, standing in the middle of thousand colorful lights.
The child, a smaller one from before, smirked and showed their hands. They were empty, completely, before the child clapped once and a dove appeared, flying towards a tree and sitting down. Then they took the hat and threw it up in the air, counting until three. As the hat fell down, it swallowed the child alive, disappeared in a puff of pink smoke along with the child.
It was an understatement to say that the audience wasn´t surprised, since they were actually dying to run to the garden and search for the child. The hell was going on?
"One." A female child mumbled. "Two. Three!"
Cards fell down from the empty sky, surprising everyone as another persona appeared in the garden, smiling too. "Are you having fun?" She asked loudly, and while half the audience stared at her confused, still asking themselves what exactly was going on; the children cheered excited, already aware whom the magicians were. "I didn´t hear you!"
"YES!" They yelled with all their strength, watching as she smirked and colorful bombs exploded all around her, the big hat back on the improvised stage. "More!" They cheered again and she bowed, before the hat exploded, covering everyone in small glitters.
"Finally!" A figure stepped out of the smoke created from the hat, cleaning his black suit. "I knew I should have tamed the hat better." The children laughed, recognizing the voice of Shiro. He sure sounded irritated. "But now that I am back, no one will win me again. I am invici…" Before he had the chance to finish, the birds covered him, some even sitting on his nose.
"Sho!" Sora yelled and the birds took off, revealing the female twin, who grinned, in place of Shiro. By now, even the most skeptical people were drawn to the show, forgetting all about their questions and deciding to just enjoy it. "This show is mine. I won´t let anyone take it!"
The hat appeared again and was thrown at the audience, growing smaller and disappearing before hitting anyone. "No, it´s mine!" Shiro declared, taking out a white long scarf. "Go away." Running after the giggling girl, he managed to warp it wound her, and she was gone when he took it away. "This is so hard to have a good time with her around…"
"Is that so?" A black scarf covered the little boy. "This stage is mine!" As the girl jumped from the sky, Shiro managed to free himself from it, staring at her irritated before the collective laughed broke his concentration. Confused, he looked at them and then at himself, noticing he was wearing a pink pajama. "This suits you so much!" Sora laughed, winking. "Take pictures now before…"
However, she didn´t have time to finish as a smoke bomb was thrown her way, the girl reappearing in a rather embarrassing out-fit. "That´s not fair!" She complained, pouting. He had to dress her up like a mermaid, had he? "I cannot move like this." Even though she said that, at a snap of her finger, the hat appeared once again, eating the poor boy alive. "Fear me, you stupid human."
For about twenty minutes, the twins fought against each other, appeared and disappeared; changing outfits and even faces instantly, keeping the audience laughing. New people joined, and bets were made regarding whom would win. "You little…" Complained Shiro, watching himself grin back to him. "You just had to dress as me."
"It was you who dressed as me!" Answered his own voice back, and they sighed at the same time. It was like watching a person talk to its mirror, and even though they knew it was no mirror, most of them couldn´t believe those where two different people, especially after they started to move in synchrony. "Stop it!" One of them said. No one already knew whom was who…
"No, you stop it." Retorted the other one… was it Shiro? Was it Sora? Oh god, whom was who? Should they start making them from then on? "This is my stage! I skipped dessert for it!" The other just stared, and the audience couldn´t help but shake their head. They had seen the kids eat dessert when they thought the other couldn´t see. "I saw you eat dessert. Only I skipped it!"
"What are you talking about?" For a moment, they just stared at each other, before stating at the same time that the other needed to disappear. "Go away already!" The doves, of all colors, took off from their spot at the trees, enveloping the tiny magicians. "No, wait…!" They yelled, and every things disappeared. The twins, the birds, the colors. Darkness took over the garden once again, leaving everyone very confused. What just happened? It was as if they came back to the start…
"Finally." A voice they hadn´t heard since the beginning stated, the tall child walking towards them. The lights started to light up again, phantom lights on the suddenly pink blooming trees, and the child smiled. "I am sorry I didn´t stop them earlier." He seemed rather embarrassed. "But now that they are gone, let us proceed."
As he lifted his arms, the trees light up in all force, glowing beautifully. A wind gently played with the leaves, some lights flying towards the dark night sky. "It had been a pleasure to entertain you tonight." That was Kou, right? "Thank you for everything."
The twins appeared right next to Kou, as if they had always been there, and the three of them bowed. "Until the next time." They said and smiled, Kou snapped his fingers, and something flew towards the sky. It was only seconds later everyone realized those were fireworks, and so beautiful. Flowers, birds, a kid doddle?; so many enchanting colors. When had they had time to prepare it? One thing the children were sure, they were looking forward for the next trip with twins.
When the firework stopped, everyone looked down, noticing the garden was black. Nothing was there, and the light came back as suddenly as it disappeared. "What was that?" Shiro asked confused, sitting next to Sora and Kou. They all had perplexed expressions, mostly twins since Kou wasn´t used to acting and actually just wanted to run to his room and hide; but no one bought it. At least not the children and the teachers, since they knew exactly who did it. "May I have my dessert now?"
"I would love to meet those little magician." Said Sara-san as she watched the Tentai elementary students gather near the bus, smiling at the twins. "It was a magical show. Maybe they can put on one on my birthday." It was decided that no one would say who did that, mostly to save themselves from questions about the twins; but that woman had found out.
"I don´t think they are available." Sora said grinning. "But we know one good magician that is. Kuroba Kaito is the best magician ever!" Swirling, Sora ran towards Kobayashi-sensei to put her beg, leaving Shiro with that woman, Kou and his parents.
Kou was still slightly embarrassed, wondering how they managed to act like nothing happened, but then again they were used to it. Him, on the other hand, wasn´t. "Oh yea, Shiro, how did you know everything would work out? Especially with the fireworks?"
The boys were whispering, not wanting the adults to find out what they were discussing. "We do many equations and experiment before putting a show. We always how mom, dad or Ai-san everything to make sure nothing goes wrong. We are children yet, after all, so everything is verified first before used."
"Hmm…" He had a point there. "When we´ll we meet again? You haven´t departed yet and I already miss you…" Kou had always wanted siblings, but his parents for some reason were happy with just one. He had to admit he thought of the twins like his little siblings…
"You can come and visit us next time your dad comes to help mom." Sora said as she appeared behind him and pulled him in a hug. "Considering mom´s luck, I don´t think it will take long." Shiro nodded, joining them. "You can always call us. We´ll available every day, from nine am to ten pm. Don´t call before nine, Shiro is like a zombie."
Rolling his eyes, Shiro went to say goodbye to Heiji and Kazuha, whom ruffled his already messy hair, making it a complete mess. Oh well, he would sleep when on the bus anyway. "See you, Kazuha-oneesan, Heiji-niichan."
"Have a nice trip!" They yelled as the bus took off, everyone waving like maniacs. Then again, the twins could actually be… "That was a long day…" Kazuha mumbled, sighing. It was exactly as Shinichi told it would be; chaos. Next time they came to Osaka, she would make Shinichi come as well. They needed someone to control them. "Well then, shall we go now?"
Nodding, Kou gave the moving bus one last glance, before staring right into his parents eyes. "Mom, dad." He called, noticing that Sara-san had returned to the hotel. "I want siblings."
The elementary school´s entrance was full of parents, who were more than eager to see their children. There was one, however, who just couldn´t stop pacing from one point to another, wondering when they would come back. They were late ten minutes already. "Shinichi, calm down, you know everything is alright."
Giving Kaito a look, she sighed and approached him. "It´s just that… It´s hard to be without them. What if something happens? I just can´t calm down, and my profession isn´t helping me. You know how many cases have happened involving children and busses? Why did I let them go?"
"Because they wanted." Hugging his wife, Kaito smiled. Shin-chan sure loved to worry. "Everything is aright. Look, there they are. See, nothing happened." Indeed, the bus was heading their way, and before everyone knew it, the children and ran out towards their parents, talking merrily about the trip.
"Dad!" Sora yelled as she jumped at him, grinning. "You know, you know, we did it! And Kou helped! It was amazing. Oh, and you may receive a request to do a magic show for a birthday party. If it is from Sara-san, accept it. Kou grew up so much! It was like… like… taller than us!"
Smiling, Kaito asked her to slow down, aware he hadn´t understood a thing she said. Well, aside from the possible job for a Sara-san. He had a feeling he had heard that name somewhere. "How about we go home, and you two tell us everything about you trip there?" Looking at each other, the twins nodded, ran to take their bags and followed their parents, walking happily home.
The trip was fun, but being home, with mom and dad, was ten times better. "We missed you!" They said at the same time, smiling gently at their parents, who said the same thing. The dinner, that night, had everything they liked, even fish; and they talked until midnight about everything that happened. Yup, being home was better.
Omake
Shinichi was ironing clothes when Haibara walked in, without even knocking, saying she needed to see something. Confused, she looked at her computer, blinking as a video began to play. It was titled as Amazing mystery magicians. At first, she wondered why it was important, before the magicians appeared, and shockingly, she recognized them as… her CHILDREN!
"Shiro! Sora! Kaito!" She called angry, unable to keep her eyes way from the video. And apparently that wasn´t the only one, at least hundred existing on internet. "Haibara, could you save the best one in my computer and delete everything else from the internet?" The university girl smirked and nodded, walking towards her bedroom as the rest of Kuroba´s family appeared.
"Yes?" Kaito inquired, before his eyes flew to the video. Oh, oh… the twins had told him everything, hopping he could help them keep it from Shinichi, but it seems like it was too late now. "Look, they just wanted to have fun, that´s all. They are children and…"
"AND? Do you understand that…"
The twins ended up being grounded for a week, while Kaito slept at the cough for at least three days before she forgave him. That is, not counting the big scolding they all had to endure. What a hellish day that was…
Unaware to the family were the fan club that were created in many, many school and universities dedicated to the twins, the mysterious magicians, whom had saved most of the videos. The cuteness and beauty of their how captured their heart, and they had wowed to follow their work from the darkness, waiting for the next time the twins would appear in the world of show business.
A/N: Who wants to join the fanclub? XD Sorry for the omake, I just had to write something about it XD
